I have had this place bookmarked for EVER..but Im a night shifter, and I dont often get up in time for breakfast..well i was on vacation from work and i woke up nice and early and wanted a bloody mary in a large way..so off i went..i will say that the plaza that its in is super confusing and hard to navigate, and the parking lot is super tight..but oh well..i walked in and was greeted warmly by the hostess and taken right to a table and set up with a menu...my server came over in no time and when i tell you she was nice, that doesnt even touch it..she was attentive, made jokes with me, and my water was filled each time it got even a little low..i wanted all of the foods, so i actually ordered waaaay more than what i needed, but it was oh so good..i got the bloody mary, which was the perfect amount of spice and looked adorable in a mason jar, and i then went with fried green tomatoes, a mardi gras omlette, that came with grits on the side, and also an order of biscuits and gravy..when it all came out, it looked like there should have been another person dining with me! I wasnt that embarassed tho, cause i love food lol..the omlette was fluffy and FULL of shrimp and sausage and veggies..the fried green toms were crispy and just the right amount of tart flavor was complimented well by the spicy dipping sauce..let me talk to you for a minute about the biscuits and gravy..just perfect! the biscuits werent too heavy and the gravy was thick and creamy and so yum..my side of grits was meh..they seemed like they sat too long, but i wasnt too concerned about it since i had all the other amazing things to eat..i sat and munched, and enjoyed the nice atmosphere..as i mentioned before, Maureen my server was so so nice..she brought me some to go containers, put my water in a to go cup and set me up with my check..i feel that the price point here is really reasonable for the servings and quality..i will be coming back..next time im off and awake in the day time! read more

I'd give a half a star if I could. I've had great luck at other locations but the Tapestry park restaurant has given me a terrible experience twice in a row. At first we made a reservation for the wrong location which was definitely our fault. We made a new reservation with this location. We never checked in with the old location due to us not showing up. We received a text that our table was ready about 10 minutes after arriving at Tapestry park. When we walked inside they argued that we didn't receive a text and the manager was very dismissive of us. Once seated AND ordered, it was almost an hour before our food arrived. Food sat there for 10 minutes before we had silverware to eat it with. The STUFFED French toast we ordered was not stuffed at all, just drizzled with a sauce. They took the French toast off the bill which was nice. And we paid while using 2 entree coupons that I received from my last visit there due to the cluster that was. The last visit included an hour long wait for our food- I ordered a chocolate Belgian waffle. I'm sorry but it doesn't take an hour to make that. Adding insult to injury the food that came out wasn't even right. Just a plain waffle. The manager that time (a different guy, not sure if they have multiple or have made a change) was very nice and apologetic. Took the food off our bill and gave us the meal entrees. I didn't write a review because of how nice it was for them to try and make it right. Well after this last "make it right" visit I can confidently say it's just this location that sucks and I will not be returning. I'll probably advise others to avoid it as well. I was really craving breakfast food and they did not disappoint. Service was really good and friendly. It did take a while for the food to come out. The side potatoes weren't that great without adding some kind of seasoning. The Blackstone Benedict I got was really good though. They easily catered to me being a vegetarian and took the bacon out. This place is always packed. Always! There was a wait outside but for whatever reason, the bar is always available. The waitresses are always friendly. I chose the Crawfish omelette with City grits while he had the Mardi gras omelette with City grits. Bother omelettes are worth every penny. The city grits are hard to ignore, they don't taste like restaurant quality. They taste like home. Wenith had the Strawberry Sparklee which is pretty tasty. Perfect "off the beaten path" restaurant. This place is BUSY... but worth the wait to eat. I checked this spot out with a friend of mine for brunch. The menu is extensive with lots of options to choose from. I decided to have the Monterey Omelette (ingredients listed in the picture). This was EXTRAORDINARILY good!!! It's hard to find a restaurant (outside of New Mexico) that cooks with green chili. The portion size was perfect! Was seated quickly on very nice patio. Quickly and cordially greeted. Then it went downhill. Even though it was breakfast (like lunch, should be served quickly), it took 25+ for our meal. Her grits were lumpy; my potatoes were overcooked and didn't taste good. But the worst was the cold (not lukewarm) lobster/brie omelette. I summoned another waitress who informed ours. It took a long time for the second omelette -- our waitress mentioned "the manager is involved"/what does that even mean? -- to come. Flew in to St. Augustine from SC to drop off passengers and remain over night in S. Jax. Probably should get here early, especially on Saturdays. However, if you have to wait to be seated, it's a good bet that your meal(s) will be worth it. I had the Floridian Omelet and my friend had the Supreme Omelet. Both were uncommonly good. The Floridian omelet's mix of crab, green onions, garlic butter, and jack cheese was PERFECT! The flavors came through well and didn't overpower the tastebuds. I'd like to try it without the cream cheese next time. Probably save a ton of calories and fat and still get those wonderful flavors. Service was very good, especially considering the crowd. Been here about 3 times during the week because it gets really hectic on the weekend. Food was great, service was great but waiting for food took about 40mins. When the server finally made her way to bring our food, she acknowledged the tardiness and apologized for it. However, it would be nice if the server would have let us know the food is taking longer than expected. This would at least keep us updated with our food and acknowledge us. It wasn't busy so I wondered why getting our ticket took another 20 mins. First she printed the wrong ticket. Then it took her another 10mins to bring the correct one. Not impressed especially for the price. Spent over $40 on takeout and the food was cold and awful. For reference I live literally 5min away and I was in the restaurant waiting for it to be done, so there is no way it was just sitting there/took a while to get home. The bacon was way over cooked (and I love well done, crispy bacon), the eggs were bland and tasted like the eggs you get at a hotel buffet, and the potatoes were hard, cold, and stale. I really wanted to love this place, but it just isn't good. Not to mention the staff were incredibly obnoxious and unprofessional. The whole time I was standing there they were cracking jokes and cackling laughing RIGHT next to me in the front of the restaurant. Breakfast eateries are growing more and more popular on weekends in Jacksonville. Another Broken Egg Cafe is located in the Tapestry Park area, which naturally generates a large influx of patrons. I arrived on a Sunday around mid-morning, about 10:30 am, and the line for the wait was practically wrapped around the building. I'm not sure how long the establishment has been in business, but over the past few months I've heard a lot of talk about the restaurant. This is one of those places that might need to start working on reservations - it was THAT packed. I ended up waiting over an hour to be seated for a party of two. While we were waiting to be seated, there were about 3 tables that remained dirty for about 30 to 45 minutes on the patio area before someone came to clean them. When this was brought to the host's attention, they replied with a very dry, "I know," rather than sending someone over to clean them. Someone should be on top of that and ensuring tables are constantly being cleaned and reset so that others can be seated swiftly. There were 2 additional tables along the side of the restaurant that patrons could dine at, however, other guests who were waiting to be seated sat there to avoid standing. I didn't have an opportunity to dine on the inside of the restaurant. We were seated in the uncovered section of the patio without an umbrella which was very hot, as you could imagine. I believe the restaurant should consider extending the awning a little further to provide more shade, especially as the warmer months approach. As far as food and service goes, although the wait to be seated was long, the food arrived promptly. I'm a fan of waffles so I decided on the Belgian Waffle combo with turkey sausage. I must add that I was very pleased with the quality and quantity of healthier options on the menu! The waffle was nice and light and slightly crispy served with powdered sugar. The menu also included fruit topping options for waffles and pancakes. I will return to Another Broken Egg again to try out more menu items and compare wait times on different days of the week. We checked in online through Yelp. When we arrived, they still had 8 parties ahead of us. After waiting over 30 minutes to get in, we were seated. The orange juice is absolutely not fresh squeezed. Then we waited for another 45 minutes for our food to come out. Ridiculous! We did not have anything complicated - just pancakes and an omelette. The pancakes tasted like they had a lot of sugar in them. I am not accustomed to sweet pancakes and would not recommend them. They were heavy like lead and not fluffy at all. I was given one small packet of butter and no syrup. I had to ask for butter and they forgot my scrambled eggs. The grits were flavorless. Our weekends are special to us and our family was incredibly frustrated after spending hours waiting around for mediocre food. I will never visit this place again. read more
