Came here around 3pm on a Thursday to study and it wasn't super packed. The Banana Cream Matcha was amazing!! It's their signature and it was so creamy and did not take away the matcha flavoring. The staff members were so nice as well and near closing time, they asked us if we wanted free pastries since it would be a waste to throw away. As we stood in the line it continued to grow it took us about 25 minutes to order and get our drinks. TLDR: Overall coffee was solid, pastries were delicious, prepared food was meh- and prepared food service ends at 4pm for those that don't know. Stopped by on a whim as visitors from out of town needing a pick me up after a long day in the car. Banana bread was pretty good. There were some dry spots but overall delicious. Cloud Ape was perfect. Not overbearingly sweet and the coffee was not bitter at all. Gorilla Toast was kind of a let down, the bread didn't seem toasted at all. There was a lot of avocado and micro greens on my slice which was great. I somehow wound up with 2 of the avocado stem pieces in my portion. Which briefly excited me because I thought the toast needed something crunchy to elevate it (pumpkin seeds or something would be solid). And the sauce was tasty but added to the goopiness in my opinion. The place itself was a solid vibe. A few tables to sit at and work/study or enjoy your coffee/food. Service was quick. Staff seemed friendly but also kinda grumpy. We went about an hour before closing. It literally turned 4pm as I was ordering my food and the cashier kind of jarringly stated that food service ended at 4pm - which I totally understand, and appreciated him making an exception for me. The matcha here is solid! It was my first time here, mainly came here for the banana matcha (this has been trending all over) The matcha itself was super smooth, no bitterness at all! I usually get extra matcha, but with this one it was perfect as is. The banana cream had a slight artificial taste, and I didn't prefer the cinnamon on it. Cool little spot with a primate theme! Majority of the drinks have a banana twist. Definitely on brand and surprisingly good. It has a genuine banana flavor and not "fake". I ordered the Monkey Business coffee and really enjoyed it. My husband and niece tried the Incredible Ape matcha. Sadly, it didn't meet their standard. We also shared the Bonobo sandwich, and the chipotle aioli gave it the flavor it needed! The barista who took our order was very friendly. This review is solely for the banana matcha. I had heard great things about it from people and through social media, but it was quite a letdown. The latte is called the "Incredible Ape Matcha" but it was hardly matcha and certainly not incredible. Incredible Ape Matcha: I opted for 75% sweet with oat milk which was unfortunately $1.00 upcharge. The latte comes standard with a banana cream top as well as honey drizzle. I asked for less banana cream as well because I wanted a good matcha flavor to shine through. When I received the drink, I tried the matcha on its own to taste the matcha flavor prior to mixing everything together. It was very grassy compared to other shops so beware if that matcha flavor profile is not your favorite. I noticed the latte still had a substantial amount of cream on top, taking up about 1/3 of the cup. I'm not sure how much more cream they would put if this was considered "less cream." The honey was totally unnecessary as it made the matcha extremely sweet and just pooled at the bottom of the cup even with constant stirring. I should have asked for 25% sweet but didn't realize the latte came with honey until after ordering. Once the cream was mixed in, the matcha was very hard to discern. The banana cream taste itself was good but that was really the only good thing about the drink. For $8, this drink was entirely not worth it. The shop and parking: The shop is located in a small plaza pretty close to the freeway entrance/exit. There's a strip of parking out front. I came on a weekday afternoon and there were several spots open so it wasn't hard to park. The shop itself is medium sized with some tables and chairs to sit down and get some work done if you wanted. The vibe was sleek with black walls and lots of ape branding, some merch. They sell pastries and food in addition to drinks. Service was nice. Overall: Did not enjoy the matcha, and the drink and price point was not worth it to come back. read more

I am a big fan of pumpkin creamy drinks so I was excited to try the one at ape coffee! I don't usually order oat milk in my coffee but I decided to give this one a try. wow. probably the best pumpkin coffee I've ever had. I usually get a pumpkin cream cold brew but this pumpkin spicy oat latte was so creamy and yummy. It was pretty pricey, $8 total with the cream top but well worth it! Ape Coffee has been on my list for a while, since I saw it all over IG and I'm so glad I was in town and finally tried it. I went on Saturday around 4pm and there was a bit of a wait and the line got longer. The inside is pretty small but there are some tables for folks to do work. I ordered and waited less than 5 min for my drink! I got the incredible ape matcha and I loved it! Have to shake it fully to get the full flavor. I'm a big fan! I wish they had bigger sizes. My cold brew was pretty good. I asked if they offered sugar-free syrups and they did not . The barista then proposed honey - definitely not sugar-free! They did have sweetener packets which I used. My favorite coffee/matcha spot. The flavors of the drinks here are rly unique and I'm in love with their Incredible Ape Matcha latte (11/10). I think it's hands down the best combination of flavors in a drink- honey matcha latte with housemade banana cream, honey drizzle, cinammon, and a banana chip. The Incredible ape matcha latte isn't too sweet and the banana cream is SO GOOD. I would recommend to anyone and everyone. I've also tried their matcha pistachio croissant which was pretty good (8/10). It was def not something I would finish on my own thoo. The interior is not well lit- pretty dark actually. But the seating has a nice vibe to it and there were a good amount of people grinding/talking. The baristas are really cool and kind. First off, I want to say I love the theme & what the business is about. My favorite is the Incredible Ape Matcha (banana cold foam hits the spot). Definitely try it & let me know what your guys think. However, the location is small & the parking can be a little hard but sometimes theres also a long line. Understandably; there are a few staff & they can only do so much. My issue is that (this isnt the first time) where someone pops in & they cut the line to be served first. Whether they call or not, shouldn't they wait in line? Or shouldn't they mobile order if thats the case? Anyway, mind you its not the first time this has occurred. The time prior to this, a gentleman who was suited came in & was given priority. "Oh he has no time to wait" bla bla. But... something was a little off. And I'll preface this by saying I'm hyper-aware of scents. The dairy in the latte or banana cream had a pretty dairy forward smell that hit me a bit hard. It was weird enough to be distracting, but maybe it was just a one-off thing. The place was busy, but the service was solid, and the seating was decent if you're lucky enough to snag a spot. It was quite busy at that time, but we managed to secure a table. The lights were nice and dim. They sell clothes too. We ordered the Snow Monkey and the Cloud Ape. I'm just being transparent, they both a 3/5. The sweetness of the Snow Monkey felt like a sugar high than a caffeine high, you know. The cloud ape tasted water down. The cream on top was like any other cream; not extravagant. Can't forget that black sesame croissant; that thing was bomb, 5/5. I gotta say though that the service was good.
