Anthony and his team did a fantastic job with our painting. First putting it on the stretch canvas then working with me closely to find the right frame. When the quality of the frame didn't come in as expected from their vendor they took the time to source a new one to make sure it was in mint condition and even worked overtime to make sure the job finished in time for when we were hosting guests. So happy with the framing of our photo of the Grand Canyon. It took two visits. The first time, Anthony suggested that although Fastframe could sell me the mat, it might be cheaper to buy the mat at a nearby hobby store, and bring it back to him to cut. It turned out the hobby store was not cheaper, so I bought the mat at Fastframe and Anthony cut it - all for less than $45. (Michael's was $47 just for the mat.) The second visit was the fun part. I brought in our photo and Anthony helped me decide which color mat was best for the photo. What did I want to highlight in the photo? What was the color of the frame? What was the color of the wall where it would be installed? I went with an olive green, drawing the viewer's attention to the green formations in the foreground and then back into the rest of the photo. I really appreciated that Anthony took the time to help me through that process. The mat was ready on time and then he gave me tips on how to put everything together, urging me to call him if I had any trouble in the process. It makes me want to see what he/I can do with photos from other trips! I'll definitely be back. read more

I've been meaning to write a review for this frame shop for a while. Anthony is a master in his work, an art enthusiast and a super friendly guy. I had many of my art pieces that I have collected over the years from different countries framed or reframed there.i could not be happier with the results. The finale was a 3 piece museum quality giant art pieces that I wanted to change just the matting around the paintings. Anthony opened the existing frame, changed the matt and put the whole thing back together better than the original. Now, the paintings are perfect! He even made me rent a UHaul truck because he didn't want the frames to be damaged. He was right! He loaded the frames in the truck, tied them up and went through this whole process with a smile on his face. I highly recommend Lafayette Fast Frame. They are fast but they are also meticulous and very professional. read more

I don't think I've ever taken the time to write a review on Yelp, even though I often receive excellent customer service, enjoy delicious food, etc... But this is different! My partner and I bought a couple of funky vintage framed prints, but when we put them up on the wall, we noticed that the prints were wavy under the glass. My partner is an artist and knew that this sometimes happens with watercolor paintings or when paper is exposed to moisture. We were so in love with the framed prints that we must not have noticed... and they weren't cheap! So we wanted to address the waviness/warping. We took it first to a popular local framer in WC and the guy there recommended he basically permanently adhere it to foam board that was NOT acid-free (their glue was acid-neutral), which meant that our art would be permanently mounted on cheap foam board AND would yellow over time because of the glue they use. So instead I called Anthony, proprietor of Fast Frame in Lafayette, and HE WAS AMAZING... Over the phone he kindly suggested I bring in the art so that he could assess everything ("Like a doctor would a patient"). As he was assessing our beloved art and BEFORE we gave him our business, he cleaned out the debris from between the art and glass and put felt pads behind the frame, etc. He clearly explained to us how paper and framing work and offered a solution that was reversible (i.e., non-permanent) and acid-free - wet mounting. Not only was his solution EXACTLY what we were looking for, but it was also the most affordable option (and I'm the type who never pays retail). We just picked the art up this morning and put it back up on the wall; (he even changed the mounting hardware on the frame and included a nail and hook). (Check out the photo I posted.) We're extremely happy with Lafayette's Fast Frame and will take all our art there from now on! read more

After searching for years, we recently found 2 amazing paintings that we were eager to hang in our home. Brought them to Fast Frame following the recommendation of avid art collectors from Orinda.
