This was my first time at this location and it was my husband's first time ever trying their food. After early voting, we decided to eat breakfast. Jesus was our waiter and he did a great job refilling our coffee and making sure we were enjoying our meal. I wanted to try something new so I decided to get the Shrimp and Grits. I love shrimp and when I read the description, I knew I had to try it. When my dish arrived, I was very disappointed but I didn't complain I just ate my food. They no longer use gulf shrimp, my shrimp were very small but this could be a supply and demand issue. My dish was ok but the grits had no flavor. I think the grits should have had butter and salt. You definitely need to dip your grits in the sauce. I won't be getting that dish again. Before our meal arrived, we ate the beignets. They were delicious. My husband ordered Bananas Foster Pancakes with eggs and bacon. I added the homemade sausage and andouille sausage so my husband could finally taste what I have been raving about for the past year. He loved his pancakes and eggs but wasn't crazy about the sausage. I tried a few bites of his sausage and it had a strong sage taste. The location in Houston has the opposite taste and I couldn't get enough of the sausage. I don't know why it's so different at this location. I LOVE The Broken Egg. My kids grew up eating at the original in Mandeville. But this location has been closed twice when I've tried to visit. This time I even had reservations but they were closed when we arrived. Later I got a text that stated my reservation had expired. Really??? This is a fantastic place for brunch!!!! However I'm not going to give it 5 stars because of the little hiccup we had. We arrived around 11:08 and were told it was going to be a 20 minute wait since we didn't join their waiting list on yelp! Which we weren't aware of. No big deal. We sat in the car and waited.......and waited......and watched 3 groups get sad before us.....my boyfriend decided to get down and ask what was going on. The explanation we received was that 'somehow' our name got deleted from the waiting list. I have eaten here several times before and I love the food and service. I tried to eat here Sunday after church, put myself on the waitlist at 10:22, it was supposed to be 45 minutes to an hour and fifteen minutes for our table, understandable as Sunday mornings are very busy for breakfast restaurants. I checked in with the host stand at 10:33 and was informed that we were 12th in line and it would be an hour. Ok, no problem. I'm a tad optimistic, so I checked in with them at 11:15 to see how much longer we might have to wait. I had just used the restroom and noticed that there were a ton of open tables. The hostess now tells us that we are 11th in line and it will still be an hour. I ask why. She informs me that the kitchen is running behind so they are seating people slower than normal. I then said, "So you actually have no idea who long the wait is then?" She confirmed that was an accurate statement. She should have told me that when I checked in at the host stand so we could make other arrangements instead of waiting 45 minutes to be told that they have no idea how long the wait is. I understand that the situation was out of the hostesses control, but how she chose to handle it was entirely in her control. This demonstrated a complete lack of respect for my time. When businesses don't respect the time of their customers, that's when they lose people. We chose to leave and go somewhere we could sit much sooner. Then at 11:34 I received a text that our table was ready. You all cannot possibly be surprised that after I was quoted an hour wait, waited 45 minutes, was told one more hour, I then left. But to have a wait go from one hour to 20 minutes is ridiculous. read more

Their mimosa options are unique and I love the lemon blueberry mimosa. The lemon vodka gives it some punch. The strawberry st. Germain mimosa is also so good and both come by the pitcher. My favorite omelette is hands down the Mario Gras omelette. The andouille, crawfish and shrimp are the heavy hitters and the tomato and green onion lace it all together. Another Broken has been my favorite breakfast place for years. Today's visit was AMAZING. Our server Brucus was fantastic!!! He turned our simple lunch plans into a breakfast date. He recommend the lobster and sausage grits, they were delicious. For desert he brought us out cinnamon rolls with cream cheese, fruit, and syrup, and two glasses of milk in wine glasses. Brucus finished the experience with a single red rose and gave me tree yellow roses. Brucus was an amazing spirt, he is full of life and genuinely cares about his guest. You can tell he has so much love in his heart. He goes above and beyond. This cafe has a great menu. The venue is classy, the food is excellent, and the venue is cozy and comfortable. I have eaten here a number of times, but today was the first time being served by Bracus. This server was extremely likable with a bright and charismatic personality. His customer service skills were top notch. Bracus goes above and beyond the expectation, with excellent drink and plate service, while providing a cell phone charger, presenting my date with a rose, and after the meal...hand sanitizer and gum! I went with the smokey sriracha and she went classic. Both were tasty, but I wish mine had a little more smoke and spice. It tasted like a regular bloody mary with a little extra spice. But I did like the garnish they put in there! Lots of color and character. The menu is overwhelming but if you can't find something that you like on there, then you're not looking hard enough! I opted for the cinnamon roll french toast that comes with 2 eggs and a meat option. I went with over medium and turkey sausage. I also opted for the toppings on the french toast to be on the side. I'm really glad I did that because I think it would have been overwhelming if I had 2 sauces, fruit and whipped cream on top. I went with just the cream cheese sauce and it was amazing! In seconds I had a ramekin to pour my syrup in. Devin asked me if he heard me say something about dipping and yes, he did. He was right, again. I love this man. As we're eating out delicious meals, I dropped my napkin. I didn't say anything but I was thinking "man I need another one" I'm at the bar so Devin didn't see if fall out of my lap but I'm sure if he did, he would have gotten me another one. Instead, a server name Chad asked me if I needed another one. Yes Chad, yessss. Oh my gosh you're not even our server and you took care of us. You're amazing Chad. Thank you!!!!! And though I'm completely glowing about Devin who at this point is the most amazing person in the world to me at this boozy brunch, I want to shout out Dustin. Dustin is a manager in training and honestly, I fully intend to visit any Another Broken Egg he is managing. Her personality is amazing. And I think that whichever team he gets to lead is lucky to have someone like him. I've only known him an hour and I wish he was training other managers on how to relate and converse with their customers because he's top of the line. I could tell you guys so many other things about this place, but the most important thing to convey in this review is how much I appreciate them. Anyway, I thought the booth we sat in smelled a bit like wet dog and the table and menus were a bit sticky. Brunch places/anywhere that sells pancakes needs to be extra mindful of wiping everything down after each party. I ordered crab cake benedict, which was very well sized, had decent crab flavor, but didn't resemble a crab cake. It wasn't so much of a crab "cake" as it was shredded crab. The potatoes were very plain and there weren't too many of them on the side, but I used them to mop up the hollandaise sauce, which was delicious. The coffee is unlimited, but not so spectacular that you'll want any more than 2 cups.
