Great bbq in Miami. This is probably one of the best bbq places I have been to. You can try a little of everything if you get a tray as you. There almost always is a wait here, but it's normally fast. There's plenty of seating inside and it has a solid bbq place vibe that you would expect from this place. The meats were all juicy and flavorful. The service was great since there were many servers working.
Legend says that after church on Sundays, once the soul has been fed, there remains one final mission: Feed the body. And that journey usually leads us to Apocalypse BBQ. This Sunday, Jamal behind the bar and Jason, the bar manager, guided us through the Apocalypse like seasoned survivors. Great recommendations, great drinks, incredible BBQ, and somehow an even better experience. There are plenty of places in Miami to get a good meal, but very few become part of your story. Apocalypse has become one of those places for us.
Food was great as always. My wife got the brisket. I tried the Wild Boar burger. The burger came out cooked perfectly MR. This was the first time I've had it. It was amazingly delicious. The Cowboy Candy on it was absolutely delicious just the right amount of spice and sweetness! From the host to the management everyone was very nice and friendly. The restaurant is always well kept with the amount of foot traffic, they do a great job keeping the place clean. Jean was our server, he is very knowledgeable of the menu. He answered our questions without any hesitation. And was truly trying to make sure we order everything we needed.
I am a regular here every single week, me and my girlfriend always come for the $1 wing specials on Wednesdays and we always end up getting more than just wings lol, but everything we ever have here is always mind blowing. The lunch specials for the weekdays is great, the Brisket Chopped Cheese and the Cluck Norris Chicken Sandwich are great for the lunch special price and honestly you can't beat it. Service here always makes you feel at home, you come more than once and they instantly remember you and will welcome you back and it really makes you feel like you're apart of a family over there and that's something I definitely love about it here. Ambiance is nothing short of a big ol family dinner party vibe, all around fun with great music playing. Apocalypse is my second home and me and my girlfriend always have an amazing time here!
I want to start off this review on a personal note and big statement for myself. I do not care for BBQ typically, but this is the BEST BBQ joint I've ever, yes, EVER tried. My group of 3 walked up to the outdoor hostess, we gave a name for our group, it was about a 30-40 minute wait. It was expected since word of mouth was passed along that this place usually has a wait to be seated. Once we were sat on a booth, we were greeted by the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable waiter, sad to say, I don't remember her name, but the customer service was all the way there! When I scanned through the menu, I wanted to dig all the way in. Keep in mind, I was a bit skeptical since I am not the biggest BBQ fan. For starters we ordered their brisket bacon, brisket wings, and a brisket empanada. We were also told there was a daily special, pulled pork mac & cheese french fries so of course we got an order. Their menu has changed since my initial visit, but it was all a la carte style; we created our own "platter" consisting of Mac and cheese, cafecito ribs, sausage, brisket, corn bread, coleslaw, elote, and maduros. Ooo weee! That's a mouthful and it was damn good. Their brisket meat is smoked to absolute perfection, has a crisp and is still extremely juicy (we ordered lean style). The flavors are all the way there and just explode in your mouth, you can't go here and NOT order their brisket, like cmon. I was very impressed. Now, I'm a carb junkie, so I was a major fan of their Mac and cheese and corn bread. I even took some to go, it was that delicious. You will be in the best food coma after all of that, I know I sure was! Though the food was phenomenal, I have to give up to the front and BOH. The real MVP's. You really see the staff work as a team, it's a sight to see. Our waiter, expos, and manager walked over to our booth throughout our munch time and asked if we were good, how our experience was, etc. The attentiveness was present- that's a lost art in Miami lol, so bravo! Great ambiance, food, and above all things customer service!
I arrived in Miami one day before my cruise & my friend highly recommended recommended this restaurant! We arrived around 6:45 and there was a 20 min wait, it didn't take that long & they offered free beer & water while we waited. It was off to a great start! Our server was kind and polite however it took her forever to take our orders and come back with the checks. She told us after we'd order that there can only be three checks which is fine but I wished it was communicated sooner. I'd never in my life been so irate with poor/slow service. It was insane!! It wasn't even that busy. The food itself is 5 stars!! I sampled the loaded fries with mac & cheese, & pulled pork. It was to die for! The brisket & cheese empanadas were delicious. My entree was the half rack of ribs and loaded mac & cheese it was everything!! SN: they don't do online or call in orders, just a FYI.
I would also see this place being promoted online and decided to check it out to see if it was worth the hype. Let me tell you, it exceeded all my expectations! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. Our server explained the entire menu to us and manager even visited our table to ask how everything was. Note: wait time to be seated can be long. Make sure to sign up in advance for their wait list on yelp and let them know when you arrive. The waiting area is in an outside tent with a fan and benches. They do provide free water and beer while you wait for your table which definitely makes them different. I really liked that they did that
Apocalypse did not disappoint! The dining area is very large and we were seated within a couple minutes of putting our name down. Our server was very friendly and constantly checked in on us throughout the lunch. We tried a little bit of everything on the menu and thought that some of the standout items were the spare ribs, brisket, and the corn bread. The flavor on the spare ribs was spectacular and very different from what I'm used to when it comes to Texas style BBQ. The brisket was very juicy and tender. The corn bread was the perfect texture/sweetness and I loved that it came in a skull shape. I definitely will be back especially on a day that they are doing beef ribs!
I was really looking forward to trying this place but did not have a great experience. For context, I do not eat red meat but I do eat chicken. We got there at 4 PM on a Friday and were told immediately that they were out of brisket and running low on chicken (isn't your whole menu like four different options of meats anyway???). I got a solo platter with the chicken and apparently it comes with two meats so i told them I will just do double chicken since i don't eat any of the other meats. They said since they were low on chicken they were trying to not have customers do double chicken but i told them i don't eat red meat and they said they would make an exception (again, just a silly situation). The food comes out and i cut into the chicken and I am of course no expert, but it was still bleeding and pinker than I would have liked. The texture was very much too soft for my own comfort to eat it. I showed them and told them I think it needed to be cooked more and they took it then brought it back immediately saying that that's how it's supposed to look bc it's smoked....but the second chicken i got was cooked all the way through and not at all like that. so basically, they did nothing to cook it more or make it more edible for me and instead just told me it's supposed to look like that (it's not) so i didn't even bother eating it. The mac and cheese was meh. Only thing worth eating was the cornbread but I would not come all the way back for just that. Overall a disappointing experience. This was on my list for a while but I would advise you to just skip it.
I had been hearing about Apocalypse BBQ for a while, so I was excited when it worked out that we were in the area and hungry for lunch at a super convenient time where there was not yet a line! We had a great experience. Our server was so friendly and went out of her way to be kind to our 4-year-old and make sure she had a good experience too. The food here is BBQ with a latin twist. For appetizers, we had the Pulled Pork Tostones and the Empanada. The Tostones came with two pieces that were loaded with pork and pickled onions. It was a ton of food. And the empanada had a brisket and cheese mixture that was so incredibly delicious. Highly recommend both these appetizers. For our meals we chose to share the 2-person platter which comes with two meats and two sides. All of the portions were huge, so this was plenty of food for both of us and to share with our 4-year-old as well (whom we also ordered French fries for). I understand the fries usually come with garlic on them, but we ordered them without since it was mostly for our child. We ordered two portions of the Cafecito Ribs. As much as we liked the appetizers, these ribs knocked it out of the park for us!! They were so flavorful. Our server had told us they are more sweet than coffee flavored, as some had expected, but I actually found them to have a really good earthy flavor that complemented its sweetness so well. These were absolutely delicious. I believe the ribs were smoked 6-8 hours I believe. They were soft and fall off the bone, and, honestly, we'll probably order the same thing next time haha. For sides we had the Abuelita Beans and the Elote corn. The platter also came with four pieces of Texas Toast. The Abuelita Beans were interesting because they had a definite latin flair. My husband, who is Puerto Rican, didn't care for the beans, but I think it's because they were so different than what he expected. I thought they were good despite the fact that I do not care for Chicharrones which they had mixed in. There were small pieces and larger ones - I accidentally ate a larger one, thinking it was a potato, hahaha. They were good.. you just have to expect the flavor. The Elote was delicious but a bit salty. The ambiance was cool too. It was inside a long rectangular building. They even had strong air vents and fans outside to keep it cooler for those waiting inline. The inside has an elevated diner feel because it's shaped like a stereotypical long diner but with updated and sophisticated decor. They also have a bar, so cocktails and beer are on the menu as well. I had a Corona). Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely to back. You can add yourself to the waitlist from the website which I imagine would be incredibly helpful too!
This was my second visit to Apocalypse BBQ, first to new location. Thankfully, there is now a waitlist to join before you arrive at restaurant. The online tracker is accurate and improved the overall experience. Mickey the server was on-point. All staff appeared happy and productively busy. Great music filled the air along with the delicious smell of food. Cafecito wings were best in Miami. Ribs fell off the bone, smoked perfectly and tasted ideally. Asked for three sauces, mustard, coffee sauce and a jalapeño mayo sauce. Pulled pork was fantastic. Beans were perfect with crunchy pork rinds within. Beer was cold and well priced. Finished meal with two fresh Cuban coffees!! All in $120. Happy to recommend.
After all the famous hype this location has... we finally made it and ate quicker than I could take pics. This yummy bbq spot is a spot that's always super busy so definitely make reservations! As someone who isn't huge on bbq, I definitely enjoyed it. The empanadas, cornbread, pulled pork & brisket was impressive. We got the family platter and we ate it up. Also, they are super loud and fun for birthdays!
I definitely understand the hype about Apocalypse BBQ!!! I've been wanting to try this place for years and finally got around to it a couple weeks ago! The evening we stopped by, Yelp was down and people were not able to join their waitlist virtually which caused the line to be even longer. But the staff were kind and passed out fries to those some of the people who were waiting outside. After a nearly 2 hour wait, we were seated and our server was great. The other servers and staff came to check on our table and the other tables around us multiple times as well, so overall I would say the restaurant gives really good service. They did well with making the decor fit the theme of the restaurant, even down to the faucets and knobs of the bathroom sinks. We were a little confused about the very loud electronic music that was playing throughout, but it didn't take away from our experience. My cousin and I ordered a half rack of cafecito ribs, the prime brisket, pulled pork, cowboy link, corn bread, coleslaw, French fries, mac & cheese and a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. The food was served within a matter of minutes which was great as we were very hungry after waiting a couple of hours, but it was also confusing because you would think the wait times wouldn't be so long if the service is so fast. Our favorite bites were definitely the cowboy link, pulled pork, coleslaw, cornbread & chocolate chip cookie, so you should definitely give those a try, but you can't go wrong because everything we ordered was delicious. The only thing I probably wouldn't reorder was the mac and cheese because it was just okay. Overall a great experience and if you're craving BBQ food, don't mind a little wait, and are in the area, I highly recommend giving Apocalypse a try! (Pro-tip if you use the Yelp waitlist it'll be much faster)

We've been hearing whispers (okay, more like loud BBQ-laced recommendations) about Apocalypse BBQ ever since their early BBQ stand days--and let me tell you, the hype is real. We finally made it out to their Kendall location and wow... this place delivers. Yes, the wait was long--like "build up your hunger to dangerous levels" long--but totally, completely worth it. We kicked things off with the brisket empanadas. My boyfriend loved them so much he ordered a second one before even finishing the first. (No shame, honestly.) I went all in with the Jefe Burger--holy flavor bomb! The sauce was next level--creamy, tangy, addictive. It's their take on a Long Island sauce (think fancy Big Mac vibes but WAY better). I'd go back just for that sauce alone. My boyfriend got the brisket sandwich and basically melted into his seat after the first bite. Smoky, tender, perfection. Sides report: Cornbread: soft, sweet, and comforting--like a Southern hug. Fries: not exaggerating--best fries I've ever had. Crispy perfection. I'm starting a petition for them to add sweet potato fries too, just to keep the side game spicy. For dessert, we shared a chocolate chip cookie and it was exactly what you want in a cookie: gooey, rich, and a perfect sweet ending to a smoky feast. Verdict? Apocalypse BBQ is the real deal. In this restaurant make sure to add yourself in the waitlist on the website because there is always a wait to get in. However, once you are on the list you are updated when you are next and it didn't take long to be called. Jarod was our server and he was super friendly and on point. Jason the manager stopped by my table and was super funny and explained the menu to us. For the appetizer I ordered the empanada and it was soo yummy. I ordered the cafecito ribs and the prime rib for the main course and it was delicious. As for the sides I had the fries, loaded Mac and cheese, baked beans and corn bread. All of the sides were delicious and shareable. For a dessert I had the cookie and it was ok, I would think they need more dessert options. All of the staff are super welcoming. There's always a wait at this place which shows how popular they are. However I've never been here when they haven't been out of something. Last time it was brisket and this time it was wings. In fact they were out of chicken for "Wing Wednesday." They did however make up for this by offering all sandwiches for $10. My drink, the atomic passion, was fire, literally and figuratively. If you like a spicy drink with a tajin rim, this is it. My husband ordered the sweet tea and sent it back because it was a powder mixed tea and a BBQ place should have fresh brewed tea. Now let's talk about the brisket empanada! You must try this. The spicy cafecito bbq sauce adds a nice kick. We each got one as an appetizer. For the entrees we had the 1/2 lb pulled pork plate and a brisket sandwich with a side of fries, mac and cheese with bacon brisket, and cornbread. Everything was served hot and fresh and was flavorful. The skull shaped cornbread bread is salted and drizzled with honey. The fries were crispy as requested and had a nice spice to them. Mac and cheese and coleslaw were both tasty. Our server Logan was attentive and ensured that our drinks were full and that we had everything we needed including extra sauces. Talk about 5 star service. From the moment you are greeted by the host to the dining experience, everyone is smiling and greeting you. Jason the manager came and introduced himself to us and even brought us a piece of brisket just to try it. Emily was our waitress and she was also exceptional. Now to the food. We got 1/2 brisket (fatty), 1/2 ribs, loaded Mac and cheese and corn elote. The ribs were fall of the bone. Everything was delicious. Then we finished with a chocolate chip cookie and I even said to Emily "all this needs is a glass of milk" and she was literally going to find me some milk. The ambiance was cool with the records playing in the background and good movies playing. Very very good experience. Secret is to get on the waitlist so you don't have to wait outside for an hour. read more

Everything was absolutely delicious. The only downfall of this place is the long wait. I went shopping at Old Navy while I waited for the text that my table was ready. But wow it was great, our server Daniel was great. He was very nice and attentive. The food was bomb! I loved the corn and the corn bread. The corn had a lime essence to it and some cojita cheese on top. The cornbread was shaped like a skull, it looked soo cute and it was sweet and salty. Now the food...I had the Jefe burger and the onions gave it so much flavor, they were melted into the cheese. The mac and cheese slapped, it had such good seasoning and flavor to it. It was also the perfect amount of cheesiness. The ribs were amazing, they taste like cafecito. Such a unique flavor for ribs, it paired really well. The sausage was a bit spicy. Overall everything was great. I highly recommend you check them out. read more

The food and vibe at apocalypse is immaculate. You might be waiting a bit depending on the time you go but it's made better with the free beer or water at the host stand. Honestly one of the best bbq you'll have. Their wings are smokey and sauced the right amount. The ribs are a must! Also, don't sleep on their sides the Mac and cheese is rich and flavorful and don't forget to grab a cornbread. read more
Just tried the new, bigger, and better location for Apocalypse BBQ, and it's fantastic. The space is a lot roomier, which makes the whole experience more enjoyable. I went on a Saturday afternoon and still had to wait a bit but nothing crazy. The food is still top notch with great smoked meats and yummy sides. The brisket and ribs are especially solid. Although I was sad to see the turkey removed from the menu. I would love to see another protein option besides beef and pork for the main meats. The only thing is chicken wings as an appetizer. They are delicious tho. Service is great too. The staff is friendly, helpful, and you can tell they care about what they do. Overall, a great spot for BBQ, and definitely worth a visit. read more

My family/friends and I have been visiting Apocalypse BBQ for years since back when they were in their smaller location and have had a wonderful experience each time! Staff as always has been extremely attentive and cheerful, even helped announce a pregnancy for one of our friends which was a beautiful moment. The food itself will always continue to be a hit, no matter which menu item you try. The pulled pork sandwich and Mac & Cheese is a personal favorite. There's something about their barbecue sauce that brings magic to our tastebuds. The best part of their menu though, are the chocolate chip cookies. Perfectly warmed and sized with zero faults at all, truly what keeps us coming back for more. Only complaint is that we all truly wish the croquetas would make a comeback Apocalypse BBQ has become a staple in our groups life and we will continue to visit time after time read more
We were seated after an hour and 20 minute wait on a Saturday around 5 PM. Thankfully, the service was great and the food was absolutely worth it. We sat at the bar--not the most comfortable--but we were starving. The brisket, pork belly, and mac & cheese were all delicious, but the chocolate chip cookie stole the show in my opinion! Since I don't live in Miami, this was a must-try spot. I'm not sure I'd return soon because of the long wait, but it's definitely worth visiting at least once. read more

Phenomenal food and gracious hospitality. We arrived around 7pm on a Saturday night to a 45-minute wait for a table for 3. My dinner companions enjoyed the complimentary beers while we waited for a table to become available. Once seated, we sampled a little bit of almost everything on the menu and the food was full of flavor! Except for the fries, these were standard fare. Our server was friendly and attentive, and so were the other staff members who answered our questions and offered their suggestions. The manager greeted our table, as well. Okay; this one knocked it out of the park for me. The food is tied with the best BBQ places in Miami. But I mean the best of the best. However the service here is impressive; they are on the ball through your whole experience. Genuinely my new favorite. The fact they have seasonal items that rotate through makes it a restaurant you can come on the regular and sometimes get something new. P.S. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT sleep on the smoked Maduros. read more
My fiance and I decided to head down to Kendall and give Apocalypse BBQ a shot. We first learned about Apocalypse on TikTok and knew we had to eventually make the trip down there to try them out. If you're coming with a large party, be prepared to wait. For just the two of us our quoted time was 1hr but from putting our name down to being seated it was more like 45min. Their menu is simple and offers the normal variety of bbq plates so there's something for everyone whether you're in the mood for a burger or ribs. They have a full bar, too. From the outside, it looks like they took over an old diner and inside they kept some of that same charm. The restaurant is quaint with booth and high top options. You can also grab a seat at the bar if that's your style. We opted to start with their wings and let me tell you - they stole the show. My fiance will tell you the ribs were better but for me, those wings were *chefs kiss* The rest of our meal included ribs, Mac and cheese, fries and two pieces of their skull shaped corn bread drizzled in honey. They use a cafecito rub for both the wings and ribs which was music to our ears because we are huge coffee lovers. Service was amazing from start to finish. We met the restaurant manager as well as a server who came to recommend a sauce to dip our fries in because like me, she normally reaches for ranch but here that wasn't an option so she put us on to their el jefe sauce which is like thousand island. All in all, if you're wondering whether they're worth the drive and whether they live up to the hype - yes and yes. read more

We tried the new Apocalypse BBQ location, and it did not disappoint! We shared a plate with brisket, pulled pork, and ribs, and everything was super flavorful and tender, especially the ribs with that coffee glaze... unreal. The new location has way more space; however, the waiting time is still an issue if you arrive starving. We waited for about an hour and a half on Saturday afternoon, but they got a waiting area with a tent and even offered complimentary beer and water while we waited. Great vibe and amazing BBQ and side dishes with a friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be back! read more

I have been hearing about apocalypse barbecue for a few years now and since I was in the area, I finally had a chance to go. We waited about 45 minutes to get in, but it was well worth the wait. The staff and managers went above and beyond with their hospitality. The bathrooms were immaculately clean, and the food was to die for. the ribs were tender. The brisket tacos were a 10 out of a 10, cornbread was salty and sweet. I wanted to try every side that they had but we only went two of us but the mac & cheese, french fries baked beans and cornbread. We're all yummy. Can't wait to come back with the rest of my family. read more

We've been wanting to go to this restaurant for the longest time! Finally went yesterday with the fam! Totally worth the wait! I am so glad to have been part of this amazingly awesome delicious restaurant!!! It was full but we only waited about 25 minutes on prime time 7:30 pm and on a Saturday night, not to mention there was 8 of us! The host a young girl her name was Isa, very attentive asked us when we arrived if we wanted water or beer to drink! WOW! That was so nice! When we were called to be seated it was quite spacious inside, dim lights and a huge long table in the back! Our server very nice too older gentleman took our order. A few of us had the Mango Lemonade which I highly recommend! So refreshing and not too sweet either. Our food came quite quickly and perfectly presented. 2 of us had the jefe burger, it was very juicy melt in your mouth with that cheesy sauce and pickles thinly sliced kind of thing. Simply delicious! The Mac & cheese regular was out of this world! So yummy! My hubby had the pulled pork sandwich and said it was awesome! My granddaughter had the cafecito ribs and she was loving it! Then of course that corn bread with that honey spread, a must on your order! My daughter had the tacos and said they were also delicious! Then for dessert we had the chocolate chip cookies! Warm and soft and fresh out of the oven!!! This was an absolute amazing,excellent, and overall delicious experience! What a great meal! read more
The hype is real! We came on a Friday as early as possible but waited about an hour for a table, which is reasonable considering it was a Friday night. We beat the huge crowd but some of the food was already sold out by the time we sat down. Between three people we shared two entrees and two appetizers. My favorite dish was the brisket, it's juicy and basically melts in your mouth. The ribs weren't my favorite but they were for everyone else. I don't usually love cornbread but I could eat this one for daysss. The saltiness paired with the syrup is a perfect mixture! I'd pass on the loaded Mac and cheese and order the regular version. The atmosphere was lively with music playing some throwback R&B, which I loved. Came around 3pm on Friday and there was a 5 minutes wait. Not bad at all after reading some reviews of long wait times! Ordered the ribs, pulled pork, maduros, loaded mac and cheese, fries, and of course corn bread! Everything was delicious but the fries and pulled pork were the stars of the show. Specials that day were beer for a $1 and $10 burgers. The manager came over as we were finishing up to check on our dining experience. Daniel served us and was nice and attentive. It's with real disappointment that I'm writing this review. My first visit was incredible--I couldn't stop talking about it, you could see it below in a previous review; So much so that when my friends from Texas came to town, I insisted we come here for dinner. Unfortunately, everything went wrong from the start. One person from our group arrived early and put her name on the waitlist and was told the wait would be about 35 minutes. We all arrived on time, yet we ended up waiting nearly an hour and a half. When we finally asked, we were told there had been a system change or some sort of issue that caused the delay. Our party of eight was seated in the back room near the restrooms, which was uncomfortably cold--freezing, honestly. It was so bad that we had to go back to our cars to get our jackets. One bright spot was our server. One member of our group knew her, and she was fantastic: attentive, knowledgeable, and quick. Unfortunately, the food didn't match the service. Everything came out cold. I was especially excited to try the ribs, and they were a huge letdown. Even the cornbread--usually my favorite--was hard as a rock. Main thing to know ! NO RESERVATIONS! Must arrive and then be seated, they have an outside area to sit while you wait. We were offered free water, soda and a free beer which was awesome. THIS DEFINES MIAMI BBQ! Everything was perfect! I was lucky enough to sample most items. The ribs were my favorite, perfect taste and texture! The Brisket and chicken were done to perfection! We passed some formidable looking smokers withy man AJ (Aaron) running the behind the scenes show. He noticed our shock and awe and chatted for quite a while with us. What a cool guy! Told us to come early Wednesdays for happy hour price wings. (The drinks are ALWAYS a great deal if you like your BOGO!) Getting on the waitlist was super easy and we were first to get sat once we got there! Hostess was nice and pleasant (: The service was a bit slow from our waiter but the chicken wings came out quick! The wings were the best thing we had and something we will come back for! Ribs were pretty good, great flavor. Turkey was good, not dry. The brisket was a little too salty for me and the cornbread was okay (Not my preferred honey on the cornbread bread). The Mac n cheese was yummy and the pulled pork was amazing! Served with homemade pickles and Texas toast, super yum! We got the cowboy sausage which was also really tasty! Least busy days and times?
If I have to guess, I would say right as they open during the week day. I went on a weekday at 6 PM (after work) and we barely had a wait time and got our food right away. It got busier once I left around 8 PM.
Many reviews say the food runs out quickly. Is there a number to call or message to check what's available before heading over to the establishment?
I tried looking for a phone number everywhere with no luck. If you find it please share. Also I believe they dont do takeout on the weekends.

Yes take out is available. Best time to go is before it opens which is 11 am I'd go before that
Came Saturday 7/22 at 5:15pm. Not taking any guest, closed for private event. Came last weekend and they ran out of all smoked meats. We drive from Downtown so it can be disappointing. Since no phone # is listed can you put updates on your website?
