We ate here once and because it was so good we came back again. Delightful little place full of charm. Reminded me of the bookstore in You Got Mail called Shop Around The Coerner. I had the Vegetable Omelette and the Southwest Omelette. Both were excellent. Don't be in a hurry here - enjoy the efficient and friendly service and atmosphere.

Neat mom and pop place. Stopped by because of the yelp review. Definitely a small place with lots of locals. Not a lot of seating which isn't a bad thing. The staff was helpful and definitely point out some great food. I had the house sandwich. Definitely comfort food. The portion was perfect and would come back just for just that. Yelp did not let me down!

For an outstanding breakfast, cozy and quaint atmosphere and spectacular customer service, you MUST visit The Village Book and Table. Best French Toast in PA. Just like Mom used to make. This is a must visit restaurant (more than once) anytime we visit Gettysburg!!!!

As far as small town breakfast places go, this is as good as it gets. Everything is a mishmash of old furniture, country decorations and just a smattering of patriotism in a tip of the hat to nearby Gettysburg. The breakfast menu has all the usual suspects. Locals abound. I think I sat in a counter stool that "belongs" to a local, because the old guy sat right down next to me and kind of gave me the stinkeye...but didn't say anything about it. :) If I lived around there, I would be an every day regular.

    Club with fries.

Consistently good food. Great staff. Step back in time where restaurants were ran by people who cared about their customers and food served.

Very good breakfast and lunch. It is a real mom and pop place. Many locals gather there daily. I think open 6am until 2pm. Friendly staff.

Located about 20 minutes outside of Gettysburg proper, we had reservations for a weeknight dinner. We arrived to the very large parking lot in front of the massive historic red building restaurant and barn along with a whole lot of other people coming in to experience this evening at Hickory Bridge Farm. Once inside there were tons of people waiting to get called, and there are crackers and cider to enjoy while waiting. Once your name is called, you pass through another set of doors into the MASSIVE open dining area with wood ceilings and pillars and a sea of tables. Most of the tables were large round or super long wooden tables just filled with families. We were just a party of two, but they also have smaller tables for us as well. Our server was Ashley and she was absolutely wonderful from start to end this evening. Now about how this all works.... You pay one price, except for cocktails, and the food begins to roll out to your table...and keeps coming! Dish after dish was placed on our table, to the point we had to teeter some right on the edge. It's all family style service, so nothing is portioned out. It's large dish after large dish after large dish...LOL The food we were served on this evening was good home cooked items. They start you off with spiced peaches, and salad, then came Chicken, brisket, potatoes, veggies, bread, etc... and of course you have to have dessert which they offered us two, of which they said, "you can have one or the other..or both... OINK I say... Hickory Bridge Farm is not fine dining, it is absolutely a good old fashion down home family dining experience. Every table was having a great time, and the food was good and certainly filling...And the attention from everyone there from beginning to end was the best.

The help was very kind and seemed to take pride in this darling little cafe style restaurant. My husband wanted a coffee and he really enjoyed it. I was impressed by the extensive menu. It's also very creative! I felt like the value was there for the money too. I enjoyed my experience so much I mentioned it to my son and daughter. They both went there later in our trip and really enjoyed the menu and the experience. Crepes are a unique not easy to find treat! My family also enjoyed the food and experience here too! I can't remember which? I'm happy to report that the food and the service with new owners at the new diner is excellent. My wife and I both had the fried fantail shrimp entrée which comes with a salad and two sides. The shrimp were quite juicy and tasty and had a nice crunch so they must've been coated with among other things some panko breadcrumbs. The portion was generous as you will see in the photo. Both salads were good, but the greens were just a little tired. French fries were also quite nice and covered with kind of a tasty and crispy coating of some kind. Service was good and we never had to wait very long for anything. The diner has two display cases full of delicious, looking desserts... But we were too full to eat anymore. The bill for the two entrées + 2 soft drinks was $39 + an $8 tip. Good, solid diner food and I would return in the future with no reservations.
