We just at dinner and over all very good. The seafood fettuccine was excellent as was the wagu steak. However, my halibut fish and chips not so much. The coleslaw with the ginger nit good. Instead of fries I choose the rice pilaf which was tasteless. 2 out of three not bad. Amy our server was awesome. One thing that was noticed was the dirty white converse worn br the Hostess. I'm paying over two hundred to die in a supposed nice place and the Hostess is wearing dirty converse. I know small grievance but was annoyed. I didn't mention why my fish was so bad. I got a couple of requests of my wife for her birthday. Just dinner with the kids, and in Boise. Oh, OK. Not an issue. I can do that!! I looked around for some fine dining and Anthony's came up. Checked it out, on Yelp! of course, and booked a reservation. Easy. They do Open Table. It's right down on Front Street with views of west downtown, and Jump! Ample parking below and Validated! Words I love to hear when I walk in. "Did you park below? We Validate!" They took us through the lobby to the main dining room and to a very nice booth. Who doesn't love a booth? Private, and it looked out to the windows in front. They gave us a nice menu of the day [inserted] and a wine & drinks menu. Our waitress was quite prompt and told us of specials and some apps we might like. We picked the fresh made Crab Cakes. This was a great choice. 1 per plate, so we ordered 2. They were big and came with a plum sauce and lemon sauce. Both were amazing. We had drinks, I had a Gray Goose martini over ice, my wife and daughter had lemon and cranberry martinis, and my son had a Coke. We all were happy. I will say my olives were a little tiny, like micro, but tasted good stuffed with Blue Cheese (what they could get in them). As for main plates, I had the Filet, medium, my wife had 1/2 rack of lamb, my daughter had something Alfedo, and my son had Salmon. All of our dishes were really good. We finished up with a molten lava chocolate cake. Yeah, yeah, it is of the pervasive hit parade, but there is a reason for that. When it's made right, they are amazing. Virtually everyone loves it. And, this one was right up there. Really good with a slab of ice cream. I'll give extra points to Anthony's for the beautiful Cobalt water glasses. Nice touch, and excellent bar and dining room aesthetics. Very Uptown feel. Wait staff was plentiful and friendly. Our waiter did everything off the top of her head, always impressive. All around it's what you would expect for fine dining, and prices that are on the upper side of San Francisco's Nob Hill. So there ya go. It IS pricy. That being said, it was really a nice time, very good food, and great atmosphere in a place [Treasure Valley] where many places, even good ones, lack that polish. Well, Anthony's has polish! Dear Bill-your judgement of our family was evident by the ridiculous lack of attention you paid us. It all started after ten minutes of being ignored as you declared 'I didn't see you over here'.....uhm whatever. Turned your nose up the minute we didn't order wine.Apparently a price tag of almost $300 wasn't worthy of your service. Anyone who just flops a beer bottle down on a table without offering an ice cold glass is beyond pompous. Management should be advised your restaurant also did not serve us anything worthy of the price tag we paid. Very beautiful restaurant. Great wait staff! We had the Lobster dinner. It was delicious. My only complaint is that they need to serve the Lobster and "butter" hot. Serve both on a hot steak plate and lid it. I put real butter in the clarified oil/butter they served and it did not melt. Hence it was no wear near hot. A simple fix. I had dinner during happy hour and was offered a dinner menu, after I wasn't given the menu I asked for halibut and chips. I was told an exception was made but that's not a dinner menu item. I've had the dish before and I was given a FULL plate of French fries ( probably 6 servings) and 3 1 inch pieces of fish( if that).I thought maybe my meal is downsized because it's a lunch item, so I didn't complain. The bill came and of course it was the usual $40 price. I really should have taken a photo, and this item should just be removed from the menu if you don't have to supply. The waitress asked if I wanted to box up the fries, that let me know they actually thought filling my plate with fries made up for the lack of fish. The food itself was good: 4 + stars. It tasted fresh, not overcooked or dry, not poorly seasoned. My husband had the dungeness crab to relive our years in Gig Harbor "trapping" our own, while I had the Lobster pasta dish. I liked that the lobster tail was set on top of the pasta, to allow me to eat it separately. The pasta was also very good and a large portion. The waitress was the right amount of attentive: not solicitous, but who kept an eye on our progress: refilling waters ,bringing more lemons, and knowing when we were ready for the bill. I gave the restaurant - 4 stars from a lack of available ambiance due to loud patrons seated nearby: Anthony's staff kindly reseated us after our first table was near a very raucous group who had been libating there for quite some time.... but then at our second table, the guy right next to us was obviously trying to impress his date and he never stopped boasting about himself LOUDLY enough to have to hear his life story for an entire hour. We gave up on holding our own conversation. We aren't typically bothered by "people sounds" around us, but this did make us re-evaluate whether we would ever go back again for a "nice evening out." read more

We had the sunset dinner, 3 course meal b4 5:30 for $26.50. Turns out, smaller portions, but perfect for me. Rik was satiated, but not full. Table came with half a loaf of sour dough bread from Zeppoli's. I ordered: their "famous" clam chowder, scampi shrimp with rice pilaf and seasonal veggies, and creme brule'. Rik ordered the salmon spread with chips, rock fish (came with same as mine), and chocolate mousse. Mine: Clam chowder - first bite had grit in it, that's a hard no. Flavor was good, but I've had better. Scampi shrimp - over cooked (shrimp were curled HARD in on themselves), needed more seasoning, rice pilaf was tepid, seasonal veggies were cauliflower & brussel sprouts, both waaay underdone, nearly raw, also tepid. Creme brule was awful - creme brule should crack HARD when you smack the back of the spoon on the sugar crust. Nope. Custard was still warm and "wet" (not fully set up yet) so when they tried to crystallize the sugar it just got soggy. Warm custard & soggy sugar crust. Yes, I'm a creme brule snob. Rik's Salmon spread with taro chips- yuck, had a giant piece of skin in it (see pic), came with capers & red onion pieces, I've had better bagel spread. They were out of rock fish so he got the steelhead...and it was amazing! Seasoned beautifully! Chocolate mousse was ok, comes in a whiskey glass, half mousse half whipped cream. What a disappointment this place was. This was my second time in. The first time was great. Salmon was good, rice and coleslaw were good. Service was great. This time I came in alone and was hoping to treat myself to a great lunch and was sorely disappointed. First off, went to seat myself since there was no trace of anyone around, I sat in the bar area which is dark and liked it there. The waitress eventually saw me and said she couldn't serve me there because it was just her. Ok. Not a long walk at all. Then there were two tables with two people she definitely treated better. As I was waiting for my check, she was telling the new table of two about all the clam varieties they had. I was not given this info and was not given at all the attention I saw the other tables get. Sad. I ended up ordering the cioppino and Caesar salad special ($24). The cioppino was bowl size and one of the mussels was completely closed and the others Re all terribly gritty. It was an absolute abomination. When asked how things were I told the waitress the mussels had a lot of sand in them. She just dismissed it. The salmon that came in there was really of an off flavor and tasted old, the only halfway decent bite was the cod. By the time I struggled through finding a good bite of seafood in my $24 bowl of soup I was so put off I couldn't eat the salad, the few bites I took were fine. It's just that I lost my appetite chewing through sand, fishing out closed mussels and tasting very not fresh salmon. Extremely sad I spend $45 on lunch for myself that was meant to be a treat for a lot of things I've been through, and the first time here was really good. Obviously consistency is an issue for them. The fact it was so dead and I waited over an hour for my sandy old seafood soup is very telling. Will never be back. read more

3.5 stars-4 stars here. The hubby and I went for happy hour and dinner on a early Friday date night. We sat in the bar and enjoyed our time here. The service from start to finish was excellent, we were served by the bartender and he was very attentive and knowledgeable about both the restaurant and bar menu. The cocktails were okay, didn't blow my socks off like I hoped, but they were good. I had an old fashioned to start and it had small cubed ice and a maraschino cherry in it, not a cocktail cherry. IYKYK. My second cocktail was their spin on French 75, I would drink this here again. Hubby had a Huckleberry lemonade, and it was full of berries, very tart and refreshing. He had a couple other cocktails, all average. Not much to mention here either way. We had several appetizers to share. Fried oysters, steamer clams, and calamari. I wasn't a fan of the oysters but my husband liked them. We both really enjoyed the steamer clams and was the best of the appetizers we ate, the calamari was cooked perfectly, but lacked flavor, the aioli saved it. Our server did bring out bread as well and it was from Zeppole and delicious! Huckleberry cheesecake for dessert was rich and creamy, would order again. Disappointed no crab cakes on the menu as we were looking forward to them. Will go back again for dinner to try a full meal, and hope to try their famous no filler crab cakes. We didn't get our parking validated as stated in some reviews. Parked at Jump, it was about $10. Try not to compare this restaurant to other Anthony's locations, it will fall quite short. I am updating my previous review for a few reasons... 1st: Ryan the manager reached out to me directly. We had a very candid conversation. I felt like he genuinely cared and wanted to make things right. This carried a lot of weight with me. I am sure it isn't a pleasant part of his job but he handled it well and felt like he appreciated the feedback. 2nd: We decided to try again and it was a complete 180° change. Our waitress, Taylor, was amazing. She was friendly, attentive and confidently answered any questions we had. We had the oyster sampler.. they were delicious, and all were decent size. We also had the tempura asparagus and calamari; both of those were cooked to perfection and delicious as well. For our entrees we tried a new halibut item that had a rhubarb sauce and the filet Oscar both were perfect! The other couple in our party also really enjoyed the steelhead and a seafood salad. Taylor checked in often and made sure we were offered more than one round of drinks. We finished our meal with espressos and rhubarb cheese cake. It was the perfect ending. In my last review I had mentioned the bussing staff. I can't tell you exactly what was different this time but we didn't feel hurried by them at all. It may have been that we were a smaller party so there was only one person at a time bussing our table or just them being more aware of when it was appropriate to bus. Either way I was pleasantly surprised. Ryan did take the time to come to the table and introduce himself and thank us for coming in which was a nice touch as well. So good atmosphere, the menu is pretty simple a mix of main appetizers but with the same side on every plate. This maybe a covid type issue with their supply chain though. I had the ahi medium rare. Which was similar to a sear ahi you would get else where but came in cubes that were a spongey with the butter knife I was supplied with. Over all the taste was good and my wife loved the fired oysters and said they were they best in boise. Our waiter was great and addressed drinks and issues immediatly. It dosen't make my list of favorites but is definitly in the top 20. read more

Staff super friendly from the minute we walked in and our waitress was nice and did a good job when we saw her- she was busy and seeming to stop by as a courtesy not to check up on us. The ahi stack was tasty not a ton of flavor with the layered rice ( which was too over done and mushy for sushi rice) avocado and tuna. The sauce that decorated the plate added that nice bit of flavor - I wish there was more and a few more chips. Ask for the bread it is included and is amazing warm sourdough rounded loaf Yummy! For my main course I ordered the prawns. It came with a rice that had an interesting flavor & broccolini. The veg was perfect and as I said rice was different not necessarily my taste. The prawns were over done and pretty rubbery the garlic butter sauce they were cooked in was great. After dinner we got the huckleberry crem brûlée cheesecake and it was great! Nice and light , not too sweet with a paper thin layer of the brûlée and fresh huckleberry sauce. I put a copy of our receipt. We love fish and have been trying to make time for Anthony's for several years now. We finally decided we'd make a reservation for our anniversary. The restaurant was clean and the staff was polite. Not super friendly, but not rude. The food was ok. It wasn't bad at all, but it also wasn't amazing. When you combine the ok food with the ok staff and then add in the cost, it becomes not so good. Then you also have to take into consideration the ridiculously long time you have to wait for the now not so good food and ok staff and then the whole experience goes into the terrible category for a restaurant. We have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Anthony's! We have enjoyed Anthony's for many years at other northwest locations, so we were BEYOND excited to hear they were coming to Boise!! We were there the second night they opened, and as expected, our experience did not disappoint. The same fantastic food, above-and-beyond service, and first class ambiance we have come to expect from Anthony's. My husband had the cod and chips (delicious), and I ordered the chop chop salad (absolutely packed with seafood and fresh ingredients). And of course we HAD to have their famous clam chowder as well. I was looking forward to dinner at the Anthony's Boise location because it was my favorite seafood restaurant in Gig Harbor, WA. This is a newer location, and I must say they have room for growth to equal the quality of their other restaurants in the PNW. The food was tasty, although it felt a little skimpy on the turf part of my entree. The large Idaho baked potato, on the other hand, needed improvement. It was undercooked and too cool to begin to melt the cold butter. The menu seemed to differ quite a bit from what I'd been used to, but given the distance from the ocean I can accept somewhat less seafood variety. Overall, an enjoyable meal and evening. Took my wife to Anthonys tonight for a milestone birthday dinner with our two friends. We have never been here before. It was fantastic. The staff was cheerful and helpful. Very professional yet warm. The interior was nicely appointed and welcoming. The food is fantastic. I don't eat seafood but she loves it so I was glad there is a menu for her seafood and also beef steaks for me. She had fresh halibut and I had the top sirloin. She said it was some of the best halibut she has had in a long time and my steak was grilled to perfection. Our friend had also the clam chowder and he remarked it was the best he has had in ages. Lunch disappointment. Birthday celebration, 4 of us, three meals were a mess, one was good. Wife and I had shrimp and crab on toast, the TOAST was BURNED on both orders. I ordered a wedge blue cheese side salad, what I got was a chopped salad with very little blue cheese dressing. Birthday girl had the GLUTEN free burger with fry's, burger arrived without a bun? and NO fry's, said they had none? Burger was lettuce wrapped. That is NOT what the menu says. 4th meal was very good, seafood fettucine. The place was quite except for one other couple, it took forever for the meals to arrive. We will NOT go back for lunch. My mom and I came in for a 4pm dinner reservation after flying in this afternoon for a business convention. We had an absolutely delicious meal and exceptional service! We shared the scallops appetizer which was out of this world fantastic! The scallops were perfectly tender and the flavor was mind blowing. We both had a salad - Cesar salad & the blue cheese salad with shrimp - both were very large and crisp/fresh tasting. For entrees we shared the Double R Ranch Signature Ribeye (super flavorful and expertly cooked to a perfect medium rare) and Garlic Roasted Scampi Prawns. The only thing we weren't wild about was the pistachio rice pilaf side. Came for anniversary dinner to try something new. First off I was super irritated when the hostess said we couldn't sit where we wanted without asking permission in an empty restaurant.
