Lala Burgers used to be a Tuesday only pop-up at Apocalypse Barbecue, and I'm so glad they finally have their own spot now. It's great knowing that whenever the craving hits for a juicy burger, you can swing by any day of the week and get your fix. I went with some friends, and we each ordered something different ...I had the Timba burger, one friend got the Bacon, and another tried the lala. These smash burgers are about 5 ounces each, so if you're thinking of doubling up, just know it's going to be massive. I've tried the McLala's, the Classic before, and I'll admit I'm more of an Original girl when it comes to bothers. While I was hoping to love the Timba the classic is the way to go ! As for appetizers though, i am so glad we went with both! We got the queso frita with guava sauce which were perfectly crispy, cheesy, and just the right amount of sweet and savory. But the star of the night was their new special cheeseburger bacon croquetas in béchamel sauce. Holy moly, they have to keep these on the menu. They had this corndog like crispy cornflake texture on the outside with flavorful meat inside, creamy sauce, and a hint of lime that tied everything together. I'd honestly come back just for those. This was first visit to Lala's Burger as we were sadden to hear that the sushi restaurant, Fujiya was no longer there. However, we decided to give it a shot. During our first visit on a Thursday night, the restaurant wasn't very busy. The manager came by to introduce herself and explained the menu, drinks, extra burger patty is $4. I thought that was a nice touch. We ordered the queso frito bites and I wanted to like them, but my order clashed with the hot queso frito and cold guava sauce. Sauce could be warmed up. I also felt the plastic container it came in was a pretty cheap presentation. Not sure if these are even reused, as in washed or in the dishwasher, but being more environmentally conservative would be nice. We ordered our burgers with one patty. One patty is enough. Our burgers arrived. We ordered McLala, the bacon burger and a side of fries to share. Glad we got one order of fries because it was a lot of fries. And seriously, one patty is enough. The food was awesome everything tasted fresh , and you can tell they put real care into what they serve. This place is worth trying! Highly recommended , I had trepidation as I'm not big on burgers. Knowing they were smashed burgers we decided to give it a try. We're so glad we did! Small space but didn't feel overcrowded. Our server Celeste was very friendly and courteous going over the items in the menu. Last but not least , the food was delicious! Stopped by Lala's new Kendall location and it was a hit! Split the Maxwell and the Bacon with a friend. Both were delicious, had good flavor and were cooked well. We went double smash as our patty option. The Maxwell has hot honey, chopped pepperoni, and queso frito. The Bacon has bacon jam and sizzle sauce. I favored the Maxwell but neither would disappoint. Back at it again with another GonzoEats. This time smash burgers hell yea. This has been a goal for most people I know. What is the best smash burger. So I have had a few and definitely very good smash burgers. I do have a favorite chef that throws down when it comes to customize smash burgers, but when it comes to establishments this one right here right now has to be my favorite hands-down. It's a small place. It's not big but very inviting decor is good. People are very friendly. The server waiter was on point with recommendations with being engaging super cool. Now let's get to the actual stuff you guys wanna know which is the food. There's really not much I can say other than really damn good. We shared a french fry for the table and each of us got a burger. My youngest son had a regular burger with bacon and cheese. My oldest son had the McLala, my wife had just that I love the name The Timba and I had the bacon. Let me just say all the burgers looked great and they tasted great. My burger was on the chain that bacon jam was perfection. I did take out the pickle stuff. I'm not a big fan of pickles but outside of that fantastic bird and my wife's the timba super good. We also had some drinks refreshing very cool which topped off the whole meal. We were in the mood for burgers today, so I thought of Lala's. We tried Lala's at SOBEWFFs Burger Bash. (Our whole group gave Lala's our token votes). This was our first time at the restaurant. We came in at noon. Initially they only gave us the breakfast menu but we asked if we could get lunch and they brought us the burger menu. They have some great options for BF and Lunch, like our sever said 'we came at the perfect time to enjoy the best of both worlds'. We opted for lunch. We got a classic, mclala, a timba, and fries. Everything was delicious. My husband said the Timba was a perfect balance of flavors. The McLala was, , chef's kiss! My daughter loved her burger too. She got the classic plain. The best burgers in Miami now have the best breakfast, now I have to be honest I haven't actually had a burger here just yet but if their breakfast is any indication, I don't think I'm ready. Last Thursday, took a few friends here to check out Lala's before they say farewell to Lincoln's Beard before 11/23 and more onto a permanent Brick n Mortar spit in the nearby future. Great staff and ordering was simple. They guy gave great advice to choose the Bacon smash with Bacon jam and pickled jalapeños. Oh my god it was fabulous all the way around! Savory, a Lil sweet and tingly on the mouth. Soft and a little messy (thats ok). Yum! For the fries, they had quite a lot at the bottom of the bag (super nice) and the flavor was almost like peanut oil (?) IDK but tasted good and not too salty. However the texture I felt was a little overcooked or a bit tought to chew on. They weren't really soft fries. Ill have to try em again in their new location but definitely will be back!. Oh the ordering was simple and since we went early, my order was done quickly and the guy came inside to find me at the bar ordering! That will be the biggest thing missed. Search up the perfect burger in Kendall, I wondered into Lala's burgers. And that is where I indeed found it. A simple menu. A cozy restaurant. A close by location. Superb service. And what is arguably one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. I just love this place. OK, so here's why. Let's start with the menu. Now it has changed slightly since they first opened but still remains quite simple. Chicken and beef burgers. More recently the return of the Smashburger. hotdogs. Fries, onion rings, and pickle chips. And the best darn brownie you'll ever eat for dessert. That's it. Oh yeah, don't forget the homemade rolls. You can't put a burger on a better roll. Of course I'm coming here for the food. I must admit I can't really get past the bacon burger. The others are good, but the imagination that went into perfectly the balancing the ingredients on this burger resulting in just pure deliciousness earns my burger loyalty. I get it every time I come. American cheese, "sizzle sauce", onion tangiers, pickled medley, and bacon jam on top of their delicious meat. How come I'm not even sure what some of that stuff is. But somehow the combination is just the right balance of ingredients for incredible flavor in every bite. I also love the LaLa and McLala, but they just don't measure up to my favorite. And the Timba is just too weird for me. I personally can't go with cream cheese on a burger. The fried queso is wonderful. The french fries are crisp and delicious. The onion rings. Remind me of the old burger, joint onion rings. And the pickle chips are surprisingly delicious. And the brownie, ooh that gooey brownie, it is worth getting even if you're full. Just bring it home for some perfect perfection a little later. I love this place. I love the way the staff treats the customers. I love the way. The food always comes out perfect. And I love that. I've happily admitted over the years that I love a good burger and will chase down any that are argued to be the newest, most delicious one in town. This latest mission took us to Lala's, part of the infamous Apocalypse BBQ family, and can gladly admit, this little burger joint is firing on all cylinders. It's impressively run by Lala and her standout staff, and that level of attention is felt from the jump. They came highly recommended, and now I fully understand the hype. I'm calling it now, she's got herself some of the best tasting smash burgers in Kendall. The menu is tight and intentional, a short list that reflects exactly what she's good at. Our crew tried out the Bacon, the Maxwell, and the Chicken McLala together with her cheesy bites, pickle chips and onion rings. The Bacon burger was my choice, mainly because pickled jalapeños will always tickle my spicy fancy. It has a sweet, spicy finesse without being overpowering. As Goldilocks would say, it's just right, a heat level anyone can enjoy. They bake their buns in house daily, which in my book is the foundation of any great burger. Add the onion tanglers and bacon jam, and this one easily earns top tier status. Hubs let me sneak a bite of his Maxwell, and that hot honey paired with a thick slice of queso frito has serious Miami classic written all over it. The crispy chicken thigh in the McLala was so juicy and crunchy you'll wish you had room for both a smash burger and a chicken sandwich in one sitting. They also feature a solid little local craft beer lineup that sells out rather quickly, so if you see something you like, grab it before it's gone. It's the perfect pairing to wash down all that yumminess. The cheese bites and pickle chips almost filled the room we all reserved for the burgers because they were fresh, indulgent, and hard to resist. If I had one note, it would be to slightly reduce the portion sizes of the bites so the group can better enjoy the apps without tapping out early. Otherwise, this is absolutely a must try. And then there was dessert. We were told we had to try La Suegra, and I'm still not sure where we found the room, but wow, that stupendous blondie never stood a chance. Filled with guava and cream cheese and topped with vanilla ice cream and Maria cookies, it was pure chaos in the best way. One of our buddies never had a blondie here before and is now a hardcore fan thanks to Lala's very bad influence. I highly recommend everyone stop by Lala's and give them a try. Wife and I were in Miami to visiting family! We decided to try this new place to us. We tried fried cheese, Lala's burger and a regular cheeseburger. I will say that Lala's burger was more tasteful than the regular cheeseburger. The fried cheese bites were delicious. The service was a little on the slow side, however, they were packed, so I can understand the delay in getting our food. The ambience had a very simple look. First impression was great -- the staff was super friendly, and the owner even came over to introduce himself. Really nice guy, and our waitress was just as kind and attentive. We got there around 11:45am hoping to grab lunch, but were told they only serve pancakes and two breakfast sandwiches until 1pm, which was a little disappointing for a burger spot. That said, the staff tried to accommodate us and offered to add a burger patty to one of the breakfast sandwiches, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the sandwich itself was pretty mediocre, especially for $16. Nothing terrible, just not very memorable. Overall the experience felt a bit underwhelming. There was a small wait 20 min, but luckily the staff was super accommodating and we were able to snag two seats at the bar which had great service from Jess! We stopped by Lala Burgers in Kendall on Sunday evening, and it turned out to be a really solid choice. The place was open and lively, but everything felt well run and comfortable. The restaurant itself was very clean and well organized, which I always appreciate, and there's plenty of parking in a private lot, making the visit stress-free from the start. The vibe inside is fun and laid back. The restaurant has a bohemian feel, with art all over the walls that gives it a bit of a Wynwood-style atmosphere, which adds a lot of personality. Now to the food... the real reason to come here. Lala Burgers clearly focuses on quality burgers, and it shows. We ordered the McLala burgers, and they were amazing--fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The pickled chips were a great bonus and worked perfectly as both a side and an appetizer. By the end of the meal, we were honestly too full to even think about dessert. We also tried a couple of beers: the Ever Haze IPA and a Mexican lager called La Sagrada. Both were very good and paired nicely with the burgers. If I had one small critique, it would be that for a burger place, it's a bit on the pricey side. That said, the quality of the food, service, and overall experience definitely makes up for it. Our experience at Lala's was great. We were greeted kindly by the staff and explained the menu thoroughly. I ordered a Lala smash burger and my fiance ordered a Mclala smash burger. We loved both burgers but, the burgers weren't too filling especially for the price. The fries were nothing to write home about. They were crunchy but nothing special, they got the job done. I did enjoy the fact that they allow you to pick between a smash patty, a traditional patty and a chicken sandwich. The sauce provided to dip the fries in was delicious at least which elevated the blank canvass of the fries. The vibe was chill. Some of the interiors were nice and matched the vintage vibe they were going for but the paintings they had hanging up on the wall didn't really match. Decided to finally try out Lala's Burgers since me and my wife are also huge fans of Apocalypse BBQ (same owners as Lala's) and we must say the food doesn't disappoint. Greeted by the staff immediately with all smiles and were seated immediately. The place itself isn't huge but has just the right amount of space with early 2000s hip hop and R&B playing in the background me and my wife were singing along. I ordered The Lala burger while my wife went with the classic but substituted the patty for chicken which you can do with all their burgers. The burger itself was the right size with a tasty bun loaded with their sauce that had just the right amount of kick that doesn't make it feel spicy at all. The patties are no longer 5oz smash, but a thicker 8oz patties... a bit different, but still juicy and cooked to a nice medium. Did a pickup order on the Timba Burger and Fries, loveeee the Havarti and everything about the burger was melt in your mouth delicious. The fries are simple, just good, nothing to rave about. Do think prices are kinda steep for a burger and fries, with my two items with tax was about $25 to go. Add tip and you are at about $30... but I had my order within 15 minutes of placing and they text you when it's ready. I've tried Lala's smash burger at a Yelp event previously and I liked it so much, I had to have more. This was the first I came to the restaurant and I enjoyed it. We tried the queso frito bites and it tasted so good with the guava lava sauce. It was a perfect pair. We also tried the McLala and the Timba with onion rings and fries. The McLala was delicious; the secret sauce and the lettuce was elevated the taste. The Timba was on the sweeter side and it was also tasty. I did not think cream cheese belonged on a burger, but The Timba proved me wrong. The onions rings were cooked to perfection, where no sauce was needed. The fries were okay. The only thing I did not like too much was the sauce that came with the fries and onion rings. The service was excellent. The manager approached each table and ensured everything was going well. The server was a sweetheart. She provided suggestions, joined some of our conversations and even offered to provide more lighting when she saw me taking pictures of the food. Came here for a YELP event recently and had to come back and bring my mom! I love they have a pop up every Tuesday in Kendall at Apocalypse BBQ (if you have tried this spot either, here's your invitation). The storefront opened about 2 months ago and I love the vibe. Great music playing in the background, great drinks (full bar), and amazing burgers. LaLa's keeps it simple but delicious by serving up a menu of 3 burgers, fries and warm cookies. The Original and the Bacon are always available and the 3rd option rotates monthly. This month was a Guava Burger with papitas. I have to say the original is a favorite with the spicy flavor, pickles and sauce. The Guava Burger did not disappoint tho. We decided to share to enjoy them both (you can tell I barely had time for pictures). We washed the burgers down with their Watermelon Margarita - sooo yummy! Service was FANTASTIC. Every single server stopped to ask how things were when they walked by. The table was kept clean throughout our experience. They talked to us, laughed and smiled. I was driving around and wanted a good burger and automatically thought of apocalypse but the to go wait time was a little long for me so I thought about Lala's since it's a joint venture. Nestled in the back of Lincoln's Brewing, it's a small blue container truck. I loved the atmosphere - good salsa/merengue music playing in the background, people playing dominos outside (right up my alley). The menu selection is limited. They had four burger selections, seasoned fries and a cookie. For me personally, the burger was way too saucy. The meat was good, but it was overpowered by too much sauce. The fries were crispy to perfection and they had good flavor. However, it was way too salty. The cookie to finalize our meal was perfection. I definitely would like to give it another try but next time, I would tell them easy on the sauce and easy on the seasoning and the salt with the fries.
