Been a while but we thought it was about time to return to "Downtown 140" in beautiful Hudson, Ohio. The quaint little village is as picturesque as can be. Easily equal to Chagrin Falls, Chardon Square or any other in northeast Ohio. We arrived and parked along the main street, strolled down the block to the front door. Upon entering you desend the stairway to your left. At the bottom you pass through a glass door into a very nicely appointed dining room (see attached picture). This is a "below the sidewalk" establishment and gives off a smokey, speakeasy type vibe... very classy. As you enter you will discover the hostess is at the far end of the room where the entrance from the rear parking lot is. Evidently that is where the majority of customers enter. I prefer the front... no matter. She saw us right away and immediately walked over and greeted our party. We were quickly seated at our table for the evening. A nice gentleman introduced himself as Christian, our server for the evening. He was quick with a smile and full of knowledge and energy. We placed our drink order and began to peruse the menu. The regular and evening specials menus are more than satisfactory to make any pallet happy. We began with "Deviled Eggs" topped with Caviar, need I say, they were marvelous. Also, the "Oysters Rockefeller" were excellent. The choice of entree's are very nice. My wife chose "Chilean Seabass" Spice Rubbed Carrot/Ginger Puree Haricot Verts Almond/Yuzu Chimichurri. I went with my absolute favorite, "Lamb Chops" Herb Crusted Dijon Crispy Gnocchi Green Peppercorn Jus. So did my brother. And his wife ordered the "Sea Scallops" Roasted Beets Humboldt Fog Pistachios Orange/Saffron Butter. Everything was exceptional as always. KUDOS to the entire kitchen staff. We followed dinner with a fine cup of coffee and shared a couple orders of "Whipped Chocolate Mousse" infused with chopped hazelnuts... fabulous. So, as I have said before, if you enjoy "Fine Dining" that is consistently excellent; make the trip to Hudson, Ohio and visit "Downtown 140". You'll be glad you did.

This gem is one of my favorite places in Hudson. Every meal made to perfection, the staff has always been fantastic and super helpful, the crafted cocktails I'm always wanting more and the vibe is moody in the best way. I love the set up from the moment I step in and experience everything. If you haven't tried put this on your list. It's a great place for date night or girls night.

Service outstanding. Food was beyond exceptional. Can't wait to go back! The carrot soup, short rib and tortellini was also amazing!

My wife and I dined here for the third time in three years. Overall, this is a great restaurant. The location and setting in the restaurant is very quaint and interesting with us, exposed brick, and wooden pillars. Our server was very attentive and did a great job with our table. My biggest gripe is the slow service coming from the kitchen. We were told the escargot would be a longer wait due to the cooking process, but it came out over an hour after we sat down. I feel this is extensive and by the time we got the appetizer, my patience had boiled over, and I didn't enjoy the food as much as I would like. The escargot, however, is exceptional and certainly a different touch with the puff pastry. I ordered the rack of lamb and was hoping for something different than my usual steak. It was good, but had a little more fat than my liking and for the price it was not worth it. The grilled gnocchi with the meal was just OK but not the type of gnocchi I like you would get at an authentic Italian restaurant. My wife had the chicken fried lobster meal and it was fantastic. It was actually better than the lamb by a long shot. This is a great restaurant, but I do agree with other reviews that it is over priced. I have also experienced slow kitchen service three times now and you just need to be patient if you want to enjoy your experience. We were in and out in two hours and we skipped dessert as we had to get back.

Our " go to" for THE best dining experience in the tri-county area. From Andy and Bridget making you feel like family to Sara's personal attention, this is a must for anyone looking for a guaranteed great foodie experience. Chef Clinton House and his team brought their A-game as usual. For a best in the area experience you must dine at Downtown 140. Each dish was topped by the next. Do yourself a favor and reserve a table soon. One should not be in a hurry and treat this like the typical restaurant who's primarily interested in turning tables; rather this is a dining experience to be savored. You will thank me :) As far as those complaining about price; my only comment is you get what you pay for and we always leave here satisfied and spoiled.

We were seated immediately and greeted by our server. The service overall was very slow, it did take a while for water to come out, and then for our drinks to come. It seemed like somewhat of a busy night, but the service was still extremely slow. For drinks, we ordered the strawberry lemon drop, and the champagne sangria. We were told the strawberry lemon drop was sweet and that's why I ordered it. It was the exact opposite. So bitter that I had to ask to switch it because that's how bitter it was. The champagne sangria was just okay. For appetizers, we ordered the buffalo chicken spring rolls. These were OVERLY fried. It felt like I was eating fried dough with some bits of chicken. Flavor was okay, but I definitely wouldn't order these again. We also ordered a Cesar salad, and a greens salad. These were both very delicious. The Cesar salad was very good and you can request it with our without the anchovies on top. We ordered a lobster bisque soup as well which was good. For dinner, we ordered the Twin Filet Medallions. I ordered mine medium. The issue with this was that one of the filets was cooked medium, and one was cooked medium rare. The one that was cooked medium was absolutely delicious, the one that was medium rare was not as good. I was disappointed with this because I only enjoyed 1 out 2 of the filet. This dish came with a side of mashed potatoes and string beans. The plate itself was HOT, however the temperature of the mashed potatoes was warm on the outside, and then the inside was cold. For desserts, we ordered the crème brûlée, the chocolate cake, and the cheesecake. The crème brûlée was by far the best dessert. The top was nice and crispy and the flavor was delicious. The chocolate cake was huge, and also really good. The cheesecake I would not recommend because if it wasn't for the peach compote on top, it would have no flavor. It was very very bland. Overall, I would return to this restaurant and probably try different menu options. The service and consistency of the food lacked, but I would love to give it another try.

So that's what I ordered, along with some Brussels sprouts. There are a lot of new food trucks in CLE and this one wasn't on yelp prior to me adding it. Welcome to yelp, Beachcomber! May your food be tasty and your reviews positive! My Cuban sandwich was very tasty, but I found myself wanting more filling. It was low on meat, but delicious. As for the Brussels sprouts - they were amazing! They had bacon and other yummy stuff that made me want more. They were sliced and fried so they cooked quickly. I would definitely recommend these. I'll be back to taste some tater tots. Recommend.

They had shrimp tacos, jerk chicken over coconut rice, ahi tuna salad, ahi tuna tacos, buffalo chicken pierogies and parmesan tater tots. Trying to keep it on the healthier side, I ordered the ahi tuna salad. The tuna was well prepared, pink in the center with a subtle peppery crust and thinly sliced over a variety of greens. I could eat tuna like this everyday and I'm not a big seafood person. They use a ginger citrus soy based dressing which was bright and refreshing. My only disappointment was not having enough of the dressing. Even after mixing thoroughly, many of my greens remained sad and dry. At $11, it is pricey but very tasty. Would have again but will probably try a different truck every Wednesday!
