Local place. I would recommend going during apple season. It's basic food, salads and sanwhiches. Service is nothing to write home about. I got the french dip. The beef was chewy, dark, and kinda gross. I'm sure the applesauce is fresh during apple season but it tasted like regular grocery applesauce to me! read more

We stopped here for a quick lunch after blueberry picking. I ordered a Turkey Reuben with potato salad. The Turkey on my Reuben was not lunch meat, it was fresh cooked Turkey. The potato salad was perfect PA Dutch style. The fries were fresh cut and really good. Service was quick and our waitress was friendly. The desserts sounded good but we were too full. Next time! Very nice home town restaurant. Excellent service. Delicious food. Come to the Apple Bin and meet all the locals and relax and enjoy.

Food was bland and small portions. Service was very slow. We were about to walk out after waiting 15 minutes for someone to get us a menu. Then waited another 15.minutes before taking our drink order. As for ambiance, non existent. Not sure why they call it a bakery, they had a display case with very few items to offer, none of which looked appetizing. read more

The interior could use some upgrades...I think they were representing all major holidays at once in our late August visit. However, the service was pretty good, and the food was good, classic diner eats. I got blueberry pancakes, bacon, and two eggs over medium. I think they fry their bacon. Delicious! Pancakes were packed with blueberries and they popped in my mouth...yum! The eggs were well cooked, and come out unseasoned so you can season them yourself. Coffee tasted pretty fresh. The real winner was the bill was $12 for my husband and I. TWELVE DOLLARS! I will agree with another Yelp review on here, however, that said there is a lack of apple-themed food. This wonderful, homey restaurant is open for breakfast (so inexpensive) and lunch. Call ahead to see if they are open for supper on Friday and Saturday. The quality of the food is excellent (don't believe the "Stacys." The portions are huge and the service staff is great. My only complaint is that the coffee is a tad weak. Breakfast is always pretty good if you can get the service. I walked out twice now and there won't be a third. Try to go around ten when things slow down a bit but it keeps getting worse. It seems like management likes to keep the bad help and run the good off. The last time about a week ago there was a man in there that actually yelled "I'm ready " twice just to pay his bill. The only person to be working was a girl that was more interested In counting her tips. I'm a local/ local and she better hope something never opens around her or she'll be S.O.L. This was a surprise of a breakfast place. The menu was typical diner food but very enjoyable. Our waitress was great attentive but not overwhelming. Coffee was more than decent portion sizes were generous for the price. I paid 8$'s for my plate of food but had the church special which was three eggs, choice of meat, home fries (I added onions and cheese), two pieces of toast, fruit, coffee included, small juice and I added a side of bacon. It was filling and pretty good. Food was a touch cool, but I would go back if I am in the area again. A lot of locals are crazy about this place, but I just haven't seen the same things. The homemade fries and whoopie pies are good and my husband likes the chocolate chip pancakes, but nothing else has been really special. The place gets packed for breakfast though, so I am sure there is something that I must be missing. read more

Very disappointing. Quality of food was awful. My husband had a shell in his scrambled eggs. Syrup on my pancakes was horrible. Found out while paying way too much for what we ate that they only serve sugar free syrup. I ordered a large chocolate milk. $3.00 for a 4" tall glass. We will not be back. Such a shame. read more

this is really the only place in or around arendstville to get food if you don't want to travel to gettysburg. unfortunatly this place is awful. the food takes so long to get there, and it is below mediocure. the waitresses are awful. they don't awknowledge you when you walk in the door. they take ages to get to you and get your drinks. they are rude. i'm a waitress so i'm ver picky about service. i do not recommend this place at all. take the extra 20 minutes and go to mcdonalds before you go into this place. read more
