The service is amazing, the servers are great fast, and the food tastes fresh and delicious. The brisket and ribs are my absolute favorites! The beans and mac & cheese are great, and the cornbread is delicious. They have parking outside, seating both indoors and outdoors, a bar, and a few TVs. It's a fantastic spot close to downtown to get great BBQ!
Delicious food and great service! We love this place but wish they did live bands or open mic nights, some more fun activities since we live closeby but somehow it's usually packed. I love being able to try their different sauces, their spicy one is my personal favorite. I usually get their pulled pork sandwich but they have so many delicious options to choose from. Try to save room for dessert because you're going to want to try their banana pudding!
My coworkers and I had a wonderful time at this restaurant! What a hidden gem and right next to where we work! Our service was phenomenal. We really appreciated all of our servers recommendations. Everything that we had was delicious! The ambience was perfect. It was a great space to hang out and Have some delicious dinner and drinks after work! The brisket sandwich was amazing. They cook their meat to perfection. The Frito pie was so gooey and hit the spot! The loaded tater tots were also great, I highly recommend them. The mac & cheese was probably our favorite so if you could only pick one side, I think that would be the right choice. The wings were also very good, but in comparison to everything else, I think we would pass on them next time. The mango daiquiri was amazing and so were other drinks. I wouldn't have known that this place existed if it were not for my coworker. I'm very much looking forward to coming again!
I went to hometown barbecue for lunch as I heard that they run out of the popular items if you go later in the day. Unfortunately ordering food at the desk is quite slow. There's only one person working the tablet and they struggled to keep the line moving even though it was quite long. Seating is free for all so we got a table after ordering and waited for our food. My group wanted to try as many things as possible so we ordered the brisket, char siu pork ribs, rib tips, and the sausage to eat at the restaurant. The best item by far was the brisket. It was super tender and melted in my mouth even the lean. I thought the flavor on the rib tips and the pork ribs were similar. Unfortunately, the rib tips were cold and tough which was super disappointing since everything else was hot. The sausage was solid but nothing memorable. For the price, I was expecting all of the food to be juicier, warmer, and more tender.
Delicious BBQ with a twist! A little American some Asian and some Latin flavors all combined makes for a unique and so flavorful BBQ experience. The location is definitely out of the ordinary, but the rustic unrefined look of this warehouse bay -just works. The food is the star of the show here and it definitely does not disappoint! The BBQ lovers will love the selections of meats they have to offer. We ordered a little bit of everything - perfect way to try it all out. The portions are good and definitely shareable-except for the frito pie it's so good I don't think you want to share it after the first bite.
Omg... this place is such a hidden gem! Total hole-in-the-wall vibes, but amazing! The service was great, the food was outstanding, and the ambiance felt like hanging out in your own backyard--with a bar! Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to. The brisket queso dip you could see and taste the brisket pieces and the smoke on the turkey was just perfect, can't wait to go back!
So lucky we found this place after a museum. It has a very cool vibe in a warehouse district, very industrial looking dining room, open, good tunes playing. Service isn't perfect as you order from the counter, then wait for your food, but that just gives it more takeout versatility. Beef ribs were excellent, the potato salad was delicious, I liked the unique texture they went with. The cornbread was top tier and the Mac and cheese was mid. But Overall, a wonderful place.
Three stars for a spot that gives the vibes but didn't really do much in terms of the food department. I checked out the spot for a late lunch on Sunday. The place was not really busy but the traffic was steady. I ordered the Frito pie and the Asian sticky ribs. This was my first time ordering the Frito pie. It wasn't bad but definitely not a standout. What was a standout was the pickled onions they topped the pie with. Some of the best onions I have ever had, I would put them on everything! The ribs were cooked ok, they had a very candied taste to the sauce but I still didn't care for the sauce on the ribs; it just didn't work well. Another person in my party had the chicken and they said it was dry. I tried a piece, it was ok and they were right. Both of the people in my party had the mac and cheese and they loved. It was a creamy, stovetop mac and cheese (not baked), which is not ideal for me. The restaurant is located in an industrial area and it definitely fits the area. It was a wide open warehouse space with park bench seating. The music selection was nice and added to the vibe. The service was very fast. I probably would not come back for the food. But if you want a spot that gives good vibes that are not contrary to the typical Miami vibe, you might like this spot.
Trash like omggg insulting. Besides the amazing staff the food is garbage and is served cold had to return it. It tasted like leftover from days ago they reheated and I was so disappointed after seeing the smokers out back. Ridiculously expensive for what you get honestly and would not go back or recommend.
Was leaving Miami today and wanted to grab some BBQ so I decided to try this place based off of reviews. Easy to find but not a lot of parking. I ended up having to park around the block and pay for street parking. The place is in an old industrial building. They have redid it find. but kinda weird. Staff was friendly. Food was served fast. The menu is somrwhat limited I feel. I got some pulled pork, a sausage, and the elote. but every ala carte. I wish they had a combo where you could try multiple meats and sides. I did not care for the chipolte creama on the corn. The pulled pork was fresh, good flavor. They had two Sauces on they table, one hot and one regular. Both were fine. The sausage was by far the best thing that I had. Very delicious. All in all, expensive for what is was in my opinion. Hard to recommend it or not, because I haven't been to any other BBQ in the area. Maybe I just didn't get their best stuff.
Create for catering for large group, also very spacious for if you want to eat bbq with a large group. I have loved everything from the menu, the brisket the ribs the pulled pork the Mac and cheese and the corn bread are all a must. Service is fast! One of the best in Miami in my opinion.
The broccoli wasn't seasoned (I was given salt in a sauce cup it myself)! The smokey beans had an overpowering vinegar taste..YUCK! The rib tips had cashew nut dust particles on it. The pineapple refresher wasn't refreshing at all! It was tart and bitter! The service provided by Andre was terrible. There was a black girl employee sitting off to the side by the smoker eating and licking her fingers. She went right back to the food prep area and proceeded to get back to work. When it was noticed that we left with 80% of the food on the table, no one asked what they could do to make the food and service better. I had to make a reservation and when I arrived I was the only customer in the building! The ribs (very tender), I received 4 ribs that I was charged $38 for! I would sprint, and run from this restaurant! SAVE YOUR MONEY! Pictures are shown with this review! By far thee worst $120+ food experience!
I don't know why BBQ isn't that popular in Southern Miami! Maybe it's because of a heat? Well, I just love BBQ! Smokey, charred, wood, low and slow! I had Brisket! It's sure was delicious! It's reminiscent of Texas (hometown bbq). Raise up about 4 feet high. Amazing outdoor picnic area with gravel, shrubs. When you look inside, you'll see a vast dinning hall, super clean, neat, and superb order in! The salad was divine! And the cornbread was amazingly tasty! They have: --*Featuring Hometown Cornbread with Honey! --Brisket --Pulled Pork (Sandwich) --Slab Pastrami Bacon --Turkey --Ribs: Beef + Pork + Charsiu Babybacks --Spareribs --Wood fired Oaxacan Chicken! --Tortillas Chips & Queso Dip --Mac n'cheese --Tator Tots --Smoked Sausage --Frito Pie --Smoked Wings (Chicken) --Burnt Ribs Tips --Elote Ccorn) --Yucca Bowl --Tacos: Brisket, Chicken (Oaxacan), Pulled Pork, --Banana Pudding Etc,...Beans, Charred Broccoli It is a lovely place to eat!

Overpriced for what you get ! The brisket was bone dry , the Mac and cheese was rock hard and the banana pudding was literally the worse I've ever had in my life! The food was even cold . I was excited to try this place but was completely let down. Save your money and go elsewhere ! The service was nice , the cornbread was delicious but that was about it! Honestly don't try this place unless you wanna spend $100 on small portions and subpar food . I will not be coming back. read more

INCREDIBLE BBQ! So scrumptious and so absolutely addictive it's impossible to stop once you get going! Sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful Miami sunshine outside the back of the restaurant. The biggest surprises that were culinary standouts were the Oaxacan Chicken and Charsiu Baby Back Ribs...food was so good we wanted to include the chef in the will! Also not to be glossed over by any means, the brisket had a wonderful bark, a fantastic portion and a perfect cook. We loved the Pulled Pork and the Frito pie was a hitter and made me reconsider the meaning of life. Let's not forget about the sides: the Smoked Pit Beans with the Smoked Pork were succulent and the Hometown slaw had a nice spin on it by not being so mayo centric. If I lived in Miami, I'd happily give them all my money on a regular basis so wander down and see what I'm talking bout' if you don't know already. read more
Hometown bbq .... Wings are just okay Baked beans are very good but on the heavy side. Brisket was perfection. Nice smoke and very tender. Corn bread is definitely a must order item. Pull pork is good but the coleslaw overpowers it. I would come back based on the Brisket and corn bread. Everything else was average compared to other miami bbq joints. read more
This spot opened literal blocks away from my house and I've come a few times where I can write an honest review. Located in Allapattah, there's parking right in front with seating outside and inside. The staff is nice and there's a bar with delicious drinks. I've tried literally everything and it's all delicious. The brisket is among my favorite. Nice, tender, and juicy. The wings taste smoked and flavorful. The sausage is also great. Now the Mac and cheese is bomb! The baked beans, cornbread, and slaw is also a hit. We also got the banana pudding which wasn't the best I've had but I'm happy I tried. Spot is very chill and there's food comes out rather fast. It's great to come and share with friends or family. It's rather on the pricey side but you truly get what you pay for. Great meats, good vibes, good drinks. FYI - I've also ordered for takeout and it's just as good as eating in. read more

Friends recommended this spot as an authentic barbecue place, and it did deliver. The pastrami bacon was the standout for me, absolutely tasty and delicious. The brisket was good as well, though I wish there had been more sauces to pair with it. The restaurant itself is spacious with a very casual vibe. Just a heads-up: as with many barbecue places, you'll probably leave with a smoky smell lingering on your clothes. Overall, it was a decent experience, but next time I'm in the mood for barbecue, I'll probably try a different place. read more

My and my friends love this place and regularly come here. Everything we've had from the menu has been great. Our go to are brisket, wings, and broccoli. The drinks are good too and I like their old fashioned. We also had an experience with hosting a 20+ person event in the outside area and we've had a great experience with the staff. All the food came hot and the staff was nice. The only drawback that this place has is that I believe it's a little too overpriced for barbecue, especially considering that you order at the counter and then the waiter brings it to you. It's not obnoxious but it's definitely Miami priced if you know what I mean. read more
This is one of my favorite spots to take people in Miami. You may be thinking, BBQ in Miami..? That's what I thought at first too. I came a skeptic but left a believer. The brisket is king here. The tacos are made with homemade flour tortillas, which are a standout here (yes, flour tortillas- you read that correctly). The brisket taco is my favorite here. The pulled pork taco is pretty good too. The brisket I've gotten twice and once was incredible. The other time I think we must have gotten a slightly drier piece. It wasn't as tasty. The watermelon salad is very refreshing and quite a large portion. The cornbread is excellent with hot honey on top. The keylime pie is decent. The mac and cheese is pretty good as well. Don't discount BBQ in Miami! It might surprise you. read more

If you are looking for great soul food and a relaxed vibe... Hometown Bar-B-Que is for you! It's not cheap but it's very tasty. I got the brisket taco and cornbread. My friends got the brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, pulled pork tacos and more. You order at the counter and the food comes out pretty quickly! I would recommend getting a few sides to share because everything is so good that you will want to try it all. Now for the review of my food... my taco was not huge but very tasty. I was a little nervous that it would be hard to eat because it was sliced brisket nor pulled. I have to say I was wrong!! It's was not hard to eat at all and was delicious! My other favorite menu item was the side of yuca! This has yuca bites with some sauce and coleslaw and pickled onions on top! That was soo good! The cornbread was also super tasty!! All in all it was a great meal!! read more
Decent/good bbq, friendly service, comfortable dining area. I got the Pulled Pork Sandwich, Mac n Cheese, Pit Beans, Happy Hour Elote Bites, and Spicy Ranch on the side. The sides are hearty enough that you only need one. I took half of my food home with me. I will probably come back since it's a couple blocks from Jackson Memorial where I work, and I want to try their brisket. I noticed that they have trays of banana pudding. Maybe I might order some for the next party at work... read more
A diamond in the rough! This place could easily be overlooked since it sits in the warehouse district of North Miami, but it's awesome. Vibes are great and has nice indoor/outdoor seating. We were seated immediately and the food came out minutes afterwards. Service was excellent. Would highly recommend the chips and queso along with the beef brisket tacos! THE BROCCOLI IS AMAZING. read more

After visiting Museum of Sex, I dropped in for a bite to eat. For the table we ordered Brisket, Smoked wings, Elote, mac & cheese, cornbread, an Old Fashioned, and a watermelon lime aid. Parking was available, ordering was easy and the food arrived in a few minutes. Seating was available inside one outdoors. The brisket was very tender but I wanted more favor. I enjoyed the smoked wings very much but it seemed like they were finished somewhere else as they tasted crispy. The elote was delicious, the sauce added to it was creamy, spicy and flavorful. The Mac and cheese was said to be spicy, it looked creamy to me. The cornbread was package to eat later. The old fashioned was reported as good, a little too sweet. I did not like the watermelon lime aid and I was able o get a pineapple Jarrito instead. All in all the food was good, but on the hunt more memorable eats. read more

SO DELICIOUS!! Heavy hitter with the smokey flavors in the brisket, grilled broccoli, sweet and creamy elote side. Great variety of choices on the menu, like the frito pie which was fun. We ordered delivery, and the servers packed up everything super neat and organized which was greatly appreciated. Didn't get a chance to peep the ambiance, but would love to check it out next time! read more

Outstanding BBQ. It's worth the hype, service was A+. Ambiance was very chill, open where you can see the smokers and cooks. Wings were very good with the sauce it comes with, Half chicken was Smokey, juicy and delicious & the ribs were smoked to perfection. The Mac and cheese was probably my fav out of everything i tried - one of the best Mac and cheese i have ever had hands down. Can't wait to come back and order the rib tips (they were sold out) and the beef rib which is about $58 for 1 rib but let me tell you... it looks like it can feed 3 people. I will definitely be trying out everything i didn't order next time. read more
After hearing and seeing much hype about this place I figured I'd finally check it out. My expectations were high, maybe a little too high.. My friend ordered a half pound Brisket and Mac & Cheese, I opted for the Brisket sandwich. I found the sandwich to be good but nothing mind blowing, the meat was very tender but flavor was weak at best. Sauce was required, which is a fail for me. Not at these prices. As for my friend? He enjoyed his Mac & Cheese, but did not say much about the brisket. Could it have been an off day? Perhaps, so I will end this with a YMMV read more
This place is the best BBQ food I've have ever tasted. OMG DELICIOUS!!! Please give this place a try. Second time here and it's just an explosion of flavor. The water melon salad was phenomenal. The Mac&cheese is the best I've had. The brisket there is no comparison to what I've had in my life. Do yourself a favor and please try this place out. Service amazing. Ambiance very clean and quiet, I went during the week so not sure it gets on the weekends. read more
This place is great. I don't know how else to describe it other than great, bountiful, hedonistic, and powerfully barbequean. Almost everything was spectacularly delicious and filled in that craving of needing a platter of meat. Meat things were juicy, a good portion even for four people, and came in a great variety to sample and see the amazing variety of transforming an animal into many delicious edibles. If I had to pick some favorites, it probably to have been the brisket, beans, and cornbread. Don't just stick to those, though, as you have to get a full platter of more variety to get the full experience. In addition to that, you probably also have to get the frozen pina colada they offer at the bar if you're not in the mood for slamming down a beer with it all. If there's one thing I'd change, it'd be to not get the wings--despite the great acclaim by a friend, they were rather dry outside and in and honestly you've gotta have at least have the inside moist and juicy or else it doesn't work. Other than that, eat to your heart's content and don't forget the watermelon salad to cut down all that meat and fat. read more
