They plenty of seating, perfect to meet up with your friends and get coffee. The service there was great. The cashier was very helpful and helping me decide wha to get. I usually prefer my coffees and lattes on the sweeter side.I decided with The Incredible Ape Latte and Snow Monkey. I love banana and matcha so i was pretty excited. Also they have good pasteries and will warm up for you. This place will get busy late mornings / afternoons w students and people doing work; probably bc they have comfortable seating (2 person tables) but you'll have to get there earlier to secure a spot. This place was good. I've been on the hunt for a banana latte and this hit the spot! It's a cute little place but I was able to find a place to sit with my boyfriend and two brothers. It's dark and cool in there which was nice on this sunny Sunday. I was greeted and helped pretty quickly and the man taking my order was willing to help me find the perfect drink, and even though I was nervous to try something new he told me if I didn't like it he could get me something else. Directions take you to N Mcpherson rd but the coffee shop is off of N Malena. There is limited parking but it's a calm area so you can park across the street or behind and just walk there. The coffee shop has a nice aesthetic seating is limited but the bar seating seems to always be open and there's a couple of stools by the front and a table outside. Never again. We were second in line and the cashier spent literally 16 minutes ( I was timing) explaining the entire menu to the party in front of us. When it was our turn, no explanation. Didn't even try to explain their cream top specialties. I was done in less than 2 min. Then when we got the matcha latte, didn't know it was sweetened. Most, if not all, of the coffee shops ask if you'd like it sweetened. When we went back and asked, she didn't offer to remake and just basically said that's your fault for not reading that the menu said it includes simple syrup and we should've read closely. No customer service. Then as we left the counter she turned and was gossiping to the other employee about us, no doubt. Even Starbucks will remake for free just to make customers happy. I've been reviewing a bunch businesses that serve both coffee and matcha and this one has taken one of the top spots for me. I like the vibe of this place and it seems like a good place to study if you're around. Lighting is in abrasive and I think you would be able to meet up with friends in this area. This place is a little bit small and there isn't that much parking. But I don't think that would be an issue since most people including myself were just getting to go. There's a bunch of signs that say cash free so make sure you bring your Apple pay or Google pay or a credit card. Workers are also very friendly and you can tell that everything is handmade. So back to the actual drink and food. First time I was only able to get the drink because the pastries that I wanted to try kept getting sold out. Matcha is very smooth and they have a lot of customizations in terms of dairy and non-dairy milk options. The cold foam on the top of the drink is a banana based topping and you can taste the freshness of the banana. It's the kind of banana that hasn't gone so brown. It's the in between light yellow barely pass green. Which is my preference for eating fresh bananas anyway. I'm sure the coffee would be good if you got it the same way. What definitely set this place over the top was that there excellent customer service. They made an effort to acknowledge me at the store and were very knowledgeable. So situation was that I've been trying to get my hands on some of their pastries for the past week. I've tried going in person and ordering online. Both times I was out of luck. This time I planned on ordering one day first opened at 8:00 a.m. but online order have to be canceled since they were out of stock. What was really kind of them is that they called me and told me they appreciated me trying to try out their food so they invited me in the future to come by and get a drink and pastry. What a nice gesture since coffee shops don't have to do that! When they did have it in stock, they ended up calling me and inviting me in. Judging by going on a Saturday at 11:30am there was only 2 groups in front of us and the line went by fast. When you first walk in the coffee place has dim-lighting it was surprising because most coffee places have a lot of natural light at least the ones I go to but it was cool! If you're feeling a drink that's less sweet, the cloud ape is perfect and if you're feeling like a creamier drink, the snow monkey is really good. Besides the drinks, I tried their pastries as well which are so delicious. Their strawberry croissant is a croissant topped with some gooey goodness on top which consists of strawberries and some sort of sugar concoction. It's really good without being too sweet.
