This is my favorite brunch place, the Bloody Mary is incredible and has enough veggies that I tell myself it's a salad and not a cocktail! I love that I can get gluten free pancakes instead of bread with my omelet and the city grits are to die for. I like that the menu is unique and has things I can't make at home. read more

Good food, not impressive though. I didn't mind the a la carte add ons, but was a bit disappointed to pay $3 for a teaspoon of diced strawberries for my pancakes. All in all not bad, but we won't be returning. Sorry, really wanted to like this one. We did enjoy the outdoor seating area! read more

I have been to ABEC several times as I live in the area and the food is consistently good! The atmosphere is cute and they have an outdoor seating area which is always a fun option when attending brunch on Sundays! My reason for a 4/5 review is that the food is too salty for my taste. I learned this pretty early on and now I know how to order to combat this issue! (No seasoning or seasonings on the side) Definitely give this place a try, but if you are salt sensitive keep that in mind when ordering. read more

So good! We don't go often because the line is always out the door and the wait very long. But once you get in the food is delicious! They have a lot of customizable options and choices. They particularly have good seafood and southern/New Orleans style food like beignets. The last time we went we tried one of their Sunday brunch mixers, and now we want to go back to drink. The mimosas looks amazing. read more

Line was long, however if you booked with yelp a day ahead you will be on the book and don't have to wait as long.

I have been here several times, and never had I met someone so rude at this place. Ohh and the pancakes were raw. ..... only after charging an extra $1 for avocados, lady told me they were out of avocados... she did not apologize. read more

Eat here frequently and the food is always fresh and service is always great! We like the breakfast menu, especially the egg dishes. And so does everyone else since there is always a crowd! read more

I've been to the Southside location and Beach location. The food is marvelous. The beignets with the orange marmalade is mouthwatering, the fried green tomatoes with crab cakes are so delicious, and the omelets are too great to choose just one. My favorite one to get is the Stan's Mardi Gras omelet, which has crawfish, shrimp and andouille sausage. The Apple pie mimosa was interesting too. I guess I was expecting more sweet than savory, but it was delicious nonetheless. read more

Worst experience ever at a restaurant! I didn't expect your employees to discriminate between customers! We are never going back again! We joined the wait list on yelp yesterday, and were asked to be there at 11:34 am. I arrived with my family on time, and when we checked in, they told us to wait 10-15 minutes. 30 minutes later, I asked politely if our table is ready, and the woman at the check-in desk (she is always at the front desk, best describe her as middle-aged with small figure, was told her name is Rihama!) was very dismissive! She said we need to wait 10 more minutes, and we did, then she send us a text saying our table is ready, so we stepped in the restaurant, but the worst happened when she offered our table to a guy she was being very friendly with, who checked in way after we did! so she had us wait another 10 minutes or so at the check in desk even after saying our table was ready !!! Once we got a table, we were already fed up with this whole thing and left shortly afterwards! Me and my family used to be frequent customers, but we are never going back again! read more

The food was amazing, service was great, and had a pitcher of mango kiwi mimosas that made the whole experience extra fun (; They are great with substitutions and although the wait was long it's worth it using the waitlist app. read more

Dominique at the bar was excellent! She was helpful and has a wonderful personality! Makes a great Bloody Mary, too. Her suggestion of the Oh Lucy omelette was spot on. Upgrade to the City Grits. Would definitely recommend stopping in here. Worth the wait! Use Yelp waitlist read more

I've gone to the Southside location and every time I go there the food is amazing. I love there shrimp and grits. My husband loves there eggs Benedict. I had brunch with my mother too and we had mimosas which were amazing. I definitely suggest eating outside. read more

Terrible service. Waited over 40 minutes for our meals (I ordered the Spinach, Quinoa and Chicken salad) only to be told it is being plated, then the server comes back to say he never entered our order and we'd have to wait 10 minutes for the food (stated we'd get a 50% off discount). 15 minutes later still no food, so we walked out only to here out server Alex say "Yeah, ghat sucks". I was really craving the salad but I won't return to this location. Maybe one day I'll try this cafe again. read more

I had the classic biscuits and gravy, my husband had the hey Lucy and it was absolutely delicious! We both ate every bite of our food!

Love this place, delicious food and great service. Can't wait for the one near my house to open.

Set outside waited for seats, I sent my husband inside to check on the seats the manager and front host looks lost and tells us they close at 2 even though we we're already on the list. Then try to convience us to take it to go. Mind you we waited over 20 mins already. Horrible read more

Today was my first visit ever and I was blown away. The waitress was great, the food was great, the atmosphere was great! Would definitely come back anytime I'm in the Jacksonville area. I had the crab cake cavallo and it was amazing. Eggs cooked perfect and the home fries were awesome! Defiantly check it out for breakfast! read more

Good food. Good service. Has something for everyone. Nice outdoor sitting area too. I'd go back

This cafe was just phenomenal from the accommodating service to the exceptional food. I would highly recommend Another Broken Egg Cafe to anyone in the area. They were so conscious of our timeliness to get to the Bucs Jags game we couldn't have been better treated. Go Bucs ! read more

Booked a table for 9 people at 11 am and didn't get seated until 1 pm. Ordered food at 1:15 and didn't get served until an hour later. Not sure what the issue is but the restaurant closes at 2 pm and nobody in our group got served until 2:20. 10/10 would never recommend read more

My boyfriend and I ate here for brunch. Id prefer to get the outside sitting if the weather is really nice. I ordered a latte for a drink and Oscar Benedict [steak and crab] and my boyfriend ordered the salmon Benedict and cinnamon roll french toast. We came on a Monday and surprised how busy they get. We literally waited an hour for our food to come out. It came to the point when we were thinking of walking out and going to a different restaurant. I was pretty disappointed at the waitress that we had since she didn't even give us an update about food or at least explain why it was taking this long to come out. When we finally got our food, it was not as hot as we expected it to be. The salmon Benedict was good but I feel like the Oscar Benedict could have cooked better. The steak was bland, the crab was not over powering that it seemed like it was just a part of the sauce. I just expected it to be more flavorful. The cinnamon French toast was okay. Could be better but by the time we ate it, it was already a little soggy so my bf was pretty disappointed about that. The waitress seemed nice and she did check on us if we were doing okay after we got our food and she gave us a military discount. I'm assuming because she felt bad about how much we waited for our food. I'm rating this a 3 star just because I strongly feel that a customer should only wait 15-20 minutes for her food to come out. No matter how busy they may seem to be, an hour is a long time to wait for your food especially when you're hungry. read more

Best omelet I've ever had in my life. I will be back as soon as possible. The Floridian is to die for, may be better than sex.

Another broken egg gone bad. The restaurant is nice looking, however the food was pretty gross. There was a 40 min wait so we sat at the bar. Grateful to have a seat, we looked over the menu. The staff had good things to say about the food. We chose the lobster omelet, fried green tomatoes, and biscuits with gravy. The food and app arrived at the same time, and my guess is because they forgot about it. It was burnt. Burnt green tomatoes. The English muffin with the omelet was floppy and tasteless. The omelet wasn't bad. The biscuit and gravy seemed like something you'd buy and mix at home. There's just no creativity. The bartender looked frustrated, and after tasting the food we vowed not to come back. It isn't a cheap breakfast place either. The bill was almost $50. read more

Friendly service, food quality was excellent. Family friendly, reasonably priced too. I had the southwest scrambler which I thoroughly enjoyed: fresh guacamole, fresh scrambled eggs, well seasoned potatoes... all worked well together. read more

Came here a couple of times and the last time I went the kitchen was backed up and our order took about 40 minutes to come out. We were in a rush to get to work so we pretty much inhaled our food, not the best experience. But other than that, it's a solid place read more

Enjoyed a great brunch here. They have tons of great options for breakfast and lunch foods, even during the weekdays. I had the New Orleans omelette topped with a delicious tomato hollandaise and filled with crawfish shrimp and andouille. Try the Mediterranean potatoes and the city grits. Delish! He had the biscuits and gravy with the homemade sausage. Equally as good. Also, the house Bloody Mary was amazing. House infused pepper vodka, perfectly spicy and dressed with okra, celery, lime and carrot. Will definitely be back to try some of the other amazing things in their menu. Super cute NoLa atmosphere. Service was great as well. Randyl was a sweetheart. Thanks for a lovely meal Broken Egg!! read more

A nice breakfast/brunch place for the weekend. The omelets are the best, specially the Floridian . Make sure you make your reservation by usin the app NoWait upfront so that you do not have to wait for a hour or so and ask for table outside if the weather permits read more

The food was amazing but the wait was awful. The person greeting also became the busboy clearing out the tables. Idk if they're understaffed or there were just an influx of people this Saturday. We waited 20 mins just to get our water and coffee, and we couldn't even order until those arrived. read more

Thanks Nichole for making a horrible experience better! It took a really long time for a basic order but you and your front line staff did amazing at handling everything read more

A quite breakfast for two. The atmosphere was inviting. We prefferred patio seating due to nice weather. Our server was friendly and informative. My wife had the "Popyes delight" (spinach, eggs, and bacon) and I had shrimp and grits. The portions were good and we walked away satisfied. The cute mugs that they sell will be a nice addition to our collection. read more

I love this place. Great food & atmosphere. I highly recommend it. It can accommodate large parties anytime of day.

Horrible service!! Got food before drinks. Drinks were inaccurate and waitress argued that it was correct.... to find out we were right... never an apology. Asked to wipe down sticky table 3 times... was brought checks when we still wanted to order additional drinks... moved to the bar afterward. Food was awesome as always!! read more

One year later I find myself in Jax and have to revisit. Still great. Had the Supreme omelet, very good, Lucy Lucy a little better due to the layers of flavor. Staff friendly and professional....a must stop for breakfast read more

Another Broken Egg was suggested to me by a friend. By looking at the menu alone I was in love! The strawberry mimosa was as if I made it at home myself! They weren't stingy with the bubbly. I ordered the lobster and cream cheese omelette topped with diced tomatoes and green onions. It was full of flavor and so were the home fries. The shrimp and grits were Perfection! It has a spicy kick, but so full of flavor! This restaurant surpassed my expectation! They maybe known for signature items, but there's something much more wonderful selections to choose from! This is a 10 across the board. Only take back I called to make a reservation, and was told I had to do it from the app. Once getting there it wasn't told to us it was a shorter wait if we wanted to sit outside vs inside. It was worth the wait though. read more

Here's a thought, you have a ton of people waiting for a table, and yet you have people sitting at tables still waiting for others in their group. Don't sit them until everyone is there and you might actually flip some tables. It's not fair for the people waiting and it's really not fair to your wait staff who have people clogging tables when they can be making money. read more

Don't go on Sunday, don't even try to carry out on a Sunday they will get your order wrong. I would like to say this only happened once but it has happened 3 times. Party of 6 with pup in tow looking for brunch. Chose this site as it is dog-friendly on the patio. First 3 of the party arrived at 1050am and promptly put our name on the wait list outside because we had pup in tow. Last 3 of party arrived at 11am. Sat outside patio waiting to be seated. Saw numerous outside tables that were empty and a perfect two table that could have been moved together in the smaller (3 tables only) patio. The staff promptly sat a party of three (2 adults and 1 child) that arrived well after we arrived at one of the two tables and then sat a 2 top at the other table (which accommodated a 4 top). Gentleman that originally put us on the wait list went inside at approximately 1132am to check on how much longer our wait may be. The woman at the hostess stand stated that he was quoted an hour wait and that it only had been 32 minutes. When he stated that he put us on the list at 1050am she continued to argue with him that it was 11am and not 1050am. He then asked then that does that mean we only have another 25 minutes or so to wait. She said that he could come back to check in 25 minutes. I being in the business for 30 years in various capacities from server, hostess, manager have never and would never allow an employee to address a client in this manner. This being our first time and most likely the last time coming into this establishment waited close to 1.5 hours to be seated, we were finally seated at 1220pm. We hoped beyond hope that the food would knock our socks off and to are disappointed, it really did not. The one and only high point of this visit was the service was on point. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone since it appears that the hostess/host staff are allowed to argue with clients and basically disrespect them. Shame on the management for not training the first face of the establishment to not be trained properly in customer service. Hopefully you will provide adequate training to your employees as to how to treat clientele since establishments of this nature depend on repeat business and recommendations. read more
