Went on a Friday morning for brunch with a friend who was in town and we were so excited because the menu online looked amazing. When we got there, we waited for a few minutes for someone to finally acknowledge us and sit us. We were finally seated outside. 10-15 minutes easily went by and still no one had come outside to greet us or anything. My friend went inside to let someone know that no one had come to give us any service. Finally, two waitresses came out at the same time. One was absolutely rude and said the reason no one had come to give us service was because they were busy inside. From that comment, she made it seem like the outside seated customers were not a priority as the inside seated customers were. Luckily, the second waitress was the one who took care of us and she was very helpful and attentive. The food and drinks were great but the service in the beginning really made the experience not as enjoyable. read more

The kids plates are tiny and coffee and eggs are terrible. $60 later, the kids left hungry and we walked to the nearby bookstore/ coffee shop for muffins and real coffee. Put ourselves on the wait list on yelp, party of 11. Wait was supposed to be 30 mins. We waited an hour and a half to be seated. The way they handled this was terrible. Broken Egg makes a nice new addition to downtown Fairhope! Make sure to use the no wait app and get seated right away otherwise you might have to wait since this restaurant is new. We have just moved to Fairhope and tried Another Broken Egg the day after moving in. It was pretty full, but we were seated at a table for 2 in the bar area. The bartender took out order and he and the food was great. Best fruit I have ever eaten. Want to know where you get it. Will be going back next week. BTW, people need to understand how hard it is to get people to actually work right now. Many restaurants are closing two days a week to allow the staff and cooks, that are working right now, some off days. read more

For starter, I put my name on the wait list from their website. It originally said 30-45 min. I get there in 30 min check in with the hostess as the website said to do so. The hostess then tells me it is an hour untill we can be seated and hits the check in button. I come back in an hour after I received my text, they can't find my name so I show them a text of proof I was on the list. (Clearly no communication between website and check in) so they seat me after I show the text since they couldn't find me in their system. MIMOSAS were phenomenal which is the only reason for two stars. We order our food. Biscuits and gravy had a pudding like substance, and the eggs were watery,after orders as an over medium. Grits ordered cheesy and all they do is sprinkle some cheese over the top. Salmon Benedict tasted delicious but poached egg was over cooked. Lastly the check ......... I visited July 23rd, on August 5, my card was charged again twice, once for the amount of my charge, and once for a random charge. On Aug 13, there was a pending refund, which then disappeared and I never received. I went with 7 other people. The same thing has happened to everyone in my party. This other guy posted that he visited in June with the same issue. And have since seen others- Seems like a recurring event. Don't give them your credit card. We have all had to cancel ours since we don't know who has our credit card information that they can run later. The restaurant won't answer their phone during business hours. read more

I live in Fairhope and was a regular but I'm done. Went in today with a table for six, they sat two tables for eight with two parties that arrived after us. Apparently they will not sit six at a table for eight in order of first come first served. Waited for one hour and ten minutes after being told it would be a 30 minute wait, I noticed 30 minutes was their standard answer for everyone that walked in the door. There are too many excellent places in Fairhope to eat to settle for poor service and average food. I used to be in the restaurant business, the customers I regretted the most were the ones that left unhappy without a chance to rectify the situation because I knew they would never come back. read more

We were told told that our table would be ready @ 1130. That didn't happen. After waiting an additional hour, they tried to randomly split our group to 2 different tables. We wanted to sit together So, we we had to wait another 45 minutes. Delicious Breakfast This is a chain that doesn't feel too much like one. The servers are all pleasant and friendly. The decor focuses on local history and institutions. We had the Cinnamon Roll French Toast which was very good. But I'm glad that I asked for the Foster Sauce and the Cream Frosting to be served on the side. They were both incredibly sweet and would have ruined the French Toast. The small dollop of nice whipped cream and the fresh berries was plenty of accompaniment. We also had a scramble with egg, onion and spinach. We asked for the Monterey Jack cheese that was supposed to be on it to be replaced with feta and that worked wonderfully. The dish was delicious. I have been going to Another Broken Egg multiple times a week for years. I love it so much. The staff are so caring and know repeats like family.
