If I could give them 0 stars, I would. This was awful. My iPhone6 (purchased less than 8 months ago) had issues with the receiver -- I could not hear people on the other end of the phone. I've had issues with iPhones before, and I have always worked directly with Verizon Wireless, but on this day, Verizon asked me to see Apple. I reluctantly went out of my way to the apple store. There were several angry customers around me, so I don't think this was just me. TERRIBLE customer service. TERRIBLE!!!!! The Genius Bar associate who assisted me assured me multiple times that the techs would be able to repair my phone. I have a passcode protected phone because of work email on the device. I asked her if she wanted me to delete the account temporarily so that the passcode could be removed prior to the techs working on the phone, and she said that it would not be an issue at all. I asked her to request that the techs do not do anything to the phone if the initial repair didn't work without my consent upon returning to the store. They told me the service would take approximately one hour. I returned almost 2 hours later and then had to wait more than 30 minutes to see someone. I asked the woman who checked me in whether or not my phone had been repaired and she said "I don't know, it says it's ready though." I feel that this level of detail should be something included in the information they are able to share with customers. As I was waiting, a man across from me was being serviced. The techs had wiped his entire device clean which held all of his personal business information. They offered no relief or no apology to the man. Another man waiting at my table had been waiting since I was there the first time to still be seen at the Genius Bar and said that he even made an appointment. This is no way to treat people. I sat at the table for 30+ minutes, when the woman who checked me in assured me that someone would be "right out" to give me my phone. Finally, another employee saw my frustrated face and came over to ask if I had been helped. He immediately went in the back and followed up with me -- so kudos to that guy as he is the only person in that entire store who cares about its customers. I wish I knew his name, but he was a middle aged man, nearly 6 feet tall and had a thick accent. I hope you find him and tell him that I appreciate his help. A few minutes later a woman came out and told me that they were unable to fix my phone. I asked her what happened and she said that the display had been broken. She tried to put a positive spin on it by telling me that I was getting a new phone, but the problem was that the technicians had tried other things with my phone as I had asked the girl at the Genius Bar to have them NOT do. Also, the woman told me that because there was a passcode on my phone, I could not go home and back it up to save what was on it -- this was another thing the girl at the Genius Bar assured me would not be an issue (her name was Jessie Black). The reason I do not have an iCloud is because I had a very serious personal breach via my cloud about two years ago and do not want to use it for fear that it may happen again -- another reason I am very displeased with Apple. So, I have a new phone, but I do not have any information that I have been saving for the last few years that I have been an Apple customer. The woman I spoke with at the end also finally told me that they had a machine malfunction and that it impacted multiple devices. If you have a machine malfunction, you should stop using it in order to prevent further customer-facing issues from happening. I understand that things happen, however, there were a few things I had specifically requested up front and was assured by your employees would not happen that led me to not have the information on my device that I need. This is a huge inconvenience and things that could have been prevented by better customer service. This store needs a HUGE revamp. I was not the only displeased customer. I will NEVER return to this store, and I will highly recommend that others I know in the area follow suit. I feel that I should have been provided restitution in some ways for what happened, and I would still like for that to happen if the greater Apply customer service is better than what this specific location was able to provide. read more
