I wandered into Applebee's on Hudson Drive in Stow, Ohio during the pandemic. I was shopping at Walmart and decided to stop for lunch - to this day, I still patronize this location! The staff treats customers like family (which was especially important during the "no contact" portion of the pandemic). Applebee's often showcases special plates, but the standards are the foundation of the menu, and everything is delicious. The Chicken Wanton Tacos are amazing - and the fact that they're sometimes sold out speak to their popularity. The "specialty" drinks are quirky and delicious - this is just a FUN place to hang out! They also give back to the community by paying tribute to our Veterans in November with several specials! The chef and managers come to the dining room to greet guests personally - it's not often that you find great service like this at our local restaurants anymore. we have given them so many opportunities to be better bit they still keep getting things wrong. Tonight we ordered carry out. i ordered tje chicken tender salad with ranch dressing. I discovered AFTER I poured dressing all over my salad that it was blue cheese, which I hate! So, my salad was ruined. Also my bread stick is missing. Horrible experience!! The blonde waitress tonight hit on my husband right in front of me and only spoke to him the entire time we were there. I even locked eyes with her and she had the audacity to turn to him and ask him how the food was but I was non existent. Also, it took forever for us to get our drinks and to even get the ticket. As a pregnant woman, who's been a waitress before, the number one rule is to always make the woman feel important. She had no respect for me at all or any women as a matter of fact. I have been a regular customer here for years and LOVE the food an use to love the service. My friend and I dined here Saturday night June 21 and were appalled the bar was CLOSED due to lack of a bartender but the worst was our waitress mixed up my bill and I ended up paying 60 which should have been 43. I agree I should have checked but I have NEVER had any problems. In her defense she was overloaded. She said she corrected the bill and I paid a new one. I have not received any notification from my bank that the money was credited. I would appreciate hearing from someone in the HR dept. BTW what happened to the previous manager and regular workers? What a gift this place was tonight. David had a cardiac incident and it's going to be a few hours before I can take him home. For twenty bucks, this old standby helped us out with a tasty gluten free meal for two (doctors said I could feed him anything, so he is getting ribs!) and much compassion. Thank you for making my night easier. I walked in and we went over the allergens menu together. After that, I waited in my car for what didn't really seem like 20 minutes and they brought the meal out to me. My family and I ordered 60.00 worth of food tonight. We ordered a neighborhood double burger, and it was pieced together. There was one big burger cut in half stacked on top of each other, separated by cheese and no tangy mayo. The macaroni and cheese tasted like vegetables it was disgusting. We also ordered a baked potato, French onion soup, and fries that were cold. The cheese on the French onion soup was rubbery. The riblets were good and wings, but that was it. We will never eat here again We will go to Howe rd. Time to step up Applebee's. read more

I'm not one who typically orders from chain restaurants, and Applebee's doesn't have the most thrilling menu, but this location is always consistent. I've only ever ordered carside or delivery, but even so, the service has been great. I really enjoy the wonton tacos, the nachos, the quesadillas, the crispy chicken salad, and of course, the fries. One bonus is that you can order takeout cocktails; they have a pretty solid Long Island. I appreciate how late they stay open, too. read more

Sat for over 10 minutes at table watching our waitress walk by us 4 times serving others and didnt so much as look in our direction muchless say anything to us. Then she and another waitress talked in the back for a couple of minutes. Thought she was asking the other waitress to take our table. However, other waitress started serving others and not us. It sucks being a server when the cooks dont read the tickets to ensure their cooking accurately but the staff is very friendly and I would come back with hopes the kitchen staff can correct the simple mistakes. Go early, before 6pm and get their burgers for 6.99. I tried their Beer Garden burger with sweet potato fries and I am glad I did. The Beer Garden burger is loaded with great flavor and I will definitely go back to get it again! I ate at the bar and watched and had discussions with the bartender about the Olympics. Hands down...the best Applebees I've ever been to. Our server, Caylan, was amazing and the manager was super friendly. Our food came fast, our drinks were always full, and she even got us drinks to go without even having to ask her. The restaurant was cozy and very clean. I will definitely be back. Ok. We come here quite often....and see the same ppl (workers I mean) NO attempt to say to us--- hello again, nice to see your back..nothing. I normally tip well, just because it's part of my nature being a part of the service industry for so long. But this chain, especially this location and Howe Ave really need to get it together. The service tonite was awful. First of all, they had a new waitress training. I've worked in my share of restaurants, and the "Normal" policy is for the new server to shadow the trainer. For them to learn the ropes. They usually come around and tell the customers this is....so and so..and they will be training tonite. Nope. Not like that at all. She introduced herself, and the lack of service began. I don't want to draw this out, but come on ppl....show some class and at least act like you guys have a clue!!!!! We were there for almost 2 hours!!!!! I kid you not. A 3 top....., 2 for $20...with boneless wings and another order. Yes. Almost 2 hours later we finally checked out. I just don't get it. This location about a year and a half ago used to be so fun to go to. The servers rembrd you and were attentive. ...now they can really care less. And the food!!! Literally in the past 3 weeks we've gone, they haven't had what I normally order. (Lemon grilled chicken with the quinoa/rice )...tonite it came out smaller than ever....the rice they gave me extended past my little chicken breast maybe an inch. So cheap. It isn't even all quinoa. But mostly rice. Whatver. I'm just so done. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to wait tables. But with the staff they have here now.....apparently it does. And I'm writing corporate about them. We won't be back. I though it was strange the place was slow for a Friday night. We quickly realized the service and food quality has declined significantly from past visits. There seems to be a lack of training and proper oversight by management. The French Onion soup was hastily made and then sat for too long before being brought out. The house salad was smaller than what it used to be. We ordered wine and were brought tall glasses without specifically asking for them. The bill and to-go boxes were brought to us before we were finished eating. Upon picking up the check we were asked if we wanted to order dessert. It was an odd experience. read more

Applebee's always has a nice selection and a variety of items to choose from. As a "Whachamacallit" (as my boyfriend would say) they're pretty good at delivering all food items but a master of none. Same goes at this location. Food just fine. Service, however, is lacking. On a very slow afternoon during August with maybe a handful of other people in the restaurant with us... It took our waiter exponentially longer to tend to us than it should've. Let's face it: even if the food is delectable, if I receive crappy service it weighs heavy on my review. We got to Applebee's at 9:35. It took the server ten minutes to get to our table. She only had three tables in her section. We ordered drinks and food at the same time since it took so long for her to come to us. After waiting 15 minutes for the drinks my friend went to the bar to get them because we were very thirsty. The serve came back to the table with one of our drinks and said, "oh wow okay." She slammed the drink down at the table across from us. I'm guessing she was upset we went and got them. Her hormonal childish response really set the tone for the remainder of the visit. She then began gossiping at the bar with the the bar tender and they were giving us dirty looks. The manager, and I'm sincerely hoping she's only a shift supervisor and not a general manager, went over to them and was talking. After a couple minutes she came over to us and said she would pay for the drinks because we waited so long. We told her that was not necessary and we would just like to pay for food and service and be on our way. She became rude and confrontational and asked us very impolitely what we need then, because she would be taking over our table. I told her that her waitresses were making it very apparent to make us feel unwelcomed and we would be leaving. The "manager's name was Margee Baker and the server was Tera. If this is who you employ to represent your brand at your restaurants and the way you choose to conduct business we have no interest in ever visiting an Applebee's again.
