I hired them to install a security camera system consisting of an NVR and 7 wired cameras in 2023…read more Price was fine and installation was fine but when it comes time to set up the app on my phone the installer asked me to hand over the phone, I tried to follow what he was doing but he was installing apps, scanning device bar codes, assigning device names account user name passwords...all done very quickly and he asked me only for a password to use. It is an app called EZVIEW I later on went back to try and understand different settings and configuration but there is no manual to follow. But on the day of the installation all were working fine so I figured I will retrace the app settings and figure things out. The issue is post installation support. A year later the app stopped working unless I was on WIFI I was disconnected from the cameras. I texted the installer and asked for advice, he said the issue is with my mobile data. Mysteriously two weeks later the app worked again so they fixed whatever bug it was. Another month gone by suddenly one of the camera in color would have images in B/W only after raining hard, I thought those are IP64 or 65 devices, texted again and no reply. Finally one day my app freaked out and deleted all the devices and I need to set it up again. I texted him again for help and offered to pay for his time to set things up again and he said next week may be. Next week came and gone texted again says tomorrow may be. After that no more reply. Last year I need to upgrade phone and I wasn't able to migrate the EZView app to the new phone, it is no longer on Android playstore, I haven't been able to use this app on the new phone and so I have to carry two phone, the new phone for everything else, and the old phone to use EZView and only works on WIFI (since it has no SIM card). The NVR and cameras still work but if you need post installation support it doesn't exist.

Some issues came up with the TV service in buffering and the voice synch being off, but they have been resolved with a major software update that has been rock solid. We've had three times the system died and it took hours to come back, but it only takes an overeager backhoe operator moments to sever the main fiber optic cable. The best thing about this system is the amazing internet service. We are getting over 200 Mbps both up an down the majority of the time which makes loading websites fast and simple. Video conferencing like Zoom is a delight to work with, far better than what we had on Spectrum. As a heavy internet user, I am delighted at how strong this OpticalTel service is, no complaints. The two wireless mesh transmitters work well and they have eliminated all dead spots from the road out front to the back yard. There's a strong signal everywhere which is how it should be. Finally, I have to give customer support a vote of confidence for keeping things working. OpticalTel uses the Amino TV box for 100% wireless TV service. I have had two that failed, but if I call them today it highly likely that the technician will be here the next day to replace the box. It's not a critical issue as swapping the dead living room box for the one in the bedroom takes just a couple of minutes and we're good to go till the technician replaces the dead box. If you are interested in superb internet service and very good TV service, you can't beat OpticalTel's bulk rate of $55 a month. It comes with two wireless transmitters, the fiber optic box outside, and two TV boxes with a boatload of channels and 250 hours of DVR HD recordings.

I scheduled an appointment, and the next day they arrived right on time (they gave me a heads up that they were on their way, just in case I wasn't home yet). When they got here, they were, again, polite and very professional. They brought their own mount, extension cords, tools, etc. and worked at a fast pace. Whats more, they also offered to pass the cable through the back of the wall for no charge (other places charge for that). When they finished, the TV and shelf mount looked perfect.
