The restaurant itself is clean and cozy, and offers a dining room as well as a covered outdoor patio. It may be a chain restaurant, but the food is delicious and definitely unique. They have your classic breakfast staples (eggs, pancakes, Benedict, omelettes, etc.) but also offer many with a "New Orleans twist" if you're feeling more adventurous (ex. creole spices, crab cake Benedict, omlettes with crawfish and sausage, etc.). We have visited a few times and they always have great service and helpful employees. They also have an entirely gluten free menu option that they can provide for anyone who is gf. A group of 4 of us stopped in Sunday around 10:30am (hoping to beat the crowd) - boy were we wrong! The wait was around 45 minutes. No huge issue for our group though, we chatted and waited outside since it was a lovely day. When I walked inside, I immediately was confused on how tables were laid out. Tables seemed to be smooshed together leaving lots of walking room on either side. The seating area was also smaller than I expected. We were seated in a booth... which was NOT roomy. The four of us SQUEEZED in the booth with not much breathing room. We made it work though because we were hungry! Our waitress was wonderful. She was attentive, friendly, helpful, and patient. She came by multiple times to check on us. It was our first time visiting Another Broken Egg - and she informed us that every first timer gets an order of beignets. Great! Because we were eyeing those from the minute we sat down. The menu. Wow. Lots of options to choose from here. Sweet and savory and everything in between. It's a Louisiana inspired menu - so lots of crab, lobster, shrimp n grits, beignets (you get the point) options to choose from. I decided to go with something savory - 'The Floridian Omelette'. Despite being a chain, this is one of this those places that I have yet to be disappointed in. Old reliable for sure.....even though that I've tried new things every visit. The Winter Park location is generally busy, but I've still not ever had to wait a significant amount off time. This time....Sunrise Spinach Scrambler.....this consists of spinach, jack cheese, bacon, onion wrapped up in scrambled eggs....what's clear is that the chefs that create these dishes are thinking about flavor and how they worked together......this dish works fantastically! Those flavors Indy visual.....Ok, sounds good; together......excellent! The dish had a side of home fries (tasty and cooked well) and an English muffin. Service at this place has generally been friendly.....this visit was no exception. My wife had the French toast and my son had the chicken and waffles, they both enjoyed their meals as well. A big swing and a miss today. It's been years since I was here, but all previous visits were stellar. This visit could get zero stars if that were possible. First, our server seemed as if there was a fire elsewhere and needed to be anywhere else but near our table. It was not busy at all so we couldn't figure that out. The food was so subpar I was astonished it was even brought to the table. The plating was a mess or looked like a middle school lunch line entree slapped on a plate. No garnish. Nothing to make it look appealing Soup was ice cold and five spoonfuls in the cup at best. Chicken salad Sandwich was only a half (what?) and unappealing. The Salmon Eggs Benedict was served on a cold bagel which never saw a toaster or even a microwave. i was told the salmon would be cold, but not warned that the whole dish would be so. Grits were alright, but cheese grits only meant some unmelted shredded cheese would be tossed on top. The grits themselves were piping hot though. The only thing that was! It's really a shame this was so bad from start to finish. I used to love coming here when I lived in Winter Park. So I picked out Another Broken Egg and I'm so glad I did We started off with the beignets, they were so good they were probably gone in two minutes between the two of us. No kidding. I had the chicken and waffles the first time I came here and they were great. The portions were large enough that I did not finish. My mom had an omelet that had crab or lobster in it? One of the two I cant remember but it was a seasonal omelet, her husband had just pancakes and he was happy with them as well. The food was great, coffee was better than most breakfast places. I love that you can add syrups into their coffees as well. But one thing I've learned is this place is always packed on the weekends, there's always a wait, so if you can set yourself up with a reservation. Been here a few times before so it's about time to write a review! I came here with my sister and mother for breakfast a couple days ago. Luckily, this place had their seasonal menu available along with their regular one. The server we had was attentive and very polite, quick to acknowledge us, serve us, and had our check ready and waiting in his pocket when we were done eating. I ordered the brunch short rib that came with grits. Yum! Beef was soft and was topped with an over medium egg with this reddish sauce that made the dish seem almost like a dinner too. Mom got the mahi Benedict with potatoes - a little dry for my taste and a little fishy, but still good! I think the poached eggs balanced it out. Little sis got the Godiva chocolate chip pancakes with scrambled eggs and house made sausage patties. The pancakes came with a little shot to pour over on top, I didn't realize it may have had a little alcohol in it till I tasted it lol but it did a good job with satisfying our sweet craving. And the selection that everybody chose was great for everybody to try and taste different things and I can honestly tell you I would've eaten anything I tried!!!!!? Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. They didn't do reservations but there was an option to join a waitlist online. Once I arrived, I checked in with the host and they told me it would be about another 30 mins wait before could get seated. We walked over to a nearby Starbucks to grab some coffee while waiting. Within 10 minutes they said our table was ready and would hold it for 3 minutes. We rushed back and was seated. The food was very subpar unfortunately. What we ordered- Southwest omelette with potatoes - my sister in law ate this. She said it was average. Nothing special or spectacular. Vegetarian omelette Shrimp and grits - shrimp came uncooked French toast - bland and soft Chilequiles - food was cold and bland The server was nice and friendly. Fabulous! We had seen this restaurant a few times, while visiting our favorite store next door REI, but never had the chance to try it until today. What a delicious delight! The server (Tony) was very friendly and accommodating; coffee and food came in a timely manner; A1 cleanliness; but the food was excellent in all aspects. My omelette (lobster and Brie) was so delicious and out of the ordinary. We live by the beach and wish we had a restaurant that would offer seafood breakfast like this with such quality. My wife had the Mardi Gras omelette and she said it was outstanding. My daughter had the Bacqueso omelette and she also was extremely satisfied with it. Not a bad breakfast here, just not my favorite. We both got omelettes, I got the Bacquezo because I'll go for anything with cream cheese and bacon. It was pretty good, just felt like it was missing something. It came with potatoes and English muffin. It was a ton of food. I also ordered an Abe Famous Infused Bloody Mary. The server said the one I got is the best Bloody Mary she's ever had, so I had high expectations. But it was not my favorite. I did like the bacon however :) My husband got the breakfast old fashioned that also came with bacon and a tiny pancake on the side. He said next time he could have just ordered a couple eggs with it and then he'd have a full breakfast. Haha! The service was good and we did not have any issues. I can see why this place have great reviews! The atmosphere is great and the service was really good. Eating outside is very relaxed and definitely recommend if you want more space away from people (COVID). I ordered the cinnamon French toast. Now I am both a sweet and savory breakfast eater, but today my sweet tooth was having its cravings... so I ordered the French toast. It was amazing! The flavor on the toast was definitely cinnamon roll and they had put the glaze and both syrup on top, with some sugar free whipped cream which is an amazing pair with the toast. I say this because as good as it was, it was VERY sweet I could only eat one toast and a half. Eating it with the whipped cream definitely frowns out a bit of the sweetness but it was still a little much. Now this doesn't mean that it's a bad dish because it was far from that but anyone who likes sweet but also has a limit most likely shouldn't order this as you will have quite a bit left over. Onto the Chorizo Omelette... To start off I'll say, I love omelettes, they give you so much room to be creative with fillings. The thought of a chorizo omelette made my mouth water so i had order it as well. Unfortunately it wasn't a hit for me, the meat wasn't flavorful and it just reminded me of the fridge packet of jimmy dean eggs and sausage (which is good for the record, just nothing special). So if you're more of a basic eater then I'd definitely say go for it, because it's not horrible. read more

Awesome gluten free options! I'll start with saying that I love this restaurant. I've been here multiple times and had great experiences each time. They offer fancy gf pancakes, lots of specialty omelets and several entrees, a couple different sandwiches and salads. On my last visit, I enjoyed The Floridian omelet with grits and gf toast. The omelet was heavy but delicious, made with cream cheese, butter and crab meat. Mimosas and Blood Mary's are offered along with some other spirited drinks. There is usually a bit of a wait to be seated but yelp does offer a way to get in line before you arrive to reduce the wait time. The service has been good each visit. It's a cozy and comfortable Café, it does get pretty busy so make sure you hop on the waitlist during your drive and then checkin when you get here. Our waiter Taylor was outstanding. We loved the energy they brought to make our experience great, perfect balance of giving us enough time to pick our food and checking on us in between once we got it. Don't get me wrong, I understand the business move. Gotta make the experience as good as possible for the dine-in customers, especially as the pandemic pipeline is bursting at the seams with people wanting to get out of their house. So they offered, and I accepted. I had a Mother's Day picnic to get to, and they had my order ready promptly. My main dish was Chicken & Waffles (Crispy fried chicken tenders on a Belgian waffle, drizzled with house-made chipotle honey). I never thought chicken & waffles would be the cheapest, simplest thing on the menu anywhere, but alas, here, it was. Tenders of varying sizes, a nicely cooked waffle, and a delicious, mildly spicy chipotle honey. I got what I ordered and I was satisfied. I will offer you this piece of advice: order extra chipotle honey. This stuff was amazing and I wish I had a bottle of it at home. I was also able to get my hands on the Lobster & Brie Omelette (Cream cheese-filled omelette topped with Brie and champagne butter sauce sautéed lobster meat, tomatoes and green onions. Served with an English muffin and grits or fresh country potatoes). This was the far superior dish of the two. This dish is pure decadence with richness and creaminess that stems from the cream cheese, the brie, the butter sauce, AND the lobster. The only relief is the acidity of the tomatoes. And I say all of that with great positivity. I loved it. Get the potatoes as a side, so you can kind of make them all saucy with the runoff from the omelette. The cafe really knows how to keep you coming back with their Seasonal Offerings! Definitely worth checking out for breakfast when you have a chance. I really wish I wasn't in the mood for savory food, as their sweet dishes sounded really good (looking at you Banana Bread French Toast!). There is so much I can say about this restaurant. But first I must say I'm a retired executive Chef with 40 years of experience. The waitress gave us a crazy look when she came over to our table like she had a problem with interracial relationships so we ordered and we never saw her again till I had to go and ask for the bill. Also my French toast at that point was just cold and soggy. Also I ordered a side of sweet ham and it legit was a single slice of thin deli meat that look like it came pack of of sandwich meat....... Second time here, I'm as impressed as I was the first time. The wait was out the door, but well worth it! My party waited about an hour, but the wait wasn't too bad. We got service quickly from the bar. We got our drinks and sat in the enclosed patio area to wait. I got the Lobster and Brie Omelet. This was by far the best omelet I've ever had! The potatoes that came with the meal were nice too. My friends enjoyed the Crab Cake Benedict. The Lobster and Brie Omelet was creamy and flavorful. The portions of Lobster were a good size for the price. My meal was worth every penny, and was priced fairly.
