I picked Tequilas D Oro for lunch recently. My son and daughter-in-law had never been, and I'd been telling them about it for a while. As always, a beautiful restaurant. It's always clean, festive and has a ton of seating depending on what you're in the mood to do. There are typical booths, a bar, secluded areas along with indoor and outdoor seating. Really nice, festive Mexican decor everywhere. Our server as with all of them was stellar. Friendly, attentive, he truly cared that we had a great experience and he helped make it great. I ordered the lunch chimichanga and it was still the size of most dinner platters. It was delicious along with the rice and beans that came on this side. The guacamole was amazing as well. There is also a salsa bar where you can get any level of heat. All of them are great. Tequilas is one of two Mexican restaurants I frequent and they are excellent. If you want some great Mexican food and a great dining experience, it's a must. I highly recommend Tequilas D Oro.
Tequilas D Oro was a bit of a mixed bag. The Restaurant is huge, with decor and ambiance that could host a large celebration but was barely seating 5 parties on a Holiday before a USA World Cup game. Upon being shown to our booth, the floor by the table we were seated at was extremely slippery. At first I thought it was due to a fresh mopping and they had just forgotten a sign, but it stayed extremely hard to navigate the entire meal. Let's get into the highlights: some of the freshest table side guacamole I've ever had. Made right in front of you and you get a ton for what you pay for. My lunch portion of my Yucatán Quesadilla was only $9.99 as it was a Friday and it was just okay. Unfortunately, I did have to cut it myself. The "small" margarita for $12.99 is absolutely gigantic. In fact, every drink I saw come out was of ginormous proportion and seems to be the main draw here. Unfortunately, I was a bit let down by both the salsa, as even though there was a full bar, none of the options were all that tasty. The biggest detractor was honestly the service. Our server was extremely nice on the surface, but every opportunity was used to upsell by every member of the staff. A bigger drink, another appetizer, another drink, handing us their card and asking for a review following paying. I normally never have issue with this but it became overwhelming at a certain point. This restaurant absolutely feels like it has potential, but might suffocate over its mistakes in an extremely crowded Town Center/Southside Market.
They venue itself stands out. Normally in Florida I will actively avoid sitting outside but here the patio is actually an appealing option. The inside has an equal amount of effort put into it. The service is great. They have a team that actively refills drinks and chips. Guacomole is prepared fresh at the table. The food also comes out quickly. All the appetizers as well as the chips, queso dip, bean dip, guacamole and drinks stood out. The entire table was immediately wowed. Sadly the entrees fell shor from everuobet; the shrimp was overcooked, the chicken and steak was unremarkable. If the entrees had matched every other part of the experience this would almost be the perfect Mexican restaurant.
Our party of 6 came in and the place was steady busy. World Cup was playing and TV volume was on 11 but it didn't seem to be on everyone's mind. Regardless, the volume with all the hard surfaces made it a little challenging to have any conversation. We started with the house chips and bean dip, grabbed various salsas from the bar and those were mid at best. The salsas could definitely use an improvement - the idea is appreciated but execution felt like poured out of a Sysco gallon bucket. The queso was good and the table side guacamole was fantastic. There wasn't any kind of presentation or "show" but flavor and texture was excellent. I would not eat here and skip that guacamole - it's a must have. We opted for 2 pitchers of margaritas - gold and prickly pear. Gold was a heavy pour and prickly pear was a fave around the table. My battered fish tacos were great - substantial piece of fish and solid execution. Ground beef entrees around the table were not rated well so I would not recommend - bland. I mean, I'd rarely order ground beef personally if I'm out eating Mexican anyway. Service was spot on - the team effort was consistent and they all did a great job - personable and attentive. I don't know what we did to deserve flaming tequila shots after our meal but it was a nice surprise.
Food was ok, drinks were strong, service was great, was not a fan of the salsa. They have a salsa bar and their regular salsa was not great. The salsa is kind of a deal breaker for me. Their chips, guacamole and queso dip were great, but the salsa was not. Everyone at the table enjoyed their entrees, but the ground beef needed more seasoning. Would love to see them change their salsa recipe.
Service was great and all food was delish. Not one thing was questionable. We had so many options and they were very plentiful and tasty. We had the queso flameado, the birria ramen, the flautas , and the shrimp cocktail. They have a salsa bar to complement all the items. And seasoning is on point in all of them. For dessert we had the choco-flan and it was well executed and tasty made in house. Margaritas were good and fresh and huge. Try the passion fruit so good.
After a day of volunteering, my friend and I was famished. Using the power of Yelp, Tequilas D Oro was our choice. And what a great choice it was. The interior is spacious, fun and modern. We were quickly seated and started with chips and dip. I say dip because it wasn't salsa, seemed like runny refried beans. Wasn't bad, just unexpected. The food was above average, but the drinks were the star of the show. My friend got the coco loco which is two drinks in one. I got the margaritas sampler. The presentation was so cute and fun. Definitely try this place for fun food and a great drinks.
Yummy!!!! We had everything from nachos to churros and everything was scrumptious. I can honestly say I have never had a coconut margarita but it was tasty. (Think pina coladaish) The nachos were cheesy and on point. The Alambre Mediterraneo was spectacular and my chicken poblano was super delicious. If you get a chance try the table side guacamole, I didn't get a picture because we devoured it but it was definitely one of the best I've had.
I'll admit upfront--I'm tough on Mexican restaurants. I've spent a lot of time in Mexico and eaten well outside the typical U.S. version, so my expectations are probably a little unfair. Started with the peach margarita. I mean... look at it. Absolute showstopper--salted rim, fruit garnish, umbrella, the whole production. But taste-wise? It's a 3 out of 5. Not bad, just missing that punch you expect when it looks that good. Chips came out warm, lightly salted, and honestly--really solid. That's how you start a meal right. The salsa though... wasn't really salsa at all. More like a pleasant surprise that turned into a disappointment on flavor. It tasted like spiced bean water--thin, warm, and just never quite delivered. Not offensive, just nothing to grab onto. Then came the "slopchos." And I'll give credit--these are actually delicious. Great toppings, good flavor, you can see the effort. But here's the issue--nachos are supposed to be eaten with chips, not a fork. The second I need utensils, we've lost the plot. There's a full layer of beans underneath that turns the whole thing into a race against time. Five minutes in and you're not eating nachos anymore--you're managing them. Eat fast or accept your fate. I'll always order a classic crunchy ground beef taco, because sometimes you just want that full-on American version--hard shell, ground beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese. Boom. This delivered exactly what it's supposed to. Cheese enchilada was... fine. Nothing offensive, nothing memorable. It leaned a little too close to that mild, almost Taco Bell-style sauce. Cheese was okay, just didn't elevate anything. Service, though, was a bright spot. Bartender was attentive, brought water with the oversized margarita (smart move), and people kept checking in. This was at 4:30--not exactly peak hours--so that stood out. Overall, this place wins on presentation but plays it safe on flavor. There are definitely things worth ordering, but if you're chasing bold, authentic Mexican flavors, you might leave wanting more. If you go in expecting solid, American-style Mexican food with a few highlights, you'll be happy. Just don't let the visuals fool you into expecting more than what shows up on the plate.
Last minute girls night out on a weekday! We needed a place to go and I wanted a good drink. Yelp brought up this place and we decided to check it out. The building is big and beautiful both inside and out. Its kind of hidden but once you know its there you will never forget! The food and drinks were amazing and I can't wait to go back for another visit! We order the margaritas flight but instead of frozen we asked for it to be on the rocks. When you order it this way, you dont get as many flavors though. We also ordered two additional small margaritas that didn't come to the table looking very small. The drinks were made with fresh fruit so they will have pulp in it but we all enjoyed the drinks. There was a live band playing in the restaurant for the night. They came to the table and sang whatever "mood" of song you wanted. They did a great job so we gave a tip. The server was very knowledgeable and helpful when asked for recommendations. Everyone was quick to assist and friendly. The food and drinks came out quick as well. We ordered shrimp enchiladas, the breaded fish tacos and the shrimp tacos. I loved the breaded fish tacos. The corn and the beans that came on the side had lots of flavor which was really unusual for me. I'm use to most places having bland sides that only taste good when accompanied by the entree. The rice and the beans were so good they could have been served alone and I would have eaten them by themselves! There were three fish tacos and I was almost full after the first one but after drinking more tequila I knew I needed to at least finish one more. This place is another hidden gem that will be added to our list. Looking forward to my next visit!
Absolutely phenomenal service, outstanding fresh food, and brand new ambiance! What a wonderful experience! As soon as you walk through the door, the staff greet you with smiles. The menu is very large and they have a little bit for everyone. The prices are good for the amount of food received. The quality is phenomenal and with every bit you can taste fresh ingredients. They offer happy hour from 3-5pm Monday through Friday. I did want to mention our server Marlon was great and explained everything with such detail and gave great recommendations. Highly recommend to anyone to come visit Tequilas D Oro! ^.^ We will definitely be back soon.
I really am glad to jump on the bandwagon here and say that this place is AWESOME! From the moment I stepped through the door everyone was super welcoming and extremely pleasant. We were initially seated next to a large group but I decided to ask about the bar and I'm so glad that I did. Once at the bar I was greeted by not one but two awesome bartenders who made me feel like I had the entire restaurant to myself haha. Extremely enjoyable. Now I will say their menu is HUGE!!! So if you happen to struggle with deciding what to order like I do then get something off of every other page! Lol I had the pleasure of having Omar be my main bartender and waiter for the afternoon and he was fantastic. He suggested drinks to try and they were spot on. I ordered the Molcajete, the Coco Loco and the trip fajitas as well. 10/10!!!
Night out with friends and had been on the list. Kicked off with table side guacamole, chips that came with beans. And a salsa bar with some great options. Margaritas- mango, regular, coconut. We ordered mediums and they were super sized. While the size and toppings was a lot, but it was fun and they tasted good. Loved the coconut. Very delicious. We also ordered the esquite (corn dip) which was one of the best I tried. All of us landed on the birria tacos. Savory, lots of meat, served with beans and rice. You get three so naturally some came home. Good vibe as well with both inside and outside seating as well as good service. Will be back and try other options outside of tacos. The menu has a lot, probably best to look in advance.

There is very little not to love about Tequila's D'Oro. The restaurant has a great vibe, the service is excellent, and most of the food is fantastic. The space is a good size, with plenty of TVs for watching sports. I can only imagine how packed and lively it must get on a big fall football Saturday. We started our meal with the Fresh Table Golden Guac, ordered "all the way." It included tomatoes, onions, fresh cilantro, jalapeño, sea salt, freshly squeezed lime, and, of course, freshly peeled avocado. This is a simple dish, but it delivers a not-so-simple flavor. The jalapeño adds heat, the onion brings savory depth, and the cilantro and lime give it a bright, fresh finish. Trust me, you do not want to miss this starter. My wife ordered the fish tacos, which came with three white fish tacos on flour tortillas topped with cabbage, pico de gallo, and avocado. They were served with rice and black beans. These were some of the best fish tacos we have ever enjoyed. The pieces of fish were large, perfectly fried, and had just the right amount of breading. My wife also really liked mixing the rice and black beans together. Unfortunately, I ordered the Tacos de Borrego: three slow-simmered lamb tacos with onions and what I believe were parsley sprigs. This dish really missed the mark. The lamb was very dry, which made it seem significantly overcooked. On top of that, two of my tacos had large chunks of bone in them. The dish was served with Arroz Amarillo (yellow rice), refried beans and cheese. Normally, I would have taken at least one star off for a dish like this, but we loved the restaurant and the other two dishes so much that I could not do it. I would go back in a heartbeat. read more

I came here for a quick lunch. The servers attentive and quick. Although I did ask for a side of pico for my entree and it never came. The chips and salsa were delivered immediately upon sitting down, but unfortunately it is not a typical salsa. It was more akin to tahini. I didn't find it complemented Mexican food. The tacos were fine. Rather light on the filling and rather dry. It is a big restaurant and the prices reflect high overhead. I would recommend it if you are looking for a large place for drinks with friends. There are better and Find more authentic restaurants than this one. read more

Joined some friends here for lunch and had a great meal. The food is so fresh. They have a salsa bar and they make the guacamole fresh at the table. I had the American tacos and they were delicious as was the rice and beans. I especially liked the rice. We finished with the churros which were like donuts and were the best churros I have ever had. The service was great and there is plenty of seating. I will definitely be back. read more
First of all, let me say the aesthetic of this place is wonderful. Beautiful inside and out. My favorite part has to be the fresh salsa bar that allows you to pick and choose which salsas you want and also has pickled jalapeño. And let me not forget the table side guacamole! Amazing presentation and loaded to the max! I ordered the veggie California burrito sans rice and beans. It has Mexican mashed potatoes in it and the portion size is huge! The burrito was so flavorful and smothered in queso. Bonus points for them having AMAZING HORCHATA!! This is a big deal for me lol! Our server Paulino was also great, continuous check ins to make sure we were good and very pleasant! read more

The food was very flavorful!! I got the three layer burrito and it was amazing and felt authentic. The table side guacamole was to die for and the salsas were very good. The margarita was humongous lol but it was very good and had good heat to it. Will def come back here again to get the food and the staff was very friendly and the ambiance was nice. read more
I decided to try this Mexican restaurants since I've never been before. When I arrive I really like the way it looked outside the building was really nice and the sign was cute also. Inside was decorated nice they have a large bar. The server was very nice and friendly. When they brought out the chips with the bean dip and nose pasta I was a little bit surprised but then I was quickly told that they have a whole station with different salsas and I was so excited about that. I love different types of salsas. They had different flavor flavors and spice levels it was amazing I love that!! the food was pretty good I ordered the chicken enchiladas. Food is good for the price. We got asaed tacos and veggie chimichangas (asked for no queso and no sour cream). Tacos are good quality but lack a bit of flavor; veggie chimichanga was good with big portion size (only able to eat half). Drinks are delicious especially for the price. We got frozen and house margarita and only $8 each. Again, portion size for the drink is big too, they also come with cute little umbrellas! The server was friendly, doesn't speak English super fluently but she asked questions to make sure she got the orders correct. read more
This place is massive! Came here for lunch and was greeted warmly by their staff. They have a cart for guacamole that they will make in front of you, however we opted out on that as my husband is not a fan. They brought out complimentary chips, not with salsa as you'd expect but with a smooth, blended bean dip. I got some salsa from their salsa bar, which was nice! We ordered the following: Birria Tacos - it came with beans, rice, and of course the consommé. Great flavor but it would be better if the tortillas were crispier. Menudo - if a restaurant has this in their menu, then I would absolutely order it! Theirs came more with pork feet and tripe. It was good, but I still prefer the one at our usual local spot. If you love Mexican food, you need the check out the new TDO! I dined here recently in a party of nine & everyone was happy with the meal. The chips are served with a bean dip because they have a salsa bar with multiple options to choose from. A word of caution - if you don't specify the size of margarita you want, you will receive a "medium" which is big! I placed my water glass next to it for comparison. I love guava so I was excited to have a guava margarita, but I have to admit it wasn't what I was expecting. I realized that is because I'm used to sweetened guava paste whereas this was made with fresh guava including seeds. It was tasty & I finished it but I'll try another flavor next time. And it will be hard to choose from the extensive list of margaritas they offer! We ordered two orders of guacamole which is prepared table-side. I love avocado but unfortunately have an allergic reaction to it thanks to oral allergy syndrome. I did enjoy just one bite & it was very good. For my entree, I went with Enchiladas Tricolor / 3 ground beef (my selection) or shredded chicken enchiladas, topped with green sauce, queso dip, and red sauce, served with rice and Bandera salad (lettuce, pico de gallo. guacamole, and sour cream). It was delicious and a hearty portion that allowed me to take half home as leftovers. read more
I stopped in with some friends for the first time. They ordered a couple different margaritas which were pretty large and included fresh fruit!! All of us ordered different types of tacos and we took advantage of their salsa bar too! The Salsa bar is primo, offering everything from mild to spicy, smooth to chunky, and even some sliced peppers! My brisket tacos were really yummy and they came with beans and rice which was a good value for dinner! The service was quick and very friendly. One of my friends needed a to-go box and it was like we summoned him with our thoughts and the waiter magically arrived. I really like that they have a well lit patio, an open bar, and multiple table options to accommodate for basically any outing or group size. I will definitely be back! Highly recommend. read more

Fun, vibrant atmosphere! It was kind of quiet in there for a Friday evening, but all of the staff looked happy and willing to be there. My friends and I were there for a birthday dinner. We ordered the table side, guacamole, drinks, and main entrées. Everything was fast, fresh, and made the way it was requested. They did not skimp on anything, including the margaritas! Flavors were spot on and nothing was overcooked. I had the fajitas nachos, and it was great! One thing I thought was a little odd was they did not serve salsa with the chips... But they did have a salsa bar so it was available if you wanted it. I did not personally try the bean dip, but the others said it was great. read more

Tequilas d'Oro is a fun spot! The guacamole was absolutely delicious, love that they come right to the table and make it fresh. The tacos were good (I've definitely had better elsewhere, but still enjoyable). I didn't realize until afterward that there's a salsa bar, so next time I'll know to grab my own condiments to spice things up. The adult drinks were the highlight! We tried the (small) pineapple margarita, coconut margarita, spicy Mexican, and mango mojito; all fresh and flavorful. While we were eating, we saw a few birthdays being celebrated and it was so cute! The staff came out with a tambourine, shots, and sang Happy Birthday!Definitely making a mental note to come back here for my birthday. We went to Tequilas D'Oro for 5 de Mayo and we loved it! We got there before 6pm and there was a big line however they had outdoor seating for a Tacos only menu with no line at all. Sadly because it was super busy we couldn't get any dessert :( but we will go back for it! The tacos were delicious and their skinny margaritas were perfect. They had a Mariachi/ karaoke who was really good and talented and made the ambiance of the place very pleasant read more

One of my new favorite Mexican places! WOW! Evrerything was great. We went on a Tuesday night (Taco Tuesday of course, but no tacos for us that night). We were treated so well. What we loved: * Table side guacamole about 2 in minutes after we arrived. Perfect! Very traditional and just right. * Service - everyone was so nice. Not only our waiter checked on us but other staff members stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. * I had the Burrito de Birria. I'm picky about birria. This was no disappointment. The meat was extremely tender and the flavor was great. And the size - it was probably 14" in length. * My friend had the Guanajuato burrito. It was full of steak and enough to share if you wanted to try. * Atmosphere - they had a Mexican singer while we were there and he had a great voice. They have plenty of seating inside and outside. We can't wait until the weather is nice enough to sit outside. * Salsa bar - you get a salsa with your chips, but there is an awesome salsa bar with at least six different types. What we hated: * We could not try more dishes! We were so full and took home half of our dishes for lunch the next day. I can't wait for our next visit and look forward to trying more items on the menu. I'm not even sure they have Taco Tuesday but we didn't care. read more

5 stars across the board! Good food and good cocktails. Oh and of course good service too. They offer a salsa bar! When you sit down you're greeted with chips and a bean dip. You can select a variety of salsa for your chips as well. They have TV's around the bar. Music playing. Indoor/outdoor seating. Patrons are in a good mood as well. Most meal selections can be shared. I had leftovers that I ate twice the next day. Definitely coming back! read more

After reading so many reviews I knew I had to check this place out! Wow Wow Wow is it big and beautiful. I was in the area after a long work day and stopped in. Having a long work day and no lunch! Snack time before dinner time! Marlon was the bartender he set me up with a big ole Dos Amber and 2 crunchy tacos. I was greeted with chips and salsa. Not your regular salsa but a creamy substitution. It was delicious. The restaurant is BIG and beautiful. Looking forward to going back and trying more of their menu! The staff is awesome!! read more

Double date with hubby and some friends! This restaurant came highly recommended and it didn't disappoint. The server and staff was very attentive. They have fresh guacamole that is served and made at your table. They also have queso that is prepared right in front of you with flame. A margarita sampler with various options to choose from as well! There were so many entre options and the tacos were phenomenal. Can't wait to go back and have dinner again! read more

First time at Tequilas D Oro. It's a really large and nicely decorated Mexican restaurant, with clean tables and lots of TV's. I believe there is also an outside dining area. I came with a friend for lunch. We were quickly seated and our drink orders were taken by our server Rick. We were given complimentary chips and a bean dip to munch on while we were looking over the menu. We were also told they had a salsa bar!!! They offer lots of different sauces and a variety of salsas. My friend ordered the Chili Rellenos and I got the Pollo Acapulco. Our food was delicious. I especially liked the whole pinto beans served with my meal. Israel the manager stopped by to check on our meal and welcomed us as first time visitors. We told him Rick did a great job as our server and we were happy with our experience. There are so many Mexican restaurants in the area but if you haven't been here you should give it a try! read more

The place feels dirty and run down. The food was just OK. Nothing really special. Not a lot of flavor in it. You do not get a salsa just a bowl of refried beans that are not very tasty. At least that's what we were served. read more
Always on the hunt for good margs and fajitas, we checked it out last night. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere is fancy casual - welcoming to families and groups but nice enough for a date night too. Now about dinner: fajitas for 2 is feeding us again for lunch!! The tortillas were hot and fresh (corn and flour, both). The grilled veggies included squash with the onions and bell peppers (nice touch!). The accompaniment platters of beans, rice, pico (YUM), guacamole and sour cream were plentiful. And the salsa bar offers seven different flavors to try (bigger bowls would be nice since the chips don't fit into the 2oz cups). Overall, wow! And the drinks?? WOW!! The medium house marg is HUGE, and really tasty (and strong). My husband preferred mine on the rocks to his frozen, and they offer so many flavors too! Our server, Joshua, was top-notch! He answered questions, accommodated special needs, was prompt, polite, and I would request his section again. Definitely made our evening enjoyable with his great service. Went here for a date night with my wife and overall had a great time. I ordered the classic chicken tacos -- they were good, not amazing, but to be fair I didn't realize they had a salsa bar. That's on me, so I'll definitely be back to give them another try with the full experience. The table-side guacamole was hands down a 10/10 -- fresh, flavorful, and fun to watch being made. Drinks were another highlight. We tried the coconut, pineapple, cucumber margaritas, a mango mojito, and even an old fashioned. All of them were tasty and unique. While we were there, a couple birthdays were being celebrated, and the vibe was a lot of fun. The staff brought out tambourines, sang happy birthday, and did celebratory shots with the tables. All in all, it's a lively spot with great drinks, excellent guacamole, and a fun atmosphere. I'd recommend it for date night, birthdays, or just a night out, and I'll definitely be going back read more
Huge restaurant! So much space inside as well as outside patio so you could definitely go with a big party( there was a celebration going on for about 10-15 people) Interesting concept with a salsa bar which was cool to try a lot of different flavors! Service was friendly and fast! read more
