Monday afternoon....Having to wait nearly an hour for a hoagie and 6 wings whenever there was only maybe 8-10 total patrons after placing our order is inexcusable with that tiny bit of clientele in the building during the time of ordering......very expensive for what you get too, and also the place was disgusting! I made my return to Rockefellers after at least a 10/15 year absence. My wife and I were attending an event nearby and decided Rockefellers would be a decent choice for a meal. We were promptly seated. After being seated our waitress kind of disappeared. She eventually reappeared, but it is obvious regulars are favored here. We placed our drink orders the same time as our meals. My wife and I both ordered draft beer and felt they tasted flat. I ordered one of the specials (pot roast) and it was supposedly sold out, 90 minutes after the on sale. Minimal to no check ins. My wife had a fish sandwich and had to ditch her soggy bun midway through. I'm in no rush to return. Portion for the pot roast was beyond lackluster. Atmosphere was average at best. I was in PA on Thursday the 5th for a regional service manager meeting. Rockefeller's Grille came highly recommended. There were 5 of us so we walked in and the hostess promptly seated us at a large enough table to accommodate our party of 5. The waitress came over a short time later and took our drink orders. She came back with our drinks and we ordered our food. We didn't wait too long and our lunch was served. The portion sizes were very generous. I ordered a grilled cheese with tomato & mushrooms on it and it came with French fries. The sandwich was delicious and very large, I ate 1/2 of it. I needed a to go container for the other half. Went to a class reunion it was held on ther porch It was a $50.00 per person buffet. It was awful. The salad was watery it was wilted swimming in Italian dressings already on it. Over cooked fried chicken and a pasta with sauce that tasted like jar sauce. Seriously I almost left. Drink were cheap. I felt bad for the people that set this up. Stadium Fries. Seasoned nicely, tons of cheese, on beer battered fries. Langostino Over Linguini was properly buttery and well seasoned. The garlic bread crumb finish was what really brought everything together once mixed in. Seated fast. Swear we received the fries within 5mins of ordering. Plenty of bar area seating to watch sports and also a lower area for more dining style and a back room for privacy. 9/9 not going here again would be a crime. read more

It had been years since I had eaten at Rockefeller's, but I had been a regular for years when I worked in Crafton. I had often bragged to friends that the best reuben in town was at Rockefeller's, and that their portions were generous and I had always enjoyed my time there. Today I happened to be in the neighborhood of a friend who was celebrating his birthday, and he suggested Rockefeller's. I was immediately excited as I hadn't been there in 18 years or so. I ordered a started of fried mozzarella and my beloved reuben with a side of fries. The cheese sticks arrived, looking a bit haggard, even for being hand-cut. They tasted just fine, but there were only 5 small pieces for $11.25. Not really sure it was worth the money. Out came the reuben and fries. A small salad bowl of fries - generous portion - and the reuben spanning the length of the oval plate, just as I remembered. The fries were fine, but I think they could have been seasoned better. They were warm, but the were not fresh-out-of-the-fryer piping hot. I think they could've benefited from a seasoned salt perhaps, but again, just lacking seasoning and piping hot temp all around. Then I finally took a bite of the reuben - this reuben that I had praised up and down to many folks over the years (and this reuben that I had personally eaten myself time and time again). It was . . . eh. I looked inside, and found nicely toasted/grilled bread, a nice tight layer of sauerkraut, just enough dressing to make it sloppy in a good way, and little corned beef (incidentally, it was slightly annoying to me when the otherwise delightful waiter, when taking my order for the reuben, asked if I wanted corned beef or turkey. "Silly, silly," I thought, "I ordered a reuben, not a Rachel, he should know the difference." Upon second glance at the menu, the menu didn't make the distinction, so fair question based on a boo boo on the menu. The corned beef situation literally looked one slice thin, which each slice slightly overlapping the other to cover the length of the bread. I took one bite and put it down. The waiter astutely asked how everything was and I asked "Is this the normal portion of corned beef for a reuben?" He said that the cook weighs everything out. So I wasn't going to argue with that because either a. the cook didn't in this case or b. he did and the portion size not only has shrunk since I had been there last, but dipped into the territory of disappointing. The only other thing that I found slightly annoying (aside from the very narrow booths) is something that I find annoying at several places, which is an uncharge for onion rings. I just think if a French fry is offered as a side and you have onion rings available, that should be an even swap. Maybe you bring a few less rings as opposed to fries, but a $2.00 up charge for onion rings when the reuben could have come from the vegetarian section of a menu? And the waiter couldn't even vouch for the onion rings being worth it - he was honest though and said he didn't personally care for onion rings. The server was on his game the whole time - I thought he did great. I am conflicted about my experience here. I know things in general are more expensive post Covid and amidst the financial instability of the current day, but Rockefeller's used to be a place where I didn't mind spending money that I really shouldn't spend because I knew whatever I got, I'd really enjoy it and would want to come back. After this experience, I am not sure it won't be another 18 years before I am back. I certainly don't have a strong desire to seek it out or recommend it as highly as I once did. Such a shame. ONE LAST RANT: I was told there was an AMAZING beer battered fish sandwich on the menu by a friend a number of months ago. Then I learned that it is only offered on Friday's in Lent. You should consider making that a part of your normal menu or at least a Friday special. Your location is in a very Catholic part of town - and it doesn't have to be Lent to enjoy a great beer battered fish dish! read more

It has been a long time since I ate here and believe me it did not disappoint. The place is very modern looking with an event area attached to it. They have an extensive menu but today I was looking for the traditional hamburger. Note these are not patties but rather made from scratch burgers. I had their Rockefeller burger which came with the works along with a side of fries. This was one of the freshest burgers I had in a long time and oh so messy! You can always tell it is good by how messy it is. Was also well seasoned. The fries were cooked piping hot and came in its own separate dish. Had an excellent wait staff who catered to my needs. Rockefeller's grille is located in a small strip plaza near the Kennedy Giant Eagle. Since there are other businesses there parking is very easy and convenient. Family took us to Rockefeller's Grille when we visited from Texas. It was fantastic! I got the Stuffed Eggplant Parmigiana, and it was completely delicious! Unique and best eggplant parmigiana I've ever had! Our whole party loved everything they got. The restaurant was spacious with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Just didn't hit the mark. Ordered the happy hour fried zucchini, arrived looking great, tasted like wet cardboard. Seemed like the zucchini had been breaded and then sat in a cooler than fried. It wasn't crispy at all, was limp and soggy. Asked for wings well done & they were barely cooked. The fries with my fish were stone cold. The only decent thing was my fish but I was so disgusted by everything else we only ate a bit and left. Drinks were good & service was good too. Considering how expensive it is to eat out now a days I'm expecting the quality and cooking of the food to match. This review is intended to dispute the very low rating provided by Carol B. regarding a reunion that we had on October 11, 2025. Carol is entitled to her review and experience but some of her facts are incorrect and out of the 23 classmates who attended, 22 of them had a great time and enjoyed the food and excellent service provided by Debbie. Nicole Smith also did an outstanding job preparing for the event with me and Joan B. They were very helpful with setting up some presentation equipment I brought for the reunion and supported everything we asked of them. I couldn't disagree more with Carol B. but I'm sorry to hear she didn't have the great time enjoyed by the other 22 classmates. The $5 was a rebate from the $50 cost to attend from the reunion committee, not the restaurant. In addition, please be aware that our last reunion cost, at a major hotel in the airport area, was $83/person and the cost at this reunion was $42/person. read more

We checked out Rockefeller's before a show at the Roxian Theater. We called ahead from the car and were seated right away when we arrived which was awesome. Our waiter, Dave, was very good. The food was so-so. We ordered a Rockefeller Burger and a small linguini with one meatball. The burger was overcooked and came with fries. I asked about ordering a baked potato instead of the fries but they wanted to charge an extra $2.00??!!! I was shocked because the menu listed the fry price at $4.29 vs the potato price at $4.74. Strange math going on here. The linguini was way overcooked but the meatball was decent. There is plenty of free parking and the restaurant area is roomy and nicely lit. I haven't experienced this restaurant during lunch or dinner rushes, so I can't honestly post a five-star yet. Perhaps I should have waited to write a review until then, because if I had this experience during those hours, this would have been five stars. Maybe next time. That being said, there were three of us at table and everyone liked the food. Our server, Dallas, was attentive and the meals were served quickly and came hot from the kitchen. My guests had appetizers and I ordered the stuffed eggplant. The portions were large, as others have pointed out. My guests finished their meals; I reheated about 1/3 of mine the next day and it was as tasty as it had been before. It got noisy in the place as the crowd grew -- but no one expected elegant dining anyway. Yes, it's a little pricey, but if you get your money's worth, and our party did, what not to like? read more

Here's the thing: I wish that I was able to rate the food and experience as a whole, but truth is, we didn't even get to that point. Within a few moments of walking in, my party of 3 was rudely called to by a member of the waitstaff, and after asking if we were to wait to be seated or if it was just open, I was RUDELY yelled at to sit wherever there was NOT a "Reserved" sign, which was 90% of the building. After thanking the woman, we went to a table next to the bar, where we sat for the next 10 minutes, ignored by both bartenders and the rest of the waitstaff as they walked by and simply just stared at us. At this point, we left, and decided to go somewhere else. The floors looked dirty, and the table was sticky. I wish I could have asked for a rag to wipe the table, but that didn't happen either. I understand that everybody is entitled to a bad day, but you should NOT take it out on your customers, especially new perspective ones. Period. read more

I called in and they said the wait was an hour, which is expected on a Friday during lent so I didn't mind. The place was packed when I got there so I had high expectations. Picking it up was easy, I just walked right up to the hostess station and my food was ready. The fish was supposed to be beer battered, and I'm not sure if it was. It was quite soggy by the time I got it home. The fries were delicious, they were definitely battered. Rockefeller is a regular dinner spot for us. The atmosphere is family friendly. The menu is big enough to accommodate several tastes yet not too large that everything tastes the same. My dinner choice was the meatball casserole this visit. The meatballs were amazballs! The portion was enough that I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Other fan favorites in our household are a hot garlic, wings, and the bacon burger. If you order a calzone be prepared to wait, but it's absolutely worth wait. It's enough for two people! Our servers are always friendly. Most recognize us as regulars. They have fun menus for things like holidays, Mother's Day, and Valentine's Day. Definitely a great date night location. In fact my husband proposed to me on Valentines Day 2021 after date night at Rockefeller! read more

Came here for the first time for dinner. Made reservations ahead of time. Ordered their stuffed banana peppers as an appetizer, double size Cajun wings, single size of their jerk chicken wings, pepperoni calzone, and their white chocolate raspberry pie, and a berry martini. What's Hot - Portions. Hubby's calzone was huge! There were different types of cheeses in the calzone- ricotta, mozzarella, and a couple others. It was well stuffed and the dough was not too thick nor too thin. It was so large that hubby could only finish half of his calzone. My wings came with bleu cheese dressing and celery sticks. No skimping on the celery sticks and dressing, either which is important. - Quality. Hubby and I liked the cajun sauce for my wings, because there was a kick of spiciness. There was enough wing sauce at the bottom of my dish that we could dip the bread in, which was yummy. The calzone had all the ingredients listed in the menu and was delicious. The white chocolate raspberry pie was pretty good, too. It had a thin layer of raspberry on the bottom of the pie and was topped with a white chocolate type mousse and whipped cream. The chocolate crust was crumbly and not dry. We were told their pies are made every week, which is a good sign of freshness. - Layout. There are tables, booths, and a bar area. The bar has several tvs showing current sports games, so be prepared for it to be noisy! The bar crowd kept yelling and screaming throughout the games. - Parking. This place has a large banquet hall in the back, so be prepared for large crowds to come and go at times, too. The good thing is there is a large parking lot, so it looks like it's equipped to handle a large crowd. - Price. Seems pretty reasonable. We ordered a martini, which was under $10. Hubby's calzone was $15, which isn't bad given the portion of the calzone. The prices seem pretty reasonable, but it probably depends on what you order. Our total came out to $60 without tip. Kinda high, but we ordered a fair amount of food. What's Not - Service. Hubby and I arrived at the time of our reservation. We had to wait several minutes for the hostess to seat us after we checked in. The first time the hostess tried to seat us, she ended up taking us back to the front, because she said she forgot they were full. What? You're the hostess and it's your job to stay on top of the seating situation of the restaurant and know what's going on. Not a good sign. We noticed other people being seated ahead of us, who came after us, which isn't cool, especially since I made reservations. Additionally, service throughout our dinner was terrible. We had to ask for bread after we were served our appetizers. It was difficult for us to find and flag down our waiter throughout our dinner. When we did make requests, it took a long time just to get the basics, like water, straws, etc... From what we could see, their wait staff looked disorganized and not enough. - Quality. The banana peppers weren't spicy. It would've been nice to have a thicker raspberry filling in the pie, but that's just us. It was barely there. Having more raspberry would've given the pie a better fruity flavor. Final answer Willing to come back, but may not be a first choice given the quality of service. read more

It's not Cheesecake Factory style where they combine both flavors into one cheesecake whole, it's 2 layers of cheesecake and 2 layers of red velvet. Divine!! Came here with a few of my coworkers while it was very crowded after our last day at work (many of us were laid off collectively). Considering how crowded it was I felt the one waitress was doing everything she could to see everyone on time (and I could feel her stress) which is why I felt the issue was more that the restaurant was simply understaffed for the amount of people who were there at that time and so everything took a bit longer than usual - especially getting my card back which was almost 20 minutes. I ordered the steak salad and I did enjoy it for the most part although it didn't nourish me the way I would have wanted it to for a salad. Actually, it really was not so much of a salad as it was a thick layer of shredded provolone cheese with a small amount of salad like toppings added to it. The menu was very misleading about this because it claims that "the salads below are served on a HUGE bed of fresh greens" which I don't understand how they could feel justified saying considering it was really just a very thin layer of ice burg lettuce more than it was a huge bed of fresh greens. Still, I really enjoyed the grilled red onions and mushrooms they added to the cheese and loved the quality of the ranch dressing they used. They only added maybe 4 or 5 fries, 2 sliced cucumbers, 2 grape tomatoes and 2 black olives so they could have easily doubled some of those toppings. I mentioned that I could not find the tomatoes at first (because they were hidden in the cheese) and the waitress did go out of her way to bring me a whole bowl of grape tomatoes which I was very appreciative of. The steak was not as great as many other steak salads I have tried because it was very hard/chewy/bland and I so I actually found myself eating everything except the steak which is odd as usually the steak is my favorite part. My friend who ordered the club loved it and they gave her a very generous portion of it and my other friend was only able to eat half of her steak hoagie (which was also a generous portion) and she also said she loved it.
