No monkey business, just good vibes at Ape Coffee! Went totally bananas for their "golden ape" coffee this morning. What a treat! Perfectly bold brewed coffee infused with their own banana syrup. So good! What I love about their coffee is that it's not too sweet, too bitter, or too strong. It's perfectly blended to keep you coming back for more. We stopped by to grab some coffee while waiting for our cars to be washed, and were surprised at how busy it was. It's a small but happening place! And I can see why. Life is definitely better when you hang with the right troop, and I absolutely went ape for Ape Coffee this morning.
It did not look like anyone went into any of the stores, but when I walked into ape coffee it was really busy in a good way. The girl at the counter was nice and all of the baristas were busy consistently. It was a little tight in there at times with the amount of people, but there's seating if you get a spot. Drinks -monkey business: a good blend of flavors and sweetness -snow monkey: I wish it was a little more coffee tasing with more sweet cream on top Food: -gorilla toast: I think the toast needed more flavor such as seasonings or more balsamic glaze -ham and cheese croissant
One of my favorite spots whenever I'm in town! I love coming here for matcha and to study. The vibes are always good, and the service is super fast. Definitely one of my go to places!
sooo yummy I love ape coffee, they have one of my favorite banana matchas. The banana is definitely strong but once you get to that matcha it's nice and rich. I really love coming here, it is on the pricier side like around 8-9$. The ambiance is like darker inside and there's a good amount of seating, it has like a cool vibe to it. And the service is great!

Tried this cafe for the first time and it didn't disappoint! The only thing that threw me off was the ordering setup, the menu is on an iPad right at the counter, and you can't see the prices until you're placing your order. I tried the Monkey Business and it was really good. Service was pretty minimal, nothing rude, just the bare minimum. The ambiance is nice though, with a few tables if you want to sit and get some work done, plus a restroom for customers which is always a plus.
i stopped by this cafe for some matcha with my friends, and the mango cloud matcha sounded super yummy as a mango sticky rice with matcha cream top! i would say it is on the sweeter side, and the mango can overpower the matcha since it's such a prominent flavor, but i still enjoyed it a lot. it was really refreshing for a warm day! there was a good amount of seating here for studying and relaxing with friends, and the cafe was very grey in a cool way LOL the servers were also really nice and efficient. i could see myself coming back to try their other drinks soon!
Coffee here was excellent, I forgot the name of the coffee I ordered but it was seasonal and had coconut and chocolate sauce with it and I thought the mix tasted great and not overly sweet. The croissant was nice and warm too.
The only place i trust a banana latte from. Everywhere else doesnt compare... the vibes in there are cool too. Super chill and quiet, good place to do homework. Coffee is pricy but well worth it. Service is also nice and quick, lots of staff working the last few times I went.
The quality of the matcha & coffee is very very good!! I loved the moody atmosphere of Ape, and enjoyed the customer service & friendly experience. As well as the speedy service! We got the incredible ape matcha, which had great notes of banana and honey. I would've loved more of a banana flavor though! The matcha quality was one of the very best I've had! As well as the tiramisu latte which is a classic & soooo delicious! Definitely think you can't go wrong with either a coffee or matcha from here!

This place is honestly super cool. They do a great job at setting a specific vibe. The lighting is nice, and lowkey, creating a homier feeling than the bright corporate overhead lighting. There is some seating inside and the music is loud enough to feel free to talk without disrupting people or letting people hear your convo. This is a place for people to talk and hangout but if you do want a bit of quiet, they have a few seats out front which were very peaceful. The Tiramisu Latte was soooooo good, I had to recommend it to some people walking in that asked if the place was actually good. When I went to order, I asked for the Smoked Lox Bagel but with none of the original toppings, another young woman swooped in to ask me if I wanted anything else like salt, pepper, or lemon juice, making me feel like they wanted me to enjoy my experience. Something I didn't know was an option was delicious and I've been craving it since. And the portions.... huge. No tiny slices, these were actual cuts of smoked salmon. Most places charge more for less. The parking lot is small and is shared with some other businesses so on busy weekends you can park on the street. read more

A friend of mine told me about this place a while ago, and I finally gave it a try it!!! I got the mango matcha, & it was actually really good! I also tried the ham and cheese croissant, which I normally wouldn't get at a coffee shop.. but it surprised me in a good way & yes, it went really well with the drink! I can see why it gets busy here I'm starting to become a regular now ! read more
Ape Coffee serves finely crafted matcha latte with cloud-like banana foam in OC. I'm usually not in this area often, but a friend recommended this place so we had to stop by. I had their Midnight Ape (5/5) and Monkey Business (4/5). The Midnight Ape was my favorite because you rarely see a blueberry matcha drink and it was a hit! Bold blueberry notes with even bits of the fruit skin, it was a drink to remember. Monkey Business was delicious too, just didn't read the menu and expected more banana aside from the foam. Overall, loved this place and their matcha lattes. Would definitely return again in the future! read more

Small coffee shop in Orange. Parking lot is small but there's plenty of street parking close by. I ordered the incredible ape matcha, tried the matcha banana cream bread along with the matcha pistachio croissant. A lot of people come in to work or study so tables are not readily available. They also sell apparel. The coffee shop is dim lit and has one outdoor table. Even if you order to go, there aren't plates offered to eat any of the pastries or sandwiches. We ended up using napkins and sat by the bar. Outside of that, everything tasted good. Would come back to try other matcha drinks. read more

Reallllly good brew here. No funky flavor coffee notes, but very smooth with a nice deep toasty taste. Honestly you'd already be golden from getting just a standard iced latte here! I did try also a couple of the signature craft drinks. Monkey business had a fun distinct banana flavor addition to the drink (banana bread vibes). A bit disappointed in the incredible ape matcha as despite the rich green color I barely tasted the matcha and there was some grittiness to the drink. A mixture of sleekness and grunginess in terms of the interior (I dig it). Super chill cashier dude. Friendly barista lady at the pick-up counter. I visited on a Sunday at around 11 am. Several people in line at the time and most of the seating occupied. A few parking spots in the teeny tiny plaza were still available. read more

The coffees were both very delicious! I loved the bold flavor and creative drinks menu. I felt like the cookie was just a little chalky but it was worth the price because of the size. It's a great environment for studying as that's what my friend and I would go for. I'm a repeat customer and recommend all the drinks. read more

I LOVE Ape coffee. During school I would always come study here. Although there isn't a lot of study space it's my favorite. The banana latte is FIREEE. It's called Monkey buisness btw. They have some seasonals right now and my top is the biscoff latte. It's so amazing. The pastries are good too!! The ube croissant is filled and delicious. The service is ALWAYS great. This is a really nice spot. Great for studying or just hanging out. I loved the dimmed lighting and the overall cozy vibe. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I tried the matcha latte and could tell the matcha itself is high quality, but the oat milk they used made it taste watered down. I'd recommend switching the place to a creamier oat milk to better complement the matcha. read more

I added Ape Coffee to my list for awhile, but finally got to try it. Came to visit on a Sunday morning and it was a bit crowded. The vibe at this coffee shop is quite interesting and aesthetic. It gives a hidden, very local styled pub in a small town. Feels like everyone knows everyone here which is really cool. We got ourselves a matcha latte and midnight ape (blueberry matcha craem top) along with some pastry items. Our drinks tasted pretty good, though the blueberry matcha was a little bit too sweet to my liking. They got some interesting pastry items such as strawberry sea salt white choco and matcha pistachio croissants. They were really tasty, even better if warmed, I believe. However, the oreo matcha cookie was dry and chalky, almost unedible. Overall, I really like this coffee place. I have yet to try coffee and other food items, so there will definitely be next time. The orders can take a little while to come out compared to other coffee shops, but it's well worth the wait! They really take their time crafting their drinks. Got the Matcha Banana and the Snow Monkey Coffee and both were just so good! The banana matcha was so flavorful, great banana taste and the coffee in the Snow Monkey was so smooth! Seeing negative reviews here just makes me think they had an off day when serving those individuals or they didn't order the right thing... because it was just so darn good I can't believe this place should get anything less than 5 stars! read more
I love Ape coffee. It's a must visit whenever I'm in the area. They have banana flavored signature coffee drinks. The inside has a very dark interior. They put tiny but the place is actually open. A.P.E Coffee -- I originally thought is was monkey business! :)). But, APE stands for Appreciate People Everywhere (A.P.E). I like this concept of business practice already! If you're a coffee lover, you have to check out Ape Coffee in Orange, CA! The only downer the cafe it's in a small plaza old plaza with VERY LIMITED parking that reminds me of college circling around like vultures looking for anyone walking to their cars. Once you're lucky to get a premium spot, you can see a line forming around the entrance. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a buzzing music and just chattering among the patrons (not a place for studying). The decor is quirky yet cozy, with an industrial feel that's perfect for hanging out or just sipping your favorite brew. The pastries look incredibly delicious, with some unique flavors, but I'm watching my sugar. The coffee? Absolutely top-notch. Whether you're a fan of classic coffee, matcha latte or Banana Business Latte, Ape Coffee has something for everyone. Again, the parking can be a little tricky during busy times, so will be hesitant to come back for another visit. The good news Ape Coffee just opened (or coming soon) opening a second location in Placentia so looking forward to a less hectic parking situation. read more

Stopped by on a Sunday before work and noticed the line was outside the coffee shop. I figured I would have time and that the line would go by quick but in all honesty, it did take some time but the baristas were on top of it. It was the morning, so I get it, people need their energy with a good cup of coffee. The shop is pretty cute and has apes throughout the shop. There is a cool ape graphic on the wall that you can take a pic with and some plushies throughout the baristas maker space. I ordered the Cloud Ape which is a cold brew with sweet cold foam topped with cacao powder. The drink had a good taste but wasn't too strong for me. Pastries looked really good but since I was on a time crunch did not want to take more time with my order. Overall, cool spot but be advised that you may need to wait because this place is pretty popular. It is away from the Orange circle so parking won't be too crazy. I will be back soon to order some other stuff that caught my eye. read more

Really surprised about how much I liked this place! My boyfriend and I were in the area and found this place on yelp. I hadn't heard of it before but it was close to our destination. We visited on a saturday morning and it wasn't too busy, there's lots of street parking. There was no line when we went but most of the tables were taken. The restaurant itself is dark and well decorated, clean! We ordered their seasonal matcha drinks, a strawberry match and blueberry matcha. We also ordered banana bread without chocolate but I think the employee misheard us because she gave us a loaf with chocolate lol. It was still good though! The drinks came out quickly. The color of matcha was nice, and it was a very strong drink actually. My boyfriend and I agreed the strawberry matcha just tasted like strawberry milk but that's not a bad thing! I'd visit again if I'm in the area. read more
Went there yesterday with a coworker. She ordered the Incredible Ape Matcha and I ordered their Snow Monkey. We stopped in at a busy time, but had we arrived minutes later we probably would've been waiting out the door. I believe there were only 2 workers making drinks at the time. For this reason, their customer service took a bit of a hit, but 100% understandable. I enjoyed my Snow Monkey and my coworker enjoyed her Incredible Ape Matcha. read more

Absolutely loved the drinks at Ape Coffee. The mango matcha was super refreshing with the perfect balance of sweet mango and smooth matcha flavor. The tiramisu latte was just as good, rich and creamy with a great coffee kick and the perfect hint of tiramisu. Everything tasted high quality and the presentation was beautiful too. Drinks are good! The banana coffee drink is 10/10, the matcha latte was like a 3/10. Small food is also sold here, like premade sandwiches and pastries!! They looked pretty good! Service was quick! highly recommend the banana cream matcha! as its name suggests, ape coffee specializes in banana flavored drinks. I am NOT a fan of banana flavored things at all - but this place does it right. the banana cream is natural and not too sweet - none of that artificial flavoring taste. the baristas are always so friendly and sweet! they also offer a huge variety of pastries. bf and I tried the pistachio matcha croissant but have to give it a 2/5. the croissant tasted pretty stale and the outside matcha/pistachio coating was just too sugary for our liking. we plan on giving their savory pastries a try on our next visit! read more

Skipped this spot the first time because I was on my way to work and the line was too long. Second time went there as only 3 people ahead of me however I still waited 10 min for 2 drinks. Everyone one else that's been here has told me the same about the wait time. So make sure you have extra time if you wanna stop by. Service was bad, I did not like the customer service I received today. When I got my food I was even more disappointed which the only consistent thing was their gorilla toast, for a $14 avo toast this is what I got. The smallest piece of the loaf, seems like a literal joke. read more

I keep coming back for the cute aesthetics and I keep wanting to be wowed. Second time back after my new year hike! This time I tried the Matcha Latte hot and it was good but nothing wow. Maybe I needed to keep it as whole milk to make it better. Tried their matcha monkey business last time and cold brew and it didn't wow me either. Tasty but nothing too crazy. I was heading up to Anaheim Hills for a class and Ape coffee was too conveniently on my way to not make a stop in for some coffee. Glad I did as they had a special bogo50% which helped me out tremendously as I wanted to try their Ape Matcha - matcha and banana cream foam, and the tiramisu latte - espresso and mascarpone cream foam. I asked for no sweetener in both so I can also enjoy the monkey bread. Let me say, the drinks were delicious. Very lightly flavored which makes them a treat and not overbearing. The matcha had a deep color and balanced matcha and creaminess and the banana cream foam was a layer that I didn't think would work, but it does. The tiramisu latte is one I can drink every day. It is creamy without being overly disruptive to the espresso. The monkey bread was just ok for me as it didn't taste fresh. Service was great. I found parking easily. Indoor seating. Store had an industrial feel. small merch section in the back. The Bitcoin decal in the back instantly made me understand the name and the tie in to this shop. I've had this place on my list for a while and I got the banana matcha which was so so good. It can be a little pricey but I think that's about the same pricing almost anywhere nowadays. The service was great and everyone was so friendly. It seems like a handful of people actually work or study from there so it's quiet indoors but a great location. read more

I love Ape Coffee! I feel like they never disappoint. Whenever I go I always get a Matcha Latte with Sweet Cream Cold Foam or a Tiramisu Latte because they're both good! I will say it is a small cafe so there isn't a lot of seating, but I usually see people studying/working here when I visit. The parking lot is also kind of small due to the plaza size so you may or may not have to park on the street depending on the time you go. read more
The staff here is amazing, the drinks are amazing, and the vibe is definitely vibing. The monkey business latte is SO FREAKING GOOD! It's a sweetened latte with banana cream cold foam and trust me, it sounds weird, but you will LOVE it. They make their own banana milk, so it doesn't have that artificial taste. I came back and tried the matcha monkey business, which is the same as above in matcha form, and it was also really good, but I definitely like the latte better! I will be stopping by every time I'm near this place! Highly recommend trying them out! read more

Small parking lot. Be aware that some spots are marked for neighboring businesses, so parking can be quite difficult on busy days. There is street parking also but be mindful that it is in front of people's homes. The interior gives off a cool vibe with dark tones, moderate to dim lighting. Nice place to hang out with friends to chat or play board games. I came a couple times before and the noise level was light enough to study or work. However, a Saturday morning might not be the best time to study/work since they crank up the music quite loud. The staff here are very nice, which has been consistent the 3 times I've visited! The cashier was even helpful when I asked what she suggested on which sauce to add on my avocado toast and it wasn't a disappointment at all! I ordered the avocado toast with egg and spicy aioli. If you're used to spice, it wasn't spicy at all but a great additive to the dish. So far, I've only tried their seasonal drinks which have been great! In the fall, I tried their pumpkin matcha which was such a delight! Good amount of matcha flavor with a hint of pumpkin flavor and a nice cold foam on top. In the winter, I've tried their campfire latte with oat milk which had a nice hint of a roasted flavor and creaminess. Their pasties are also very good, although I've only had their croissants and matcha cookie. I would definitely come back to try other things. Hopefully on a day where their music isn't too loud so I can enjoy their drinks and read a book. read more
