Since it was our first time there, we wanted to sample some other items too, we got: 1. Meatball app (4) - not the best I've ever had but really good, especially the sauce 2. Eggplant Marino - couldn't really tell there was eggplant between the layers of fried coating - way too thin! 3. Their meatballs are very good and this time didn't disappoint either. The gluten free pizza was odd. The crust was fine, but it was covered with cheese and just a dab of sauce on it. Worst service I have ever had. Waited 45 minutes for our salad and brought out first pizza at the same time. When I commented on the fact the salad and pizza came out at the same time, the server told me no one specified that we wanted our salads first. Traveling through area. First time trying coal fired pizza. We utilized delivery and ate at a nearby hotel. Delivery was through Uber, and was on time and app provided good updates. Pizza was fresh and not flawed, it was good but not great. It had a little more char than we prefer. One pizza was completely black on bottom, not a speck of brown. Good amount of toppings. I had a work dinner here last week and it was pretty good! I've had takeout from the McMurray location in the past but have never dined inside. The only semi-disappointing part of my meal was my martini which I ordered dirty and it came straight up; being one of the first folks in the party to arrive, there was a long lag in service and I didn't bother asking for the drink to be remade which is something I hate to do anyways. Food was awesome. We all tried a little of everything. Anything I tasted was delicious from caesar salad, to the garlic knots, to the buffalo wings, to the classic cheese pizza to the uncle pauli's. There were pieces of bread, maybe focaccia, under the wings and they were amazing too. The bread had the right amount of chew with great seasoning, as well. The pizza was nice! The sauce was a little sweet and the crust was small/thinner. The outer crust kind of reminded me of a breadstick in size and texture. Great fun place to eat and it was hopping on a Friday evening. Even though this is at Settlers Ridge, parking was bit difficult (it is located across from the theater), so we are assuming that's why the lot was really full. We did get seated quickly and ordered the most delicious tuna salad sandwich and the Pauli's pizza. We chose half hot and half sweet peppers but had to immediately take off the hot because they were CRAZY hot. Food took a little while but expected, since all the tables and most of the bar seats were full. We took home most of the pizza and look forward to having it for leftovers. Sides are great and 2items are unique: garlic knots and the broccoli Rabe w/italian sausage. All the other apps are done better pretty much everywhere else. Pizza's only: if you have a taste for a great fired flat bread pizza, they have a delicious and unique taste and the pizza dough is tasty. However, stick to the traditional pre-made red sauce varieties or make your own: every white sauce pizza is so oily to make it uncomfortable, and they were incredibly skimpy on the shrimp scampi pizza (a signature "special" offering for July!) with less than 1 shrimp per piece for a $24 large pizza (8 slices). The pasta dishes we ordered were also done better pretty anywhere else. Shrimp scampi was greasy vs savory flavorful, again a "signature" dish with 6 medium 21-25 size shrimp for $19.50! The ceasar small portion was enough for 3 people, again the $6 shrimp add was 4 shrimp. Chicken sandwich with broccoli rabe (see a theme here? ;-)), so they made it with a pizza dough that was huge! Creative and I liked that but they didn't increase the portion of chicken breast (1 medium sliced), and it was too much. I ended up packing that , adding isley's ham, ceasar dressing and my own arugula the next day and it was amazing. Again, their dough is delicious & compliments anything well. They should make a pizza dough sandwich that is unique and I'd go for that. All in- we went for the garlic knots and broccoli dishes. 2 adults 2 pre-teens with non-soecific appetites, (think baby sharks), no alcoholic drinks, set us back $139.00. (2 orders of knots and 2 appetizers broccoli raves so looking at it it wasn't bad pricing actually. We just happen to like 2 of the more expensive apps. I will say that have a great veterans discount (50% off the most expensive item) which I really appreciated. Bringing the bill to 119.00 plus ~22% tip, ~$145.00 for 4 people or $36/person. No worth it for the experience or portions... as I said.. we certainly weren't hungry afterwards and we took 2 apps home so a decently filling meal. We've have been here at least 10 times and the food is always good. My favorite is the coal fired wings with caramelized onions. The BEST wings ever. Great charred chicken flavor tans the onions melt on your mouth. Theo house salad is made with romaine lettuce and is always crisp (how do they do that?) the vinegarette is light and they even put the most underused vegetable (celery) in the salad. Sooo good. My husband is a big fan of the pizza with sausage, onions and olives. Don't let the 3.5 star rating keep you from missing this unique spin on Italian. read more
