Feel bad that I didn't snap a pic, but we were hungry and when we got our order, we just started eating! The service was fast and friendly. We sat at c the counter so able to watch Brenda cook and chat her up too. We ordered breakfast because heard it was good. It was! Just like home, but better because I didn't have to clean up after. I had the Farmer's omelette, was loaded with peppers, onions, potatoes, ham and was covered in white gravy. We also had the French toast, the everything omelette, and the chicken sandwich. Everything was so good, eggs were nice and fluffy, & teeming with ingredients. The French toast was prepared with sourdough bread so it was nice and thick with crispy edges. The coffee was good, a little weak for my taste but it was flavorful. But the best part was the friendliness of the staff.

We ate at Brenda's two days in a row while on vacation because it was that good. You can tell this is the type of place where they remember you after one visit, and I love that in a place. The pancakes were delicious!

I always see this little place, next to Hurricane Eddie's on my way to and from honeymoon island. We decided to stop in for breakfast after an early morning of shelling. Three kids in our party thought it needed a serious remodel, and I told them all about "dive restaurants" and how they can be the best kind. But Brenda's is somewhere in the middle. It doesn't really have enough personality to be a cool dive, but it also isn't nice or new. There is some kitschy decor, which I like. The two waitresses and the woman on the grill are reminiscent of Betty White. Our waitresses complimented the kids in our party on their behavior, but the other one sneered at them (for no reason). Ours were the only kids in there, and I jokingly asked my husband if this was a 55+ restaurant. Food did not come quickly. It took a little while, which is ok, but we were definitely all ready for it. I had french toast, which was eggy on one side, but still pretty good. Bacon was crispy. Pancakes were bigger than the plate! Corned beef hash was crispy, and there was a different hot sauce on every table to choose from. Home fries were good but without seasoning. I couldn't believe our bill for 5 people was $50. A bit steep, I thought! Next time we'll try another place nearby, but I would come back again I guess.

Did a 1.5 light run from my front door with Brenda's as a halfway goal from breakfast. I was reminded of all the great homemade eats AND great prices. You on your way to Honeymoon Island? Breakfast at Brenda's! Breakfast Specials Every Tues thru Friday! 2 Egg Omelets are the perfect size for me. Grandma's Biscuits & Sausage Gravy are a local fave as are the Blueberry or Chocolate Chip Pancakes! Corned Beef Hash, Steak & Eggs, Smoked Sausage, and more great menu items. I had a two egg Veggie Omelet to die for! Onion, Green Peppers, & Mushroom in melted Swiss with a half order of Grandma's Biscuits! After that, I had to reassess my review UPWARDS! Lunch? Grilled Steak, Cheese, and Onion lead the select sammie with an Egg Salad fave. You got your Burgers & Dogs with Fries & Home Made Onion Rings as well! Be sure to ask for "The Dessert of the Day!" I'll be back this week!

Special of the Day! Croissant breakfast sandwich - over medium egg, American cheese, and bacon! Really good!

This place really caught my eye driving by the restaurant during the day. And when you walk inside,…read moreit doesn't disappoint. It has a pretty amazing bakery section when you walk through the back door to enter the restaurant. I was starving and picked the biggest thing on the menu which is the smokehouse platter and you get a ton of food with this platter (Brisket, pulled pork, quarter rack of ribs all served with coleslaw, Texas toast & side of fries.) I thought the price was absolutely amazing because you get all the food for $28.95. Needless to say as starved as I was, I couldn't even finish the whole meal. Our server was Scott and he was pretty amazing and he was training a new hire and I'm sorry but I can't remember her name but she was equally great and explained the menu really well. It's really a bonus that they stay open till 11 PM Thursday through Saturday. So anything you get that is from the BBQ...they bring out this 4 pack of house sauce. I tried each of them and all were great and had their own unique taste. Chipotle White, PD BBQ, Korean BBQ, Carolina BBQ. The Korean BBQ was definitely my favorite. The chipotle white is kind of almost like a mayonnaise in my opinion. The inside while definitely fresh and clean looking...it does have a sort of rustic, actual prohibition older type feel. Would absolutely come back when in town again. Great overall experience here

The best part of Prohibition is the outside and the Bourbon. The food is overpriced and tragic…read more But the Blueberry old fashion is phenomenal. They do have a cute bar inside if you choose to stop for a drink. The ribs were the worst I have had in my entire life. In fact, before Prohibition, I didn't know ribs could be bad. It's either little meat or juice fall off the bone. The ribs at prohibition have NO meat and what meat exists is SO dried out that you can't get it off in order to eat it. They were completely inedible. The flavor is peppery but no meat comes off the bone. It's like a chew toy for a dog. The rosemary fries are ok. The chicken sandwich is dry and flavorless and the risotto shouldn't be called risotto. Gordon would have a lot to say about that risotto. But those ribs went straight into the garbage. What a huge waste of money. If I wasn't with a group of strangers I would have said something. So much effort was spent on the outside of the building and none on hiring people who can actually cook. I walked out with a $50 tab and still hungry. Major disappointment. I cannot recommend Prohibition Dunedin unless it's only for a drink.
