First person I talked to took me in right away, went to a computer, and ordered them online for delivery in a few days. Explained everything in a great way. Applied the phones to my phone carrier account. All I have to do is handle the trade ins of my old phone at my phone carrier's store. Through the years Apple Stores could be totally infuriating. Shitty attitude, responses, and snippy comments from employees. A few days when I visited, it's just as anyone would like to be served, with total professionalism. Yelp 100 Challenge 2018 # 10/100 You still wait in line despite the fact you have an appointment. And the line was looooonggggg. By the time I got to the front of the line my appointment time has passed and the person checking me in said "your appointment was at 12:10' and I blandly said yes waiting for him to make eye contact so I could nicely tell him that I was in line for a while, but I was just rudely pointed out to a desk and told 'wait there,' without letting me know how long the wait is. After waiting patiently for 20 minutes I flagged down a guy in red shirt (all employees are wearing red shirts) to ask how much longer the wait is and was told to ask the person who checked me in. I so did not want to face that guy but I did anyway just so I can get this ordeal done and over with. He says "you're next." You're next actually meant another 10 minutes of waiting. The genius (that's what they call themselves) who helped me, Mike, was actually nice and wasn't condescending when explaining regarding the likely culprit of my problem with the iPhone. Even so, when I got home, the problem I had still wasn't solved. So, come on Apple Support, really with the Genius tag?! In the end I figured out the problem myself. When we asked for help to problem solve our receipt situation, we were immediately spoken to with disdain and aggression. You can generally also tell when someone is being dishonest, and the manager immediately told us untrue information after proving to them there was a system error (we bought another cable then and there to show them there was a system card issue-they were still unable to find our transaction with our credit card). The manager said they run queries at the end of day, so that's why it wasn't showing up- that's really hard to believe when they are APPLE. Is their system extremely outdated where they can't see transactions as soon as they are purchased? Really hard to believe... At the end of the day, without getting into all the details over a freaking $30 usb cable, we were really disappointed with the horrific customer service that we received, clearly stemming from top down. read more

The parking structure is nearby and it's free for I think 60 minutes, but make sure you come early because the whole entire structure can get filled really quickly. Super busy store, but I usually come here if I already have an order ready for pick up so it doesn't take too long for me to complete the sale. As with all apple stores, I really like the simple design and how they place all the devices in a way that lets you interact with them quickly. In addition to the many apple items they have, they also have quite interesting accessories in the back. I never knew an electronic toothbrush could be so sophisticated until I saw the Colgate electronic toothbrush. Overall, I would recommend most people to buy online and then pick up at the store because it can take a long time for people to get to you. Additionally, if you were one of the people looking to get a new battery at this store it might take you even longer! Also, I feel like it might be harder for people who don't speak English as their first language to have an equal experience. I remember coming here to buy a phone and there was a person from China who had a lot of trouble because people were trying to use a phone to translate what they were trying to say. Wish I could give a negative 5 stars for this location. Called in to apple support and the guy made me an appointment. I spelled out my name twice. Arrived in the store when my appointment was... guy in the front could not find my appointment. After standing there for 10-15mins he figured out they had misspelled both my first and last name (for example my last name out of 5 had 2 correct letters to it). I get seated and reminded by two employees that I am late in a snarky passive aggressive way. I tell them there was an issue checking in which is met with "yeah right". I get that apple is a relaxed atmosphere company but what the actual ****?! I get told that I have to video record the problems my phone is experiencing cause they can't find anything wrong with it. Even then they might not do anything about it cause they have quotas as employees to keep. I express to the employee that I have gone through this before as my iPhone was ALREADY a replacement for the original one. My original phone had broken microphone and speaker at the time of receiving it. Sound would come off as scratchy broken robotic static. During that visit they did diagnostic lessons and said that everything was fine. I kept asking the employee to simply just listen to ANYTHING on the phone. She refused and said her diagnostic showed it was fine and that was that I needed to leave. An hour later I asked for the manager that when they finally came agreed ti listen to ANYTHING via the speakers. They listened to 10seconds of a YouTube video to determine the phone was broken and gave me a new one on the spot. This store is a nightmare. Apple is a nightmare. read more

Be aware, this location takes advantage of senior citizens. My mother went in and made a $3k purchase of a new computer. At the same time she asked if they could fix the cracked screen of her fully functioning iPhone 10. They said yes, it would be done in a hour. When she returned they gave her a dead phone and told her the phone was no longer working. To be clear, she went in with a fully functioning phone. Their explanation was that there was water damage. Flustered, my mom asked what she should do. The customer rep, Mario, told her that they don't sell the iphone 10 anymore but, "for customers like you, we can offer you the same phone for $600.00". My mother, not knowing this was a terrible deal (an iPhone 10 is worth between $142 and $246 and a brand new iPhone 12se costs $450) agreed and payed over $600.00 for an old phone. They are now refusing to take back the phone or give her a refund, saying this purchase was made through the genius bar and was a "repair" and is nonrefundable. When I confronted the manager, Curtis, he admitted that if I had been in the store with my mother and had asked different questions the sale never would have taken place...!! When I commented that I was glad our call was being recorded because by his own words he had just admitted to taking advantage of her, Curtis became angry and franticly starting saying he did not give permission to be recorded. Curtis, your company, Apple, says at the beginning of every phone call that they are recording the call. This is your company's policy. Clearly these people knew exactly what they were doing. And they did this to my mom after she dropped 3K. They KNOW they are taking advantage of the elderly. I now have a case opened with Apple. Sar far TWO senior advisors from customer care are working to get ahold of the store to make this right. This is the most unethical experience I have EVER had with a business. read more

I caved.... got sucked into the vortex of the latest and greatest iPhone 11 pro. It is time, to be honest. I have held out for several years and the upgrades on this new gem couldn't be passed up... for a price of course. This is how it panned out. 1. Called support at Apple, asked some questions about reserving, payments, and availability in the Pasadena store. Reserved the 11 Pro over the phone in the color I wanted, with a pick up time the same day between 530-6pm. I'm excited. 2. Arrive at Apple store, check in with a staff member, and then i'm in a line... not too long, but a line none the less. The line is for the phones to be delivered that have been ordered... so we are a step ahead of the game. 3. Here comes Nick. We start chatting it up about the Yankees vs. my team the Red Sox. We hit it off and he's setting me up pretty nicely with what needs to be done for a smooth transition from phone to phone. He's giving me tips and all sorts of great ideas, even when the stress feels pretty high in the store, he's not rattled. Simply kind and terrific. He takes me over to Josh. 4. Next up: Josh. He has a table full of new parents to the iPhone 11, everyone buzzing with excitement, eager to ask questions and get outta there. But Josh is able to orchestrate this entire table, taking care of every customer's needs, patiently and kindly. I was simply amazed. He truly took his time despite all the people waiting for moments with him, making sure I was good to go before I walked out the door. Josh and Nick made my experience absolutely superior. Let's be honest here. Apple products sell themselves. It is the quality, caring, knowledge, and personality of the staff that keep this company going. I've had varying experiences at this store, but as of late it has done nothing but exceed my expectations. As for my new phone... I LOVE IT. It is going to take me a bit to get used to the upgrades. Josh helped me use the camera before I left, assisting me with capturing this very cool photo of him. I asked him, "can I take your photo for my Yelp review?"... he said, "no one has every asked me that before, and SURE!" This photo came out so nice, I received an email from Yelp saying it was selected as photo to highlight the store. Not bad for an amateur with a great piece of technology. I had to drive in the heat just to find out that the place is closed. With some incompetent security guard that didn't even know his name. I arrived at 2:50 pm so that maybe he could be fired. I felt bad that a lady came in behind me and asked a question and the idiot said to her "you need to figure it out ". Had an appointment for some AirPods Pro issues and I was assisted by an employee named Mark. Mark was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and attentive throughout his entire interaction with me. He gave extremely detailed explanations, answered all of my questions, and gave great advice regarding what options I had with my AirPods. It's very refreshing witnessing an employee with a great attitude that genuinely cares about helping customers. Mark was extremely helpful and gave great recommendations and suggestions. My in-store experience was OK. I walked in with a problem with my computer, and was seen quickly. They told me my motherboard had to be replaced and I had to pay $750. My warranty ended. My computer was going to get delivered back to me in a few days. I'm living in a neighborhood with porch stealers and in an adu in the back of a main house. Apple said it's easy to work with FedEx to ask them to hold on to my package for me to pick up at my local FedEx location. This was not the case at all. I reluctantly signed up for FedEx status updates, and so that I could have the ability to make requests to make sure I can receive my package. I had to agree to terms of service where I give up all privacy and allow FedEx to trace every action i take on all of my devices. Thanks Apple and FedEx! At no point before the delivery, with apple or FedEx, was I able to make any request for the Package to be held for me at a location. FedEx said that my shipper made it so I cannot request to receive my shipment anywhere other than my address, and that I would have to sign for it. There was no way to avoid a wasted attempt at coming to my address and not getting my package. On my newly created FedEx profile, I requested that the deliverer call me when they come so that I can come out and get the package. That never happened. And The person in the front house did not get contacted either. I waited around the whole morning to get my computer back being away from it for 4 1/2 days. I ended up driving half an hour to glassel park, rather to then to my local FedEx location to pick it up after 6pm. What a nuisance. I asked if there was anything else I could have done differently to have actually received my package at my house. And the woman who gave me the package said that sometimes FedEx drivers just don't bother to read notes left for them. It's at their discretion. There are standard alternative options with FedEx with receiving packages one can usually choose that Apple did not allow. If I didn't make this trip to glassel park, I would likely have to go through this fiasco again every day for the next five days of attempts or something of driving by to my address, not contacting me, and then texting me a delivery was attempted, until my package was sent back to the shipper in Texas. Apple needs to treat their customers' time with respect. Who has time to kill half a day to wait for packages to come or then travel an hour to faraway FedEx depots to retrieve them? Background On Visit: I had a company phone that needed to be repaired. So I made an appointment for the genius bar to diagnose the problem and get the phone repaired. Genius Bar Location/Parking: Located next to Athleta. Parking can be found in nearby parking structures or meter parking along Colorado Blvd. Ambiance: Very clean, bright, and chic. It's like a mecca for apple enthusiasts. Service: Service was great. Came an hour early from my scheduled rsvp time of 515pm. Troy, at the genius bar, was very friendly, and attentive. He reassured me that the company phone would be in good hands and told me to come back at 515pm to pick up the phone. When the time rolled around, Troy was true to his word and the phone was ready for me to pick up. Once I inspected the phone, I was amazed of how spanking new it looked! Bravo! I ran into the Apple store in a hurry. My office down the street had a fire alarm and I ran out with my laptop but left my charger behind. I needed a second charger anyway. Nancy saw me immediately as I entered and waved me over. Thankfully it wasn't too busy at 3 PM on a Thursday. I told her exactly what I needed we both hustled over to the charging cables and adaptors for my laptop. She knew which one was correct for my laptop without even needing to look it up. She also had great attention to detail pointing out to me if I needed 1m or 2m cable. Glad she spoke up! 1m would have been way too short. She charged my card and I was on my way. I had recently put in an in store pick up order for the new IPhone 15 Pro Max, when my time came to pick up I walked in but had trouble picking up my order, for some reason my order was put on hold, I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to pick up my order but I had help from an employee, I did not catch their name but they were female with colorful eyes and had a septum nose ring on, this employee went above and beyond to ensure my order would be handed to me on time, they got on the phone and spoke with their online order providers and got my order approved for pick up in less than 30 minutes, I got my iPhone and I was very happy with the service and will for sure be returning to this store in the future! read more

This is the first time I've gone to this location. Usually, when you walk into an Apple Store, you're greeted right away and are asked what you needed for the day's visit. I had to look for an employee to get myself checked in. They brought me to an Apple employee right away...her name is Dewey. She was pleasant enough. She took care of all my trade ins and the new watch I wanted to purchase. I do agree with most of the reviews on here, the employees talk amongst themselves and that seems to be the problem because they ignore the customers walking in. They also talk while helping a customer which isn't a problem when it's just "Hey what's up?", but a full on conversation is an issue. Overall visit was ok, but I prefer my Century City location. read more

They probably had to rethink the store layout. Anyway, it should be reopening soon based on the fact they said it would be closed for a couple months and we're reaching that point. It's an Apple store like any other mall-sized store IMO -- would like to see some more alternative products in there -- I miss when Apple used to carry bags/backpacks, these days it seems like there isn't much of a reason to go in unless you're buying an iphone, Mac, ipad, or airpods, or a small selection of accessories for JUST those things. Checking out with something you want to buy is also always kind of confusing lol -- this is an issue with modern apple stores in general, not just this location. Made an appointment same day online for repair on an apple 11 for 6:35pm. We got there at 6:15 and was told to check in at 6:30. They have you read through a poster to see if you have any signs or symptoms then check your temperature. They sanitize non-stop by the way. In every table they have hand sanitizers and alcohol pads readily available. After each guests, they wipe down everything. Nice, friendly staffs, and on point. I did a walk in appointment on a Saturday (I know, crazy and not advised). I had an appointment for the following Tuesday but just couldn't wait because my battery swelled to the point that it was going to explode. I called Apple care beforehand to contact the store and they advised to go in Saturday around noon for a 30-60 minute wait. When I arrived at 11:30am they said the wait time would be over three hours to check in. I was grateful that they were able to squeeze me in a little sooner because I had a newborn at home. I was able to check in and leave within 90 minutes (the time I would have waited just to check in). Overall, it was a good experience. Be sure to make an appointment ahead of time (if possible). If you've never been to this store in old town Pasadena, there is valet parking right outside or a free 90 minute parking structure off of De Lacey (flat rate after 10pm). read more

When I went to the store today, I didn't know the check-in process is done outside the store because there was no sign or instruction at the door to tell you that you have to check-in before you get in to the store. There was a guy at the door to take body temperature, so I went to him to take the body temperature, and Joy said "uh uh uh uh!" like the way how you usually tell your pet "No!". I was so offended but I was still trying to be nice. But she was still talking to me with very rude attitude. The entire check-in process was like a criminal answering police officer why the hell I was trying to come to apple store!!!!! Actually I was there to return a MacBook Pro 13 and get a MacBook pro16. I visited the Apple shop (Pasadena, California) on February 6, 2023, in order to purchase an iPad. The salesperson informed me that there was a huge line in the store and that I would have to wait for a free employee for 15-20 minutes. If we knew which specific model of iPad I wanted, he also suggested ordering online and selecting "pick up in store," which would take no more than 30 minutes. We went to the café after placing our order online. We went back to the Apple store after 40 minutes. We would have to wait no more than 10 minutes, according to the same consultant. Our order ultimately took 2.5 hours to arrive. To find out why we were being kept waiting for so long, we dialed customer service. Online orders actually take at least two hours, it turns out. The consultant-seller duped us blatantly! Even the general manager was not present when we picked up the order from the Apple shop. Simply put, we didn't have someone to voice our complaints to. To pick up the simplest order, we had to wait 2.5 hours rather than the anticipated 15-20 minutes. It's outrageous that such a large firm as Apple would provide service at this caliber. The customer shouldn't be misled by the staff or forced to wait needlessly. read more

The Genius at the counter told me i can't fix the screen because the back camera lens is broken so i have to replace the whole iPhone. so came in today to repair it and they only fixed the screen not replace my iPhone like they should have. So i said i want it replaced they said i have to use my send incident from my Apple care + and it will be an additional $100.00. So i had it done anyways because i could not use my rear camera without it! So the Apple NON Genius Laura Dewey told me basically she is god at the Apple store no one is higher. Had an appointment to have my phone checked after a "liquid damage" message popped up and was no longer able to charge my phone with a wall charger. The check in process was quick and I appreciate how closely they follow all CDC regulations. I was then greeted by Claudia. She was extremely nice and helpful and explained to me that I did not have liquid damage (sigh). Somehow there was a piece of plastic stuck which was not allowing the charger to work properly. The process to even begin to buy something is convoluted and confusing. Suffice it to say you have to schedule an appointment in advance to even get service. I did not appreciate the attitude of the staff that acted like I should know everything about how to order something there. Treat the customer with some decency and they might even buy something.
