    Thanks , Brittany!

Having drinks at the bar with a fabulous bartender, Brittany. She was ultra attentive with great advice on drinks. Loved the wine she recommended.

We arrived right as they were opening so they weren't quite ready for us. Waitress was kind of a mess. Place is old and a little smelly but options are limited for Palm Harbor. Kind of wish we hadn't got off the trolley here because we were stuck for nearly an hour. Ordered drinks and cheese fries. All were good. Wouldn't stop here again though. 3.5 stars.

We enjoyed a nice meal and a cold beverage with friends. All of our dishes were very good. The service was excellent as well. Noteworthy was the Sangarita, I'm not a wine person, but my wife's was delicious.

A large, touristy dive bar, filled with locals enjoying the live music on the back patio. There are full bars outside and inside. On the back patio, they didn't clean the debris off the chairs as we were seated. A beer we requested had a peeling label and expired in 2023. The waiter tried to redirect us when we custom ordered a margarita. The food is good. The special was a very good rendition of Penne alla vodka with lobster in the sauce and lots of tail on shrimp.

Food was pretty okay. Workers were very kind, service was good. Ambiance was also very good inside restaurant!

Creamy Spicy Tuna & Japanese Bagel

Good food and cheap drinks could be the theme of Thirsty Marlin. Huge selection of seafood, and discounted sushi rolls for happy hour everyday from 5-7pm. We arrived just before 7pm and took advantage of said happy hour by quickly ordering a Creamy Spicy Tuna & Japanese Bagel roll, for $5 each. To be honest, it might have been the best sushi for the price that I've ever had. And, you can watch them roll it at the sushi bar just adjacent to the regular bar counter. On to the entrees -- so many types of fish prepared in so many different ways. I ended up going with the Salmon Dill Wrap. The salmon is blackened prior to putting it in the wrap so it came out pretty warm which was great, except it caused the dill sauce to melt and ooze out of the wrap with each bite. Needless to say, it was a bit messy. I also got a half inch sized fish bone in one of the bites which was a turn off, but that's the risk you take when ordering fish I guess. The side of coleslaw was pretty good, and the chips were standard ruffles. Service was fine when we went, expectedly laid back as are the vibes of the restaurant. The location is also pretty neat, with several other bars and restaurants on the same strip. So after we ate, we went to a nearby bar to listen to live music.

    Thai Chicken Wrap

It's been a year since our last visit...against my wishes my wife insisted on a second chance. Not much has changed...still understaffed...mediocre food quality...overpriced, and dirty. The Caesar salad had nice presentation but chicken (extra $$) was tough. The Thai chicken wrap was lacking the peanut sauce and chicken was tough again. Luckily my wife ordered extra sauce. My burger was overcooked and onion bun tasted stale and was hard. The coleslaw was excellent...1 star! Staffing continues to be an issue with only one staff member covering the bar/bar tables. The gentleman was friendly and professional...1 star. $86 for 2 beers 1 wine 1 iced tea 1 Caesar salad w/ chicken 1 Thai chicken wrap w/chips 1 burger w/blue cheese and fries. On a side note, the facility upkeep has gone downhill...men's restroom floor was sticky and smelled...woman's restroom had a clogged toilet and no toilet tissue (per wife). This is an issue because we arrived 20 minutes after the restaurant opened. Makes me wonder about the food prep areas. We are now in agreement...no more Thirsty Marlin for us....

Happy hour menu. I did not like the sushi for $5

Food - we had the scallops, side salad, conch chowder and happy hour sushi. Yay for live music. However fatties next door has live music everyday and food and is much more affordable. I'm not sure if I'm spoiled by sushi, but that was the worst I've ever had. So I was surprised to see how many good reviews it had. It came out the end of the meal even though we ordered it first. It looked made by someone who didn't know how to make it. I did not take a pic. I had one bite of each and that was enough for me. Service was fine from our new young waiter. Ambience cool. The scallops were not big bag scallops. They were the e small ones, which I don't like as much. Side salad was my favorite thing of our order... Next time, I'll go to fatties as it's more of a bar and thirsty is more of a restaurant.

Had a great time dining at The Restorative in Dunedin. This is such a perfect date night spot…read more Everything we ordered was amazing and you can really tell how much care goes into each dish. We even got to meet the owner who is also the chef. Super cool guy and very welcoming which made the experience feel extra special. We sat at the bar seating where you can watch the kitchen in action and it made the night even more fun. It kind of gave me Rooster & the Till vibes with the open kitchen energy and intimate setup. They serve wine and beer only which honestly fits the cozy and thoughtfully curated feel of the place really well. Great food great atmosphere and a unique dining experience overall. I would absolutely come back again and highly recommend it if you are looking for something a little different in Dunedin. What I ordered: - house made naan bread - chicken veloute, potato tortellini, carmalized onions, egg yolk (gives only 1 tortellini. Wish they added more) - ricotta gnocchi, brown butter, sage, prosciutto - beef short rib, mushroom and onion tart, parsnip, black garlic (really good!! must order!!)

I've come here twice. It's located in a not-so-great strip mall…read more It has a very small menu and I feel like everything is pre-cooked or maybe par-cooked and they just finish it at the restaurant (no big kitchen). When I sat at the bar I saw them pulling the food out of plastic containers in the fridge and warming it back up. The portions are small and the prices high, so come knowing that. That said, the food has always tasted good. The service was okay. My biggest issue, I tried to come eat here with my pre-teen kids once after a sports game they played and was asked multiple times if I was sure this was the place I wanted to come. Did they think I can't afford it? Did they not want my kids in the restaurant? And on that note, the food is not kid-friendly really.

Perfect Birthday Night at The Black Pearl…read more My husband took me to The Black Pearl for my birthday, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt special--elegant but comfortable, the kind of place that makes you feel like you're celebrating something important (because we were!). The service was outstanding--attentive without being overbearing--and the staff truly made the evening feel memorable. Our meals were phenomenal, beautifully prepared, and worth every bite. It was one of those dinners where you're already planning what you want to order next time before you've even finished your plate. Between the incredible food, wonderful service, and getting to spend the evening with my favorite person, it was exactly how I wanted to celebrate my birthday. The Black Pearl helped turn a special night into a truly unforgettable one. Highly recommend for celebrations, date nights, or anytime you want an exceptional dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

Came in for anniversary dinner and had a terrific experience at The Black Pearl. Restaurant itself…read moreis very small and intimate but not cramped. We were seated and taken care of by a fantastic waiter. We opted for wine and sparkling by the glass and the sommelier was able to provide some good recommendations and even provided some insight on the region of the wines. Waiter explained the menu which was à la carte but included bread, their Black Pearl Salad , and a palate cleanser before the main entree. The food was prepared and spaced out perfectly so you did not feel rushed or waiting at any point during the experience. From start to finish, it ended up being around 1 hour and 45 minutes which is a good range for a fine dining experience for 2. Our food order as followed: Hors d'oeuvres - Pork belly rillettes Bread (included) - Potato bread with garlic herb olive oil Starter - Pate of Foie Gras Salad (included) - Black Pearl Salad Entremet (included) - Watermelon Jalapeño popsicle Entrees - White truffle lobster risotto , Hereford filet mignon Dessert - Tarte Tatin with side of vanilla ice cream Everything was absolutely amazing and the execution and technique was perfect. If I did have a complaint (if you can call it that) was the choice of using a watermelon and jalapeño popsicle as a palate cleanser. The taste was amazing but it may be too aggressive in flavor prior to an entree. Putting my fake chefs hat on, I would have gone with a similar concept but using watermelon and maybe a yuzu citrus for a palate cleanser. Amazing experience, amazing food and presentation, amazing staff. 5/5. If you are in the Tampa Bay Area and you are looking for a true fine dining experience, check out The Black Pearl.
