We joined the walk up list for clear sky via their website around 11am on a Saturday, and our table was ready within 10 minutes. We were seated as soon as we arrived, and throughout our visit the service was really good. My friend and I were having a very hard time deciding, and when we asked the server, she flat out told us that the two things we were torn between were awesome and we should order both and split them. We got the shrimp and grits and the lobster Benedict. On their own, the grits weren't anything special, although they were texturally great. Now when you add the shrimp and gravy . . . This dish is a whole other deal. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, and the gravy was super well balances. It had the perfect level of spice. The lobster Benedict had a perfectly poached egg, and it worked so well. The mornay sauce was a lovely touch. I'd definitely order it again, but I would also definitely order the shrimp again. Long story short, our server was right, they were both amazing. I also got a standard Bloody Mary, which was solid. I would definitely go back to this place. It's got an upbeat, family friendly atmosphere, and I think it's a great spot for locals and out of towners alike. It's also well priced. Went here on day 1 of our vacation in Clearwater on a Wednesday afternoon. Was recommended by a staff member of the resort we stayed at. Ambience was like your regular breakfast place or diner, but definitely family friendly. We were there with our 8 month old baby boy and felt comfortable. Food tasted pretty okay, we ordered coconut shrimp, fish n chips and chicken tacos for brunch! The fish was a little undercooked and the batter was still a bit wet inside. Other items were not bad. For drinks, I ordered their popular pomegranate mimosa which came really flat (no bubblies) and in a wine glass! I sent it back and got a mojito instead - which tasted a lot better! Additionally, we were not aware the breakfast menu closes at 12 pm and we were already seated, so kind of felt obligated to order from the lunch menu at around 12.05 pm! It was too early for a sea food lunch for us! We saw the table next to us had ordered breakfast just a few minutes before us but we were denied because it was already past noon. This is a very nice restaurant, with good food and service. If you have hearing issues (my husband), be forewarned that the patio and inside restaurant are incredibly loud. Our waiter, David, was delightful and very knowledgeable about the GF items, and was helpful in accommodating me. We started with by sharing the grilled octopus, which was arguably the best I've ever had -- it was very tender, and not a bit chewy. We also had mussels, which were garlicky and delicious, but I was so into the octopus and chimichurri, I only had two mussels! One diner had the blackened mixed grill, which was highly recommended by David, and it was exceptional, with deep flavor profiles, but not overwhelming blackening. Two diners had the grouper sandwich -- my husband said it was the best grouper sandwich he's had (which he confirmed the next day, after having one at Frenchy's). My dinner was the pan seared grouper, which was absolutely excellent -- the butter lemon sauce was rich and almost tasted like hollandaise. The live music is really professional and good. I was really surprised at how much talent the guitarist had. The food was also really delicious compared to some other places we went to. Seems like a lot of restaurants have the exact same thing, but this place also has an Asian flare. I got the dumplings and they tasted homemade, the miso sauce was really delicious. My husband got the dynamite shrimp which is good if you need some food for drinking, it has a large portion, more than just for two. I got the wagyu sliders and the lobster Mac and the sliders don't look like much but they are super delicious! Definitely recommend them. Overall I was super stuffed beyond capacity with them and the lobster Mac. My husband got the steak frites, which in all honesty I would not recommend. The steak was so incredibly chewy and overall not fun to eat. The sauce was good but not enough to compensate for the meat. The waitress was really nice and overall we're had a fantastic time. We visited on Monday, MLK Day, around 1 PM and were still hoping to catch the brunch menu. Our server, Nico, was fantastic and brought out a special menu with reduced breakfast/brunch options--which turned out to be perfect and satisfied our brunch cravings. We ordered the kitchen sink skillet, the corned beef hash, and the sweet buttermilk pancakes. Everything arrived hot and fresh and was absolutely delicious. We also loved that there's a full bar--I tried the Clear Sky spiked latte, and it was the perfect drink. Definitely a great place to visit while spending time at Clearwater Beach. Clear Sky Café in Clearwater definitely lives up to the hype. It was packed by the time we arrived, so I'm glad we made reservations ahead of time. The energy was great, and you can tell it's a popular spot for a reason. They have an awesome Bloody Mary bar that looked amazing--two of my friends ordered from the walk-up bar and both looked and tasted great. You even get little snacks as garnish, which was a fun touch. I ordered the Espress Ya Self, their take on an espresso martini, and it was okay--not my favorite, but still enjoyable. We started with the Beignets & Berries as an appetizer, and wow... absolutely delicious. Fresh, soft, flaky, light, and not overly sweet. The fresh berries really tied it together. Honestly, I should've ordered more. For my entrée, I had the fried chicken croissant with a side of two eggs over medium and their smoked Gouda grits. Everything was great, though the grits could've used a little more Gouda. Others at the table ordered the open-faced biscuits and gravy, which was enjoyed, the lox & bagel (fresh but a little underwhelming presentation--would've loved the cream cheese already spread), the shrimp and grits with great flavor from the sauce, and you can never go wrong with a ribeye steak and eggs. We went to Clear Sky Café on Sunday for brunch as a group of five. The overall service was fine, but our server in particular took his time getting to and from the table, which made the whole visit feel longer than it needed to be. They had a Bloody Mary bar with all the accoutrements, but very little actual vodka, even with Tito's, it still tasted weak. The food itself was pretty good, and everything came out at the same time, which we appreciated. We sat outside and the weather was perfect, which helped smooth out some of the rough edges. Parking was mixed, I parked out front and didn't have to pay, but most of my group did, so keep that in mind. One positive worth noting: they do offer a military discount, which is always appreciated. Overall, it was a satisfying experience, but the slow pacing and lack of attentiveness from our server kept it from being great. If they tighten up the service, it could easily be a solid brunch spot. read more

We started off with the crab hush puppies, which were delicious and the ahi tuna nachos, which were pretty good! I had the sushi bowl which was delicious and the tuna was perfect! Then the other people my party had the grouper sandwich and the lobster Caesar salad. The grouper sandwich was yummy and the lobster on the lobster salad was super fresh, but the Caesar dressing wasn't amazing and had something a little bit off about it. The inside had been redone recently due to the hurricanes last year, and it was very beautiful inside. Definitely a small space, but it didn't feel too small with how they had redone it. We've been to all the other Clear Sky locations in the area, but this was our first visit to the Clearwater café.....and it did not disappoint! Right when we walked in, we were greeted warmly. The place is small, quaint, and beautifully redecorated. It's great to see them back up and running after the hurricane. I started off with a happy hour drink -- a Don Q Coconut Rum with a splash of soda and pineapple juice. Absolutely delicious! My husband went with a simple half Sprite/half cranberry juice. For our appetizer, we had the Southwest Spring Rolls crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. I ordered the salmon, asked for it blackened with my soy glaze on the side, and they happily accommodated. My husband had the sesame chicken with fried rice, and it was equally tasty. Every year during our Clearwater vacation, we have a meal at Clear Sky and it never disappoints. We had a great experience, thanks to our server Rick who was very personable and attentive. I started off with a Margarita which was the best one I had during my vacation. For appetizers we started off with Ahi Tuna Nachos, the wontons were crispy with just the right amount of flavor. I had the Shrimp and Scallops, which was delicious. My husband had the Shrimp Scampi, my daughter had the Blackened Salmon BLT, my son had Short Rib and Gnocchi, and their friends had the California Burger and Sesame Fried Rice Chicken. The menu is very extensive but even with all the variety everyone's meal was done well. Everyone throughly enjoyed their meal. Every time I am in Clearwater I will be sure to visit Clear Sky. So I've been seeing this place for the longest time, and as usual, I didn't think much of it at first being a cafe and all, but infact they are actually versatile for a cafe! Clear Sky Cafe is definitely an easy-to-miss little joint around the corner that has an extremely versatile menu. It's got a good breakfast menu, and it has an even better lunch/dinner menu. It's got something for the simple eaters, and the more gourmet choices for those of us with a fancier set of tastebuds such as myself; A very impressive variety that I wasn't expecting coming in. The environment has a very classy but aquatic vibe to it that fits with Clearwater; it's kept clean, and the people working here are very friendly and sociable, both very good qualities needed when working in a tourist hotspot and a small town like Clearwater beach. This especially goes double for the bartender, CJ, that was taking care of customers at the bar. So I first tried one of the chef's soups of the day; In this case, Italian Wedding Soup. The portion was reasonably small so as to not to fill up a customer too quickly, but was appetizing all the same. The broth was flavorful, the meatballs were reasonably sized like they're supposed to be for a soup, and the vegetables were all fresh and tasted like they're supposed were fresh, and naturally grown and cut up. The preparation almost felt like I was looking at haute cuisine, but it actually tasted good, which is *saying* something. Next I tried their newest item; the Short Rib & Gnocchi from the Pastas & Bowls section. Ho-ly shit...It blew. My. Mind. The presentation was stellar, and the meat was well-braised, juicy and savory, and practically melt-in-your-mouth. Add onto the fact that it was complimented by plethora of flavors from the delectable gnocchi which enhanced the savory aspect of the meat, the heirloom tomatoes (which live up to their name) enhanced the wine-like taste to the broth, and the sautéed spinach (que the Popeye theme) which gave it a brief but nice subtle and pleasant leafy texture every now-and-then...This newly added dish is a masterpiece I would give anything to re-experience for the first time again. The fact that it takes them a-lot of time to prepare and serve this kind of food is actually a humongous green flag to me as it shows that quality above quantity, and the fact that they're always full even on weekdays is a testament to the quality and exemplary service of this gourmet restaurant disguising itself as a cafe. No wonder this place calls themselves Clear Sky; you walk out feeling clear and sunnier than ever after eating here. Of all of the places I dined while in FL for my recent work trip, this was by far my very favorite. Let's start with the ambiance. Who doesn't like a "beachside" cafe. Cute decor! Fast paced! People watching. There was life here and I was digging it. Next, service. It was on point. Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable but most of all one friendly human being. I hung on every word as she was dynamic, expressive, and she made a "busy coming across the bridge" story seem exciting as she knew she was arriving and going to make money! The food though, OMG, some of the best I have ever had small plate/app wise! We had dinner plans with our work folks, but I wasted no time ordering the Coconut Shrimp which were exceptional, Thai Chicken flatbread, the Hot Honey Pepperoni flat bread, and my husband got the tacos. All were divine, but that Thai Chicken flatbread was beyond exceptional. The fresh ginger on top was a solid choice for the peanut sauce and that chicken, which was amazing! I give this 5 stars, but I'd would gladly give them 20 more! Everything was top notch and I wished I could pack them up and bring the entire restaurant back home with me. It's perfect for brunch followed with a beach visit - there's an access point one block away. The indoor area is so nice! And they even have a patio if you have a pet! We had the their amazing maple glazed fried chicken (yesss you heard right!) it was perfectly crisp and filled with white meat! The waffles added the perfect amount of sweetness! First night in Clearwater, staying at the Sandpearl and of course I made dinner reservations at Clear Sky Cafe. I had the grouper dish with risotto and I am NOT disappointed.
