Tried it for the first time. And it was so disappointing. Possibly the worst shrimp and broccoli I've ever had. It wasn't even sauce, it was WATER. The shrimp tasted as though it was boiled. I threw them all away. The broccoli was cooked to perfection and the rice is decent. My man got the general tso and it was decent. It's lacking flavor to be honest. Oh and they double fried the eggrolls, which makes me question if they're fresh or not. read more

General Tsos chicken: if u want chicken, look elsewhere. If you want fried batter, it's perfect. Rangoons: if you want double deep fried sitting out taste, it's perfect. This is definitely the best Chinese take-out place in the New Haven area. The food is fresh and tasty. Also, the kitchen is superbly clean and you can tell they take sanitation and cleanliness seriously, especially with the Covid-19 virus. The only thing I should point out is that they are not quick to pick up the phone. I will not put it against them one bit though because they take great care in each order and won't just take as many orders as possible to make a quick buck. This place doesn't deserve any stars - should be ZERO! I picked up an order of their shrimp in lobster sauce, which did not look appetizing. My husband called the restaurant to see if we could exchange it with a different dish and the guy over the phone said yes. Drove back to the restaurant to make the exchange. However, was greeted with the lady chef rudely coming out of the kitchen yelling and screaming in Chinese at me and the guy employee. The guy then turns to me and says she doesn't want to make you your new order and I have to give you your money back. I'm not sure if the lady was having a bad day or she's just menopausal, but her attitude and actions were uncalled for. She's lucky I didn't throw the food at her face! We wanted to try a new Chinese restaurant and this place did not disappoint. We ordered the Happy Family and General Tao chicken and everything was cooked excellently. Also, I had asked if they would be able to substitute white rice with pork fried rice for one of the dinners as a request. Normally, Chinese restaurants do not allow subs and charge you for a side of pork fried rice. They said they would give us a free small side of pork fried rice. I found this gem about 10 years ago and been going to it ever since. Food is delicious fresh and has been consistent over the years. My favorite is the General Tso chicken extra spicy. Tastes uniquely different from any other place guaranteed. Very friendly people. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because they don't deliver. read more

This is a great place.. Very good food that's made fresh and clean. You can tell a lot about a place by the broccoli! Here the broccoli is green and crunchy; the meat is flavored and cooked well and tender.
