Our server, Ryan was amazing, as well as his trainee, Kristen. They treated us very special and gave great recommendations. We enjoyed the New England seafood and linguini. The salads and bread with dipping olive oil and herbs are a meal in themselves! We had a beautiful view out our window at our table read more

Bon Appetit - View from our table - New American Near Me - Dunedin, Florida

We stayed at the Best Western hotel at the marina, and CHOSE to have lunch/dunch at Bon Appetit 3 times (which, for us, is a rave testament to the diversity and deliciousness of this restaurant). All 3 times, we chose to go to the external site, overlooking the water, at "odd times" so we could avoid the enthusiastic crowd, who love the bar, the music, the raucous atmosphere. Service was friendly, efficient, and well-done. The seafood was excellent. The view was fantastic. And we could STILL hear the live music from the bar, behind us --- albeit with less decibels, since we were many yards away. Great choice of location. Nice restaurant. Fabulous panoramic view of the water. read more

Came in here the other weekend, and I have to say I was not that impressed. Coming in however, I loved the layout of the restaurant and that we had a view of the ocean. I loved the views from the inside of the restaurant. But the food here, I was not impressed with. To start, we ordered some drinks and the oysters. The drink I got was great, it was a spicy margarita and I loved it. The oysters were good, but some looked a bit off, so we didn't touch them. My bf and I ordered the French onion soup each and the ribeye to share. We were trying to eat light and thought it would be perfect. The soups were great but the steak and the sides it came with, not so much. The steak was cooked perfectly, however it lacked flavor. The coffee seasoning( I forget what it was) just did not have the best taste, it was missing something in my opinion. I believe it was paired with best and sweet potato mash, and they did not compliment the dish either. I looked over at my sisters plate which was the land and sea, and I could tell that the filet medallions looked so dry and were over cooked and she confirmed it. I also tried there risotto it came over, and it was not great. However the scallops were good. If I were to come back here it would not be for a steak, I probably shoulda have known better and ordered an entree with seafood but at the time the steak sounded delicious and I've had one that sounded similar to this one before, but it was not at all the same in taste. read more

We went here for a Sunday brunch. We got here right before two, which is when the brunch ends. So our server was lovely enough to check to make sure we could still get the brunch. The menu is on iPads, which is a little different to navigate. I think if older folks are not comfortable with technology that might be a problem. I was fine with it after hitting the screen a few times. Lol. I ordered the lobster egg bake which was incredible. It was set upon a sea of lobster bisque. Again it was absolutely phenomenal. My husband ordered the crabcakes Benedict, which was also good, however it was placed upon a pancake, which threw us off a bit. We also ordered the waffle, which was incredible. The fruit was a little shriveled up, so it was not us physically, appealing as it could've been. But the taste and the whipped cream the homemade whipped cream was really really good. We ordered a couple of cocktails the watermelon And the cucumber both were really refreshing. We were able to sit right on the water, which was lovely. It was a bit cold but honestly, it was a beautiful scenery. I would recommend this restaurant for sure. read more

To start this off my brothers (one of which owns property in dunedin) have been here quite a few times. I have not ordered up a full entree so my experience will be based on mainly being outside. It is a pretty cool spot right on the edge of the coast and kinda funny where there is a bar and seating in the middle of a valet drop off. It is easiest coming here driving a cart since there is pretty limited spots. So either a ride share / uber / whatever is the best way to get here. The views are great at sunset, the staff is pretty good and the drinks are not to shabby. If it is uber busy you might have trouble catching your waiters attention but it was not really bad. The only thing i could ding them on is what you ordered and what shows up on the bill can vary but that was a super busy night. Also has live music now and again but can be a bit loud if you are in the outdoor bar near the parking where they setup. Overall a pretty cool experience and we went here about each night over an entire week. read more

This establishment has a long history and has been a local landmark as long as I can remember. My dad recalls he interviewed for a job as a physician in Dunedin in 1989 and this is the restaurant they took him to. As a local, I have been here on a number of occasions , for dinners and for functions. In my opinion it is a great restaurant and has improved over the years . I dined here tonight with a party of four and was very impressed. The location on the water, indoor and outdoor dining, location , and ambiance has always been a top selling point and continues to be. The service was A++ . The food ? That's where it truly shines. Absolutely fantastic drinks, appetizers, soups , salads , main course. I had the shrimp cocktail, diver sea scallops , and brussel sprouts . I have a second home in midtown manhattan and dine out more then I dine in and I can say this venue rivals anything I have had in any of the top rated restaurants in the US or around the world. The scallops were the best I ever had. Having said that I was almost tempted to give Bon Appetit 4 stars instead of 5 because quite honestly the price for some of the items on the menu , If not most , are well above what should be reasonable for this area. My advice to management would be to do a better job of due diligence in setting your pricing. I say this also based on the volume of customers I noticed tonight which should be higher based on the location , the season, and the unbelievable fantastic dining experience at this venue. There is however a point of diminishing returns . Don't price yourself out of the market. read more

A solid place if you're looking for a nice dinner that's not super trendy. This is definitely a place that the older generation likes to go. I feel like I'd bring my in laws here. A friend wanted to come for her birthday dinner, which is how I ended up with about six couples starting our night here. I'm surprised they make the lobster roll on the lighter side. It was like an open faced sandwich with fruit. The actual lobster roll was really good, but the fruit didn't really hit the spot for me. They do this so it is on the lighter side. If I go back, I'd request a different side. I got a dirty martini and it was pretty strong and good. I would get this again. The service here was great. I do have to say that our server was on point. So this isn't the normal place I'd go, but if I was dining with someone older for a special occasion, I would bring them here. read more

I'm sure it has a lovely view but we came after dusk. I'm guessing it's really what you're paying the extra price for ... The libations and entree's were prepared well. I had the grouper .... My dinner mates came with gnocchi covered in a butternut squash sauce .. divine The staff was pleasant and helpful. Don't forget the keylime pie for dessert read more

Fabulous restaurant on the water. Able to sit inside or sit at the outside bar. Make sure to have your sun glasses if you're outside. We sat outside with amazing service. Ordered 3 appetizers, bacon wrapped shrimp that was very good! Prosciutto flatbread and beef flatbread. They tasted the same. Nothing fabulous. Pricing is pretty standard for the area. read more

Beautiful view, great food, all around great experience. Justin was a great server! Sara at the hostess station was sweet!

Highlights - Great view of the inter-coastal sitting on the patio for lunch on Monday, May 11. Lowlights - The experience of dining outside on the patio has lost its luster. The European feel is gone, the attention by the service staff is gone. The flow of service was a bumpy road. We ordered oysters on the half shell, delicious. After that we had dirty dishes sitting on the table, service disappeared, request for a second glass of wine ... 20 minutes or longer. When leaving, my friends said I had a large bird poop stain on my new white capris, the stain would not wash out. I emailed Bon Appetit and after three days ... no response. We have been having lunch at Bon Appetit for years, we would be so excited to go ... such a great experience ... no more. Au revoir et meilleures salutations. Mags Update,May 19, still no response from Bon Appetit from email sent to them on May 12. Emailed the following: Dear BonAppetit, We returned yesterday to Bon Appetit for our annual birthday celebration for Mimi, our French mother, who loved your restaurant and has since passed. We continue the tradition. (The three women who stayed on the patio while others left, 1:30P) The highlights of the lunch: - Service by Bryce - very pleasant, attentive & genuine - Cuisine - "Brown Derby" Crab Louie, Bon Appetit Cold Smoked Salmon ---- Very Good - View - waterfront, very nice - Not Happy w/ Bird Poop on my new white capris, poop stain would not wash out - Pile Driving for new sea wall, unfortunate and not under your control The Bird Poop Stain has soured us on Bon Appetit ... plus a few other things. We normally would return on our last day here, Friday. In the previous years we would be so happy and giddy to return ... not this year. The experience of dining outside on the patio has lost its luster. We were one of only two or three tables outside and the flow of our meal was off, the second glass of wine requested did not arrive for over 20 minutes. The offer of champagne (although nice) hit a flat note because nothing else was moving. Then when I stood up and my table mates said I had a 3" circle of bird poop on the back of my white pants, argh. Done, over. Bon Voyage Bon Appetit. read more

Made a reservation for our family group of ten for my daughter's birthday. Was asked when making reservation with Tatiana and told her "Birthday". Text confirmation also asked what occasion was and again said Birthday. Miguel, our server, was difficult to understand due to his heavy accent. The restaurant's highlighted dishes on Miguel's tablet presentation were the restaurant's highest priced menu items. Quite bizarre was a bagpiper who came marching in playing the bagpipes as we were beginning to eat. Still don't understand what all that was, except to announce 4 men who were in gold colored sportcoats, and were golfers. The overall noise level in the restaurant is LOUD, VERY LOUD, not expected for a 'high-end' restaurant, but there it is. My wife correctly asked me why the restaurant asked what our occasion was when making reservations, and again when confirming reservations, when restaurant did nothing. Good question. Yes, the view is nice and this restaurant's reputation is overrated. Bring money, lots of money to pay the bill. Restaurant was crowded, very crowded, on a Monday night. Recommended by my son and I thank him for the recommendation, and we had a good, not an exceptional time. and I won't return with a large family party in the future. read more

We chose Bon Appetit as our wedding and reception venue and we could not be more impressed with the entire event! First of all, Bon Appetit can make your planning and preparation so low stress if you opt to allow them to decorate the venue. It's a beautiful space and they have everything you need to perfect your event. Nancy and Nikki are true professionals. They coordinate the event with you. They know exactly what questions to ask, and they have been doing this for years. Working with them was seamless and stress free. On the day of the wedding, every item was set out perfectly per our vision, the venue was set up per plan, and the entire event went smoothly. The food was incredible and the service impeccable. We opted for a buffet, but since the servers still serve the food, the line never grew. The bar never had a line either. The staff checked on us multiple times throughout the event and kept everyone's glasses full. In short, these people know what they are doing. It was flawless. I highly recommend this one-stop shop for your next event. I will use them in the future for any event I need to plan after this amazing experience. read more

What a treat. We booked a Valentine's Day dinner and were not disappointed. They had a special limited theme oriented menu that was great. I had the Filet Mignon my partner had the Crab Cakes. My steak was cooked a bit more than I like (I ordered rare, it was all but medium rare) and the Crab cakes were well prepared and tasty. The Old Fashioned I ordered was biting and fresh. Celeste was our server and she was fantastic. She well paced or meal and was just the right attentive. Overall an A- and we highly recommend this to all looking for that special High-end experience. read more

Our server Sierra was so attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. We started out with the grilled octopus and raw oysters. All fresh and delicious. Dinner, my husband ordered the ribeye steak, absolutely hands down delicious. Dessert was a chocolate mousse. I was pretty stuffed but room for this! Delicious! Coffee was very good. Drinks were generous. Our waiter, Brian was attentive and knowledgeable! Been here many times, food is usually outstanding but was disappointing this time. The lobster meat add-on did not taste like Lobster at all, or even any shellfish very very flavorless. The Maple glazed half duckling was not a half duckling at all, no breasts just two leg quarters, which is clearly not a half duckling. Service was spotty, kept having to look around for my waiter, however they were very accommodating to my service dogs and this is the first time out of maybe 15 visits over the years that was disappointing. read more

I have been here twice with my girlfriend, first time outside second time inside. Food was very good, I ate the pistachio covered sea bass and was not disappointed. The waiter Bryce was a phenomenal waiter and spent a lot of time with us explaining different menu items and recommendations. Came here for Thanksgiving Day buffet and hate to say the food didn't fully wow me, especially for the expensive price. The view and the service were both wonderful, though. Overpriced salmon $39 with ice cold Curry vegetables which were mainly frozen peas, I literally go to Pineapple Jack's get their salmon special for $15 and it's amazing! With two hot sides!!, crappy fake service, waited over 10 minutes for a piss warm IPA & I don't want to look at an iPad I'm not a two-year-old very tacky, they take away a lot from the beautiful atmosphere with their tackiness & iPads & other electronics, when I order my food just write it down and when I get my check put it in a book and hand it to me it's supposed to be a private transaction people don't need to see when I tip a good server 200% or a crappy server what they deserve. You people have ruined the dining experiences of the past shame on you all. They were name tags and bow ties WTF And they're selling restaurant t-shirts I mean how greedy and tacky can you be WOW!
