"I've had better." That about sums it up. Another Broken Egg Cafe wasn't the worst restaurant, by any stretch. But it wasn't anything overly impressive either. I was very excited to try the french toast because it has gotten rave reviews. But unfortunately, they were out and I settled for a coffee-infused stack of pancakes suggested by my waiter. I took a bite and shrugged as a "meh" escaped my throat. It was decent, but did not make me regret missing out on the much-ballyhooed french toast. The eggs and bacon too were decidedly non-memorable. My waiter was nice enough. The locals of the restaurant was pretty tolerable. Parking was a disaster but that's not the restaurant's fault I suppose. Anyway, I wouldn't be against giving Another Broken Egg another shot, especially if it's to sample the french toast I keep hearing so much about. But I won't go out of my way to do it. The nearby Keke's will do just fine. read more

( building that formerly housed Truffles restaurant) I had an amazing southwestern omelet ( chorizo, yay!) with sliced tomatoes...delish!! They have killer Bloody Mary's, fresh squeezed juice. Lots of healthy options...cannot wait to return to try some pancakes and a mimosa! If they are busy you can ask to sit outside on the patio and that will probably reduce wait time during peak hours. read more

Another errand day starts with a new breakfast stop. Wifey looked this place up while we were in the winter park area early for some appointments. Being in Winter Park of course it's a lil over priced. Some cool drink options for the morning lushes but we jus started with the typical coffee and water. I had the Monterey which is an egg white omelette with cheese, chicken, onion, tomato, topped with avacado and some kind of spicey sauce. It also came with a side of sour cream, bowl of fresh fruit and a English muffin. Service was good we sat right away. The meal came out fast, was cooked well and tasted good. Trying to get breakfast on a Saturday morning in Winter Park without a long wait is hard. Although my party of three still had a little bit of a wait (maybe 20 minutes?), it was nowhere near as long as other spots around town (cough-Keke's-hour-long-wait-cough), and definitely worth it. We decided to give Broken Egg Cafe a shot after an early exercise class in the area, so we showed up sweaty and in our workout gear. And starving! While the lushes- I mean ladies I was dining with were ordering Bloody Marys, I stuck with coffee, which was served in the cutest mug. I wanted to take it home! I did have a taste of the Bloody Mary, and though it's not something I would normally order, it was tasty, with a sharp bite that hits the back of your throat. Perfect for brunch! I enjoyed my Black Bean Benedict, though it was a little dry, due to the black bean patties sitting on the english muffin with no saucy barrier... it felt a little like something was missing. The eggs were cooked nicely, with the chipotle hollandaise giving it a nice kick. If I were to order it again, I would request an extra side of the sauce, and maybe deconstruct it a little to add more sauce to the drier parts. The side of breakfast potatoes were good, but nothing really out of the ordinary. One friend ordered the Huevos Rancheros, which, in my opinion, was the winning choice. Since my friends know I always eat off their plates, she made sure to leave a couple bites for me. The tortillas were nice and crisp, the flavors blended deliciously. The other friend ordered the Santa Fe Burger, as she is a lover of all things jalapeno. Her side of tasty grits was sampled by yours truly, but I refrained from the burger, even though it did look good. This spot has a nice sized dining room, along with a big patio. I am looking forward to some brunches on that patio in the fall, when the weather cools down, although I did see some fans and quite a few parties taking advantage on this visit. I also foresee partaking in their beverage menu next time, as they have quite a few options. I mean, I feel it is my job to report back on their mimosas and bellinis. So stay tuned! read more

I've been here several times and every time I go I am super impressed by the quality and taste of the food. There are a bunch of good breakfast spots to choose from nowadays but this place stands out (even though it is sort of a chain). I ordered the lobster omelet and although it took about 30 minutes to come out, it was delicious. Stuffed with lobster both inside and on top, three slices of melted brie cheese, and sliced avocado on top. It tasted even better than it sounds. The home fries on the side were crunchy but still tender on the inside. Almost as if they were air fried. The portions here are not huge but the food is delicious and always fresh. read more

Alright, the suspense finally got to me. I am back at the Broken Egg Cafe to find out what my mystery gift is that I received on my very first visit.....drum roll.......FREE bottomless coffee, YAY!!!! Guess I'll be having an extra cup today....look out world,haha. So, the real reason I am back is to try one of the crawfish dishes and of course for their amazing grits. The choice was between the Louisiana Crawfish Skillet or the Mardi Gras Omelette. After muuuuucchhh back and forth, I opted for the omelette. Inside this fluffy egg enclosure was a taste bud tantalizing assortment of crawfish, shrimp, andouille sausage, tomatoes and chives all topped with a tomato hollandaise sauce. And let's not forget the cheesy grits!!!!! Oh, and there was an English muffin somewhere on the side..haha. Somehow I managed to devour this behemoth as I wanted to savor every single bite. The omelette itself was delicious but the hollandaise was the star of this dish for me (and you already know how I feel about their grits). If someone were to ask me for my recommendation of a restaurant that has something "new and exciting" for breakfast, The Broken Egg would be the first place to roll off my tongue. This was our first time here. It was great- we had a very pleasant experience and the service was excellent. However, the food didn't meet our expectations. Since this is in Winter Park, we expected it to be more grand, however the taste was pretty basic. The chicken on the chicken and waffles were plain. I asked for the sauce on the side so I could see how the chicken was without it and it had no flavor. It definitely needed the sauce to beef it up. The pancakes, bacon, and eggs were pretty standard. The stuffed French toast was a little soggy (I get that it's supposed to be towards the jam, but the corners were also soggy, which was disappointing since we were expecting a more fluffy texture). This place feels a lot like a first watch to me. The menu is set up almost the exact same. I had the cinnamon roll French toast which was rather dry. It had your basic cinnamon drizzle but I feel it could've had more. They garnished it with fresh berries which were quite refreshing, coupled with the whipped cream. The service was good and the atmosphere was not too loud. Overall a good experience and the waiter was also very knowledgeable about the menu which always makes dining a bit more easy. read more

Went to broken eggs for the first time on winter gardens first off when I walked in the stuff was not welcoming at all. It was very crowded and uncomfortable with all the stuff surround the front door talking and laughing Instead of serving. My waiter did not ask me or tell me the different beverages they serve. Plus he was rushing me to order. I order biscuits and gravy it tasted horrible and my biscuit was hard at the bottom. Than I order shrimp and grits you should called it shrimp and cheese it was so over power with cheese it was barely no grits in my plate. Everything we have tried so far is great off the menu, although after being spoiled, the blueberry grits are probably my least favorite! I really like Another Broken Egg Cafe. My husband really likes the Bloody Marys. We went there recently and only had a 5 minute wait. I think 9:30 am to arrive on a Saturday is the magic time because it's not yet crowded. I ordered the biscuits and gravy which is my litmus test of a good breakfast place. It did not disappoint. I upgraded to the "City Grits" which I wish is something you could order on it's own. It was everything I like to eat all in one bite. Going to try to copy it and make it at home. I checked out other diner's food and everyone looked happy. I'm deducting one star because their coffee really sucked. I mean horrible. I asked for another cup and it was still bad. Came here on Sunday for brunch for the 1st time I was promptly greeted and told the wait would be 15 mins. We where alerted about 30 mins later and seated at a table for 2, I was amazed that they had a full bar but was disappointed when the waitress informed me that they didn't sever beer. I ordered the bananas foster pancakes that come with a side of eggs and choice of sausage or bacon. I ordered the turkey sausage with scrambled eggs, my pancakes came out with out my sides but thought they would follow shortly after. After waiting about 15 minutes I was able to flag my waitress down to inform her of the error. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Typically, I'm not a huge breakfast person, as I prefer to eat later in the day, but everything on this menu is to die for. There was a pretty long wait time when my guest and I arrived but we were able to self seat in their bar space almost immediately. We ordered the lobster Brie and the lobster eggs Benedict as our entrees, they were to die for. I'm really fond of trying new restaurants, I try at least two new ones each week and this had to have been the best flavor, service, and atmosphere I have been in, in over 3 years. This place is a great brunch that reminds me in some ways of First Watch, but without the massive crowds. Also, their food sways more southern, including delicious beignets (see picture). That said, service was horrendous. Charles M. was our waiter. Waited 10 minutes for someone to come to our table but no one did. I had to ask hostess for manager to get a waiter. Said he'd be right with us to manager but it was another 3-5 minutes before he got there. Took order and brought drinks. Didn't see him again until we were 95% done with breakfast. Asked for check. Had to wait another lengthy time to actually pay. I observed other wait staff interacting with their customers and I saw Charles immediately address the table behind us when they sat down. Seasonal menu comes through as usual. We love this location. We had breakfast on Sunday and our server Baracus really made an enjoyable meal spectacular and memorable! My husband said he felt as though he was having a 5 star dining experience! My 17 year old said it's a meal she's going to remember because Baracus made the meal, really we all left feeling special. My husband and I have been here on several occasions And never have we experienced anything like what we did today. Our server Bracus was absolutely amazing in every way possible . I mean so much so I'm writing this review. He was so warm , personal and kind. He took the time to ask our names , recommended food and even got yogurt and fruit for the baby. Honestly I will never go back there unless he is our server from now on . (No offense to the other staff) he even gave us hand sanitizer and gum when we were finished eating I'm telling you the food was good but the service was AMAZING!
