Pleasantly surprised with Saigon Cafe in Clearwater. My wife and I were doing a little shopping and got hungry. We drove along Route 19 north to see if anything would drive our curiosity. Saigon Cafe did that for us, with its signage and location. Some may describe it as a hole in the wall type of place and I would not disagree. It's located in a nondescript strip mall, where road construction is all over the place. We took the chance and stopped in to check it out. The restaurant is clean and organized. The waiter and cook greeted us warmly. We were given menus and proceeded to review their offerings. Not much except basic Vietnamese and Korean fare. We decided on a tuna bahn mi sandwich and pho with brisket along with a shrimp and pork wrapped vegetable roll. Our expectations were minimal as we did not know what to expect. Surprise! The portions were large and the flavors were solid, not overwhelming. We were very happy. The service was attentive, polite and thorough. We had some nice conversations with our waiter and came away from the overall experience very satisfied. We will be back! read more

Dropped in Saturday for lunch at this family-run Vietnamese-Korean spot and left very happy. Warm welcome, super clean and a good size menu blending the best of both cuisines (even a few Thai options!). I asked the nice guy taking our order to pick between two dishes - he instantly said "Beef bibimbap!" and it was delicious: sizzling stone bowl, rice, tender bulgogi, colorful veggies, and that gooey egg. My husband got the loaded "Everything" banh mi on a crusty-yet-airy baguette, He also ordered the pork & shrimp summer rolls because he couldn't resist. I was excited that there was a new option for Vietnamese food, particularly Bahn Mi sandwiches. Although the ingredients were fresh and tasted fine, my grilled pork Bahn Mi was lame. It should have been named "pork flavored" Bahn Mi. I thought $7 for a Bahn Mi was very reasonable (if it was good), I'd rather go to Ha Long Bay in Dunedin for $8.49 and get one with waaay more meat. I only had the Bahn Mi, so I can't say what the other menu items were like, but I'll take a pass on the Bahn Mi. read more

Glad to see Saigon Cafe finally opened. I stopped in to check it out and the store front interior was fresh and inviting. I was initially going to stop in for a bahn mi sandwich but I wasn't too hungry so I decided to have an order of Vietnamese egg rolls and a Vietnamese iced coffee. Both items were reasonably priced and the egg rolls came three to an order. They were crispy and tasty and the coffee was bold and refreshing. Service was attentive. I will definitely return to try a bahn mi when I have an appetite. read more

Pho is delish... huge bowl with plenty of noodles and meat...I like the ribeye personally... the Banh mi sandwiches are so tasty and the bread is so fresh and crunchy.... We got both a pho with ribeye and a Korean soup. Both were delicious. The service was incredible. Our waiter was so attentive and polite. Gave great explanations and recommendations. If you like Vietnamese food, you'll love Saigon Cafe. And if you don't like Vietnamese food, it's probably because you haven't eaten here. We're going back asap for ban mi. read more

We were happy to see a new place for Bahn mi near us so we tried it out. We're ordered one special and one grilled pork. When we got home we found we have 2 grilled pork. As I only get the special I can't say if this is better than my favorite or not. But based on the grilled pork I would not go back for sandwiches . I will try the Pho next time and hopefully that will be a better experience. The place is nice and the staff if friendly. read more

I was in the area and Yelped some food options and this place came up. Very friendly staff and they were prompt and accommodating. I ordered a simple Pho bowl and it was tasty. The establishment was clean and looked like the pics on Yelp. I'd visit them again in the future. read more

They opened july 24 and as of july 29th, ive already had their banh mi three times. Its easily the best banhmi i've had in the clearwater/tampa area and the selection they have is amazing for banhmi. The service was quick polite and fast, though I've only done takeout. The place is clean and nice and ample space for diners. Cant wait to try their other items! read more

Been here 3 times before, the only reason I go back is the food is good…read more. but this time the food was subpar n cold.. service has always been lacking since first visit.. stood in front area for 15 minutes (no one was there) sat at table that we were finally put at for 15 minutes before I had to wave waitress down to place order.. i had to ask three times for a glass of water.. soup was cold had to have it warmed.. entree was cold n so was the rice only hot item was egg rolls.. Service here was not good. Someone told me five times that someone would come and take my order. It took a while. When I see someone come in after me and they have all their food, and I have not ordered, that's not good And the other table next to me they got all their food at totally diff times. I got my food actually pretty quickly after my order was put in so I was surprised and it was piping hot. You pay at the front here, they don't give you a bill at your table. They accept cash or card. Not Apple Pay which they said they did. I told her I'd get my card in the car and she looked at me as if I was going to dine and dash. I reassured her I was coming back and I surely did. The tables can definitely be loud so just keep that in mind when picking a table if you want to talk.

But the drunken noodles were not cooked properly; all stuck together and lacking in sauce. The interior is very nice and very clean. The staff are friendly and the service is very good. Overall, this place needs a solid review by the Owner.

I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager about out food, and was told all their food was made "fresh." Nope, it arrived too fast! This is the first time we've never had leftover Chinese food, as I threw it all out, $65 worth. As I was throwing out the food, I realized I should have taken pictures. Rookie mistake. We don't get a lot of take out.
