Blackened salmon with street corn and grilled asparagus

First experience....Wow! The sunset view, food, music, drinks, staff and hospitality was over the top. Valet parking was unexpected but the staff was on it. We did outside seating which made our dining experience even better. We will be back again

Came here for a birthday dinner and it was a lovely evening! The service was great especially considering we had a fairly large party. I started with the crab soup which had loads of crab in it and was so nice since it was cold out. For my entree I had the Thai glazed mahi mahi which was such a party of flavors and a great portion, I was able to take half home. This place is great for a date night or even a scenic lunch. If the weather permits I definitely recommend sitting outside.

It's been quite some time since I've been back here, so time for an update. Came here for my friend Lisa's birthday lunch and I was excited to try it out again and hang out by their pool. It's definitely a unique experience to have lunch and a swimming pool at the same place. Coming on a Thursday was great. The pool was relaxing, the water was warm, & the server by the pool was very helpful and made sure everyone was taken care of. That was def the best part. We had a frozona blue drink which was very refreshing and an ice cream sundae. Lunch time, we came right when they first opened at 11. We were the first one there and it quickly filled up. We ordered a ribeye with fries and a crab soup. They were quite enjoyable. Our inside service wasn't great compared to outside. As soon as we would have a question, our server was walking away and it was difficult to track her down for anything. We were deciding upon getting the pineapple creme brûlée for dessert, but we knew that would take forever, so changed our mind. I think 3.5 star average for this restaurant is pretty accurate. I can't do half stars and I would if I could bc the server at the pool was much friendlier and helpful. It was my friend's birthday and I'm glad that we had a good time nevertheless.

One of our favorite restaurants in this area. Staff is always super friendly and efficient and their food is consistently on point. Oh...and they make a really tasty vodka gimlet...which not a lot of places can do. Great location right on the water w seating inside and out. If you're looking for a nice place for an amazing meal...this is it!!

Family came here for our last meal before heading back home and we love it here. Large food menu with seafood, chicken, salads, etc. we love the outdoor space and sitting on the patio by the boats. Service is also always great! Fast and friendly.

This was my first time at Ozona after I had heard it recommended many times. They had a good wine list and a great menu. I had the shrimp scampi linguine and it was enough for dinner that night +2 to 3 leftover meals. It was just a really solid pasta dish with excellent sauce and the shrimp was done perfectly.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Fresh food, friendly staff with a clean area. They have a pool and hot tub for you to jump in and have a drink by a pool or just dine and enjoy the marina view. Valet parking is available or you can park yourself. Tons of seating and everything I've ever had has been amazing. Good pours and great flavor

As some other recent reviewers have reported your experience may vary. Front desk staff was friendly, bar staff where we sat to eat and drink seemed to only care about certain guests. My brothers have been here alot and couldn't stop singing their praises but the night we went was a completely different experience. We practically had to do a dance on the bar to get attention to get another drink. (they are not cheap) I was drinking the best vodka they had on site on the rox so a pretty easy drink and i was only able to get one since i couldn't get anyone's attention. One of my brothers was drinking wine and getting about a 2/3rd pour compared to some other people at the bar. Then someone wanted to watch something on the TV and paired their phone to it with some dang bright hockey game they were not paying attention too blinding you at the bar. The food was absolutely stellar so if you feel like getting agrivated but having some tasty food i guess you could risk it here. Good Luck Player One!

Grilled grouper sandwich with really delicious potato salad - taste as good as homemade!

I was so surprised with Yelp only had this restaurant at 3.6 star. Kara was a wonderful waitress, both patient and knowledgeable. I had the 1 pound peel and eat shrimp hot with butter, my sister's had the fried grouper sandwich and the grilled grouper sandwich and both were fabulous, and we shared a large wedge salad with shrimp which was delicious - all so amazing. I love the fact they have valet parking, and the views of the they were beautiful. It's a very likely place with both inside air-conditioning seating, outside fan seating, and cabana seating. Such and enjoyable lunch!

Would give 2,5 stars if possible. We ordered calamari, but had more fried onion than calamari. Beers and wines are served in plastic cups Server didn't know the drafts they had, ordered Stella and yengling, both weren't cold enough. Food was good tough, but service bad, needed to beg to our server to come to our table.

Im torn on this one. We've gone to Ozona Blue a few times, and most of the time it's great. Last night was definitely different, and unfortunately, we've watched it trending toward a downward spiral IN SERVICE the last few times we've gone. We generally go of lunch and I usually get the Mediterranean Salad with grilled chicken. Ive always been impressed that they can cook the chicken properly and it's never dry. My husband orders different items and also enjoys them. Last night we went for dinner. As usual, the atmosphere is always enjoyable and they have live music outside. It wasnt too hot out and the inside is SO SO LOUD, that we choose to sit outside. When we were seated we asked the hostess if their was live music and she said no, then sat us at the far deck.....NEXT TO THE MUSICIAN, lololol. Our waitress seemed to have too many tables. She was very unhappy and robotic, and I dont think she wanted to be at work. She wasnt snappy or rude, just didnt seem to like her job or have enough time to "serve" us. She greeted us with menus and asked what we wanted to drink. We asked for water while we look at the drink menu. It was a beautiful night, the weather was nice and the music was lovely so we were going to have a nice cocktail and enjoy our time. she returned awhile later with waters, put them down then quickly turned and left, HAHA!!! She did not even give us a chance to order it was so abrupt and unexpected. But we sat and waited....again, nice night. We watched as she did this same thing to other tables, set things down and ran before anyone could ask for anything else, I guess. (I think she had too many tables, so grace) Finally got some drinks after about 15 mins, yeah, it was a nice night and the music was good. My dirty Martini was perfection, though. Nice and cold and the perfect measure of dirty. Hubby had Spicy margarita, small but good. When she came back for our food order, we asked what kind of oysters they had...they didnt have any. Bummer, it was the main reason we chose Ozona Blue...it was a nice night and the music and Martini was good. I told her I was Gluten Intolerant and it looked like I could order the Mahi Mahi with sun dried tomatoes and artichokes. She agreed and said the only Gluten Free side that I could have were the French Fries, to which I was fine with. Hubby ordered the "short rib dinosaur bone" haha, yes thats what it's called so he couldnt resist. The food runner came with our food and put mine down saying that they had to put the rue on the side because it was NOT gluten free. You know...the artichoke, sun dried tomato part....the reason I ordered the Mahi Mahi....which my waitress failed to mention! So I had a PLAIN grilled fish and French Fries. I asked the runner for some lemon at least and he was kind enough to offer tartar sauce. Nice night....good music...good martini....dont let the lack of care of service get me upset and ruin it...it's just fish. To my delight, the Mahi Mahi was cooked perfectly! A fish which is usually dry and boring was actually very moist and seasoned well, and the tartar sauce and lemon helped add flavor layer. so. My husbands Dinosaur bone was well flavored and tender, but its a very fatty meat so he didnt like the amount of inedible fat there was. Still enjoyed it. I never saw our waitress again after she took our food order. We ate and then decided we'd go inside and have another cocktail at the bar, so I left while hubby waited for the check. Had she returned at any point, I might have mentioned to her that she did failed to tell me the MahiMahi rue was NOT gluten free, and I was thankful the chef, at least, was paying attention. Thats not an oversight one should be careless about. My hubby finally made it inside to the bar and we enjoyed a second cocktail. It was a nice night, the music was good, the martini was perfection, and the fish was moist.

Stuffed grouper with a side of mushroom risotto
    Mia K.

Went to dinner on a Saturday evening. Dined outside with the heaters keeping the chill away. A band was playing closer to the water area. It was a nice addition to a good evening meal. The food was great. One meal was surf and turf with mushroom risotto and asparagus on the side. The other meal was the stuffed grouper. Both meals were very good. However, the grouper was a bit over cooked but still good. The service was slow & we were not very attended to as we had to find another server just to refill the drinks after a long wait. Otherwise, a great place to enjoy a well cooked meal.

I grew up in the Midwest, with a typical "meat and potatoes" diet. On the rare occasion that…read moreseafood was on the menu, it was typically a frozen variety like Groton's, or the occasional fish fry at the Elk's Club. That's changed since moving to the Gulf Coast of Florida, where the fish at the local restaurant today was probably swimming yesterday. My "go-to" seafood now is a grouper sandwich which I order blackened but NOT fried. I've sampled grouper sandwiches from many local dining establishments, but my favorite is from "Carvor's Fish House" A couple of important notes: 1) Carvor's is only open for LUNCH. Their hours vary, so you'll want to check the website, but they typically close at FIVE PM, with the last order accepted at FOUR PM. 2) Carvor's has NO inside dining The patio is tree-shaded with extra umbrellas but if it's really hot, you may be uncomfortable. 3) Carvor's has COUNTER SERVICE. You go inside, order your food and THEN go back outside and select a table. When your food is ready, a server will bring it to your table. 4) This is downtown Dunedin, and parking can occasionally be a challenge on Douglas Street, but FREE parking is available in the city parking garage across the street. Pictured is my "blackened grouper" sandwich. A refreshing change from the usual French fries is their homemade chilled tomato, cucumber and onion salad. Delish!

The next time, we went for lunch and they were out of some things that we initially ordered, but we ended up with a heating plate of fried things that kind of felt like bar food. Not only was he funny and genuinely enjoyable to talk to, but he provided excellent service from start to finish. He definitely added to the overall experience. We started with the smoked fish spread, which was excellent. It had a great smoky flavor, and serving it with jalapeños was the perfect touch. I had the fried seafood platter, and everything was lightly battered, crispy, and full of flavor. It was so good my wife kept reaching over and picking at my platter! She ordered the lobster roll, which was a great-sized portion and absolutely delicious. Great food, great atmosphere, and an all-around great experience. We'll definitely be back. Predatory worker compensation structure - Be aware…read more We recently dined here and noticed the tabletop signs explaining a mandatory 20% "commission" added to every single bill. When speaking with our server, she informed us that management classifies the waitstaff as 1099 independent contractors, meaning they receive a $0 hourly base rate from the restaurant and rely entirely on this mandatory guest fee for their paycheck.I have a physical copy of the check showing this automatic fee. While the sign claims this "supports our team," classifying standard restaurant servers as 1099 workers instead of W-2 employees is a massive red flag that contradicts federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines. Independent contractors set their own hours and operations; servers do not. Furthermore, a restaurant cannot legally leave a server's direct hourly base wage at zero by relying entirely on automatic service fees.We love supporting local staff, but we want our money going to businesses that respect basic labor laws and compensate their employees legally. Hopefully, public pressure will force management to fix their payroll structure. The server said the restaurant was on the verge of bankruptcy and had to make changes. Sadly they chose to break the law. On that note the service was lovely, the food very tasty. I asked to sub corn for flour tortias and she was able. We don't directly live in the area, and its been a while since we've been here. Its always good, with good portions and not a chain. Its so unfortunate.

This place is absolutely adorable…read more I think this street is the perfect place to hit up a couple restaurants for a progressive dinner. A lot of the restaurants are closed for lunch though, which is how we ended up here. It's a lot larger than it looks. There's a really cute covered outdoors area in the back with a stage for performances. There were only a few diners there for lunch on a Friday so it was easy to grab a spot. I got a skinny strawberry margarita, it made me happy to see a skinny version of a flavored margarita on the menu. It has a sugar rim and was delicious. It's on the sweet side and I'd definitely get it again. I requested it without soda water. For my main I got the salmon bowl. I wouldn't get this again, but it's because the base is mainly fried wontons. I thought it would be a scattering of fried wontons but nope, it was a hefty portion. I didn't eat most of the fried wontons because I'm trying to be healthy. It's a delicious dish, just not for me. Service was great, but we were an easy table because we were chatting the entire time. I enjoyed our meal here, so we will definitely be back!
