Four of us enjoyed meeting up at PhoEdin. Eating outside with a beach vibe was fun. The workers were very pleasant too. The food however was very average. We started off with Vietnamese Coffees. They were not made with enough cream or sweetness. The result was they tasted like a cup of extra strong coffee. Then I ordered a Banh Mi sandwich with tofu. As I said there were 4 of us, & my order was taken last. They brought out the 1st person's order by itself. About 7 minutes later the 2nd person's order came out. 7 minutes later the 3rd order came out. 7 minutes later my order came out. The result was as I began eating, the 1st person was already done. My Banh Mi sandwich was extremely plain tasting & small. It tasted fine, but for good Vietnamese food, my thought is there are many better places nearby. read more

Okay, this has probably been by far my worst Phở experience ever. It started off looking cute and all, but then realized they don't have an inside. It's just outdoor seating. But it's 58° and rainy out, so I decided to order it to go. Their menu is extremely limited and definitely not authentic. No raw eyeround beef, no tripe. Their beef is only brisket. And apparently the pricing is no meat! So of course I asked for beef and pork belly. But then I get charged $4 for "extra beef". I asked why, they said they charge extra when you order 2 proteins. What?! Your menu doesn't indicate this. I paid $19, yes $19 for a bowl of Phở! The most expensive Phở I've ever had in my life! And I grew up in New York and spent my entire adult life in Boston. The 2 most expensive cities in the country! Phở is supposed to be one of the cheapest and fastest food ever. Check out how much meat actually came in my order. And look at this dinky container of soup that came with! Never in my life have I spent over $15-20 for Phở and usually a drink, and sometimes even a dessert before taxes and tip. Total for everything was $32 AND it wasn't even that good! I could have gotten a steak entree elsewhere instead. This was my 2nd visit and am so excited to share this little gem of a place! Fresh-est of food and absolutely delicious. Had to go there twice to make sure it REALLY was that delicious consistently!! Cheap but not fast. Ordered a Thai tea and gyoza. Was told to take a seat and it would come out. After about 20 min, we went to the window and our food was just sitting on top of the counter with the person saying "oh yeah" as if she forgot about us. Extremely overpriced for crap food. The bao buns are frozen and you only get two. You can buy an entire package of frozen buns at the Asian store for the same price. Food is decent but service is lacking to say the least. After multiple visits over a couple years expect to wait atleast 30 minutes for food. There were only 4 customers at the joint. The kids working the place have the reason that they were super busy. Either they were busy and the place is poorly managed or they were twiddling their thumbs. I wouldn't go there unless you have oodles of time to kill. Food is good though. read more

As others have said, this may not be the most traditional pho shop, but the broth is the best I've had in the area. The portions are generous. Told them I want a refund for them... so we will see if they actually give me a refund. So my bf and I were here on a Saturday around 2:30. We ordered 2 drinks, 2 bowls of pho and kimchi. It was $43. Grab and go style... $43? Anyway. there were about 3 ppl total that were there before us and it took 25 minutes to get our food. While we were waiting it was very quiet. I wish there was like some background noise instead of just sitting there in silence for nearly 30 mins. The kimchi, was warm, limp and fishy. We sent it back and all they did was apologize. They didn't even ask if there was anything they could do to help like offer a different appetizer or give us like a coupon or something. The pho was amazing, great flavors but there were barely any noodles. The bean sprouts, jalapeños and basil did not come on the side and there were no limes.. which is annoying because I like cold crunchy bean sprouts and to add them as I eat. I stopped here on a whim and wasn't disappointed. I have eaten a lot of Pho in my life and have lived in California and NYC. Their pho would stand up to any I've had. The broth was rich and flavourful, full of spices and not greasy. Sprouts, basil, etc were all fresh and crisp. I had it with shrimp which made it lighter and lovely. Came here after the jackass bartender at a "social club" in Dunedin wouldn't let is walk the 6' from door to bar without a mask. Lmao. The food here was great. Had the noodle soup and lettuce wraps. Who doesn't love Pho?! I especially love Pho so when I found out about this place I definitely wanted to go. The restaurant is a little different than most. Kind of reminds of me of food truck type place where you order at the window but the tables are outside. I've read some of the other reviews and yes on a hot sunny day in Florida it is difficult to sit outside but PhoEdin does a good job of providing fans that fight the heat. When ordering, the lady was extremely nice and sweet. Very helpful indeed. Helped to understand the difference between their Pho and others Pho. So I ordered the beef rib pho with two spring rolls and Reef Donkey beer to drink. She delivered my food to mean shave different options for me to make my pho to my liking. The pho was very delicious and very flavorful. The spring rolls were wrapped in plastic wrap which I thought was weird. I Unwrapped them and had no problem. Then I took a bite out of my spring roll and it essentially fell apart. Not one. Both of them. I was disappointed at that. But other than that it was very delicious and good. read more

Stopped in for the first time on my bike, I got the pork banh mi & a side of seaweed salad; $11 and change. Worth it. The bread was decent, and the pork was good, with plenty of cool veggies and cilantro and lots of fresh jalapeño for spice. The seaweed salad was like any other I've had before at sushi places, quite possibly the same brand. All in all, 5- stars, good food, good service. My only advice, you may want to call ahead. Was looking forward to trying this place because I love pho and noticed some good reviews. Unfortunately I am disappointed! The little bit of chicken I got was fried and didn't even taste like chicken,accidentally given pork maybe? I have never had fried chicken in pho! They did not put very much chicken in the bowl either. The bowl was mostly slightly over cooked noodles. I was also very disappointed with the small amount of cilantro and onion I was given. The broth container size was 2 cups which is half the size given at most pho places. The broth looked nice and clear as it should but did not have much flavor. Perhaps it didn't simmer long enough but definitely missing something,fish sauce maybe?The banana boba tasted very watered down and the boba was mushy,not chewy as it should be. I miss my fav pho spot in Pinellas Park that closed down and looking for a replacement. Unfortunately I won't get this again but I will go back to try the Banh Mi and will keep looking for my new pho place. UPDATE...when I put it in my bowl to try and eat the broth did not even cover half of the noodles. The broth was improved after I let it set in fridge overnight with added fish sauce,star anise,ginger and cilantro. We all like Pho, right? Well, most of anyways. After all, it's just noodle soup that each individual spices up to their own liking. But not so fast. No customizing here. Your bowl will arrive with all the fixins included, so if you don't like it spicy, ask for no jalapeños. Same goes if you don't like mint or cilantro. As for the soup, it's really good! I got the chicken and pork meatball combo. The pork was very tasty, but the chicken? Skip it. It lacks flavor and its drizzled with what tastes like a teriyaki BBQ sauce--not worth the extra 2 bucks in my opinion. Also, I ordered a half portion and it was plenty for me. The soup was slow to come out, but they just open, so I refuse to ding them for that. Patience is the key here. The main drawback here is the restaurant itself. Florida is a sweltering hot state, especially along the west coast were we don't have the luxury of a constant seabreeze like the folks on the east side. So as one might imagine, eating boiling hot soup requires a cool environment in which to do so, and from Arpil to December, PhoEdin isn't really going to provide that. Why? Because it is outdoor seating only. Sure, it's shaded, but make no mistake, if you put one jalapeño too many in your broth, you'll be sweating like a hooker in a southern Baptist church. Still, I think this place has potential, and it brings an a new element to Dunedin, Vietnamese fare. Pisces Sushi just relocated from Main & US 19 to the downtown area, so it feels like there is a nice ethnic shift in the food's diversity happening right now, and I am a big fan. Now all we need is a good Mediterranean joint! The numero uno positive with PhoEdin is location. Sure, it's not on trendy Main Street, but it is right off the Pinellas Trail. Lots of pedestrian traffic passing by this place on a daily basis. In fact, it is how La Chica & I found it; just whizzing by on our bikes. By the way, this place is owned and operated by the same folks as Hog Island Fish Camp and Olde Bay Café, so trust in the food and support local business owners. Go today!! read more
