Totally worth it and a really great way to spend a Thursday evening. Service is always kind, I tend to go in a small group with the intention of chatting, hanging out, and eating a few bites while we wait for trivia to start. We get in well before trivia so we never have issues with seating, but it starts to fill up as 7 rolls around! The chive bites are a showstopper--my friends and I almost always do 2 orders or more, and we love the sauce and dip everything else in it as well. The boneless wings are delicious and not a bar's typical "chicken nugget"-esque wing, but rather a really great fried bite. Their lemon drop is $6 during happy hour, so how could I not pick that as my drink of choice? And their spicy basil udon with chicken or tofu is delicious every time. Last night when I was there, the owner, Michael, gave us our shots for coming 3rd place in trivia and he was super pleasant! The whole place seems to have tons of events (like a Survivor watchparty night I'd love to catch!!) and just the best vibe ever. Pride flags are abound and it's a really great spot. Worth stopping by! I came for the trivia but found myself wanting to come to do more trivia just to get those happy hour appetizers and that spicy basil udon :)

Back when I was vegan, this was such a reliable meal that was filling and delicious and even now that I'm not anymore, it still hits the spot. Their service always leaves a little something to be desired so this isn't a place to go if you're in a rush but I was glad to see they were still hosting lots of community events and drag race watch parties which always used to be lots of fun.

Several of us arrived early (and we had added a person between the reservation to the dinner time) but the restaurant was able to accommodate us with no issues and we were seated immediately! Plenty of street parking too around that time nearby. The restaurant was not crowded at that time, and overall quiet enough to encourage normal volume conversation. The waitress who served us was extremely great, very accommodating, giving us recs, and doing a great job keeping all our information organized. We ordered drinks, some appetizers, and several rounds of food. The starters came out a bit slow, but soon when all our entrees were out it was a ton of food! We also asked the waitress if she could just choose rolls for us with a given budget, and she did a great job! Everything tasted great. Overall great service and good food! I particularly loved the chicken katsu (huge portion!) and the sashimi. Highly recommend!

Hands down one of my fav. Kawa Ni in Westport. I recently went there for late lunch. Its the kind…read moreof atmosphere that feels trendy without trying too hard. Ive been there for dinner time as well, it's lively, loud in a good way, and immediately feels like somewhere you could stay for hours. I ordered the miso ramen, and it was honestly one of the most satisfying bowls of ramen I've had in Connecticut. The broth was the star of the dish its deep, rich, savory, and layered with that perfect balance of umami and subtle sweetness from the miso and a bit nitty form the sesame seeds. The noodles had the perfect texture: chewy, springy, and able to hold onto the broth beautifully. Nothing was overcooked or mushy . What impressed me most was how balanced the ramen was. Some ramen spots go overboard with salt or spice, but this bowl felt refined. Rich but not greasy. Flavorful but not overpowering. You could tell there was actual technique behind it. The portion size was also generous enough to leave completely full without feeling uncomfortable afterward. The service matched the food perfectly and so freaking sweet. I have trying to rec this all my coworkers

The decor is a lovely authentic izakaya with the wood paneling and everything. It's a beautiful homage to Japanese culture. Ok now menu. Lunch there is great but recommend going for the dinner menu over anything to have more options! The addictive cabbage is just as it says, addicting. It's acidic, savory and has the perfect crunch to it. The crab Rangoons are sooo good. They give you plenty of sauce and you can tell it's the good crab. The cold sesame noodles are perfect! A little bit of heat, a bunch of flavor. I'm drooling just thinking about it! The chili dumplings were good but a little too spicy for me! We also really enjoyed the kimchi carbonara and personally, I'm a sucker for udon noodles! And now the star of the show for me and something I've ordered three times now! The crab fried rice! The crab is so tender and buttery, like it actually melts in your mouth. And the pork belly chunks in it, also tender and delicious. I like dream of this dish every week! And the great thing is you can order the half size during dinner so you can try other things too! This spot is in my top 5 for 2026 so far! Please go try them asap!

So much better than flushing, Manhattan or Brooklyn dim sum restaurants, can't compare. What a gem! The last time i have this quality of dim sum was in Toronto over 20 years ago. ( I think you can't find same quality dim sum even in Hong Kong now because they all use precooked dim sum. ) Pig blood not the best but good. Everything large portion good price. Salty yolk buns, the buns is not as good but the salty yolk fillings are excellent. Must try the 叉燒酥 cha siu pastry, 鹹水角 fried sticky rice dumplings? I'm not sure about the translation but it's the best fresh crispy outside melt into the mouth, 腸粉 rice rolls, 牛筋 beef tendons sooo good,牛柏葉 beef tripes so soft. Siu mai are huge and perfect mix of pork and shrimp. You can't miss chicken feet. Everything so flavorful not salty.

I drove past it the first time, but the exterior is intriguing, with waterfalls and small ponds with koi fish out front that caught my attention on the second pass. The interior is large and classically decorated, the kind of dining room that was built to handle volume without feeling like a cafeteria. I noticed the koi fish out front have a quarter machine nearby that dispenses food, a small detail that tends to land well if you are visiting with kids. The overall setup is comfortable and well maintained, and the space gave the restaurant a presence that most Chinese restaurants in the area do not match. The dim sum is the main draw, and it is served until 3pm, so timing my visit accordingly was important. I ordered the har gow and shumai, both well executed and holding up against what I have found at comparable restaurants in Boston or New York. The chili oil is good and worth using liberally. The shrimp wonton noodle soup was a standout and worth ordering on its own. For those coming outside dim sum hours, the full menu covers a solid range of Cantonese dishes. I also tried the fried rice, salt and pepper squid, and chow fun, all of which performed well. The portions throughout were generous enough that ordering with a group and sharing made the most sense. On quieter days, the food quality is noticeably more consistent, which I experienced during my visit. For good dim sum in Connecticut and a Cantonese dining room that takes the food seriously, Oriental Bar and Grill is worth the effort of finding.
