If you're looking for attentive customer service at a well-stocked and fair priced non-big box hardware store, this is the place! Uncommonly great service with extremely helpful and friendly staff are common here at this particular Aubuchon store, that's for sure. So why spend precious time trying to track down a 'specialist' at a big box orange or blue home goods store when you can get immediate attention, helpful advice, good value and service here for 99+% of all your home hardware needs? In particular, staff members like Joe, Matt, John and Susan are extremely responsive, friendly and go the distance when asked for help finding something...or even helping to make sure your product solution 'works' and is the 'right fit'. I was so moved the other day with this one case in point. I needed just a few small bolts, nuts and washers -- but for an urgent 'realtime' equipment fix at home (leaf machine). Not only did Matt help me find matching sized fastener equivalents, he along with Joe actually helped by manually trimming the unusually sized bolts on my machine to exact precise length. Such follow-thru and diligence! All that for just a handful of @ 30-cent per bolt parts!! Now where can you get THAT level of personalized customer service and remedial tailored response elsewhere?? Duty "above and beyond" the call of customer service for sure! So they "sold me" and I will always shop first here and get my hardware needs met. And hence this 'shout-out'. So you too should shop here and get great individualized service like I did along with a full range of inventory/goods fairly priced! Thank you Aubuchon! Glad you're there. read more

This store never fails to disappoint me. From the lack of anything I ever go there looking for. The awful store layout and the lack of staff out on the floor to ask for help. I leave here disappointed more often than not. Ok for propane refills. The former Maynard location was better in all ways. Better selection, better layout and better staff. read more

Absolute best customer service I've seen in a long time. I called in morning because I discovered a difficult to find Yeti wheeled cooler and this place was last to have it anywhere around and not only did these guys hold it for me, they held it all day till 530pm even though 3-4 other people offered cash on the spot. Just awesome service and I'll be sure to recommend this place to anyone!! read more

Went to pick up bark mulch and was very surprised to see 'My Pillow' pillows for sale, displayed by the cash register check out area. Weird to see a hardware store selling anything bedding related, but especially when it's going out of it's way to carry a brand that has thrown its full support behind Donald Trump. Very strange choice. Won't be back. read more

Unlike the nearby Ace hardware, it does not always smell of natraul gas. Good selection of weird hardware as well as more mainstream stuff.

Curious service with a smile. Checkout is a little strange during COVID-19. Stock is abundant, but finding it quickly is difficult. read more

This used to be my go to hardware store when they were in Maynard, but the stow location is off my beaten path. I swung by today and the Stow store is bigger and better than the old location, but the staff is still friendly and helpful. They will carry your heavy bags of fertilizer to your car for you! I would give them 5 stars if they were still in Maynard. read more

The place was ok. They had what I needed and the gentleman was pretty helpful. From the lady at the cash register, you could feel the "don't bother me and ask me too many questions" vibe. You know the type. Otherwise, it was all right but I probably won't make the trip back there and just go to Ace in the future. Oh and none of the employees were wearing masks. Almost 2 years into this pandemic. Yeah. No thanks. read more

I gave this store five stars primarily because of my interactions with their manager. I went in their last week to buy some window screen and the manager noticed me walking around and asked if he could help. He showed me where the items were and also informed me that if I put them in a free bucket, I would get 25% off since it was their weekend sale. I hadn't noticed the sign announcing the sale on the way in, so this guy saved me 25% just because he felt like treating a customer well. They also seem to have a good selection of tools and hardware for such a small town store. Good job. read more

Kevin H was very helpful! I asked where to find the leather man tool kits. He took me right to them and explained about all the options in the selections available! I was able to get in and out very quickly and to get the quality of tool that I was expecting! This is how service should be at all locations, especially hardware stores! Way to go Kevin H! read more

I have shopped at this store for a long time. Most of the employees are very helpful and very kind, but the manager is rude. I bought a tarp, said I wasn't sure about what size I needed to cover a cord of wood. The very kind cashier said no problem, just bring it back if it is too big. I came back in 30 minutes with the tarp. I folded it back up the same way it was packaged. The manager came over and asked me in a stern tone what the problem was. I explained to him that it was too big and he said in a degrading tone, what's the matter you can't measure? I said apparently not. He said well that's pretty dumb, anyone knows what size a cord of wood is and you bought a tarp that is twice the size, I shouldn't even take it back. I said, I do not know what the size of a cord is and he rudely rattled off the measurements. I apologized and walked out. I will never return to this store again. I do like the other employees, the cashiers, the man in paint is awesome, but the manager? Tall bald man, no thanks. read more

I bypass the "Big Box" stores for this store because of the people. Never have they been anything but helpful, willing to take whatever time was needed and made sure I got what I needed, not just what they wanted to sell. Great neighbor and terrific assistance. read more

I am an experienced (read "old") do-it-yourselfer, and this place is way better than HD or Lowes. They have an extensive inventory of everyday items. The hardware section is particularly well stocked with fasteners and oddball items like snaprings, anchors, etc. Best is that the staff is really helpful, although some are more knowledgeable than others. I got the the best price on a Weber grill here too. read more

I've yet to have a good experience at this location. Both the last time and this time that I went in, they were out of trash stickers. Today, I asked if there were other places to purchase the stickers, and the guy - a middle-aged dude - shook his head, "Nope." When will they get some more in, "Uh, later this week, I think." Of course, come to find out, there are about 5 locations across town. Another time, I came in ~10 minutes before closing in search of pond rocks. I was told that they were out, but then another employee overheard my request and he said he'd go out back and check. I waited...and waited...closing time came...and the manager came out and said, "You need to leave now, we've closed." I told him that I was waiting for someone (I made the mistake of describing him as having a beard, and glasses - as it turned out, that described everyone on staff that day). Anyway, I paid twice as much as what I'd have paid at Lowe's, and got ten times the hassle. It's not worth my time or aggravation to use this place. read more

I worked with Kevin to place an order for our company and he was so helpful! He quoted me in at a much lower price than anyone else I could find and got everything in the next day. It was an awesome experience and I know I'll go here in the future just because of it. read more

Like the other reviewers have said, the staff here is outstanding. They are very friendly and go out of their way to help you out. Every time we've gone here we've had the same good experience, and have always found what we needed. read more

Was much better as an Ace Hardware. Attitude of salespersons is awful. Have taken our business elsewhere. Used to use it almost exclusively. Now we use it only in an emergency. Note that many of the other reviews were written when this store was Stow Ace Hardware. Then it was a great place to go with wonderful salespersons. read more
