My experience with Ape Coffee: Pleasant but pricey. I stopped by on a Monday at 9:30am, the parking lot was pretty much empty and so was the shop. There was one other person working or studying inside. I ordered the Monkey Business Matcha Latte and the Everything Croissant through the kiosk to avoid speaking to anybody, but one of the employees struck up conversation with me and they were very friendly so I didn't mind. :) Monkey Business Matcha Latte ($6.58): I figured I should try their specialty-- the other option I considered was the Monkey Business Latte. I asked for this to be half sweet with regular ice, and it perfectly suited my tastes. The banana foam was light and creamy, and the cinnamon added some nice flavor to what would have been a very milky and creamy drink. The foam itself smelled like actual bananas and was lightly sweet. Good amount of matcha flavor too. Would order this again if I wanted to indulge myself in something a little more special than a regular matcha latte. Everything Croissant ($5.58): I asked for this to be warmed up and it smelled REALLY good in the car on the way home (bought it home for my partner). He said it tasted good and the cream cheese filling was nice, but not worth buying again because it was a pretty small croissant that ended up being $1 less than the drink. :/ As noted in other reviews, the cafe is a little smaller than I thought it would be, and also seems quite dark or closed in as a result of the black walls. I've been a loyal customer of APE for a while now--love the coffee, the friendly staff however, I was really disappointed to learn that they've stopped offering online ordering. Being able to place an order ahead of time was super convenient, especially on busy mornings or when I was in a rush. Without that option, it's harder to fit a quick coffee run into my schedule, and I've had to skip my usual stop more often than I'd like. I totally understand that small businesses have to make tough decisions sometimes, but I hope they consider bringing back online orders or even offering a limited pre-order option. Came here after seeing a post on Instagram. The place is located in a really really small plaza (don't know if I would call it a plaza), but parking is really hard to find. As I was leaving a police officer was giving a car a ticket for parking on the side street even though there were other cars parked there. And I also saw these group of young kids parked in a handicap spot with no handicap placard. Anyways on to the drinks and ambiance. Once you walk into the store you will be blasted with loud music (literally like your in a club) with a bunch of young kids. You can barely hear yourself putting in your order. I went with the cloud ape and my cousin went with the monkey business. The drinks were okay. What I liked best about ape coffee was how unique their menu was. I had never had anything like the monkey business latte. Adding banana cream to a latte is such a creative idea and I really liked it. The gorilla toast was also a great option. Again, very creative with spicy Mayo on top, arugula, and chili flakes. The bread for the avocado toast was thick and it had plenty of avocado on top. The coffee shop itself is also unique. It had an industrial looking interior with seating throughout. Came by at around 10 am on New Year's Day and there wasn't many pastries to choose from! I ordered the mocha which is out of my element nowadays and was pleasantly surprised that it had a big piece of cinnamon and chocolate pieces. It was not too sweet and not overly decadent. I really enjoyed it. We also ordered the bacon and chive croissant and the chocolate croissant. I really enjoyed the bacon one but thought both could use more filling. We were able to get parking and seats in the cafe but it got a little busy as the time went on. People brought some of their study materials and their dogs! I decided to try this place out after seeing so many people post about it. The parking lot is very limited & from the outside it looks closed, but once inside the vibes are there, it's very well lit lots of tables and chairs. I ordered a iced matcha latte and the girl taking my order very friendly! But the latte itself was a disappointment. It tasted very watery and grainy. The banana cream tastes like real bananas and not simply banana milk, and it has a really nice creaminess to it. I just wish there was an extra shot, but still a really solid drink! Cloud ape was decent, tasted like how a typical cold brew with cream tastes like. Snow monkey is my second choice, and my bf really likes this one; it tastes better than a typical brown sugar latte and has a good flavor! Lastly, the mexican howler latte was pretty interesting, but it just tasted like a deep chocolate milk with a dash of cinnamon bc of the lack of espresso flavor. Also, I would recommend to just get regular ice because if you ask for less ice, you're gonna be missing like a good inch of drink Seating is pretty decent and it's comfy to do work for a few hours at a time; there's also outlets! I came on a Monday afternoon, a few days ago. I normally don't write reviews, but felt I gotta: Drink (4.5/5): Monkey Business (Honey Latte with Banana foam) - The drink was sweet enough to satisfy the cravings and also, gotta love a good foam drink. This is the only place I know that does a banana foam (they use real bananas too, instead of syrup). Pastry (5/5): Black Sesame Croissant - If you like black sesame, you need to try this. The black sesame tastes toasted, which brings out the nutty flavor. The spread is dense, not like a cream, and has a good amount inside. I've also tried the plain croissant, best croissants I've had. Seating (3.5/5): a Few tables and stools, but mainly taken. So it can get busy if you come later in the day. Other: I got to hear one of the workers, Chris, talk about his passion for coffee. It's really good to go to a place where people care so much about their craft and really friendly too. When I walked in I was greeted by the baristas and offered any help with suggestions for drinks or if I had questions. They were super friendly, and walked me through a few of the most popular drinks. I went with the Monkey Business Latte. They use fresh bananas not an artificial syrup so it tasted delicious. While I waited for my drink they let me try their kombucha on tap and their nitro cold brew. Both were also delicious. They have plenty of seats inside, the decor is a cool modern vibe. The vibe is really nice especially if you like dim lit areas and the aesthetic was clean and modern. There is also a good amount of seating for those who want to chill or study. They also have outlets in case you are wondering. They also have a decent amount of pastries to choose from (at least when we went). It can get a bit busy but the customer service is really good.
