It's not overwhelming, and it's not bare -- it's just well-stocked with the things you actually need. Whether it's plumbing parts, paint supplies, lawn equipment, or random hardware pieces that big-box stores somehow never have in the right size, this place tends to have it. What really sets it apart is the staff. Instead of wandering around trying to decode aisle numbers, someone actually steps in and helps. And not in a pushy way -- in a knowledgeable, practical way. You explain what you're trying to fix, and they help you think it through. That kind of hands-on guidance makes a huge difference, especially for home projects that aren't straightforward. There's also something refreshing about the pace. It doesn't feel chaotic or corporate. It feels steady and reliable. You can get in, find what you need, and leave feeling confident that you bought the right thing. If you value knowledgeable help, a solid inventory, and a store that feels connected to the community rather than just operating in it, Lorden True Value Hardware delivers. It's dependable, well-run, and exactly what a hardware store should be.

We walked in on a Sunday afternoon in need of some pull strings for lights, a tarp, and some sort of hammock-hanging mechanism. Tyler was very helpful and knew exactly where to go for each item on our list. Unfortunately, Aubuchon does not have any hammock hanging kits specifically, but Tyler told us a few different ways we could hang it to the trees, showing us rope, S-hooks, etc. We picked out our items and then stood in line to pay behind a customer who was being helped by Kayla, a cashier. After that customer left, Kayla walked away from the register we were in line at and went to a different register and asked the man standing in line behind us if she could help him. I'm sorry? After helping that customer, it was finally our "turn." She offered no apology nor explanation as to why we were skipped. She just rang up our items and we left. Please help Kayla (and all employees) understand the purpose and importance of customer service. Tyler seems to have it down.

Scott and team not only know this business they are committed to serving. I've shared earlier stories and here is another. This past weekend I brought in a pair of garden shears I thought I'd lost and it turned out I left them in the garden all fall and winter. They were rusted beyond recognition and I was so embarrassed to bring them to Scott to see what was possible. Scott smiled as I showed him my buried treasure and asked if I had a few minutes to wait. With that he disappeared into his workshop with the rusted shears. Not even 10 minutes later Scott reappears with an even bigger smile. The shears are good as new and we both wish we had a before picture ( see the after picture below). So there we have it friends. Another memorable moment in my Vanderhoof Hardware journey. If you're looking for attentive customer service at a well-stocked and fair priced non-big box…read morehardware store, this is the place! Uncommonly great service with extremely helpful and friendly staff are common here at this particular Aubuchon store, that's for sure. So why spend precious time trying to track down a 'specialist' at a big box orange or blue home goods store when you can get immediate attention, helpful advice, good value and service here for 99+% of all your home hardware needs? In particular, staff members like Joe, Matt, John and Susan are extremely responsive, friendly and go the distance when asked for help finding something...or even helping to make sure your product solution 'works' and is the 'right fit'. I was so moved the other day with this one case in point. I needed just a few small bolts, nuts and washers -- but for an urgent 'realtime' equipment fix at home (leaf machine). Not only did Matt help me find matching sized fastener equivalents, he along with Joe actually helped by manually trimming the unusually sized bolts on my machine to exact precise length. Such follow-thru and diligence! All that for just a handful of @ 30-cent per bolt parts!! Now where can you get THAT level of personalized customer service and remedial tailored response elsewhere?? Duty "above and beyond" the call of customer service for sure! So they "sold me" and I will always shop first here and get my hardware needs met. And hence this 'shout-out'. So you too should shop here and get great individualized service like I did along with a full range of inventory/goods fairly priced! Thank you Aubuchon! Glad you're there.
