    Dry BLT

Visiting the beach, we stopped by this cute dive for dinner. It was a chilly night, so we ordered our meals to go. After getting back to our room, we had no condiments- no cocktail sauce, no tartar and no mayonnaise on the BLT. The food was dry. We called. We were told to bring it back the next day for a refund. Next day, I take the food back, but was told I could only get a gift card and no sauce comes with food unless requested- not according to the menu nor did the server share this... we gave a 25% tip, but Veronica was not willing to refund the $22 for food that was returned, as requested, uneaten. Do not go if service is something you expect. Refused the gift card, cause WHY WOULD I EVER WANT TO RETURN?

Great little dive. $5 Margaritas and really good Coconut Shrimp! Decent Blackened Grouper sandwich and good service. Dog friendly outside.

    Bowl of Gumbo

Very reasonable prices. Live music is awesome. This is a no frills old florida style restaurant. Gumbo is ok a little lacking on the seafood but the smoked fish dip is awesome. Side bar they do all the smoking on site so any item with smoked meat/fish is going to be a hit. I would recommend if you have just come from the beach or fishing and definitely no need to clean up before coming. Also, service is quick!

Good simple food. Burgers were delicious. Outside dining was nice on an unusually cool evening in late May.

I grew up in the Midwest, with a typical "meat and potatoes" diet. On the rare occasion that…read moreseafood was on the menu, it was typically a frozen variety like Groton's, or the occasional fish fry at the Elk's Club. That's changed since moving to the Gulf Coast of Florida, where the fish at the local restaurant today was probably swimming yesterday. My "go-to" seafood now is a grouper sandwich which I order blackened but NOT fried. I've sampled grouper sandwiches from many local dining establishments, but my favorite is from "Carvor's Fish House" A couple of important notes: 1) Carvor's is only open for LUNCH. Their hours vary, so you'll want to check the website, but they typically close at FIVE PM, with the last order accepted at FOUR PM. 2) Carvor's has NO inside dining The patio is tree-shaded with extra umbrellas but if it's really hot, you may be uncomfortable. 3) Carvor's has COUNTER SERVICE. You go inside, order your food and THEN go back outside and select a table. When your food is ready, a server will bring it to your table. 4) This is downtown Dunedin, and parking can occasionally be a challenge on Douglas Street, but FREE parking is available in the city parking garage across the street. Pictured is my "blackened grouper" sandwich. A refreshing change from the usual French fries is their homemade chilled tomato, cucumber and onion salad. Delish!

The next time, we went for lunch and they were out of some things that we initially ordered, but we ended up with a heating plate of fried things that kind of felt like bar food. It is a cute spot and I would probably try it again. I just did not think it lived anywhere near up to the hype that most locals give it.

We had a fantastic experience at Crabby Bill's in Palm Harbor!…read more Let's start with the service--Cory was top-notch! Not only was he funny and genuinely enjoyable to talk to, but he provided excellent service from start to finish. He definitely added to the overall experience. We started with the smoked fish spread, which was excellent. It had a great smoky flavor, and serving it with jalapeños was the perfect touch. I had the fried seafood platter, and everything was lightly battered, crispy, and full of flavor. It was so good my wife kept reaching over and picking at my platter! She ordered the lobster roll, which was a great-sized portion and absolutely delicious. Great food, great atmosphere, and an all-around great experience. We'll definitely be back. Big shout-out to Cory for the excellent service!

This location is way better!! It's (3) levels and I sat at the top on this gorgeous day! Drinks are great for happy hour which runs from 11:00am-6:00pm great drinks for $5!!! I had the BEST Crab Cake since I moved (3 years) to Florida! Don't agree with a $35 dollar price tag..BUT it was Soooooo buttery, that I was scraping my skillet for more. Service was great! They might have been short handed..I'm just assuming...but the waiter was making my drinks! That alone is a SUPER bonus!! All-in-all I will come back! I'll be back for the crab boil..they have (3) to choose from and they look delicious! I was snacking all day, so "Linner" was light.

Predatory worker compensation structure - Be aware…read more We recently dined here and noticed the tabletop signs explaining a mandatory 20% "commission" added to every single bill. When speaking with our server, she informed us that management classifies the waitstaff as 1099 independent contractors, meaning they receive a $0 hourly base rate from the restaurant and rely entirely on this mandatory guest fee for their paycheck.I have a physical copy of the check showing this automatic fee. While the sign claims this "supports our team," classifying standard restaurant servers as 1099 workers instead of W-2 employees is a massive red flag that contradicts federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines. Independent contractors set their own hours and operations; servers do not. Furthermore, a restaurant cannot legally leave a server's direct hourly base wage at zero by relying entirely on automatic service fees.We love supporting local staff, but we want our money going to businesses that respect basic labor laws and compensate their employees legally. Hopefully, public pressure will force management to fix their payroll structure. The server said the restaurant was on the verge of bankruptcy and had to make changes. Sadly they chose to break the law. On that note the service was lovely, the food very tasty. I asked to sub corn for flour tortias and she was able. We don't directly live in the area, and its been a while since we've been here. Its always good, with good portions and not a chain. Its so unfortunate.

This place is absolutely adorable…read more I think this street is the perfect place to hit up a couple restaurants for a progressive dinner. A lot of the restaurants are closed for lunch though, which is how we ended up here. It's a lot larger than it looks. There's a really cute covered outdoors area in the back with a stage for performances. There were only a few diners there for lunch on a Friday so it was easy to grab a spot. I got a skinny strawberry margarita, it made me happy to see a skinny version of a flavored margarita on the menu. It has a sugar rim and was delicious. It's on the sweet side and I'd definitely get it again. I requested it without soda water. For my main I got the salmon bowl. I wouldn't get this again, but it's because the base is mainly fried wontons. I thought it would be a scattering of fried wontons but nope, it was a hefty portion. I didn't eat most of the fried wontons because I'm trying to be healthy. It's a delicious dish, just not for me. Service was great, but we were an easy table because we were chatting the entire time. I enjoyed our meal here, so we will definitely be back!
