I recently had breakfast at Another Broken Egg Cafe in Streetsboro, and while the experience was not a disaster, it did feel like an expensive lesson in managing expectations. I was genuinely excited to find a place nearby serving eggs Benedict, since that is apparently now considered a rare regional specialty. The eggs Benedict itself was satisfying, and the decaf coffee was actually very good. It stayed hot, which was impressive because warmth was not exactly the theme of the rest of the experience. The custom mug was a nice touch, the silverware was clean, and my water glass was crystal clear, so points for clearing the very basic hurdles of public dining. That said, the details were where things started to drift. I asked whether I could get butter on the side for my English muffin and was told yes. When the food arrived, the butter had apparently chosen a different path in life. I selected the potatoes as my side, and they were dry and cold, which was a nice reminder that not all breakfast foods dream of being eaten. I also asked for cream with my decaf coffee and was given those little plastic peel-top cups of palm-oil creamer like the kind sitting beside a gas station coffee urn. It would have been helpful to know that beforehand, just so I could adjust my standards in advance. The service was probably the most disappointing part. My server never introduced herself, never said good morning, never welcomed me, and never asked how I was doing. The exchange had all the warmth and personality of renewing a vehicle registration. The first words out of her mouth were asking what I wanted to drink. Then whether I was ready to order. Then whether I was ready for the bill. Then she answered my question about whether I paid there or at the front. Finally, after the check, I did get a "have a good day," which was nice in the same way a closing credit is technically part of the movie. As an added bit of breakfast theater, I was seated near the kitchen entrance, while the table across the aisle featured what I mentally dubbed the Desperate Housewives of Streetsboro, carrying on a lively discussion about construction, a new kitchen, and the hand towels they were all apparently having to use in the meantime. It was less background ambience and more accidental community theater. For $21.87 for eggs Benedict, potatoes, and a decaf coffee, I expected a breakfast experience and not an exercise in emotional self-service. There were good elements here, but the missing butter, cold potatoes, fake creamer, and indifferent service made the whole thing feel more like a nicely plated inconvenience than a place I would be eager to revisit. read more

I live in a food Mecca city for the past 12 years. So when I come home to visit, the food scene here hurts my soul. Until I found this place. This was the first menu that truly excited me to try. This spot raises the bar for ohio food. The southern/ Cajun flair in the menu made my heart flutter. The Cajun shrimp and crawdad omelet was amazing but the bacon and gouda grits stole the show. I could eat my body weight in that dish. My only complaint for food is, I would have loved a louisiana hot sauce or some vinegar based hot sauce to go with it. The menu had SUCH a variety of options for all your cravings. Sometimes for breakfast I want something sweet, most other times I want savory...sometimes I don't know what I want and kind of want both! Here, you can find anything to satisfy your craving. I was surprised to see so many seafood options. They have affordable lunch options where you can mix a combo of different entrees to try. And they serve their coffee in beautiful, antique looking mugs you can purchase. Our waitress was so sweet and checked in on us regularly, refilling our coffee. I absolutely LOVE the potatoes! I got the lobster and Brie omelette which was so rich and flavorful. However, I think next time I would order without the cream cheese filling as it's pretty rich on its own. read more

Stopped at Another Broken Egg for some breaky. The vibes are really cool here. The interior is modern with comfortable seating. They have some really fun brunch cocktails and spiked coffees. I've done a review for a different Another Broken Egg Cafe but I was really wanting brunch so I decided to give a different location a try...you know...different people, different experience. But I ended up with the same conclusion as before. Don't get me wrong, our wait staff was great. The hostess was pleasant and sweet and swift. Our server was very good too. But the rest of the experience lacked. The music was just too loud to hold a conversation. Not the type of ambiance I want. Second, starting with the coffee...so, an insider tip...if your coffee is on the brink of being burnt,you can add a pinch of salt to bring it back. There was no saving this coffee. It was burnt, either brewed at too high a temperature or just plain sat too long. Second, my partner's meal (the cinnamon roll French toast) did not mention fruit in the menu description. Not something I would mind but he has texture issues and he wasn't happy about the misrepresented food. For me? The potatoes MUST have been batch made and just sat in a steam tray for too long. They were lukewarm at best, hard, and had absolutely no seasoning...or flavor. Even after I added salt, pepper and ketchup, they STILL had no flavor. The eggs Benedict...props where they are due...the eggs were poached perfectly and they were generous with the ham, but the Hollandaise, the same issue as the first time...no salt balance and overly chemical acidity. I can't say for sure if it is house made or not but it screamed "jug bought from Sysco" to me, especially since it was identical to the same issue from the first time. Really good overall. Convenient quick stop off the highway. You'll get a better cup of coffee than you would at Starbucks down the block. We had chicken and waffles and broken egg biscuit sandwich. Another Broken Egg is a breakfast chain, think one step above a Bob Evans type restaurant. Their food is primarily eggs and an extensive list of mocktails. For an egg restaurant they cook eggs pretty well. I was impressed with the texture of the eggs but overall disappointed in my meal. I ordered the Country Power Bowl which was almost $16. Overall the bowl lacked any resemblance of flavor and was a mixture of bland ingredients with the texture of vomit. As well, I was disappointed that it only came with a single piece of bacon at the near $16 price point. No complaints about the ambiance during my visit and the server was attentive. I was disappointed to see a $1.00 Service Charge on my bill with no explanation as to what it was for. While it is not a lot, those things need to be disclosed. Overall I think I'll go someplace else next time for breakfast. read more

***Read til the end. This place is hasn't changed much, unfortunately. I'm guessing staff turnover is the reason, but inattentive wait staff, and poorly preppeed and cold food seem to be standard. We were seated and a waitress came by our table. She said she'd be back. I watched her typing away at a work-station for about 10 minutes until a lady who appeared to be front of house manager came by. We placed out orders with her and never saw the waiter again until we requested the check. Our food took 45 minutes to come out. My grits and lobster hash benedict were pretty much cold throughout. My wife's biscuits and gravy had very little gravy but they brought out more for her. Someone stopped by with coffee once during our meal but the manager and waitress never returned. At the end of the meal the FOH manager brought us our bill and let us know she'd discounted it. This was nice, but I'm not 100% sure why she did it as no one had ever checked in with us. Maybe someone overheard us talking about the food being cold. It was a good thing to do from a management standpoint, and we ended up paying Just $20. That said, I'm not sure we'll give this location another chance. read more

First off our waitress Hailey was a rockstar. I ordered the crab cake Benedict. When it was first delivered the poached eggs were way over cooked. Hailey quickly took them back and got me a fresh and way better cooked Benedict. As I ate them the flavor was very good however texturally they were too soft. Well, this place was recommended by a friend, so we decided to give it a try on a Sunday a little after the breakfast rush. Let's start with we were seated by the front door so wear a jacket (it's currently winter) but we were greeted by staff, very polite so there's a star. Well then, our waiter asked for our drinks, we asked for no ice. Our drinks arrived with ice, not a big deal she switched them out, we placed our order. I asked for the BLT but with no tomatoes, my husband ordered chicken and waffles with a side of shrimp jambalaya. Our food comes out, tomatoes in my BLT, lucky me I'm not allergic. Easy fix, I remove them myself. My husband didn't get his chicken and waffles. It's fine we waited a bit longer while he ate his side of shrimp jambalaya. Waiter comes around, we kindly ask about his plate, she says "oh that's correct let me check on that", comes back and says "oh another waiter took your plate, let me place and I'll ask manager for a discount", we all finished our meal while my husband was still waited on his. Food came, he ate and plate was hot so that's another star. Well then, the bill arrives, no discount given so we kindly remind waiter, she asks manager and we get the side of jambalaya for free, cool! Well now there is a service fee, excuse me? A service fee for a place that offers service? Well that is funny. Food isn't bad but not enough to do another stop but I'll give it another star. For a chain/franchise, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this place. The food was fresh and prepared properly. The poached eggs were perfectly runny-yolked, and the fruit was delightfully fresh for a winter day. Our server was friendly and didn't miss a beat! The place does get busy on weekends. I made an online order. It's was exactly 30 minutes late. I could see that they were busy but they were the ones that gave me the pick up time. When I finally got my food I asked for plastic silverware. They said they were out. I just waited 30 extra minutes for biscuits, gravy and eggs that I either have to eat with my hands or ask another restaurant to furnish silverware for. I probably wouldn't have complained about the food if all that hadn't happened but the gravy was bland and lumpy and the biscuits were hard and dry. Anyways, don't come here. Brunch cocktails and lunch options as well as breakfast. Huge portions and really tasty food. Tried out Another Broken Egg Cafe in Streetsboro finally. The food menu is very good and it was tasty! The restaurant was busy, you can join the waitlist online which I recommend! We were seated fairly quickly and the wait staff was prompt in getting our drinks and food orders. They have a pretty expansive drink menu. Many different types also available in pitchers. Disappointing. My last meal with my elderly parents before catching a plane home. This was a new location and I have had good meals at the Texan version. Imagine my disappointment. Ordered biscuits and gravy with sausage with sausage, hold the eggs. The waitress offered up some additional meat to replace the eggs and suggested bacon. I'm in! Unfortunately, the original sausage that came with the dish didn't come along and the bacon was overcooked and old. Actually that was the theme of the dish with the biscuits dense and cold with a layer of congealed gravy, topped with a fresher version. At least the color contrast was interesting. The waitress brought me a new plate of meat and while the sausage were tasty, the bacon was cooked on one side and raw covered with white cold grease on the opposing side. Definitely memorable for all the wrong reasons. The waitress was appalled and offered to replace again explaining the back of house was new but I declined. Everyone else was reasonably satisfied so we will revisit when next in town to see if the kinks are worked out. Prices are large but so are the dishes. read more

So busy but only waited 20 minutes for a table. There is an online waitlist but it didn't work for us. Server is fantastic! Knows the menu. Kept an eye on drinks and kept us posted on our order. Plenty of drinks to choose from if you want a mixed drink. The hurricane is a little gin heavy, could use some grenadine. Loud but not too loud. Ordered chicken and waffles at my server's suggestion. We also had the sausage and biscuits, came with eggs (your choice), potatoes, and sausage made here! Sausage a little spicy for us. Chicken was fresh, not processed! Chipotle honey drizzled on it. So good! Bathrooms have enough space and they are clean. Baby changing station in the men's room (thank you!) away from the urinals. Saw one error at another table - food runner left the food at the wrong table. Took a bit to sort out. The table it belonged to refused it, of course. Food runner was back shortly with an apology and a snack for them while they waited for another breakfast which came quickly. Overall, good food, we will be back. Our server, Dana, really put this over the top. She was helpful, courteous, and fun. She truly cared that we had a good experience and asked for feedback on the meal. We will be back! read more

We love this new breakfast spot in town! Although they told us it would be a 20 min wait, we only ended up waiting about 7 minutes. They were very accommodating and kind despite the busy Sunday morning traffic. The food and drinks were also great and they have some very cool season options! I've never been to the restaurant so when I saw it in my town I thought why not. Let's go for it! I immediately noticed something felt off when there was hardly a soul in the place! I was tempted to leave but decided to give it the benefit of the doubt considering it was closing soon. I shouldn't have. I ordered the strawberry pound cake French toast sticks with a side of bacon, hash browns and sausage. The french toast sticks fell apart every time I stuck my fork in it. The sausage was less than pleasant. And the kicker was the bacon. It tasted like someone stuck it in the embers of a fire and burnt it and put it on my plate. Only edible thing was the hash browns.
