I was excited to try a halal noodle restaurant but wasn't very impressed unfortunately. I definitely appreciate more halal options for different cuisines though and love to see more and more restaurants using halal meat. The chicken wings were nice and crispy, but the rest of the food was okay. The ramen broth was good, although I wish the description mentioned the strong ginger taste. The beef was dry but not bad overall. My husband had the udon noodles with beef and it had no taste...he used the sauce from the chicken wings to add flavor. We ordered glass noodles with shrimp to go and when we came home, it was chicken instead so that was really disappointing. Service was slow overall but the restaurant is clean and has a lot of seating and parking. Note they have high chairs but restrooms do not have changing tables. read more

I keep searching for great ramen. I tell you I really like this place. On ambiance, Inside is understated and fine. Service is adequate to friendly. They can get backed up waiting on you due to take out orders. I really enjoyed the 10 hour paitan. I tried the brisket and shrimp. Both additions were good. I also did pan fried shrimp dumplings which were also good. I imagine all of their food is good. Quality ingredients prepared well. You won't be sorry and I'll be back. read more

First, let me say I eat a lot of pho all over Connecticut. This is an excellent bowl of Pho. It has a rich broth that has a lot of flavor. How's the right amount of noodles they give you a very healthy portion. The price is extremely reasonable. The accoutrements were fresh and full of flavor. The staff was friendly and professional. The restaurant was clean and well decorated. This is excellent Pho for the money, if I lived closer, I would go more often. The only criticism I would offer is that the chicken could be sliced thinner, it's a thick piece of white meat, it's tender, but they're heavy for my for my liking and I would I would prefer a thinly sliced piece of meat. read more

I was so excited to try this place after it opened but hadn't had the opportunity yet. I ordered on my way home from work online which was within their time estimate for pickup. I arrive to the restaurant and was happy to see mask signage outside for those who enter. When I walked in I was greeted by an entire table of dirty dishes which kinda turned me off. There weren't any customers inside so I saw no reason for there to be dirty dishes on a table. My food was waiting for me when I arrived which was nice. I rung a bell to confirm which was a nice system especially since the staff member I spoke with was on the phone. As for the food, the fried chicken wontons were the right level of fried but not too greasy but contain barely any actual chicken filling. I was honestly surprised and disappointed. The drunken noodles were average in taste and flavor but my noodles were all stuck together and had to be cut so there was no way that I could have eaten them with chopsticks. I also ordered a Thai iced tea bubble which contain boba that were not the correct texture and the tea was slightly watered down. As the food wasn't terrible, I would consider revisiting this place if reviews improved but would probably visit the other similar places in town before returning here. read more

The food was delicious, the service was awful, and the server was listening to music and wearing AirPods all the time; I asked for a fork. She never brought it as a container, and she couldn't even listen, and she had no tables. We were the only ones. After having gotten to enjoy Hokkaido ramen for two weeks during a trip to Japan back in August, I was excited to get to eat at my favorite Japanese restaurant in Connecticut last weekend. Imagine my sadness by how much has changed in the past 10 months. Noodle House was dear to my heart for years. It must have recently been sold -- gone are the days of Hokkaido-style ramen. Half the menu has been slashed off, and the menu has become halal, meaning no pork. The new manager of the restaurant must not understand how deeply incorporated pork chashu is to Japanese ramen cuisine. The spicy mayo chicken appetizer has also gone downhill. Prior to menu "update", the spicy mayo sauce would cover the chicken pieces fully, to the point where it was nicely soaked in, and tasted amazing. Now, you'd have to ask for a side dish of it to dip your chicken into. At least the texture of the cooked chicken hasn't changed, but that's probably just a for-now situation. The boba tea recipe also seemed safe for the moment, along with the pretty and sweet decor the restaurant is styled with. The service was also lacking, in that you had to make an active effort to flag the waitress in order to get her attention whenever you needed anything. My friend and I sat ourselves down when we first came in after waiting 5 minutes for someone to seat us, and had to wait another 5-10 minutes just to get menus. Overall, this place has tanked in most areas since Eddie, the main server departed around last December. Do yourself a favor and seek out a more authentic Japanese restaurant to have ramen from. It's not worth the disappointment to eat here. read more

My first time eating here , I ordered the 10 hour broth ramen for take out and I was impressed with how great it tasted when packaged to-go. Some friends and I decided to try it out for eat-in. We split spicy edamame and KFC + pork chashu bao buns. I got the chicken katsu rice bowl + thai boba tea and my friends got the spicy miso ramen with chicken. Everything exceeded our expectations! Sometimes I really crave a big bowl of ramen (and not the kind that comes in a plastic package). We stopped by here for lunch while we were in the area. At first, there was no one working in the front and it seemed like they weren't even open. Someone came outside on our way out and waved us back in so I guess the staff was just in the back. I ordered the 10 hour broth ramen with pork belly and thought it was very good! The pork was tender, broth was flavorful and there were tons of noodles. My boyfriend wanted the donburi (rice bowl) with pork belly but they didn't have rice ready yet (we were there at least an hour after opening). Me and my boyfriend went there the other day and we both got the Spicy miso broth (vegetarian friendly). I got tofu and he got grilled chicken. I'm a big connoisseur of ramen, and really appreciate when it's done right. This was not that experience. I'll start with the positive. The ramen itself was cooked well and the broth was pretty good, but it stopped there. The other ingredients in the bowl either made no sense or were just there to add the illusion of some sort of Japanese flavor. For example, there were steamed carrot spirals...why? Why were those even in there? Also, picked ginger was added to the bottom of the bowl but it ended up altering the flavor of the broth. After all this, I could settle and say it was a decent bowl of ramen, but THAT EGG on top destroyed it. The soft-boiled egg in a ramen bowl is a delicacy meant to be savored. The egg I received was so hard boiled it was starting to turn gray on the inside. That egg should've never made it to the table. Wish I could've liked this place more but the ramen was a big disappointment. On a side note, the table next to me ordered some fried chicken that looked and smelled delicious, so I guess there's that. read more

Very casual set up. Came in on a Saturday night and it was not busy. We ordered a Beef Pho, Spicy Brisket Pho and a Pineapple Fried Rice. Overall everyone liked my Beef Pho. The Pineapple Fried rice was very disappointing. Onions were chopped into big pieces. And the whole dish was just tumeric over rice. It wasn't like any pineapple fried rice we ever had and wasn't a fan of it. The Beer Pho was good and the portion was reasonable. It had some kind if aromatic to it that I still can't put my finger on it. It doesn't taste like the pho like the ones I had in NYC. I wished the beef were like thin sliced like the ones in NYC. But I would still order again when I am looking for some comfort food. The Brisket Pho was okay, but the brisket was very chewy. So that we will not order again. We also had the Thai Ice Tea. It tasted a little different, maybe its a different kind of condense milk. Service was quick. Space was cleaned. Overall I would come again. read more

Short version: decent food and prices but inconsistent everything. Always check your order before eating. Vegans and vegetarians, read the menu carefully and especially check your order. Here's the thing. The food can be good here, but it won't always be good. Their quality of everything is inconsistent. The food has good flavors, but there's a 50% chance you'll never know because they heavily over salt the dish. It's a shame because the base broths in their ramens are pretty good, 4 stars I would say. Now Vegans and Vegetarian, be careful. Although their are vegetarian options, most of them have fish products in it. The vegan options are fine, but you have to specify you want the egg in it that comes with the other choices if your down with eggs. Prices are okay here, but I wouldn't get the pho. It's not bad, but there are so many Pho places in Stratford, Milford, Orange, and New Haven area that give you more or better for a comparable price. I Luv Pho and my personal favorite, Pho Ketkeo for example. Sometimes the service is great. In these instances, the waiter is usually very happy, lively, and attentive. Your food comes out in about ten minutes. Yet other times you have to actually hunt the waiter down if you want to eat. This isn't even a matter of being busy. Whether the place is full or empty, there is again a 50% you'll get good service or you get poor service, where the waiter is slow, messes up your order, and/or may seem to not even understand or care what you are saying. Having been in the food business before and experiencing bad service before too, I'm not shy to get the waiter from the back or say something is bad. But not everyone is like that. If you aren't the type, don't be surprised if sometimes the waiter disappears for 30 minutes, gets your food out 40 minutes after you ordered, and your food is lukewarm and missing things. Here's an example of a bad visit. The place is empty except one table. I'm a vegetarian, so I asked for a vegan ramen bowl with tofu and egg. The person I'm with asked for the fried chicken wings and the 10-hr ramen bowl with the brisket. I got a bubble tea too. I got the tea about 5 min later, though looking in the kitchen the chefs didn't seem to be in a rush. 30ish minutes later, my soup comes out. Except it has chicken in it, and it's kinda cold. So I had to go through the order again with her, and asked for another bowl. This is the second time this has happened, but at least it wasn't take out this time, so whatever. Meanwhile, another group of people finally call the same waiter to their table after waiting 15 minutes to order. 10 minutes later, everything comes out. The person I was with enjoyed her wings, but couldn't finish the soup because it was too salty (but at least it was hot). I was eating my soup, but was tentatively enjoying it because I felt something was off, and I was getting cramps and a headache. Well 2/3 in, I found bits of chicken in it. I was pissed. It was a vegan bowl. I get I got an egg with it, but still. I even specified I was vegetarian at the beginning just in case. You don't just swap the chicken for tofu in the same bowl and send it out. I told her about my food, and she came back from the kitchen and said the chefs made a mistake and I could get a new bowl. At that point I had a headache and lost my appetite, so I declined. The other group was also ticked because their order came slow, lukewarm, and incorrect. After having a heated conversation with the chef, the owner came out and apologized and gave me a gift card and said the food was on the House. I accepted and said thank you; but I just wanted to leave at that point. And while that was happening, one of the awesome waters started her shift and the whole atmosphere changed. She seemed to actually want to be there, whilst people got seated, got their orders placed, and got their apps in under 10 min. I mean what? Overall, try this place. The ramen and apps are good, the meats and non-meats are good, just expect potential mess ups. read more

I also went for the 10 hour ramen broth with the beef brisket. The broth is not bad but it is not knock your socks off good. Great addition to the neighborhood! My husband and I went for dinner on a Saturday night and it was very busy which we were happy to see. We sat a booth and ordered the beef brisket special and the 10-hour Ramen. The special was very spicy but delicious and then ramen was the best I have had. I added pork belly to it. We will be back! Inside of this location is not exactly put together well and presented in a nice way. There was painters tape hanging from the ceiling lights, parts of the walls were chipped and scuffed, and walls were just randomly decorated with decor pieces, but some things were just poorly scotch taped. But the REAL problem: what was told would take 10-15 minutes for food, took 50 minutes. There was one group of customers who ordered AFTER we had ordered for take out and they were served about 20 mins or so after ordering. There was another kid who came in shortly after and ordered JUST rice - nothing else, and was still waiting when we left - so he was pushing on 40+ min as well This all started off though by calling in to order, to have no one pick up. So we walked in when we got there and ordered, and when ordering just fried rice (which only has options for chicken, beef, or shrimp), the girl tried to charge the price for Shrimp, even though I asked for just vegetables/no meat. The chicken fried rice is $7.50 and the shrimp rice was $10.50. So after ordering the rice and her forgetting to add it to my order, I looked at the receipt after I signed and let her know she forgot about the rice. She rung it out and charged $10.50 for just rice, no meat. I brought this to her attention and she said she didn't know why the computer did it. She corrected it though however. 50 minutes and almost mistakenly overcharged.
