Came here before going hiking and it was perfect for our group! It was a gorgeous day so we opted to sit outside. We appreciated the umbrellas to have shade. We ordered appetizers to start - Fried Green Tomato's, Deviled Eggs, and Eggplant Fries. They were all good, but our favorites were the eggplant fries (crispy and held together) and the fried green tomatoes (they should really offer a fried green tomato sandwich! It came with a really good sauce that I ended up using on my chicken instead of the chipotle one my meal came with). The eggs were good, a little tricky to eat with the pickle but really loved this as an option to order! All of our sandwiches and wraps were good size and tasty! From the first person to say hello when we walked in to the hostess to our server, we're all super friendly and hard working. I'll be sure to stop here again next time I'm in the area. We stopped here in July 4th for lunch. Getting seated was odd. The staff couldn't really tell us if the tables at the bar were seated by the hostess or first come first served. One waitress was quite nice and let us know when a spot at the bar opened so we could move inside from the outdoor bar. The bar tender yelled down the bar to get our order, instead of coming to us. Made for an odd ordering process where we couldn't really ask questions. We got the ribs. They were the worst ribs I've ever had. The meat was completely dry. They were barely luke warm. Stopped at Fishers Cafe this week for a couple of beers and some food. They have a good selection of IPAs at $7 for a pint and $9 for a 22 oz. The fish was average size and served on a Po Boy bun. Everything here is designed to offer fast service to the many Park visitors, and with that in mind, they rated 4 stars. This restaurant is approximately midway in the stretch of the Cuyahoga National Park, so it was very busy on a Saturday morning. We were able to find outside seating in the shade, which was enjoyable. The team of servers were working well together, I think they are used to large quantities of people! The meal was simple, the ingredients were basic, and the service was fast - all designed to move people in and out quickly. They had a large parking area to accommodate the crowd which was great! If you get a chance, take a walk to the bathroom and look at the photos and memorabilia on the walls. The was a sweet framing of an old time, 1-page telephone directory. Went here for a business meeting and the service was great. Food was also great. We got the lunch special quesadillas as well as a Philly steak and Swiss sandwich. The only thing I didn't care for was the horseradish or wasabi mayonnaise but that's a personal preference. I would preferred straight mayonnaise. The eggplant fries were epic! Out of all the wings that we had the Thai chili was the best. Then the garlic and the buttermilk ranch were my least favorite. This cafe in a ramshackle gathering of buildings is a great option in Peninsula. People were gathering for the clambakes, but as a native Long Island girl, I thought Peninsula a little too far from the shore to venture down that critique. Instead I reached for the pig, in this case a pulled pork number that delighted my tongue with texture and a tangy sauce. Mom ordered her typical litmus test for a new joint, the patty melt and was satisfied. Service was a little slow with what appeared to be kitchen issues but hey, we all have an off day. Ordered a Santa Fe salad and some wings. The salad was nothing more than a bagged mixture, half of a chicken breast and corn and beans. No appeal to it, I could do better making one myself at home. A couple weeks late on this review due to vacation. Atmosphere: My partner and I stopped here on our way back home from visiting my family in Brunswick Hills. The atmosphere was POPPIN'! It was a beautiful day and walking up, there were a ton of people sitting outside, the grill was going and the air was filled with laughter and summer vibes. The inside was just as busy. We opted for a seat at the bar so we weren't too too crowded. Food: At first, we were literally just stopping to have a shot after the family get-together. But then the bartender mentioned that they were grilling ribs and I couldn't help myself. We got our shot of whiskey and ordered a half rack of ribs to share (we had hamburgers and hotdogs a few hours before). The ribs came out, great presentation. My partner did not care too much for the rub on the ribs, But I found them to be delicious. In my opinion, they could have been a little more "fall-off-the-bone" but they probably can't do a "low and slow" on their ribs with a packed house. Also, if they hadn't been as busy, I would have gotten some sweet treats to go but they were nearly out of everything because of how busy they were. No fault to them. The thing that got me teetering between a 3 and a 4 star review was the fact that I was completely unaware that my ONE SHOT of whiskey was going to be just as much as our plate of ribs. I am not even joking. I asked the bartender and he said "yeah, the owner really charges a lot for the bourbon". Honestly ridiculous. Overall: I would say that because of the ambiance and yummy food, we would be excited to go back but geez, I like having a stiff drink with my means and if I am paying the same for a shot of whiskey as I am a whole plate of food, that just doesn't make sense to me. We would have to go there and just have food with nothing to drink or go someplace else. Although we would LOVE to try some of the delicious sounding dishes, we may just have to try some of the other local haunts. read more

They have a real nice patio. And the menu looked awesome. But unlike a lot of restaurants that are trending towards people's personalities that Allow pets on the patio. This establishment does not allow pets. so they lost not only my business today, but possibly several others. We are sitting across the river at the coffee shop and there's at least eight dogs on the patio. While their owners drink and ate. So that would've been 16 people at the restaurant at probably $20 a a person if not more. This is right by a trail so catering to pet owners would definitely benefit the business. Took the CVSR railway up from Akron and stopped in before I began my bike ride. The deviled eggs were delicious and lobster bisque smooth and tasty. The deviled eggs were topped with a honey bacon jam. Definitly recommend stopping in for a bite to eat. Just note that that they stop serving breakast on the weekends at 11 which is the same time the train gets in so youll probably miss bfast if trying to catch it after getting in on the train. read more

Came here before going to the Ledges Overlook for a sunset view before starting the week while traveling for work. I really liked the interior & location bc it makes you feel like you're at a cool diner. I got carry out with the Chicken Tenders & Eggplant Fries. Both may seem like they weren't too much food but it was a perfect amount. The fries were amazing & the wasabi aioli was top notch add. The Chicken Tenders are amazingly lightly battered. Since we don't live nearby, we did a quick search online and on Yelp to figure out where to go. SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT -- The service was good and I think the warm weather made everyone generally happy. We waited a little more than expected though to get our food but the restaurant was just very busy that day. The inside is similar to your typical pub with wood seating, dark colours, and dim light which isn't my favourite aesthetic. Since it was summer, my friend and I decided to sit outside. COVID -19 (Coronavirus) -- This restaurant is still open as of July 2020, when I visited. There was plenty of seating outside to physically distance yourself from others. FISH and CHIPS -- I ordered the Fish and Chips ($11.99 price as of July 2020) and it was a generous quantity. It came with a very small side of coleslaw. It tasted fine because I was just really hungry but it was nothing spectacular. It was average fish. I'm very easy to please but I think 4 and 5 star reviews are for really good food including overall experience. A 3/5 star review is fair for Fisher's Cafe. If you live in Cleveland, I would not recommend that you drive here for lunch because the drive is over an hour. We did a family bike ride and then had lunch at Fishers. I would say it was fine. Not great, not terrible. There was an unfortunate episode where we requested a table out of the sun and they tried to say that someone else who had come in after us was waiting for that table. After that the service was okay. Our food took quite a while and several tables that had sat down after us were served before us. The food was fine. We had some wings as an appetizer which were good. We tried the bbq sauce, teriyaki and parmesean dry rub. The Nashville chicken sandwich was pretty good. The spinach salad was reasonable though the chicken on top had the consistency of having come out of a can. The kids chicken nuggets and Mac and cheese were good for what they were. Cute place on the main strip in Peninsula, just outside the hiking trails and across the street from the Winking Lizard. They have a parking lot and ample seating, both indoor and outdoor. We sat outside on a busy Saturday afternoon and got right in. The food is what you expect at a pub, nothing special or fancy but they have a good variety. Service was fast and friendly and the four of us were reasonably pleased with our meals (three burgers and a salad). The fries were my favorite!
