We came here for breakfast and waited over an hour for our food. We never got checked up on during that time frame. When our food came out, it was cold and somewhat warm. We did get a free potatoes to compensate for this. I then found hair in my chicken and waffles. We asked for a manager and the manager was rude and short with us. "Broken" may just be the right word to describe my experience and should have been my first clue. This was my second time there, 11:00 on a Tuesday and the restaurant was mostly empty and that should have been my second clue. They had lots of wait staff around. We were a table of 3.I ordered the traditional day starter ($12.79 on the online menu) with my eggs poached, the default English muffin, the chicken sausage, and a fruit cup and black coffee. I received 2 overcooked eggs (hard yolks), 1-3/4 of plain and torn white toast (nor sure where the missing quarter of the slice went?) that was still completely pale and "toasted" to the point of "merely stale" , a meager fruit cup and 2 chicken sausages. Our server never came back to check on us. I finally waived down another server and explained my dilemma and her remedy was to get my server. When our server returned, she explained that they ran out of English Muffins and that she could to have my eggs remade. Since it was growing late, I declined and told her I would eat just the chicken sausage and the fruit.When I received my check, I was charged for a side of fruit and a side of sausage - to the tune of $10.98 - almost the price of the full meal. Furthermore, I've since learned that the "side" of sausage is 3 sausages; not 2; so there's that. Finally, I was annoyed that the check had a service charge plus tip advice w/ the calculations for an 18% tip, and 20% tip and a 22% tip. Since when is a 22% tip the norm? What happened to 15%? This location in Streetsboro, OH just opened today. My parents and I have been waiting for it to open and try it. We walked in and the decor was beautiful. They had added little things to personalize it to this particular location with Streetsboro written on the wall and a picture of the museum that is located near Walmart as well. It has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The people who greeted us and sat us were very friendly and welcoming. Our server was friendly, welcoming, and informative. She was attentive and upbeat also. The menu was a one page front and back type of deal, but everything on it sounded good. It was hard to pick, but I ended up getting the bacquezo omelet. It had a cream cheese filling, with bacon cooked into the egg, and topped with chorizo followed by cheese. It was great! I was uncertain whether or not I would like cream cheese as a filling, but it works. My mom loves spinach , so she had the spinach scramble. She said it was great and full of spinach. She also like how the potatoes were cooked. My dad had the lemon goat cheese pancakes with over easy eggs and bacon. The bacon was so crispy I could hear the crunch. The pancakes looked really fluffy and he said they were. He enjoyed them a great deal. All of us can't wait to go back and try a lot of the other items! They all sound and look good! read more

Man. I was so excited to try this restaurant. Their menu and ingredients look great. Unfortunately the reality was quite different. The wait staff and Hostess were wonderful and I have no complaints there. I got the crab cake eggs benedict and overall it was good. It's a lot of food and the ingredients seem well chosen. The English muffin was unfortunately grilled on the inside instead of toasted so it had more of a raw bread taste than something of structure to base the dish on. My daughter got the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes which again sounded amazing. The first order came undercooked and quite doughy in the middle. The pancakes were really stodgy. The lemon zest was applied unevenly so some mouthfuls you'd get none in other mouthfuls it would be overpowering. She sent them back as they simply weren't cooked and they very kindly offered her some fresh fruit while she was waiting. The second round of the pancakes came and though these were cooked they were just so deeply stodgy they were completely unappetizing. The prices are quite steep, but if the food lived up to expectations it would be worth it. It was $50 including the tip for breakfast for two and I only had water to drink. My daughter got the maple cold coffee and she said it was good but painfully sweet. We were seated in a booth next to the kitchen entrance which would not have been a problem at all except they had a fruit fly problem and we were constantly waving them away from our food. We pointed them out to the waitress when we noticed there were 18 on the walls directly by our booth. These are not little tiny fruit flies, but big beefy ones. The best part of my visit here was the very genuine apology I received from the manager. They'd been open for a few weeks when my wife and I stopped in. Very busy, which I took as potentially good or bad. Saw the manager apologizing to someone, and got a little nervous while waiting, but figured "well, I'm glad he's owning whatever issue happened." When I sat down, my first thought was that they needed to remove a few tables. Everything is packed uncomfortably close in there. It's clean, but dense. Our server was fine. Not super memorable, but nice enough. Our meals took forever. We were told it was an issue with the system, and maybe it was. I wouldn't be surprised if human error had played a role. Either way, obscenely long wait for our meals. My crab cake benedict was fine. My wife's waffle was fine. Then I found the a hair in my side of fruit that I already didn't care for owing to the very hard strawberries. Then the manager paid us a visit and issued us a very sincere apology and comped my meal. Overall: this would have been an angry review were it not for how the manager handled things. Because of that, this is an "I'm not mad, just disappointed" review. We went this morning to another broken egg café. It wasn't too crowded. However, we waited 45 minutes for our breakfast when it did come, my eggs were cold. The bagels were stale. All in all it wasn't very good. The potatoes were cold and spongy. We told our waiter Aiden, who was superb, he called the manager over manager talk to us apologized didn't adjust the bill and said he would try to correct the problems. However, I would not go back for a while in order to see if they do correct the problem but for now not a recommendation. read more

The food is very good. It is not your average breakfast or lunch kind of place. They have a brunch and breakfast menu. They offer items from the almost standard breakfast to some very unique/exotic items as well. I was intrigued by one omelette that had crawfish, shrimp, and andouille sausage along with peppers, onions,etc. I passed on that one....too early in the day for that mix. Today, Another Broken Egg cafe opened in Streetsboro Ohio, so we got there 10 minutes early, and waited for them to open. We were very happy with everything here. The decor is very nice, and on a Streetsboro theme. The food was outstanding, and an excellent variety. I had the Goat Cheese and blueberry pancakes with bacon and eggs. The blueberries were huge, and I loved this goat cheese topped pancakes. As a price comparison, the final price out the door was pretty much the same as we would spend at Bob Evans, but this is a much more upscale place in the quality of food, and the presentation of the food. Our waitress, Emilee G. was very friendly, and quite informative. Every one of the staff we smiling, inviting, and very welcoming. The wife and daughter's boyfriend got the eggs Benedict and I got an omelette. This with 4 coffees. This cost a total of $82.30. With tip this was just shy of $100.00. First time here and a lot happened. First-we were seated in a section right across from the kitchen doors. Second- our waitress had very strong options about her work environment. We ordered two drinks and our food came out before the drinks did. Our waitress then proceeded to talk crap about how we got our food first and was walking by talking under her breath. She was very frustrated. Ordered drinks at 1:22 did not come out til 2 pm after the food. Our waitress just did not seem happy and the experience was bad. The food also bad. I decided to get a biscuit it was cold same with the potatoes. I don't think I will be retuning back. Had great experiences with this chain in the south while on vacation but they have some work to do here. The service was good, only complaint was the waitress told me wrong when I asked - there are in fact tomatoes on the city grits, in case you were wondering. The waffle was ok, scrambled eggs were overcooked and dry, ham was too tough to cut with a butter knife so I didn't eat it. And yeah it's a bit pricey to be mediocre. I may try again and order an indulgence but would rather support local, much better food at Over East in Kent for about the same price. read more

Today was my third or fourth time and I don't think I will go back. They seem to be overwhelmed every time I go there. I was alone so I sat at the bar. It was busy of course because it's a Saturday but I sat there for a good 10 minutes (no exaggeration) as the girl behind the bar made a pointed effort not to make eye contact or look in my direction. A lady finally asked for my drink order (coffee) and then disappeared. Never got my coffee from her and that was a good 7-10 more minutes. The very least they should do is give you a water or coffee and let them know you will be back. Somebody finally took my order and that was another wait. In the meantime the bar was filling up with more and more people, waiting. There was a couple at the end of the bar when I sat down and they didn't get their food until I was halfway through my meal. The girl behind the bar thanked me for my patience and said a few people called out today which is the same story I got last time I was there and waited a long time. The meal itself was average at best. The bacon they brag about was either completely overcooked at the ends but then rubbery in the middle. Very disappointing. read more

Having been to and having had a great experience at a different ABE restaurant in Ann Arbor, MI, we were excited to see that there was a location across from our hotel, so we knew where to get breakfast this morning. It being a Sunday we figured it would be crowded and it didn't disappoint. We waited 45 min for a table. Once seated our server (who was good) came over and took our order.. THEN.. IT.. TOOK.. FOR-EVER.. to get our food. Like seriously it was another 40 minutes.. The food arrived and it was a B team effort back in the kitchen. I ordered creole benedict and it looked ok but upon eating it was different story. My poached eggs had become solid and the creole sauce was basically dirty looking water and everything about the entree was incredibly bland. It was served on grit cakes which were over done and kinda bland as well. We had breakfast here because it was close to our hotel and had gluten free options. I should have been a little worried about how empty it was at 11am. The restaurant is new, and well designed, it looks so promising for future potential! The food was pretty terrible though. The menu sounds great, but something's not right in the kitchen whether it's the recipes or the preparation I'm not sure. The eggs were way overcooked and tasted like the oil they were cooked in was going rancid. The pancakes also had an off taste, not sure if it's the recipe or maybe also the oil. The house sausage has too much going on, it wasn't a good combo of flavors and seasoning. No one in our party liked the coffee. The service was excellent, our server was very attentive even though she seemed to be the only server with all the tables. She was very nice and helpful, and so efficient, keep her on for sure! First--the ambiance. Pretty depressing interior--nothing to lift one's spirit as the day begins. Dark colors, uninspiring. The two of us were offered a table/booth that appeared to be on the main drag to the rest rooms. The alternative was not much of an improvement. We were seated next to the emergency exit which was largely blocked by an unattractive jumble of high chairs. Not safe and not attractive. The booths along the far wall looked to be an afterthought as a good part of the wall was occupied by doors into the kitchen. I would ask for a table if there is a nest time. The service was good as was the food. Fresh fruit was fresh with no taste of preservatives or odd flavors as is often the case with restaurant fruit. I was hoping for a Monte Cristo sandwich but not on the menu. The chicken sandwich was good quality chicken well prepared. Coffee was good, too.
