It's a beautiful space and they have everything you need to perfect your event. Nancy and Nikki are true professionals. They coordinate the event with you. They know exactly what questions to ask, and they have been doing this for years. Working with them was seamless and stress free. On the day of the wedding, every item was set out perfectly per our vision, the venue was set up per plan, and the entire event went smoothly. The food was incredible and the service impeccable. We opted for a buffet, but since the servers still serve the food, the line never grew. The bar never had a line either. The staff checked on us multiple times throughout the event and kept everyone's glasses full. In short, these people know what they are doing. It was flawless. What a treat. We booked a Valentine's Day dinner and were not disappointed. They had a special limited theme oriented menu that was great. I had the Filet Mignon my partner had the Crab Cakes. My steak was cooked a bit more than I like (I ordered rare, it was all but medium rare) and the Crab cakes were well prepared and tasty. The Old Fashioned I ordered was biting and fresh. Celeste was our server and she was fantastic. She well paced or meal and was just the right attentive. We started out with the grilled octopus and raw oysters. All fresh and delicious. Dinner, my husband ordered the ribeye steak, absolutely hands down delicious. A perfect Friday afternoon, sitting out on the deck, enjoying the water views. Our server Rya made us feel right at home. We told her we were on a four-day weekend from Pennsylvania and she made us feel very welcome. She explained the menu to us and answered all of our questions. We sat at a large round table with a view of the harbor. A lot of our party went out on the pier to watch the sunset. We started with bread service and the 1976 salad. It saddens me to write a bad review for Bon Appetit. My family and I have enjoyed Bon Appetit for many years. Unfortunately, we had an absolute terrible service experience last night on Valentines Day. Of all the days, my wife encountered a combative male server in the outside dining area around 7pm. The server snapped at my wife when she asked to wait in reviewing the menu until i got to the table. He said "I will review the menu now" and later asked my wife to "chill out lady" when she asked him to wait again. I was up the street helping my daughter find a parking space because parking was nuts. When I got to the table my wife was actually shaking because she was so angry After she told me what happened I told her we should go. We are not spending $500 on a ruined dining experience. As we began to walk out my wife told the server "don't worry, we are leaving". The server said to my wife "what did I do and said a name but covered his name tag". Crazy! Bon Appetit, we have spent a good amount of money for good food, but we have always loved the experience more. Sad to say, but we will not be back read more

Thank goodness for a fabulous sunset, good service from Sara, and the Bouillabaisse! Met a few friends in Dunedin and we decided to eat here and watch the sunset- once the sun went down, the heat lamps came on and we were HOT! The place was packed, so I'm sure the restaurant is a staple (apparently for almost 50 years). Our starters were mostly fantastic- they were sides, but we made them starters- highly recommend the truffle fettuccine, brussel sprouts, and mushroom risotto. We also got the shrimp special- and it was nothing special. Then we ordered a couple of dinners to share amongst the three of us- get the bouillabaisse! The trout almandine special was okay and the cauliflower picatta should be avoided. It's worth the visit for the sunset or on a gorgeous afternoon to grab a drink with friends on the Gulf- but the food was hit and miss. We will try it again for lunch someday soon. read more

I ordered the Osso Bucco on top of sweet potato with asparagus. The dish was a 4 out of 5 only because a few bites were dry but most was excellent, very meaty, very little to no fat. Dessert was the Crème Brûlée. It was not a small portion. Very delicious. Husband had Bouilliabase which was full of seafood, mostly mussels, and he said it was excellent. Dessert was Key Lime Pie, also delish. Service was very good. Our waitress very astute. The dining area was nice. We sat at the window, inside, overseeing the Gulf. Although air conditioned, we were seated next to a very sunny window. It was quite hot. Loved the pianist. That topped it off for this 40th anniversary dinner celebration. read more

I dined last night at Bon Appetit Restaurant for my first time. The dining area right on the water is breathtaking! There was a live piano player the entire evening inside the restaurant: great ambiance. At the start they bring fresh warm bread with butter and herbed olive oil to the table. The variety of the bread was diverse as well- very tasty. I ordered the french onion soup for starters: it was very flavorful and tasty- I loved it. For my entree I had the Dover sole dinner. It was delicious: de-boned at the table. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and well as the fingerling potatoes and both were not drowned oil or overly salty- a plus for me. For dessert I had the key lim pie that was also very good and came with raspberry sorbet with fresh whipped cream. Overall it was a very enjoyable and tasty meal with lovely environment. I would definitely return here for a meal. I dined inside, but they also have a lovely on the water outside dining with bar area too. It looked to be more casual and more of regulars. read more

Finally the table next to us gave us his tablet to read the menu and called a waiter over to help us. When we did order after our salad was served we had to call the waiter over to ask for bread. The food was good but not up to the old Bon Appetit standards. They have removed the after dinner coffee drinks from the menu. Miss that part of our evening.
