I would leave a 6 star review for Anthony Sena Leak Detection if 6 stars were available. Anthony Sena was second leak detection company I called about the leak in my swimming pool. The first company who I wont name here, charged $575 and was terrible. The person who showed up did a bare minimum of work using only a little dye syringe. I wont go into a lot of detail, but he didnt do much of anything other than use a small mirror and a dye syringe. He actually gave me a $2400 quote to open up my pool deck where he thought the leak might be, which later turned out to be the opposite end of the pool from where the leak actually was. I called Anthony, and despite being quite a distance he immediately gave me advice on how to perform a simple bucket test to determine if the water loss in my pool was definitely a leak and not just due to evaporation. After performing the bucket test to to determine it was definitely a leak, we agreed on a price to come down from his area in the San Fernando Valley, to my home in North Orange County. He made it clear he would have to charge extra because of the distance and I agreed as the extra amount wasn't unreasonable considering the amount of travel time between our locations. Anthony spent over 4 hours checking my pool. He did a visual inspection around the edges checking for any cracks, but then the real work began. He brought in several trays of different kinds of plugs and valves, and gauges to check the various piping systems. He explained that he would first pressure check the different piping systems, then if that didnt reveal the leak, he would go into the pool to check the lights and bottom drain for possible leaks, as well as look for other cracks in the pool itself. He disassembled the valves at the equipment area and inserted inflatable plugs that could be connected to a nitrogen tank and a pressure gauge. He inserted inflatable plugs in the jets (returns) and performed a pressure check on that entire system. He also pressure checked the Polaris pool cleaner line and the inlet fill line. Last, he thoroughly checked the skimmer unit and by using a small mirror on a long extension was able to find a crack where the skimmer connects to the line. He then did a pressure check on the skimmer line itself and verified that the crack was open to the surrounding soil. Anthony spent a lot of time explaining exactly what he was doing and why, and at the end we were both confident that he had found the leak. I now knew that my skimmer would need to be replaced instead of opening up the deck somewhere else looking for a leak that wasn't there. So, bottom line, the little bit of extra money I spent with Anthony was well worth it as I am completely confident he found the only leak. I would have liked to use Anthony to do the repair, but unfortunately the distance between our locations doesn't make that practical. But I highly recommend Anthony for his honesty, knowledge and professionalism. read more

Anthony is the absolute best. He was very responsive to our calls and scheduled us quickly. He was punctual and professional and best of all: found our leaks (yes more than one) very quickly. I carefully reviewed many leak detection reviews and decided on Anthony. The only bad reviews he had was based on people that never got a call back, not from his actual service. But noticed the stellar reviews of those who actually worked with him. With that in mind, I left him a voicemail and hoped he would call me back. He called me back in a couple days, made an appointment, and he found a big leak on the day of the appointment. The detection involved him testing all the equipment, scuba diving in my pool and a number of other things. He provided a very good quote. When he came back, he spent literally 9-10 hours straight on one day repairing the leak. He came back the next day and spent another few hours finishing the job. He worked under the glaring sun for 9 straight hours and i felt soooo bad that I insisted on buying him lunch and a handful of gatorades, which he was initially hesitant to accept. I was blown away by his knowledge and working so hard non-stop. I asked him why he didn't take breaks, and he said he's a one man team. Lots of voicemails piling up and he needed to work hard so he can have time to be able to service more customers as quickly as possible. Hence the earlier comment of pointing out his only low reviews were from people who never got a call back. When you are able to get him, consider yourself super lucky because he knows exactly what the problem is and how to fix it. He gave me a solid quote and said that's the max, and might be better once he digs into thr ground and sees the leaking pipes. He ended up giving me a $500 discount because the worst scenario wasn't found. He followed up with me after the job to make sure everything is okay. I have confidence that my next water bill will be much better because I met Anthony. Thank you for working so diligently and so hard for my pool. BTW, I had other issues around the house unrelated to my pool and he took the time to look at them and either fix it or recommend next steps of who to reach out to. Just amazing! He is passionate about what he does and will diagnose and treat your pool like it is his own. 3 weeks previously I contracted with another leak detection company who identified I had a leak in my skimmer, but advised they did not do repairs. The recommended A/B epoxy, but cautioned it may work for a couple weeks or could last a couple of years. Turns out their couple weeks estimate was pretty accurate and I contacted Anthony. Anthony provided a VERY competitive quote over the phone to replace my skimmer and advised he would verify there were no other leaks when he arrived. The quality of the work Anthony provided was the best I could imagine. He has most advanced equipment. In my case, he used several techniques. For example, he plugged the water pipes opening, then adding pressure and check whether it loses pressure. He also used detector to check where gas leaks most, etc. Being an engineer myself, I can see the whole process was state of art. It step by step to narrowed down where the leak was. He also did a diving test and checked the pool inch by inch. The whole process took him a day to finish. Eventually, he was able to precisely mark where the pipe leaked. Anthony is an incredible handyman - Very thorough, professional, and well priced. I highly recommend. But let me take you back six months ago... My husband has noticed that the pool water has been dropping at an alarming rate, so he called anthony to see if there's an issue. Anthony came as scheduled, chatted with my husband about his concerns, and then inspected our pool for cracks Aquaman-style in a scuba suit. Anthony found that the issue lied in our pool filter, which he showed me through a video he shot with his cell phone. He also told us help us with the problem today, which will hold up for a couple years, or fix the pool filter for a much prettier penny. Fast forward six months later, we called Anthony to fix the pool filter. This is where we found the bodies... I'm just kidding. This is where we found the root of the problem: when the first owner of the house made the pool, they cut corners and was just trying to get it done cheap and fast. Anthony pointed out that around the filter was pool plaster and dirt. The contractor is suppose to pour concrete around the filter. This cheap fix led to a pretty costly mistake.
