Ok ok so I went three times during my stay and I will say the food did not disappoint. Always remember to ask if they have a daily special because they do!! The wings (on wing Wednesday) were on point I was so satisfied with the flavor and the coffee does not overpower them at all. Cornbread was just right. They sprinkle a little salt on it which is not necessary and you can shake it off. And the tacos (on taco Tuesday) were soooo flavorful. The vibes and music are really nice. It's simply decorated and cute and rustic. Don't really know what to expect when you're walking towards a white building. So the employees are really nice. First time I sat at the bar and this blonde gal along with Jean helped me out. Jean was super nice and engaging. He was very attentive and interested that I was there. Customer service from him needs to be taught to others. That same night I returned because they were so nice I needed to return. I sat at the bar and ordered my wine, wings and cornbread and it was a whole different experience than before. The brunette gal helped me. Her friends were sitting at the bar next to me and she was super nice distracted. I never got my cornbread and had to ask her to pa knit when I was ready to go because she forgot. Praise God I saw Jean who helped me get out of there. I get her homies were there and they were working on something on the computer but she could've tried to at least ask me if I was ok or needed anything. Still not going to rate down cause Jean saved her. My last night staying here I went back and asked for a table cause I was scared to run into the brunette gal again. My server was Julez, another great experience. He was so attentive and nice. He told me all the specials. Came back a few times to ask if I was good and checked me out fast. He was so helpful, even him being patient with the table next to me and giving them the history of the restaurant was everything. That's how it's done!! Good job Jean and Jules and the blonde gal at the bar for being so awesome. This place is a must go to!! Don't forget to ask for the specials and make sure to go with an empty belly.
Great bbq in Miami. This is probably one of the best bbq places I have been to. You can try a little of everything if you get a tray as you. There almost always is a wait here, but it's normally fast. There's plenty of seating inside and it has a solid bbq place vibe that you would expect from this place. The meats were all juicy and flavorful. The service was great since there were many servers working.
Taste is very personal and opinions may differ, I always try to respect the hard work behind the dish and be respectful. I give 5 stars for the staff, very kind and attentive. However I will give a 3 stars for the food. Did not pleased my taste. I found the chicken dry and coleslaw bland. Fries was the best dish.
I am a regular here every single week, me and my girlfriend always come for the $1 wing specials on Wednesdays and we always end up getting more than just wings lol, but everything we ever have here is always mind blowing. The lunch specials for the weekdays is great, the Brisket Chopped Cheese and the Cluck Norris Chicken Sandwich are great for the lunch special price and honestly you can't beat it. Service here always makes you feel at home, you come more than once and they instantly remember you and will welcome you back and it really makes you feel like you're apart of a family over there and that's something I definitely love about it here. Ambiance is nothing short of a big ol family dinner party vibe, all around fun with great music playing. Apocalypse is my second home and me and my girlfriend always have an amazing time here!
The food was amazing. Best miami style barbecue I ever had. The service was friendly and helpful and always looking out for your needs. The space is very old school with enough seating for families and groups.
I want to start off this review on a personal note and big statement for myself. I do not care for BBQ typically, but this is the BEST BBQ joint I've ever, yes, EVER tried. My group of 3 walked up to the outdoor hostess, we gave a name for our group, it was about a 30-40 minute wait. It was expected since word of mouth was passed along that this place usually has a wait to be seated. Once we were sat on a booth, we were greeted by the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable waiter, sad to say, I don't remember her name, but the customer service was all the way there! When I scanned through the menu, I wanted to dig all the way in. Keep in mind, I was a bit skeptical since I am not the biggest BBQ fan. For starters we ordered their brisket bacon, brisket wings, and a brisket empanada. We were also told there was a daily special, pulled pork mac & cheese french fries so of course we got an order. Their menu has changed since my initial visit, but it was all a la carte style; we created our own "platter" consisting of Mac and cheese, cafecito ribs, sausage, brisket, corn bread, coleslaw, elote, and maduros. Ooo weee! That's a mouthful and it was damn good. Their brisket meat is smoked to absolute perfection, has a crisp and is still extremely juicy (we ordered lean style). The flavors are all the way there and just explode in your mouth, you can't go here and NOT order their brisket, like cmon. I was very impressed. Now, I'm a carb junkie, so I was a major fan of their Mac and cheese and corn bread. I even took some to go, it was that delicious. You will be in the best food coma after all of that, I know I sure was! Though the food was phenomenal, I have to give up to the front and BOH. The real MVP's. You really see the staff work as a team, it's a sight to see. Our waiter, expos, and manager walked over to our booth throughout our munch time and asked if we were good, how our experience was, etc. The attentiveness was present- that's a lost art in Miami lol, so bravo! Great ambiance, food, and above all things customer service!
Food was great as always. My wife got the brisket. I tried the Wild Boar burger. The burger came out cooked perfectly MR. This was the first time I've had it. It was amazingly delicious. The Cowboy Candy on it was absolutely delicious just the right amount of spice and sweetness! From the host to the management everyone was very nice and friendly. The restaurant is always well kept with the amount of foot traffic, they do a great job keeping the place clean. Jean was our server, he is very knowledgeable of the menu. He answered our questions without any hesitation. And was truly trying to make sure we order everything we needed.
I arrived in Miami one day before my cruise & my friend highly recommended recommended this restaurant! We arrived around 6:45 and there was a 20 min wait, it didn't take that long & they offered free beer & water while we waited. It was off to a great start! Our server was kind and polite however it took her forever to take our orders and come back with the checks. She told us after we'd order that there can only be three checks which is fine but I wished it was communicated sooner. I'd never in my life been so irate with poor/slow service. It was insane!! It wasn't even that busy. The food itself is 5 stars!! I sampled the loaded fries with mac & cheese, & pulled pork. It was to die for! The brisket & cheese empanadas were delicious. My entree was the half rack of ribs and loaded mac & cheese it was everything!! SN: they don't do online or call in orders, just a FYI.
Apocalypse is just as delicious as the rave (and long line) makes it out to be. Expect a long wait that will be very much worth it the second you get a bite of the ribs, or the brisket, or the corn bread, or practically absolutely anything on the menu. There's not a single thing I can't suggest on their menu because everything we got to try was absolutely to DIE for. Our server was Fabio and he was incredibly kind and helpful, the food came out quick which was great cause we were starving, and the food was an absolute dream I see every time I close my eyes. I asked for a cornbread with a candle to celebrate my Dad's birthday and they were super kind in accommodating. One tiny disclaimer, if you're celebrating a birthday expect for them to make it a very very loud occurrence (which made for an incredible video of my introvert Dad). Overall I truly can not wait to be back and have a million wings and three whole cornbread all to myself.
I would also see this place being promoted online and decided to check it out to see if it was worth the hype. Let me tell you, it exceeded all my expectations! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. Our server explained the entire menu to us and manager even visited our table to ask how everything was. Note: wait time to be seated can be long. Make sure to sign up in advance for their wait list on yelp and let them know when you arrive. The waiting area is in an outside tent with a fan and benches. They do provide free water and beer while you wait for your table which definitely makes them different. I really liked that they did that

Apocalypse did not disappoint! The dining area is very large and we were seated within a couple minutes of putting our name down. Our server was very friendly and constantly checked in on us throughout the lunch. We tried a little bit of everything on the menu and thought that some of the standout items were the spare ribs, brisket, and the corn bread. The flavor on the spare ribs was spectacular and very different from what I'm used to when it comes to Texas style BBQ. The brisket was very juicy and tender. The corn bread was the perfect texture/sweetness and I loved that it came in a skull shape. I definitely will be back especially on a day that they are doing beef ribs!
I had been hearing about Apocalypse BBQ for a while, so I was excited when it worked out that we were in the area and hungry for lunch at a super convenient time where there was not yet a line! We had a great experience. Our server was so friendly and went out of her way to be kind to our 4-year-old and make sure she had a good experience too. The food here is BBQ with a latin twist. For appetizers, we had the Pulled Pork Tostones and the Empanada. The Tostones came with two pieces that were loaded with pork and pickled onions. It was a ton of food. And the empanada had a brisket and cheese mixture that was so incredibly delicious. Highly recommend both these appetizers. For our meals we chose to share the 2-person platter which comes with two meats and two sides. All of the portions were huge, so this was plenty of food for both of us and to share with our 4-year-old as well (whom we also ordered French fries for). I understand the fries usually come with garlic on them, but we ordered them without since it was mostly for our child. We ordered two portions of the Cafecito Ribs. As much as we liked the appetizers, these ribs knocked it out of the park for us!! They were so flavorful. Our server had told us they are more sweet than coffee flavored, as some had expected, but I actually found them to have a really good earthy flavor that complemented its sweetness so well. These were absolutely delicious. I believe the ribs were smoked 6-8 hours I believe. They were soft and fall off the bone, and, honestly, we'll probably order the same thing next time haha. For sides we had the Abuelita Beans and the Elote corn. The platter also came with four pieces of Texas Toast. The Abuelita Beans were interesting because they had a definite latin flair. My husband, who is Puerto Rican, didn't care for the beans, but I think it's because they were so different than what he expected. I thought they were good despite the fact that I do not care for Chicharrones which they had mixed in. There were small pieces and larger ones - I accidentally ate a larger one, thinking it was a potato, hahaha. They were good.. you just have to expect the flavor. The Elote was delicious but a bit salty. The ambiance was cool too. It was inside a long rectangular building. They even had strong air vents and fans outside to keep it cooler for those waiting inline. The inside has an elevated diner feel because it's shaped like a stereotypical long diner but with updated and sophisticated decor. They also have a bar, so cocktails and beer are on the menu as well. I had a Corona). Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely to back. You can add yourself to the waitlist from the website which I imagine would be incredibly helpful too!

This was an absolutely delicious Saturday night dinner! We got in line at 7 PM and the super friendly hostess told us it would be about 30 to 45 minutes for a party of two. They offered free water or beer while we waited, which is always a nice touch. You are able to keep track of your place in line once they sent you a text, which was helpful. Let's get straight to the good stuff... ordering food! We ordered a half pound of the Cafecito ribs and a half pound of the brisket. For our sides which are individually priced we ordered, cornbread, coleslaw, baked beans, mac & cheese. EVERYTHING was outstanding! Really great sauce on the ribs and the brisket was cooked to perfection very tender. All of the sides were seasoned perfectly. The coleslaw did not have too much mayo or vinegar It was a perfect balance. The mac & cheese was creamy and had great flavor. The cornbread had bits of corn inside which we loved ( and such a fun shape) The portion sizes were so big that we took home lots of extras! Can't wait to go back and try some of the other menu items as right now for the season they do have a turkey club and of course the burgers that passed by for other tables also looked delicious . Great atmosphere and service as well as one of the managers stopped by our table during our meal to ask how everything was doing. The music was great overall and loved that fact that you do not come out of there smelling like barbecue all over your clothes. LOL Definitely worth the worth to get some delicious food! read more
Apocalypse bbq was really good. Newer location. More seating. Really busy but we got seated in half the time they said we would be. Big plus Also free beer and water as you wait Ribs. Fav protein here done with its unique rub got my sauce on the side. So good Brisket was good as long as you get the fattier meat Turkey. Was pretty dry. I love a good smoked turkey. But old location was so much better French fries was really good actually Beans and the corn were both a hit Burger is pretty good I will say. Like a better version of a Big Mac Corn bread. One of my fav. Done so well love it Cookies. Don't sleep on this. Done to perfection. Crispy on the outside. Perfectly soft in the middle. Comes out warm. So good Check your receipts. We ordered chicken wings. They say we never did when we asked. So we said it's ok. But it was on our bill. If not for this. 5 stars all day. But clearly someone dropped the ball cause we did order it or else they would not try to charge us for it read more

I already left a review for this place but I'll do it again! As usual the service is really top notch and let me tell you how not as crowded it is, even at 3pm on a week day. It was a great time to go! The environment was a lot more chill. We were able to make it for the Thursday special, Pan Con Brisket and it did not disappoint! Wings are always delicious, the sauce they use is tres magnifique corn bread doesn't miss, I really could go on and on about this place. Go check it out for yourself! read more

We came back and the service as always was spectacular! The restaurant was a little loud but it was a good time. And the food delicious. But the desserts omg they were amazing! The chocolate chip cookie was already delicious but now they added ice cream to it and it just hits the spot. Apocalypse BBQ deserves 10/10 stars for the amazing hospitality and delicious Southern-style smoked meats and sides with a Miami twist by the wonderful Jeff and Laura, the owners who went out of their way to take such good care of our group of 8 friends last Wednesday at lunch. We were all very impressed by their heartfelt energy. I love their cozy diner which added to the hominess of the experience of Southern style cooking. We all ordered a lot of different dishes because we arrived hungry and wanted to try everything. It smelled so good inside as we waited for our meals to be ready. The place was not packed last Wednesday so we didn't experience any long waits. Timing is everything. Our food came out within a reasonable time. We were all excited as the dishes were laid out on our table by Daniel, our super attentive server with the nice smile. He is definitely an asset to the Apocalypse diner. Here are the delicious items that we all ordered and highly recommend: Cafecito Ribs, Pulled Pork, Brisket & Cheese Empanadas, Pulled Pork Empanadas, Brisket, Loaded Mac n Cheese, Mac n Cheese, Baked Beans, Corn Bread, Elote Corn, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Toast, and probably something else that I have missed. We sat in the back by the full bar and had a blast. We were all full and couldn't even think about dessert. So we got 3 freshly made and pulled out of the oven chocolate chip cookies to take home. Omg, they were so soft and delicious! This luncheon was one for the books and we will regroup here again before too long. I wanted to mention that there wasn't any signage out front to find the diner but we found it anyway because Alfredo was in our group and has been there many a time. There is a large parking lot and you will see the BBQ pits and the diner. The diner is easily accessible, no stairs or steps to worry about. The diner itself is comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. You will be very happy that you came here for their fabulous BBQ meals. They do not take reservations at this time so plan accordingly. read more
I left Orlando for 24 hours to visit Miami and made some time for a couple spots. Starting with Apocalypse they were extremely busy for a Sunday afternoon and everyone there was excited to eat. Servers were attentive and friendly to first time guests. They also serve well for large families. The platter you see if offered to you when you order more than two of their menu prices meat options. You can basically select whatever you want for you and your family and they will arrange the platter so everyone at the table can eat and share without too many plates on the table. The only "minus point" was the pulled pork because it just didn't have any flavor to me but take that with a huge grain of salt because all I really love is Puerto Rican lechon asado. Extra perks: While your wait may be long they offer free water and beer for guests waiting for their table outside. They also have a really special cocktail menu! read more

The food wasn't that good. I don't feel like this is real bbq. The Mac and cheese was so grainy and greasy. The tips were just overcooked and burnt along with the chicken wings. Service was really good but the wait times are crazy. Cute dinner seating and good music. read more

First off, this place excels in hospitality. I have been here multiple times, and I have never had a bad experience. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, makes sure you are having a good time and delicious meal. I strongly encourage that you go when it first opens, because otherwise you'll be stuck waiting outside. But once you're in, the food and service is well worth it. The music is fun and the energy is contagious. Everyone seems happy to be working there! Do yourself a favor and try a little bit of everything (go with a group!). You're going to want all the sides, too. read more
No matter what social media platform you're on or what conversation you're having, you can't escape talks of Apocalypse BBQ. There was no way I was ever going to wait in line with 2 kids, though, so when the opportunity arose to go on a random weekday at 11 AM, we were highly recommended to try it, so my husband and I did just that. If it was up to the service, I would give this place even 10 stars! Everyone from the hostesses to the servers were AMAZING! So friendly, so knowledgeable about the menu, genuinely excited about making your experience 10/10. Tatyana was INCREDIBLE! I wish she would serve at every restaurant I visit because she was an absolute angel and her vibe was electric! We ate everything she recommended. After casually mentioning that my husband and I were able to escape from our kids for a little birthday lunch, Taty surprised us with a very enthusiastic Happy Birthday cookie and song with the whole restaurant singing along. It was such a special touch to our already fabulous staff experience. That being said, I'm not a fan of restaurants that are too hyped up because I'm always left expecting more than what it is. The presentation of the food, fantastic. The taste was just alright for me. Their famous honey cornbread was good, but not $8 good. I liked the cafecito ribs, but even that was pretty average tasting. The baked beans were actually really delicious with a nice serving of pulled pork and green onions incorporated into it that gave the sweet taste a little saltiness. Overall, I would say Apocalypse is good, but not something I would wait extended hours in line for. read more
It's a double edged sword visiting a spot you've heardso much about & hyped up in your mind for so long. I tried visiting once a long time ago at their previous location but went late in the afternoon & they were out of most items so we said we'd return another time & earlier in the day. That day finally came! The smokers outback let you know you're about to have a good meal. Wait was short as it was during the week & a lunch hour. Sat in our booth, got greeted right away & had menus explained to us. Couldn't decide between pulled pork sandwich or the brisket sandwich so I got both along with some cornbread. Food presentation was good, service was good, everything looked clean, & there were no major complaints to speak of. At one point, a manager stopped by just to check on us which shows they care about their guests. Would I return? Yes, I think I would. read more

Barbecue was tender and the sauce had a nice sweet and sour tang to it. Didn't think the ribs were fall off the bone tender but they had a decent bite. Tacos were bland. Free beer and water while waiting is a super nice touch on a hot Florida day. read more

We went day pretty early about 5pm. The wait was about 10 minutes and their service from the hostess to our waiter and everyone in between was excellent! We ordered our drinks first and then everything we wanted and we still got our brisket empanada first before our drinks. We ordered two water and two margaritas for their Friday special and honestly didn't taste the passionfruit flavor at all. Things I did like were the cafecito rub ribs, the elote and the baked beans. The Mac n cheese I liked it as well but if you don't like garlic you will not like it. Also note it's not really creamy or a wet sauce but i wouldn't say it's dry either. The brisket you don't need a knife to cut it it's super soft but very fatty. I'm disappointed that the food didn't come out hot. It was fresh but just room temp, so when we got the food it felt like it was sitting there for kinda cold and then was served. The empanada felt cold to me too and the sauce was good too but very strong. I do feel like it's over hyped, Í would eat here again but I wouldn't wait in a line for over 30 minutes. read more

Came to see what was all the hype about! I tried to order from door dash then Uber Eats and then I went to their website, there is only one way to order to go and that's to come in person, and order Togo. I'm confused on that part but anyway. The corn bread was so good. I got 1/2 portion of the ribs. The ribs were very meaty and tender the Mac and cheese was trash lol. I didn't go inside but it was packed and the wait was an hour and half . And people still signed up to wait. Me personally I wouldn't. I know some unnamed spots in miami with the really good stuff. The food here is really expensive. I don't think it's worth the price. That's just my opinion though. read more
I have been wanting to eat at this former food truck, former southwest Metro Zoo miami area location for a while, but it was either on a closed scheduled day, too crowded, or out of smoked meats reasons, that prevented me from trying. Traveling thru Kendall, I realized that we were their new location ( former diner behind closed Bahama Breeze) Not to crowded on a Thursday afternoon 3pm. Still had a 5min wait, but they offer you Free Beer ! or Water while you wait. (Awesomeness!) The vibe & music was vinyl & rock n roll ! You are winning me over, already. We ordered the two meat platter, cafacito ribs & brisket (chopped only left , we were hoping for slices (Sold out) the ribs smoke & taste was great. (Brisket crumbs meh) but the sides , FF seasoned lightly & enjoyed, but the skull shape & honey drizzles cornbread the best ever! The bake beans with pork seasoning also the absolute Best I have ever had. !!Congratulations, all the hype & accolades are deserved, you are a Top 3 BbQ spot in South Florida in my book, along with all time favorite two sides. read more

Apocalypse BBQ is easily one of the best barbecue spots in Miami. We've been coming here since their old location, and this was our first time visiting the new Kendall spot. We went on a weekday and even though it was pretty busy, the wait was short and we were seated quickly. The only downside was the service at the start--it took a while for someone to come by and get us started on drinks and then to actually receive our drinks and then take our food order. Once things got going though, everything else was smooth. The food? Incredible, as always. Consistently high quality and definitely worth it every time. We left full and very satisfied. Definitely a go-to BBQ spot for us. read more
The BBQ spread was packed with flavor. from the tender brisket and smoky spare ribs to the creamy mac and cheese, loaded mac and cheese, classic potato salad, beans, coleslaw, and warm cornbread. The true stars of the plate were the potato salad, the loaded mac and cheese, and the spare ribs, all perfectly seasoned and absolutely unforgettable. Unfortunately, the service fell short as our waitress Daniela didn't refill waters, failed to check on our drinks, and even forgot to bring silverware, which put a damper on an otherwise great meal, she only had two tables so i'm unsure as to why service wasn't great but makes sense since gratuity was included. Well we come here every time we go on cruise out of Miami it has become like a ritual . Apocalypse is our first stop every single time and it never disappoints it gets better . We live in Tampa and if it was t a 4 hour drive we would come more often that's how good the food and the service is . The entire staff is amazing always has a smile . We always come early and we never wait. The loaded fries weee freaking delicious and should become part of the menu just saying lol. My favorite is the cafecito ribs I get it every time with out fail . Plus a must is the corn bread too for for . Then we always get 2 chocolate chip cookies to take back to the hotel it's always a must . Tried Apocalypse BBQ for the first time and it definitely lived up to the hype. Everything we ordered was super good. The meats were flavorful and tender, and you can really taste the quality in each dish. The line was pretty long when we got there, but after trying the food I totally understand why people are willing to wait. It's worth it. We ended up sitting at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. Will definitely be back to try more from the menu! read more

I love this resturant. The whole experience is great. From the beginning, Maria always attends me at the door and she's awesome. During the wait, they give free beers so make sure to ask! The food is delicious and the service is great. On Friday's, the PBR beer is $1. Food comes out quick and hot. Ribs, wings, fries, mac n cheese!!! The ambiance is great and it smells amazing in there. I will be back very soon. read more

If you think you've tried the best BBQ, you're wrong. To start off, let me just say our server Jonathan was absolutely amazing. Not only did he thoroughly explain the menu and the summer menu, when one of our vegetarian friends asked about the ingredients in the Mac and Cheese, he was able to name them without having to go and ask the kitchen. Jonathan was absolutely fantastic, checking in on our table, ensuring we were good and updating us on our food and drinks. He really made our experience a special one. Now for the food... oh my goodness the fries were the right amount of salty and crispy, the Mac and cheese was not too cheesy that it is over bearing, but just the perfect amount. Don't get me started with the cornbread, with hints of honey and salt, and the elote corn that didn't even last 30 seconds. Our group also had three The Jefe burgers, brisket tacos, prime brisket, cafecito ribs, and they were out of the Mango Tango ribs, but that's next on my list of items to try when I go back. This place has been on my list for a long time with all the social media buzz and was excited to try -- especially after it moved to its new location. Took a long drive to get here and totally worth it! Starting with the friendly check-in with Luis, who gave us complimentary waters and cans of light beer, which was much appreciated on a hot summer day. We came on a Thursday around 1:30, and there was approximately a 30 minute wait - which wasn't bad considering the hype. Started with cucumber cocktail and passion fruit cocktail - both enjoyable. We chose a build-your-own platter: wings, cafecito ribs, brisket, pork sausage and cornbread. Wow was that good!! That cafecito sauce was so tasty and luckily the wings had some of it too - they were killer. Stephanie, our very friendly server helped us choose the platter and also brought us out sea salt for the homemade gooey delicious chocolate chip cookie we had for dessert. Least busy days and times?
If I have to guess, I would say right as they open during the week day. I went on a weekday at 6 PM (after work) and we barely had a wait time and got our food right away. It got busier once I left around 8 PM.
Many reviews say the food runs out quickly. Is there a number to call or message to check what's available before heading over to the establishment?
I tried looking for a phone number everywhere with no luck. If you find it please share. Also I believe they dont do takeout on the weekends.

Yes take out is available. Best time to go is before it opens which is 11 am I'd go before that
Came Saturday 7/22 at 5:15pm. Not taking any guest, closed for private event. Came last weekend and they ran out of all smoked meats. We drive from Downtown so it can be disappointing. Since no phone # is listed can you put updates on your website?
