We arrived and the line was literally out the door down the side walk. We gave our name took a seat outside and enjoyed the free water. After we were called in took about 25 min but we were told it would be a little of a wait, we sat down no problems at all. Our server was very helpful and pointed out some of the main dishes but I came for the brisket of course. Let me tell you the brisket is just butter melt in your mouth tender flavorful and amazing. I wish I would have ordered more before I left because it was simply amazing. My husband had the chopped brisket and he said it was good. The ribs were ok I would pass on them the flavor was fine wasn't as tender as I thought it would be but it was ok. Overall great place full of life and definitely a crowd pleaser. First time I've been back here since their food truck days and kudos to them for making it big!! Place was busy even at lunch we were sat quickly and the hostess and server were both super nice. I had the crimson marg sans the crimson but it was delish. Clarified margs are hard so I love that. We ordered both empanadas offered, the corn bread, wings (they were special of day) ribs and elote. The empanadas had good flavor but weren't as crispy as I like and only like warm. The flavor was on point just need more warmth. The corn bread looks great and is tasty but could benefit from a spread was a little dry. Now I'm not a smoked wings person but these were awesome. Crispy, just enough smoke and very hot. The og bbq sauce was our fave too. The ribs were same yummy and tender. All in all a great lunch otw to the airport. Maybe a tad pricy for hat it is but all things have gone up here recently. I busted it left work early..found a parking by 4pm and got super lucky!!! I was sat down within 5 mins, gotta be a record. But was lucky cause soon after the crowd was all there. We sat at a booth looking at all the sad sound watching us tear it up while they awaited their own turn...I regret nothing, lol. I was disappointed with the cornbread.. I thought it would have been soft and sweet instead it was just hard and sweet. I had the pleasure of visiting on a Friday afternoon for a business lunch with customers. We arrived a bit early, around 12:30 PM and although there was about a 20- to 30-minute wait to be seated, the team handled it beautifully. They offered us complimentary cold beers while we waited, which set a great tone for what turned out to be an exceptional lunch experience. Once seated, we were greeted by Daniel, our waiter, who was knowledgeable, attentive, and incredibly helpful in walking us through the menu. We kicked things off with a couple of NO MAMES Mexican beers, it was cold and refreshing, so we ordered two appetizers to share: the pork belly bites sprinkled with bacon with jalapeño. These bites were packed with flavor and the perfect teaser for what was to come. For my main course, I went with the Cafecito Ribs, which were fall-off-the-bone tender and bursting with that unique Miami coffee rub flavor. My sides coleslaw and smoked platanito maduros were equally impressive and hit all the right notes. The brisket was a little on the dry side when eaten on its own, but the flavor was still solid. I actually enjoyed the pork more -- it was tender and well-seasoned. But the real standout was the chicken wings -- they were amazing and hands down the best thing we had. Perfectly cooked with great flavor. Service was friendly and efficient. The only downside was the wait to get in, since the line is outside and it can get pretty hot. But once you're inside, it's a great experience overall. As someone who has tried BBQ in San Antonio, Austin Texas, I think I am decently qualified to critique BBQ. So for starters service was exceptional! Very friendly, attention to detail, table touches you name it. The relocation was much needed because it can fit way more occupancy than prior. Enough of the yap let's get to the review. I ordered basically everything. The wings (which were $1 a wing special which is a great deal) were good flavor with the cafecito glaze, but not crispy or juicy like I would've wanted. For the price you can't beat that though. The pork belly was super fatty and flavorful but man after two of them thangs felt like I was eating a triple chocolate brownie from how rich it was. Still great though. The sausage was extremely juicy and flavorful. No complaints. The loaded mac was okay. Honestly my Thanksgiving mac n cheese is a lot better than this but the mac needed more seasoning and perhaps more flour, sauce was a bit runny. The ribs had good flavor and were juicy and fall off the bone in one area but others were pretty dry. They were good not great. The brisket same deal. Good flavor and juicy in some areas but dry in others. The burger was probably the best thing on the menu not even joking. The jalapenos, bacon jam, and cheese were great. Just wish instead of 5 ounce burgers they were smash burgers but tomato tomatoe. Cornbread was great! Super moist and dense almost cake like and not too sweet even though there was a honey glaze. Cool skull shape too I suppose. Baked beans weren't as sweet as I liked or accustomed to. And throw some rib meat or brisket meat in there or something! Overall I would definitely come back I had a good experience. If the wait is longer than 30 min forget it. I would give it a 8/10 on a Miami BBQ scale (which is not saying much since we are not known as a BBQ city), compared to Texas, maybe a 7/10? read more

Sat at the bar so only waited about 90 minutes. Awesome for a Saturday! Anthony was an incredible bartender/waiter. The patrons are as friendly as the staff. Saturday is platter day but with only two of us dining, had to limit my meats. And yet we still had a ton to take home!!! Some cole slaw and beans to keep the carb load down and we were cruising to a perfect comfort meal. Who came out quickly and as always was perfectly prepared and looked quite nice on the platters they serve on. But good looking food isn't what satisfies, and as always, the taste did not disappoint. I don't wanna downplay the sides because they are really good even though the meat is the main event. The coleslaw is not watery and not too sweet making it ideal for coleslaw lovers. And the beans are just on another level from any place else, they are just soooooo good. I did not order the cornbread because I find it slightly dry and it's probably the only thing on the menu that I don't enjoy to eat although I will say it's probably the best looking cornbread I've ever seen. As always. I had no room for one of the delicious chocolate chip cookies. There is a tradition at apocalypse that when somebody breaks a glass they get to sing a song to the whole restaurant. One of the waitresses was kind enough to drop a whole tray of glasses and we got serenaded with her unique and wonderful take on a Justin Bieber hit . This only added to the already wonderful vibe of the restaurant. I'm going to wrap up this review, although I will add an addendum when I return on a Thursday to see their latest iteration of beef ribs, which have always been extraordinary there, but I was told has gotten even better. Love this place. Addenum: OMG the beef rib is spectacular. If food could actually be life-changing this is it; if you love, beef ribs, and you've never had these you have got to dry it.
