I gave Amelia's 5 stars. 1 star is it should be shut down 2 stars you might get food poisoning 3 stars you might like it but I won't be back 4 stars I liked it and I will be back 5 stars it is worth a drive to eat here. Amelia's is in the basement and has an old world vibe with eclectic booths, lighting and book shelves. I didn't get pictures this time but will when I go back. The food is excellent with true chefs cooking. I did the elk special with scallops. Cooked to perfection. My wife had the pierogis with beef. The pierogis were hand made and so good. She loved the horseradish sauce. The bartenders, Miles and Chloe, are excellent at what they do. My wife asked Chloe to "be creative" and make her an adult beverage - she made her version of a New York sour. Well let's just say we will be just so my wife can get another one. A great restaurant in the basement of the building. Butchers on the top and Amelia's in the bottom. Reservations for 4. Nice wine selection. We chose the Cab and a couple of Sangiovese blends. Great service. Fri d cauliflower and a warm cheese dip for appetizers (Feta I believe). Halibut, Filet, Chicken Wellington, and a Sad with Chicken. Delicious. Okay buckle up, this is a long one: My husband and I made an anniversary reservation for here on a Saturday night at 8:30. Cocktail seating. We weren't sat until 9:00ish. The folks in front of us were also sat ~15 min late. We know because the manager promised them comped drinks. I was skeptical to begin with because a friend mentioned that they waited ~40 min to be seated for a reservation. Hoping this was a fluke and paying the $10 deposit, we still went. My issue with this: for any place that requires a credit card for a reservation, you'd think they would have stricter reservation policies. 5 or 10 minutes usually doesn't fly at places that require a credit card for a hold. They explained that reservation after reservation was late, but they didn't call or text to tell me this. Did they make it right with free dessert? Sure. But for the price and what seems expected, this just isn't the way things should have gone. Food: We got the Brussel sprouts and scallops for apps and the halibut and the pierogis for entrees. The brussel sprout portion was huge (they are cheap lol) and the scallop portion was tiny. Again, for the level that this restraunt is at, just being particular, this is interesting. Now the entrees: Nothing to write home about. The pierogis absolutely had too much horseradish in the creme fresh, it overpowered the dish. On the flip side, the halibut was under and unevenly seasoned and overcooked. For the price point, you'd just expect more. The ambiance was nice. The old vintage book bar vibe was spot on. Another review mentioned that the naked women (and only women) were too much in the bathrooms. I agree. Why am I looking at full tits out? Unnecessary when that's not the vibe of the rest of the place. The manager also specifically told us to look at the bathrooms. Weird. Probably won't go back. It was just fine. 6.8/10. read more

The deposit fee is a little goofy and I don't get the point but it does come off your bill total We are fans of the Farmers Rail and PitchFork and we're excited to try this new concept! It did NOT disappoint! The experience of going through TFR down the steps to a door and into a cozy sexy dark and beautiful restaurant set the tone all the bat. Felt like well kept secret The staff is friendly and helpful. She let us know she would keep us at a relaxed pace ans I appreciate that heads up. We could have adjusted if we wanted but we enjoy our company and savor every single course Cocktails list was creative and clever one was happy to see a cool mocktails list! The menu is not too big to overwhelm but has plenty of variety to make it hard to choose! We enjoyed crab claws, Brussels and Cajun shrimp dip. Fabulous shareable portions 1/2 salads and the rare opportunity for a soup too! Loved the Breads. Fresh made cherry herb bread for the table Entrees were steak, braised beef pierogies, pasta and TFR burger. The steak was fork tender (filet) and prepared on point! Hubby planned a birthday/anniversary evening which started with dinner here. The restaurant is downstairs and is very dark, which gives its a seductive feel. We were promptly greeted by our server, who's gave us a rundown of the drink specials, gave us a few moment to figure out what we wanted to drink, came back took our drink order then reviewed the food specials. For drinks I did the key lime martini which was dessert in a glass, hubby did the old fashioned which was delicious. I had a glass of the super Tuscan with my meal. I ordered the strip steak with whipped potatoes and did a peppercorn crust, the steak was cooked perfectly! Hubby ordered the braised beef and pierogis. That was also good, but was very salty. He said he wouldn't order it again due to the salt, but other than that it was good. Overall it's a nice place for a good meal without being overly expensive and it's a cool vibe. My husband and I had such a fun night here! We shared the kimchi cauliflower, ahi tuna wonton nachos, and the carrot cake, and everything was fabulous, packed with flavor, and just the right size for sharing. By the time we finished, we were way too full for entrees... so now we definitely have to come back to try more. We went with a bottle of wine from their awesome selection (the cocktails looked fabulous too!) and it paired perfectly with the food. We were tucked into a little semi-private booth area that felt cozy and comfortable, and it was quiet enough to actually hear each other without shouting...such a nice change from most places. I LOVE the vibes of this place. Ambiance is on point - really one of the best restaurants I've been to in years for aesthetic, service and variety on the menu - truly something for everyone. The food was pretty great as well! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because two of the entrees were a little under and over seasoned respectively (salmon and porkchop). Nothing that we would complain over and would not prevent us from returning, just a little less than advertised on one side and a little intense and too much on the other. Apps were the winners for the meal, along with a solid wine list and great atmosphere. Enjoy this place if you can get a res - it's a hot commodity! read more

The atmosphere here is very moody and chill. My husband and the couple we went with felt very relaxed even before drinking our boozy cocktails. Be aware though, there are some nude photos in the bathrooms, which depending on who you are, could be a good thing or catch you off guard. Everyone liked/really enjoyed their cocktails except for me. The bar tender who made our drinks was very friendly and put a lot of effort into them. I ordered a drink I don't typically get, so it's possible it was a good drink and it just wasn't for me. The real star of the show was the shrimp appetizer. This is a must order item! The steak, pork chops and berry salad were excellent. It's pretty much downhill from there. We were going to order an appetizer but decided that we'd munch on the bread instead. That was a mistake. The bread was hard as a rock - very stale. We were served ice cream that was half melted. The stairs getting down to Amelias are very dark. The hostess even warned us to watch our step. The place is like a fire trap and I didn't see any way that it could be ADA. We were seated at a booth with a center table that couldn't accomodate 4 guests. The server was pretty good about removing dishes/glasses, but it was still crowded. They call the decor "old Hollywood". It's old dust. Our server was inadequate. I could delineate, but what's the sense? No way is this a 5 star restaurant. In today's world, it's more than a good steak. It's a total package. Amelia's doesn't provide that. read more

Note; if you don't like or can tolerate hi-top tables, don't go or ensure your $20 reservation fee specifies normal dining table height. Food was good. Service? meh. Waiter took wine orders, then as we were ready to order mentioned Dinner Specials. Perhaps, that should be relayed before ordering beverages? Would have had an influence on wine choices! my husband and I live in Richfield and go to the farmers rail butcher shop for meat all the time. so we decided to give the restaurant a try. AMAZING and highly recommend. Our first time at Amelia's for my brothers birthday. While the food was good a few things fell short: 1. I put on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and it was never mentioned by the staff. If your going to have an option as to why your coming like a birthday, anniversary etc at least acknowledge it. 2. We were sat on couches with a coffee table that we were expected to eat at. So must of us had our plates on our lap to eat which was not ideal but thought that was classier than hunched over a table that's 24 inches off the ground. 3. Unless I missed the memo Amelia's is not adults only. the bathrooms had naked women and I was glad my 67 mother didn't go in she would have been offended. Also why no naked men? 4. Lastly a member of our dinner party asked for her salad to have dressing and cheese on the side and it came fully dressed. Would love to see some improvement before we return. read more

We were excited to check out this new place in CFalls. The atomsphere is so well done. The steps down could use more light, a bit hard to see all the steps. Super cozy and interesting decorations. We were seated quickly, server was pleasant and well trained, though it felt rushed, like she had somewhere else to be at times. Cocktails were outstanding! Loved the large water glasses. Whipped feta app was yummy. Brussels app good, but underseasoned. I had the filet which was very high quality, but a bit underseasoned as well. Mashed sweet potatoes tasted great! We were all looking forward to coming back until.....the restrooms. They are unisex, which is fine, BUT the design choice left a bad taste in our mouths. There were photos all over the walls from the Rat Pack era, however, the photos were either fully dressed men having a great time OR fully nude women? Confusing at best, offensive at worst. Felt totally tone deaf. If you choose to have nude pictures in your restaurants restrooms, still an odd choice, have both women and men. And if not, just have everyone clothed. Simple. If the restrooms were designed differently we would definitely comeback! read more

I was previously a big fan of both the Farmer's Rail and Amelia's and I understand that both the upstairs and downstairs can get very busy. I'm not unfamiliar with a 1 hour + wait for the upstairs; but I was very disappointed this week. This was my second time at Amelia's, after a pretty good first visit right when they opened. I had an 8:30 reservation booked more than a week out and was not seated (table of 4) until 9:28, and there were multiple 4-top tables open when we were finally escorted downstairs! This obviously threw the trajectory of my evening, and we had to rush our meal since the kitchen closes at 10:00. The service and food were excellent, but what's the point of a reservation if I'm going to be seated an hour late? To make up for our inconvenience, we were offered one round of drinks so long as they were under $15. While there's potential, Amelia's obviously needs to work out some kinks before I recommend them for the next special event. read more
