Came in today for the first time and was pretty happy with my experience. I sat at the bar because I was dining alone, and was greeted pretty quickly. The bartender was very friendly, but wasn't what you'd expect at a bar (by which I mean she didn't really engage in conversations and I saw three different instances when she would ask a customer if they wanted a refill and would immediately turn around and do something else if they said no, but they did want to ask for something else) which I wasn't expecting, but I figured I should let potential patrons know. The restaurant was busy and it took about 25-30 minutes to get my order, but I think that's to be expected when you're ordering nice food at a busy establishment. If you want quick food, go to a diner or fast food place. Overall, I would definitely go back. One of the benefits of Yelp is when looking up restaurants like Another Broken Egg Café, you can virtually check in and reserve a table. We did that and by the time me and my party of 4 more arrived, it took less than a minute to seat us. The staff was very friendly. It was our first time there and the manager introduced himself and gave us complimentary Biscuit Beignets, essentially powdered sugar pancake bites with what looked and tasted like maple orange syrup. Hints of orange peel would decorate the white coating of the bites when you'd dunk them in. They were delicious. I was then recommended the crabcake benedict eggs and I would have ordered a second helping if my wife hadn't stopped me. They tasted very fresh. I've never had crab and egg before, but with the hash and muffin, it almost felt embarrassing that I'd not eaten this before--beautiful combo of flavors in each bite. I enjoyed how the eggs were slightly runny so that I could dip each bite in the egg yolk for a balanced, flavorful, bite each time. Other members in my party had the skinny omelette, an order of Belgian waffles too, all looked delicious from the feedback they provided me. We had a great time and left very happy. Our family from the Tampa area did not know about this place and now have a new brunch spot. Also, I really enjoyed the art decor. I've been to a few Broken Eggs, but this experience was in my top 3 visits. The staff was super accommodating & friendly. She made she the table was always okay. As far as chain restaurants go, this one is pretty good! The menu could use a little refresher, but the food is definitely tasty. I love that they actually offer heavy cream as an option for your coffee, most places only offer half and half, and following a ketogenic lifestyle, heavy cream is the way to go! My personal favorite is the Bacquezo omelette, which I always pair with a side salad. My biggest gripe is that the service is very slow and I tend to have to flag someone down for coffee refills. read more

I was told nicely that you can't order any alcoholic item on Sunday before 11am. It was fine because I was there at 1010am and who doesn't wanna wait for something that they've been craving. As a courtesy they brought me free beignets for the inconvenience which wasn't even an inconvenience but I think they appreciated that I waited patiently. The place was busy and I assume I wasn't the only one waiting for a good Bloody Mary. When 11am came I ordered the Bloody Mary and asked the bartender which of the two items should I order since I had time to study the menu. Let me just say that the menu is eclectic and filled with desired items that weren't an everyday thing. Homemade sauces and dressings were the norm which is refreshing. I ordered another one of my constant favs which was Shrimp N Grits. They did a fabulous job. Was made with peppers, andouille sausage, had peeled shrimp, and nice toasted bread. The peeled shrimp is a big thing for me. I believe if u get an item with shrimp in it it shouldn't have the shell or tail. Guess that's just me. My husband and I eat breakfast outside here often, usually Sunday mornings. I went there today, a Tuesday, and my son and I sat outside also. The food is always delicious and the service is great, so why my 3 star review? The last few times we've gone, the music being played on the outdoor speaker is alternative rock and is not exactly what you want to hear when you're eating breakfast. My son, who actually likes alternative rock, made a comment about it this morning. I did ask the server, the last time we were there, if there was any way to turn it down or change the station, but she didn't think that would happen. First of all, ABEC is a fantastic restaurant, you have to consider it a top 10, heck! you could argue that it's a top 5 in the breakfast category. It's really that good. Only tried it once thus gar, I usually wait to post a review just to be sure the consistency is there and the review is fair. But when you have a breakfast this good, why wait. The Western Omelette I ordered was just perfect. The menu offers such a variety, making a choice can be challenging. Was not crazy about the coffee, was better than most but I much rather go a few doors down and grab me a cup at cafe caribe. I'll try one of the specialties on my next visit. Service was terrific, waitress was friendly and attentive. So why four and not five? The parking and the pricing. We arrived at the restaurant a few minutes before noon. We were immediately greeted with smiles from the two hosts behind the counter. I explained that I was on the wait list from the website and they told me that it would be around a 10 minute wait. They weren't far off. We sat and waited for a short time and the host walked by and offered us water and drinks. She was very attentive. Our server said he will be back to take our orders shortly and after around ten minutes he did. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. The issue that I have is that the food seemed to have taken an unusually long time. If we had have know that the kitchen was so backed up we would have dined elsewhere as we were to be to a previous engagement at 1:30. I believe that an hour and a half wait is more that expected for breakfast. The food was favourable and again our server very friendly and upbeat. I have to say that I will be reluctant to return based on the fact that we cannot guarantee the extended wait time that was imposed on us. I was seated pretty quickly, however, nobody came to stop by for over 10 minutes. I finally asked for help. Upon waiting during the 10 minutes, I was extremely warm. Upon placing my drink order, I asked the server if there was a reason why it was so hot. I was told "there is major AC issues and it's not going to get better....do you want several glasses of water"... I opted for an unsweetened tea...the longer it took just to receive my drink, I felt that it was best to go to another restaurant. I had read such great reviews, so I was looking forward to the meal (Me and my boyfriend both got bourbon street pancakes); however, the pancakes were underdone and still had batter in the middle. The pancakes also come with eggs and a choice of meat. My eggs had shells in them, and came with a nice hair on top. By the time we got them, the eggs and meat were also cold. A great gem for safety harbor! We arrived around 10:15 on a Sunday morning and were seated right away. Luckily we beat the crowd because 30 min later and there was a wait. I ordered the traditional breakfast with their homemade sausage patties. They were absolutely out of this world. The city grits were great too, but not worth the up charge cost. My husband ordered the southwest scramble and he really enjoyed it. I'm dinging them 2 star for the price of their coffee. It was close to $3 a cup and it honestly wasn't that great. Would I return? I am a picky brunch eater, and this is some of the best I have had since moving to Tampa Bay. They have a bar at the back where I sat during the busiest hours of Sunday morning. While I understand that Covid has impacted many employers especially in the food and service industry, it is hard to want to dine out- we chose to come here for breakfast anyway. The wait wasn't an issue- took about 35 minutes for two. The placed was packed, which I took as a good sign. I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict, (a bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, and two poached eggs with capers and onions ). It took an hour to get breakfast. During the wait time our server did not come to refill drinks or check-in to see if we needed anything. Once the meal arrived, the one poached egg was hard boiled and there was barely, if any, cream cheese. See photo. It wasn't until I flagged the server down and asked for more water that I was able to mention the egg. I ate only the salmon and left the bagel. The server did bring me two poached eggs at record breaking speed.
