This review is based on several visits to kingfish. If it weren't for my last experience I would've given it 5 stars. Kingfish is an upscale seafood restaurant with a modern nautical theme for its interior. The service has always been wonderful we've lucked out with very attentive waitresses/waiters. My top dishes are the blackened salmon and fried green tomatoes (except for the last visit). I took my father for a belated Father's Day celebration on Monday and the fried green tomatoes were either undercooked (or cornmeal was raw inside but burnt on the outside) or severely over cooked -hard blacken and dry. I've had them on several Occasions and they were great and perfectly cooked albeit that was on a weekend. Nonetheless my father loved his surf and turf. The bread pudding was rich and decadent. I didn't expect it to come out as a slice but it worked. Overall check this spot out even if just for a happy hour. If ordering the fried green tomatoes maybe do it on the weekend due to inconsistent cooking.

Kingfish is running a November special called "Lobster in the Land" for $49 that is an extra $10 off during happy hour and it was DELICIOUS. Included is a first course (salad or bisque) and second course (I picked surf and turf) with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Every last bite was fantastic, and so was our service from Lucy! 10/10.

Kingfish is my go to restaurant when we go out for a good dinner, however, this dish was terrible! The chick was way overcooked and dry. The mashed potatoes were okay as well as the green beans. The salad was the best part of the dinner. Everyone else in my part ordered either a filet or fish and had a great experience. The service was just okay and the ambiance excellent.

After living in FL for the past 8.5 years, my husband and I have some high standards for seafood. We didn't think it would be possible to find anything close to the quality we had been enjoying in FL when we moved back to OH, but Kingfish proved us wrong (for which we are very happy!). Here are the things we tried: -Lobster Bisque -Shrimp Cocktail -Grilled Salmon -Surf & Turf (Lobster tail and filet mignon) -Sides: Lobster mashed potatoes, Creole risotto, regular mashed potatoes, asparagus, and green beans Each dish was cooked to perfection! The lobster bisque was creamy and had multiple good size pieces of meat. The clarified butter for the lobster was served over a candle to keep it warm during the meal. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. The salmon was moist and flaky. The service? Attentive and friendly. The vibe? Quite dim and moody, perfect for a date night. The price? It's up there, but you get what you pay for and it was worth the price to us. Comfort? The booth that we sat in had a pretty worn out seat, but I couldn't detract a star with how well amazing everything else was. We'll be back!

If you're in Akron and craving seafood that's fresh, flavorful, and served with a smile, Kingfish should be at the top of your list. It's a place where casual meets quality, and every dish and they have an incredible happy hour! From fresh seafood and service I will definitely be returnin--and I recommend you do the same!

This was some of THEE best food that I have ever tasted. EVERYTHING was delicious. The lobster was buttery, sweet and it melted in your mouth. And this lobster mashed potatoes. . . bae bae . . . scrumptious! The service was excellent. Our server was super attentive and the atmosphere had a nice chill vibe. Because it was my birthday, I received a free dessert of crème brûlée. I was creamy with the perfect amount of sugar crust and fruit. It's a 30 minute drive from my house. I'm already trying to figure out when I can make it back there.

Stopped by Kingfish with my wife for our wedding anniversary dinner. We made a reservation and when we arrived, we were promptly seated. A minute later, our server arrived and was very friendly. We were given menus and our drink requests were taken. Sadly, they didn't have any ciders on the menu, so I ordered a lager beer, which ended up being good. My wife requested mussels as an appetizer. They were served in a delicious, hot broth with tomatoes, garlic, and other yummy ingredients. The one ingredient in mussels that I hate is sand. The mussels were large, but each one that I ate had at least one grain of sand in it. Sand doesn't have a great mouth feel. Ya know? That's why I don't love mussels in general. We were also served bread, which I dipped in the mussel broth, and tasted awesome. For dinner, I asked the server to choose between two dishes for me - Steak Diane and Pasta Newburg. He recommended the Steak Diane for a couple reasons. One reason was that it was being removed from the menu. The second reason is that I've never had Steak Diane before and he said it was absolutely delicious. So that's what I requested and my wife requested the crab cake dinner. A good while later, our dinners arrived. My steak and her crab cake looked amazing. Upon first bite, the steak was cooked correctly (medium), was juicy, and delicious. It had just a little Diane sauce, but I was expecting more it it. It didn't really need any sauce though because the steak was extremely tender and flavorful. It ended up being one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. It was that good. I also loved the mushrooms it was served with. The mashed potatoes were excellent as were the green beans. This meal was perfectly prepared. I tasted my wife's crab crake and it was yummy, but nowhere near as good as my steak dish. I finished all of it and was very content. This was an excellent meal!

I recently had dinner here with my stepfather and I do want to state that the staff were incredibly friendly. Additionally, the cocktails were excellent. The food however, was really quite bad. I ordered the crabcakes as an appetizer, and they were very undercooked. by that I mean, super mushy and falling apart, not crispy at all whatsoever. As my entrée, I ordered their prosciutto wrapped halibut, which I was really excited about initially. That excitement came to a screeching halt when I attempted to cut into it, as it was seriously and legitimately hard, I mean, tough. As you know, halibut should be incredibly tender, and this was so badly overcooked it was criminal. The bed of greens that the fish were sat on top of were so horribly over salted They were inedible. Not to mention that they too were incredibly overcooked and were absolute mush. I was crushed! They of course offered to remake the dish for me, but at that point, I was so nervous at what I would receive that I just simply decided to order their burger special of the evening, which was fine, but was nothing extraordinary. I will say that the french fries were really good however. All in all, not a completely terrible evening as the cocktails were really excellent, and the staff was very sweet. In short, I would say definitely avoid their seafood. Lol.

It had so many yummy textures and I opted out to remove the strawberries and instead of the Asian dressing, I ended up choosing Italian, which was based on my own personal preference and I'm so happy I did. The super food salad had so many wonderful ingredients, including pistachios, different berries, and edamame. The steak itself was cooked perfectly, and the entire salad was very refreshing. I didn't try it personally, but the plate had three decent size pieces of fish with a side of fries and coleslaw. Nice offering for Good Friday meal. Two of us had Chicken piccata and really appreciated that we could substitute out the side of pasta! One of us ordered a side of grilled veggies (highly recommend) and the other steamed broccoli. Highly recommend the grilled veggies! Good combination of different vegetables. The broccoli was good, but would have ordered without butter. There was a pool of butter they were swimming in. The piccata was good - 3 decent sized pieces of chicken breast. Note if you are not a red pepper fan, order the sauce without. I forgot to ask, but they were easy to pick out. The calamari was a good portion for an appetizer. We hoped they had cocktail sauce for it, but they only had marinara. The mesclun salad was very good and really good size for a half portion. We did not order dessert, but the cakes when you first walk in are quite impressive and imagine are delicious!
