SHAME ON YOU A Plus Crab Owners & Management!! I can't believe what I just witnessed... So last night my husband & I were dining in at the restaurant. When we 1st arrived the server (we had many times in the past) politely greeted us & asked about are day. We could immediately see that she was upset & on the verge of crying. We told her we weren't in any rush & if she needed some time for herself we would be ok with waiting while she took the time to get herself composed and she could get back to us afterwards. She immediately started to cry & thanked us before heading to the bathroom. After a few minutes she came back to the table. We asked her if everything was ok. She explained, the family that just left (before we entered) left without paying their bill. This family had gotten FOUR King Crab Meals, each costing $109. The total bill being over $400. The sever went her management about this issue & they informed her this was her fault, she would responsible to unpaid bill & it wouldbe coming out of her next pay check. Another table directly beside us also witnessed this and these kind people gave the server alittle money to help cover the cost of the unpaid bill. But ultimately this server was left paid this bill costing her over $300. Management treated this poor girl so horribly, they held her responsible for such a high bill & then told her to stop "crying about it"! This was absolutely disgusting!! Why is the lowest paid person responsible for this?? I felt so bad for her!! I know it would take every bit of her tips for the day, plus some of her pay check to cover this unpaid bill. Until today, A Plus Crab was one of our favorite places to eat. The servers are always so pleasant & the food is fantastic. But after this experience we are now rethinking EVER going back to this establishment and Ill be sharing this experience with anyone I can, as an example of how NOT to treat your employees & people in general. I CAN NOT support any company knowing this is the treatment of their employees. I dont know how she didnt just walk out & never look back. But Im sure just like most people, she has bills to pay, a family to support & cant afford to be without a employment. Also, Im sure she probably cant afford to pay the customers unpaid tab either. As much money as this company makes & your telling me that they put this responsibility onto their lowest paid workers. THATS TOTAL BULLCRAP!! A Plus Crab, you really need to rethink your rules, policies & MOST of ALL the TREATMENT of YOUR EMPLOYEES!! This is shameful!! At a minimum YOU owe this poor girl an apology & maybe a raise for the CRAP treatment she endures while working for your company! DO BETTER!!! read more

We arrived and were seated seated promptly. Our server got drink orders and then disappeared for probably 10-15 mins (this happened several times) she got our appetizer order of hush puppies and then came back about 5 mins later to get our food order. About 20 mins later our boil bags came out... no hush puppies had been seen. I had to ask for them when she asked if anything was missing. I had also ordered egg in my bag and when she finally came back I mentioned it and she brought them in a bowl about 15 mins later. Order was not accurate. Glasses left empty half the meal and server can hardly be found. Flavor and temperature of food is good but that is about all. Unsure if Emily was having a rough night or if that's just the service she gives. Hardly any music during the meal but at the very end they turned the music to max volume for a happy birthday party song. read more

Amazing food! Delicious seasoning. You can choose your heat level. Since choices of Cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper, it all three combo. Had a generous amount of delicate sweet snow crab, shrimp, lobster tail potatoes and corn on the cob. Very fun to eat. You will get very messy! Staff was fun and friendly, and filled with lovely customers. The happy birthday song is fun the first time you hear it. Be prepared to have it stuck in your head all night. read more

Who would have thought this hidden gem was right under our noses all this time? Had I have known, I would have been eating here more often when i visit family in Kent. Located on 738 Howe Ave, this restaurant sits at the end of the plaza with a big old crab on it, you can't miss it. We go inside and it looks like a pirate ship/tiki bar/Bikini Bottom vibes. Very cute and campy; especially with the murals of crabs and boats all around. We get a menu as soon as we sit down, the waitress was kind and considerate. We ordered some crab ragoon and an order of hush puppies with it. Both were hot and tasty! We then ordered several boil bags and I got the lobster tail, shrimps with all seasoning (highly recommend) and it came with potatoes and a corn cob. Even with the bib, I didn't not leave a drop! The flavors were insane and me and my friends were picking at each others boils. We had so much fun! 5 stars we will be back! read more

The food was delicious! We got the family meal for 4 and it was way too much food for 5 of us.

I ordered over $150 worth of food all the seafood bags were perfectly fine but the catfish basket the fish was not fully cooked and when I tried to ask for it to be made again they kept trying to tell me that it was done because the cook set a timer for 9 minutes. The fish was slimy and falling apart and nothing about it was even half way cooked! read more

I've been here a few times and it's always good. The inside is decorated and fits the vibe. I always love the cover songs they play, it makes me laugh. I LOVE the beignets. I always make sure to get an order of them. The seafood is good! Very well seasoned and not dry at all. I normally share an order of food with someone and it's more than enough. The price is standard for seafood so I don't mind it at all. Definitely recommend! read more

This place is a staple! If you're in the mood for a seafood bag. Everything is always hot and fresh but I will say sometimes the portions are REALLY small. I just went in and was acknowledged by the bartender. That how I would explain his demeanor. Not inviting. I ordered wine and I smelled the glass. Pure raisins. I asked for a new bottle to be opened because it was spoiled. He took three minutes to process what I was saying. His reply was... you don't like it? For real? No... I do t like spoiled anything. All he had to do was smell the glass. Any bartender worth their weight would smell it before serving. The food was not impressive. The waitress was spread thin but nice overall. I go to every crab boil I have the chance to visit. I will drive to Cleveland, red crab juicy seafood bar, before I ever come back to this spot. My wife and I went there over the weekend. The atmosphere was very nice and clean. We ordered hushpuppies as an appetizer, and they were not good. Served with ranch dressing instead of butter and somewhat soggy. We both ordered the shrimp basket meal, and we thought the shrimp was very good and the portion size plentiful. The fries were just average, and the sweet tea was very good. It appears they specialize in crab boils, but we were not that hungry. These are a bit pricy. Fantastic food fantastic service! They had a lunch special that runs $21.99 for half a pound of snow crab, half a pound of shrimp, potatoes and corn on the cob--- it was to die for! Very good seafood and you get a lot! There is another seafood boil restaurant I do love the flavor better but here the quality is much better! I always get snow crab and here they are nice size and get the meat is cooked and comes right out of they shell like it's supposed to. Presentation is nice as well. The service is good and they always are offering refill on your drink. The specials are amazing . I hate hearing people complaining about prices. This is seafood you pay more for it than a burger. I have never reviewed on anything cz i never cared enough but i made an account just for this. First i'll start with the food, not clean and quite disgusting. poop all in the shrimp. i Got a few bags not paying attention. not enough sauce. potatoes HARD AS ROCK AND BREAK APART IN CHUNKS instead of melting apart like a good cooked potato should.Got a drink because i thought maybe i was being uptight (as it was my first time sitting down in this restaurant all the other bags were from doordash) The drink was so bad it tasted like battery acid and like the literal owner stuck his finger in his a**and swirled my drink around with it. The owner is SO rude. He not only walks away from people in the middle of them talking but he is so racist and discriminatory and will never EVER receive another dime from me again. As for my server she was great and i hope she finds another job. I witnessed him yelling at her for a small mistake on my bill and she stood there quietly as he yelled at her in a thick accent and told this girl that she "IS A HORRIBLE SERVER" crazy as ever to say. Place needs to be shut down!! There's a giant whole in the bathroom above the toilets and i felt like someone was watching me pee. but guess what? before i even got to pee i had to SEARCH for a clean toilet. if i could insert pictures of this all i would because i have so many. The toilets had crusted up fecal matter and other things on them. in both the MEN and WOMENS bathrooms. even the urinal was filthy. cute decor until you look up while your breaking your kneecaps squatting above that nasty toilet trying to pee from that cheap drink. First time eating here my man and I and all I have to say is WOW the food was absolutely amazing came out hot and fresh my server was from Maryland I can't remember her name but she was on top of it and knew everything when I asked a question about something I wasn't sure about the food was hands down so good in the sauce I picked oh my goodness it was worth the money and experience! If anyone has something bad or say about this place they are crazy because the servers take care of there tables o was very observant and it was very clean' thanks again to all the staff for the amazing food!! this place has really went downhill .. a server we had (Gina) brought out our food then decided she would NEVER come back AT ALL... no refills.. no "how are things" NOTHING.. for the rest of our stay! She even purposely avoided & ignored me when i tried to get her attention.. i spoke to a manager (who happened to be asian & spoke only mediocre broken english) & all he kept saying was "sorry bout that she so bad " he didn't care at all.. offered no resolution.. sucks cuz the food was good but it was 1 of the worst service experiences i've ever had at any place i've ever been!! i would NEVER go back to this place until the service is much much better & for that the management will have to care about the experience of the guests .. read more

If you are craving seafood, this is the place! The green mussels are huge! The flavor that they use for the Cajun sauce is delicious! Everything was so good. My husband and I will come back! Place was clean and quiet, food was fresh and fantastic, customer service was excellent and drink was strong, prices on the higher side.

Waited 30mins before I finally had to get up and tell the hostess we would like to be waited on. There were 5 in our party, four ordered mix drinks a one a cola. Only three of us got our mix drinks and never got the cola. For the price, to me the food is garbage! And at least for us that day the service was horrible. I wouldn't recommend going. Being a North Carolina girl I love a good seafood boil. Now that I'm in Ohio A plus crab is the seafood spot closest to me. However the seafood boils here have been anything but good. The sauce isn't actually a sauce. It's more of a oil that all your food is smothered in. Which 1. is unhealthy & 2 unappetizing. The first few bites diving in may be good but then you start to realize my corn taste just like my sausage, which taste just like my potatoes, which taste just like my crab. Which all taste like nothing but spicy oil. The service here is no better. Always slow, never friendly or social-able. Being ran by a manager just the same way. very rude and never willing to accommodate the restaurants wrong doings. If you order from here for a to go order & they are running low on that's food item before the night is over your bag will be missing that item (in hopes you don't call back & complain) you may be offered a food credit on your next visit. If your next visit is more than 30 days out that credit will not be accommodated. That's just terrible business in service. The average couple/family who eats here is spending close to or over $100 on their meal. You would think service would be great, food would be delicious and wrongs would be righted, but nope not the case here. I have gave this place more than a handful of tires but not anymore. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Drive the distance, find somewhere else. read more
