I'm posting this review for my mom. Hello Palm Harbor. Big SHOUT out to Fatty's Fish Shack. I had a delicious lobster dinner with 2 sides for $24.95. Besides the delicious food, the service was GREAT. The restaurant is under new management. Sean who is the current owner could not be more helpful. He is fabulous with senior citizens. It was very refreshing to be catered to. God bless him and his family. I wish him all the best. Please try this restaurant for yourself, you won't be disappointed. Fatty Fish Shack is always a solid option for a laid-back Florida afternoon. We stopped in for the covered outdoor seating and live music after spending the day relaxing in a hammock on the Dunedin Causeway -- and it hit the spot. I love that the outdoor area is covered, so you still get the fresh air without the sun beating down on you. It was surprisingly slow this visit (I've been here before when it was packed), but service was still easygoing and the drinks were reasonably priced for what you get. We tried the smoked mahi fish dip -- definitely a standout, super flavorful and worth ordering. The West Connecticut lobster roll was good, and while the coleslaw was a little on the dry side, the potato salad made up for it. Overall, it's not somewhere I'd write off -- I'd absolutely come back. It's a great go-to on a pretty day if you're in the mood for live music, decent drinks, and a relaxed vibe. read more

Everything about our experience was terrible. The service was awful, and the food was even worse. We ordered the queso trio, which took over 30 minutes to receive, and the guacamole was missing, but the chips were also stale. She also brought us out the pretzel on accident, and that was cold in the center. The lobster roll had minimal meat, and the bread was not toasted at all. They forgot to have the melted butter with it, so by the time that came out the lobster meat was cold. We never received any refills for our water and soda, and the bar drinks took about 40 minutes to receive. The restaurant was not busy enough for how bad the service was. read more

Go for a drink and music, leave for the food. Ooof has it gotten worse with Owners change? Under staffed on weekend nights, mediocre at best food that takes for ever. Bar Fly please come back! read more

Our waiter was definitely slow to get our order for drinks and food. I had the lobster roll warm and I could've swore on the menu it said it came with other stuff, but it was really just some lobster in a Texas toast roll. The coleslaw was incredibly dry and I was not a fan of their potato salad. The mahi fish dip was actually really good. It tasted fresh. And the Long Island iced tea I had was strong. I'm not sure I would come back for the food but for the music and drink deals maybe . read more

We went back for Open Mic and a drink. Sat at the bar and ordered the nachos with the beans. Holy, these had to be some of the best nachos I've ever had. Lots of cheese and pulled chicken. They were excellent. Totally made up for the awful conch fritters we had last visit. And open mic was pretty good as well. There's some talented people hanging out in Palm harbour. read more

I've been coming to Fatty's Fish Shack since it opened and before, but a recent visit made it clear things have gone downhill and I won't be back until management changes. Some staff have been rude and inconsiderate, and it hasn't been an isolated incident but a pattern I've noticed over recent visits. One specific example: on a stormy, rainy evening with a heavier-than-usual crowd, a server named Lars brought his electric bike in from the rain and parked it on the handicap access ramp. This blocked the ramp entirely, so families with children and babies in strollers couldn't get through and had to go around through the stairs and get soaked in the rain just to get inside. When I said something to Lars about it, I was called out by the manager, Manuyel, instead of the issue being addressed. Moments you wish fire department would step in. Owners obviously have no real interest in this place since the staff has taken over to make it their own personal hangout while "trying" to service it as a restaurant. It's so obvious when it's happy hour for them, as you clearly see them making themselves drinks, specifically Jack Daniels and Jim Beam, and taking shots to the kitchen. It also feels like the business is cutting corners to stay afloat. Beer prices have dropped dramatically, which seems to be drawing a rowdier crowd, and the live music, which used to be a real draw here, has been scaled back to cheaper acts with noticeably lower quality. This used to be a great spot. I'd genuinely like to come back if ownership steps in and addresses the management issue. read more

Love the food & atmosphere at Fatty's! We have had the Red Fish several times and it's always delicious! Chef is very accommodating & has made some great recommendations for food choices. read more

Had shrimp and chicken tacos on Cinco de Mayo that were incredible, so went back yesterday and got lunch again. Great selection of local brews on tap and friendly wait staff. Located in downtown Palm Harbor, recommended. read more

We ended up here on a whim. We were checking out the new "downtown market" and there wasn't much to eat at it so we saw this was walking distance and decided to check it out! Really glad we did! The prices were great, the food we ordered was well done. I really liked the fish sandwich. The tacos were just okay. Drinks are great price. We got there just before lunch but most of the tables shortly filled up and they had a live performance going. It was really nice! Their indoor seating is really small so if you don't like eating outdoors, it's probably not the place for you, but it's well shaded, and they do have fans/heaters. read more

Visited in April while the fair was going on next door. Lived the live music. Patrons and bartenders were friendly. Awesome happy hour. Tasty food. Definitely will be back. Oh and hypnotiq freeze pops for a few dollars Happy hour after 10 had $5 margaritas, $5 wells, $5 cheeseburger (yummy), oysters, wings (tasty) and clam strips. Live music every night. How cool is that :) Oh and they sell t shirts for $20. I got moister than an oyster and my bf got go shuck yourself. read more

Great happy hour and service. Nice spot to get some appetizers and listen to live music. We had the oysters, fish dip, fried clam strips, pretzel and the cocktails shrimp and a few drinks. All were good, especially for the HH price. read more

Everyone enjoyed the food, and service was friendly and quick. However... One of the servers was inappropriately dressed to serve food in any restaurant. I lost my appetite halfway through my meal. She was dressed poorly and had a habit of leaning on a table when talking to patrons, it was revolting. Not going back. read more

Was so excited to try this spot. In the mix with 7-8 other hopping restaurants, this should have been a great meal. Got seated and met our server, Morgan, the star of the evening. Ordered mussels and fries as an app, along with some drinks. The sauce was good, but about 1/3 were dead and closed....so? The fish and chips was obviously just frozen chunks of cod thrown into a fryer and tossed on a plate, the grey/black color just isn't appealing. The grilled grouper sandwich was good, the lone savior of the meal. Mahi mahi with pineapple salsa was so overcooked, we thought we were being punked. I will say that the house white wine was great, so points for that...we won't be returning. read more

Not a foodie paradise but extremely well done executed menu an great FLorida draft beer menu. Grouper bites were crisp on outside, juicy on the side- just like you want them. Calamari equally perfect. Fish tacos are great and the bison burger cooked to perfect rare order. Rest of the fish items on menu look great. read more

This place is so good. I love the fried calamari and the margaritas. The atmosphere is great, the service is fantastic. Great !!! delicious mac & cheese outstanding service food not only looked good, but tasted even better

We were a party of 6 eating around 4pm as we had missed lunch. The food was good but nothing wow'ed me. They do have a happy hour menu but it wasn't given when you sit down so you have to ask them to tell you what is on the happy hour menu. My dinner the grouper came out about 10 min after everyone else had their food and they didn't really address the issue. If you're in the area looking for seafood it's worth giving it a try as long as you have the right expectations. read more

This was a favorite spot of ours They always had a number of different oysters on special. Saturday we had company from Philly and bragged about this place. We were seated immediately but the waitress did not show up for 20 minutes. After placing drink orders, it took another 20 minutes to receive them. She then took our food order which took 30 minutes to be served. Most of our guests were pleased with the food but not all. I ordered the crab cake sandwich. It came out burnt. I would have sent it back, but never saw the waitress. I picked through it and found it had very little crab and was all stuffing. One of our party ordered the mac and cheese with crab and again very little crab. We were very disappointed. I know it is challenging to have good help these days but someone needs to monitor what is going on in the restaurant. My son stopped by to say hello to everyone and ordered 2 quesadillas to go. He was in a hurry and just paid the bill. I looked at it afterwards and saw there was no slip that broke down the charges. After reviewing the menu saw he was overcharged $10. Would have complained but again the waitress was no where to be found! Will not be coming back as there are so many options in Pinellas. read more

Great seafood , burgers and appetizers. Fun bar with live music some nights . Great servers! Our server Lars was amazing!

Service and food was absolutely wonderful! Could not ask for anything more. The atmosphere was terrific as well!

Cool vibe. They have seats inside and out with the outside covered and ample fans to keep it cool. We decided to try on a Tuesday afternoon and the service was quick with the food coming out hot and fresh. We tried the grouper nuggets and the chicken quesadillas. Good bar type food not super but not bad. Will try again and maybe we won't be so hungry that we can take a pic of the food. read more

I'm leaving 4 stars because the Greek salad was one of the best! The only thing I would add is peppercinis. The beer was not cold. We got a Red Stripe and a PBR so Mr. Manager please make the beer colder! We live in Florida and if you have an outside bar you need ice cold beer. Put it on ice, if necessary. Thanks so much. We also got the fish spread. Small portion and 3 pieces of celery and four crackers. If the portion has to remain small at least give us some cheap veggies. Maybe 2 more pieces of celery and a few carrot sticks. Can you up the crackers too. It was good just too little food. Music was good, service not the best. That's all. Maybe be back because that Greek salad got me! read more

We had an opportunity to visit during our trip to Palm Harbor/Tarpon Springs. We went to fireside the night before and heard the band play at Fattys Fish Shak. We thought, let's check this place out the next day. We went for the first time and will be the last time. We ordered calamari and alligator bites. The calamari was over cooked and not good. Breading was horrible. Barely dredged in the coating. We returned the appetizer. Alligator bites were ok. Overpriced for them We had a party of 5; we ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and crab Mac and cheese. It looks appealing on the menu, BAD. Too much pasta, no flavor, very disappointing. The only good thing was the live music on the weekend. That was it. read more

We had the Smoked Salmon appetizer and I had the Mahi sandwich. Both were delicious. We've been here a lot and they often have excellent music. Parking is pretty easy in this neighborhood as well. Try them again! Under new management and wow, what a difference! Service is on point and a new menu, will definitely be back again soon

My first time being back to this place since it changed from Bar Fly. I really like what they've done to the place. The menu is fresh and has a wide variety of options from burgers to seafood. I opted for the crab cake sandwich and was very pleased. The tartar sauce tasted homemade and the crab cake was full of lump crab and not overly bready. I also got a side of the shrimp chowder which was really good. Food and drinks are reasonably priced, and they have live music. Really good all around! read more

Good place for a filling bite! Got the shrimp tacos and they were delicious! The server was kind and attentive, giving recommendations off the menu. The vibe was very cute but we should have gone after sunset because the heat was unbearable. They have a few fans but the heat was unreal and made me finish my meal as fast as I could. This place recently changed hands. The new owners appear to be raising menu prices beyond reasonable. The beauty of a place like this is affordable food in a casual atmosphere. The food was good. Ordered fresh oysters and calamari. The calamari was good but a VERY small portion for the price. The oysters were not good. We ordered the black point and blue point oysters.
