We made dinner reservations here weeks ago. Bon Appétit Restaurant & Marina Bar is a landmark waterfront restaurant in Dunedin. It is known for its panoramic views of St. Joseph Sound, fresh seafood, and American/European cuisine since 1976. It offers both indoor dining with reservations and outdoor seating at the marina cafe, with options for lunch, dinner, and special diets, plus a full bar and live music. The atmosphere is considered sophisticated yet relaxed, I was surprised the by 8 o'clock. Everybody had emptied out.. We sat at a round table facing the sunset, beautiful. Miguel waited on us, he was attentive. Six of us ordered delicious seafood. I really enjoyed my Aji tuna, my husband, his grouper sandwich, friends, the oysters, the octopus and lobster roll. Portions were generous prices were reasonable and presentation was gorgeous. We celebrated a birthday and our table enjoyed a complementary glass of Prosecco. We weren't rushed and happy to be able to enjoy a relaxing dinner.

Came here with my girlfriend for dinner after dark. We had the best table inside--in the corner of the full-glass wall, but we couldn't see the water. Bummer. That would have been amazing! The restaurant has great water views if you come during the day. They also have an extensive outdoor area with a bar and live music, which is on the parking lot side. Our server, whose name I didn't catch, has been there about 40 years. The menu is a classic American upscale menu with many options. I ordered the crab and artichoke salad and we split a side of the mushroom risotto. I also had a dirty martini, which was generous. They brought rolls and butter, as well. The salad was DELICIOUS and the crab on it was generous. I only ate half and took the rest home for lunch the next day. It had brioche toasts that were so good! The mushroom risotto was meh, in my opinion. We also shared the flourless chocolate cake, which was huge and delicious, came with sliced strawberries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream with, I think, chopped pistachios. A good date spot or special night out.

We came here for our anniversary. Was nice to be able to make reservations and have our request met for a window seat so we could watch the beautiful sunset. Service was on it- always stopping by to check on us. The fish spread for the appetizer was quite decent--nothing extraordinary, but what you'd expect anywhere along Florida's coast. The real highlight was the lively bar area, which seemed to buzz with energy as the sun dipped below the horizon. We took a leisurely stroll out to the water's edge, capturing breathtaking photos of the sunset that painted the sky in hues of gold and rose. It's clear this spot enjoys stunning sunsets every evening. We're already planning our return on a Friday or Saturday night to experience the magic again, especially because they have a bagpiper who serenades the sunset, adding a touch of enchantment to an already picturesque scene.

To celebrate 44 years of marriage we chose Bon Apetit for its view of the Gulf & past experiences. We wanted to eat at a classy restaurant, and Bon Apetit seemed the perfect place. We were seated by the window, next to an empty corner table. Unfortunately the couple who eventually occupied that spot watched YouTube or other videos on their phones and we heard numerous times the wedding music in those videos. They were less distracting than the two couples next to us. Their loud conversations made it impossible for us to hear each other as we spoke quietly to one another. We finally abandoned our conversation and took out our smart phones. The food was okay. My husband's ribeye was tough and chewy. It was medium more than the requested medium rare. He thoroughly enjoyed his mashed potatoes, and I enjoyed mine. The butternut squash was the best I have ever had. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Our server was adequate. He took our orders. Someone else delivered our steaks. We do not recall him returning until it was time to pay the bill. This was a less than memorable way to spend our anniversary.

Very rarely do I ever get taken back by a restaurant, it's super rare. But the time I had at Bob Appétit was phenomenal. It's my moms favorite restaurant, and I can absolutely see why. The ambience, the music, the food, the service, the VIEW... it was all incredible. We set a reservation for 530pm. Which gave us plenty of time to prepare for sunset! Their dining room inside is nestled with perfect sight on the water. I'm from out of town, but this is a Gem in the Dunedin. Aka little Ireland. Super close to downtown Dunedin too! We all had a few drinks; Chai Manhattan, Aperol spritz, champagne. Etc. A few of the entrees that were ordered, because we share our bites with each other were: The 14oz Ribeye, Lobster Tail, Bouillabaisse, Grilled Salmon, French Onion Soup (BEST I EVER HAD) Our server, Michael, was very accommodating as we saw it was extremely busy at the restaurant. He showed us in full detail, the specials of the night & described them eloquently. I was very impressed with his enthusiasm & delivery. We didn't go hard on desserts, as we each had our own $3 dessert shooter, all varied in flavors, shared of course. The restaurant is big on shareables it seemed, if thats your style or restaurant!! I will have to come back & celebrate more intimate date nights here. I was completely impressed with everything. I attached a few sights to further describe my experience. kindly, GTB

A little too chilly to sit outside last night, so chose the indoor bar. What a treat! We're from Boston and travel down here often - tonight's entertainment was brought to us by Bobby from Boston! Great to trade stories, watch the bartending show and have a delicious meal! The food. The ambiance, and the service were all outstanding. This is a must try if you are in Dunedin!

We came to Bon Appetit for the views, and left feeling pleasantly surprised! We made reservations, but there were plenty of available tables on a Sunday night. The menus are on iPads and a little hard to navigate at first. We ordered our drinks, then headed out on the dock to snag some sunset pictures. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, which came in an oversized martini glass, so fun! For dinner, I ordered the Sole, which was de-boned at the table and cooked perfectly. We decided to share crème brulee for dessert, which was slightly burnt but overall good with the fresh berries on the side. Our server, Cameron, was friendly and attentive! They do have a dedicated parking lot which was confusing to get to, but super convenient!

Oh this was amazing! Right on the water and an amazing view of the sunset. Parking is not a problem. There's a free lot across the park if their lot is full. I hear brunch is also very good. I got the fish and they deboned it table side and the lemon sauce was soooo good. I will be back to get the fish.

French onion soup

Looked for a restaurant on the water and thanks to yelp found this place. Very welcoming friendly staff. They are professional servers, nice location great atmosphere inside. Ordered the escargot and it was a miss. Some people like curry but my opinion, don't add it to escargot doesn't belong. French onion soup was very salty along with everything else I ordered . 5 star service 3 star food. Won't be back, you might like it But not my cup of tea.

ve eaten at a lot of nice restaurants, and I'd rate the food here 4 stars--it wasn't bad, but it also wasn't something that made me say, "Oh my god, this is the best ever." What really makes this restaurant stand out is the view--it's absolutely stunning. The drinks were great, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Overall, a nice experience, and I'd come back more for the atmosphere than the food!

The staff was very helpful and answered all of my questions, from parking details to resort fees. Since my friends were also staying at the hotel, I requested to be on the same floor if availability allowed. I was pleasantly surprised to find that we were placed directly across the hall from each other--thank you to the staff for accommodating that request! The staff was friendly overall, and check-in was easy. The lobby is located on the sixth floor, which is a bit unique but not an issue. Parking is included in the price, and the in-and-out access to the lot was a great perk. I stayed in a room on the 10th floor with a pool view and was pleasantly surprised to with an ocean view too. It was great to enjoy coffee on the balcony! The room was clean and spacious. That said, the desk chair was noticeably scuffed on the back, and the bathroom mirror had scratches on the glass--both items that could use replacing. The hotel itself was quiet at night, which made for a restful stay. The next morning, I tried the breakfast buffet, which was disappointing. There were no hot food options such as eggs or oatmeal, and the coffee was not very good. While I was able to find something to eat, the breakfast offerings could definitely be improved. Overall, I would stay here again when visiting Clearwater Beach, though I would likely skip the breakfast buffet next time. One thing to note is that during busy seasons, the elevators--especially between the parking area, lobby, and guest rooms--can get crowded, which may result in longer wait times. I did not stay during busy season but it is something to consider if you come in the summer.

I was not expecting the garden or all the statues. I came here for the Lobster Festival so I had a chance to walk around. Both gardens are spectacular. I think they are the highlight of this events center. Since I wasn't here for a normal event, I didn't get the full vision of what it could look like. The inside area was spacious and nice as well. Everything is really clean and the building seems well taken care of. There are a million photo ops here for a wedding or dinner type event. All the Grecian details make a spectacular backdrop. From the outside, the building doesn't look like much. I think that's what makes the inside even more shocking. The parking lot is crumbling a little. There was a cone in the middle of a lane so people wouldn't drive over the hole. This is definitely an instance of don't judge a book by its cover. I would suggest coming and seeing this place in person if you are looking to book an event.

We had called to make a same-day reservation about an hour before departure. All phone lines were busy, so we left a voicemail. I was expecting them to get back to us the next business day, but they actually called us back within 20 minutes. Their responsive customer service enabled us to figure out our plans, head over to the dock, get a last-minute ticket, and enjoy a beautiful sunset dinner on the Gulf for our first evening in Clearwater. Pro tip: If you do know your plans ahead of time, book earlier to get a better price. Prices rise as seats fill up. Tickets without the dinner are also available and still include drinks (but with a four drink limit). We got our tickets at the ticket window on the dock. It was a little past 7pm and people were already lined up and starting to board. When we purchased our tickets, they asked if we were celebrating anything (we weren't) and if we had any food allergies (we didn't). We then got in line with the rest of the guests, and it was a smooth intake/boarding process. As we boarded the boat, we were greeted by the friendly crew and they snapped a picture of our embarkation (available for purchase later in the evening, or included if you buy the $35 celebration package). As we walked into the dining room, the buffet was already open and people were filling their plates. We were seated at our private table and our server, Karen, greeted us immediately and took our drink orders. Karen was amazing! She explained to us how the "Free Bar at Sea" worked and showed us the drink menu. She was really speedy at fulfilling drink orders and gave us great cocktail recommendations to try. We really felt taken care of all night. During dinner, a crew member came around with the printed embarkation photo in a souvenir frame available for purchase (~$25). We opted not to purchase the photo, and I appreciate that they weren't pushy about it. There was so much food at the buffet. There was tomato basil soup (our soup of the day), a Caesar salad, pesto chicken, honey truffle Dijon potatoes, fresh veggies, Boursin salmon, portobello beef, pasta Florentine, and dinner rolls. Though plentiful and lavishly presented (complete with dish labels), food was a 3/5. The potatoes and beef were super salty, while the pasta was super bland. Out of the proteins, I thought the salmon was cooked the best, and I enjoyed the flavor of its creamy Boursin white asparagus sauce. For dessert, we had our choice between a strawberry cheesecake and chocolate truffle cake, which was a rich and luxurious way to end the meal. Cruise route - 3.5/5. I've been on other dinner cruises in other cities and those have been more informational with the sights. I suppose this was more of a scenic cruise (primarily for the water and sunset) than a tour-type cruise, and maybe in Clearwater there aren't really any sights to point out, but I would've liked to hear some narration or identification of landmarks, wildlife, etc. from the captain or other staff members during the cruise. It also seemed like we were going in circles to cruise around the Gulf until sunset. Service - 5/5. Karen was superb, and every staff member we interacted with was kind and pleasant. Guests who noted that they were celebrating something received personalized messages on their dessert plates that said, "Happy Birthday," "Happy Anniversary," etc. The DJ also gave the celebrants special shoutouts. Don't forget to tip - there was a $10 gratuity (per person) added to the check at the end of the night - but the crew definitely works hard to earn their keep. Vibe - 5/5. The dining room on the lower level felt fancy. The dance floor on the upper level felt like a party. The outside deck was where you could enjoy the water, watch the sunset, and turn on vacation mode. Between eating dinner, enjoying the open bar, and watching the sunset, the two hours flew by - we hardly had any time to dance! (But don't worry, we got some line dances in there.) When the party was over and we disembarked, we were provided with a sweet final goodbye from the crew, complete with a warm chocolate chip cookie (my favorite kind of party favor)! This was a kind and tasty gesture and representative of the hospitality Yacht StarShip provided all night. I recommend Yacht StarShip for the quality service and stunning sunset views.
